He is not saying he wants a gear treadmill. He is saying he wants a reason to get max stat armor. The only reason I can think of so far is so you can join cof p1 gear check groups.

So why don’t you hire a arena? Or form/look for a duelling guild to share the cost?
I don’t want to go through all that trouble. I would much rather just be able to go to a zone and duel someone without having to create a guild and such
Somewhat relevant: I really don’t want ascended armor and weapons because I feel like me getting full exotics hasn’t payed off. It’s as if I haven’t progressed since I first played. Adding ascended would just make me feel bad about my exotics.

There is no pvp type except for conquest (ctf, tdm, and rated arenas would be great).
I run cof p1 every day for gold.
I would take a break but then I would miss laurels and my ele wouldn’t be able to get full gear. This game feels like a chore because all I do is dailies and run one dungeon for gold.
Sometimes some cool-looking armor piece comes out so I smash pinatas and set off fireworks for an hour to get it.
Same problem here. I have 3 80s because I can’t do anything else (other than cof p1). I want a dueling system to wager gold and have fun (a dueling place like runescape has would be PERFECT) because nothing interests more.
One more thing. I hate when my character looks kitten as kitten from all my hours of grinding for a cool set then I go into spvp and I look like a kitten.
Don’t you hate it when you’re in your house but someone just decides to take your stone so you run over to kill them but there are tons if people waiting and they kill you and this happens every 10 minutes or so
Backstabs are extremely easy to predict. Even if it hot you should have dodged the follow-up. It would be nice if backstab took initiative though, like ambush in world of warcraft.
I used to run signet of air and arcane shield along with a cantrip such as lightning flash all the time on my ele to level. I would suggest scepter/dagger or dagger/dagger for weapons
How do you guys manage to fight over nothing? Just allow dueling everywhere except cities. If that doesn’t suit you then you can make a special dueling zone.
I use a staff build. Hp/prec/vit armor with water runes. Sigil of water or something like that. Basically a healer and condition v remover in dungeons.
One neat little trick is that when you go dd and use air 5 then fire 3 on an enemy you will land right on top of them.
Attunement switching counts as weapon switching so sigil of battle is great.
With staff, you can use earth 2 then lay down a field on it for buffs. I use this combo for area swiftness and might in dungeons or with water for extra healing.
Edit: you can use staff earth 5 then immediately after 4 to stack a lot of crippled time
I don’t get why people would say no to dueling. I mean they could implement a dueling ring zone or something like that. It makes me mad when people just make up stupid reasons to deny what a lot of other people want.
Runescape anyone? A wildness zone would be kittening amazing too.
I’m hating all of these people that say go back to wow. I also want a profession like that. Everyone who is saying that has never played wow and sees it that if you have a healer, the game is wow. I played wow for 4 years. I like the way guild wars feels but there are some things wow did 10x better.
Fire 3, fire 4, fire 2, fire 5, earth 4, earth 2, water 3 + 4, water 2 if . Low hp, etc etc. Point is you need to use your spells. Aa with dd ele will make you die.
I’m pretty much fed up with a class design allowing those who pick up the Thief class to spend less than a day with it and compete with some of the best DPS metagamers to ever put their hands on GW2…by pressing 2…a lot.

lol what? how do you even land melle 3 in WvW if you have 0 stealth or leap weapon skills, or you just run into enemies hoping they’ll ignore you till you get in melle or waste huge cooldown utilities JUST TO USE 1 ATTACK? Or i guess you just do nothing but spamming bleed auto attack thinking you’re any useful?
and torment is probably weakest debuff in history, damage on it is virtually nothing
Even with full 80s I still sometimes wipe. I think ac should be much easier so newer players don’t get frustrated when they get totally destroyed every fight in their first dungeon.
