This seems like a really poor way to inform the player base that a trait has been disabled. I only stumbled upon this due to coming here to look for info about a different issue. An in game mail would probably work better, so that people aren’t running around with a disabled trait selected.

And yes training dummies != players with stun breaks and condi cleanse, but just showing that I’m not pulling numbers completely out of my kitten .

Glad to see not everyone is viewing this so negatively, krait runes would probably get those ridiculous numbers even higher.

Rather than quoting everyone individually.

@Bleed damage.
Its not the application of a single bleed that hurts, it is the intensity stacking factor. The trait has no ICD. Using reaper 4 in a chill field now applies tons of bleeds off the whirl finisher. I wouldn’t call 3.2k bleed ticks from one reaper a slight breeze.

@Cleansing:
The rev example I already provided I felt was the best example, since its a skill brought by nearly every rev and that rev is a popular class. But there are plenty of other things that specifically effected chill. Another example, brought by most thieves:

Of course if you try to blindly burst all your condis someone running with skills that cleanse everything your going to have a bad time. Now reaper 5 and 4 alone are enough to inflict significant pressure without also using staff 3 to generate a poison field.

@Necro stacking:
Talking more about matchmaking then intentional premade stacking. I played to legend, and a great majority of the time I was solo queue. Since last season necro was so popular it wasn’t uncommon to get stuck on a team with too many necros and people not willing/able to switch. It’s a terrible composition, but it still happened. The damage change just makes it a little more viable, and at lower skill levels that much more effective. Though, hopefully since everyone sees this as the death of chillmancer maybe people will migrate to a new class.

That statement targets pvp, but in pve with multiple necros the damage stacking aspect will also provide a benefit.

I don’t think this change kills the trait, just modifies the proper usage of it. Anyone who isn’t completely stuck in the idea that the trait is dead might want to play with it for a moment themselves. I guess I’ll try to let everyone else mourn in peace now.

Now each reaper can put 30 stacks of bleed on a target instead of all just increasing chill duration.

Now all we need is one condition cleared to negate most of our damage. one step forward three steps back.

You have a valid point about the damage becoming more concentrated in bleeds. On the plus side now every single time you apply chill you now apply two condis, making it that much easier to makes it easier to bury condis. Additionally , in situations where you have multiple reapers their damage will actually stack now.

Plus skills that remove/reduce movement impairing skills wont effect the damage aspect of the trait.

Never did really matter in the pasr since reaper stacked chill above 100%.

I felt like I was in this “MMR Hell” for a while when I dropped from t6 diamond to something like t2, consistently getting those bot-tier team mates everyone dreads. Then I climbed back out and went from t2 legendary in one session. Its not impossible, just need to be able to carry enough dead weight.

I’m in diamond and I keep seeing stuff like,

Eles solo pushing far, trying to solo beast, or just instantly dying at mid.

Multiple reapers just walking off uncontested points instead of capping it.

Druid’s and others idling on point

And of course bad rotations and instantly downed players.

I question how people that do this get to diamond in the first place. The answer is probably strong hold premades or facerolling reaper

After reaching 11 pips in diamond after hard work I got caught in a downward spiral and the following screen shows what happens to me more often than it should.

It happens, I was in t6 at one part of the day and t3 later after getting stuck with 3+ necros and other disappointing circumstances. Win streaks make it easy enough to recover progress though.

What about a match which is 450 v 100 – would you blame some for going AFK then?

He is probably not complaining about that, more like people that afk as soon as they die at mid once, or others that quit 2 minutes into a game.

Needs a specific report option that gives dishonor or counts as a desertion if reported enough, instead of just the blanket “Botting”.

The original 10k cap was nice when each daily was worth something on its own, but since now the points come from just doing 3 a day it really doesn’t matter. I still do dailies pretty much religiously regardless of capped.

I don’t remember when I hit cap, maybe half a year ago+. It might be time the bump the cap up a few more points, seems like plenty of people who care have had enough time to catch up. Maybe 500 points each content update, so people who are capped can easily maintain it, while still allowing for other players to gain ground if they wish.

The current fight is definitely a significant improvement over the old one, and demonstrates the use of gliding in an interesting manor.

Praises aside, my suggestions for further improvement revolve around the break bars. As many others have said, the fight is possibly still too simple, and the break bar pretty much never breaks. I think that adjusting the break bar to be a more significant part of the encounter would add a little more tension to the fight.:

Adjusting the Shatterer’s overall HP pool to be larger, so that the damage increase from the break bar could be the difference between the fight succeeding or failing. At the same time, decrease the scaling of the break bar and increase the duration that it lasts, so that maps actually have a chance of breaking it. It shouldn’t be trivialized, but Having the bar broken once per fight on average would be a good place for a closer, but usually successful run. Maybe somewhere along the lines with the Wyvern Matriarch, where still the bar is pretty consistently unbroken, but sometimes even disorganized groups will be able to break it,or at least somewhat close.

Another minor suggestion, increase the health of the regen crystals, and/or make it so that the break bar doesn’t give them 100% damage resist, maybe something more like 80%. As it stands they currents explode almost instantly when the break bar is depleted resulting in people not getting kill credit on them.

Crashes.

I’ve been playing this game since before release and have never seen so many crashes. Now every time I try to run a HoT meta the hardest part is just staying in my map.

Sometimes crashes will actually allow me to continue playing. The gw2.exe has crashed message will appear, but I will still be able to play the game. The game only actually shuts down when I try to get rid of the error pop up.

Other times it just locks up completely.

Hello,

I just realized this week that I had hit the 15k achievement point cap for dailies/monthlies and was wondering if anyone knows about any plans to increase the cap for the Heart of Thorns release?

Would people even want to see it raised? I could certainly understand keeping it at 15k. A majority of my playtime recently has just been doing PvP/dailies and yet I’m still top of my server for AP due to consistent dailies giving such a huge percentage of overall AP.

I can also confirm that they do count toward the cap.
I got some of the Halloween ones before hitting 10k and am still capped at an even 10k.

It’s selfish to exclude people from consideration who do have issues merely because you don’t have them.

Do you know what’s selfish? It’s when players who seek challenge are given 1 boss, and 2 Achievements, and then someone says: “This is an outrage! Take this away from them!”

Pretty much, though I’m not sure I would use the term “selfish”, probably self entitled. Not every piece of free content that Arena Net gives us every two weeks has to be intended for every player, though they seem to usually try anyway either though upscaling or making sure plenty of events take place in low level zones.

If you can’t avoid a one shot ability, you need to improve your ability, if you can’t improve then you don’t deserve the reward.

If you READ my post or subsequent ones, you would have seen i actually finished 3rd round b4 i lost interest.

I lost interest coz i could see all the bosses were build with that 1-shot mechanic.

I got 1-shotted by the first boss coz it was my first time, didn’t know what to expect. soon as i got loaded in, i got 1 shot b4 i could even orient myself and the boss was no where near me at the time, yet he’s supposed to be melee. I’m not the first to experience this either. So it was either latency, lag or w/ever. I am from Australia and we don’t have it so good when it comes to latency etc..

If you READ my post you would have seen that I said you were complaining about the first fight, no where did it say you didn’t complete it. The first boss is not purely melee, he attacks with a frontal cone when he slams down his hammer that will one shot you.
Also not every boss has a one shot mechanic.

Why you would want to do all of those unpleasant things and for no “tangible” reward, nonetheless, is a mystery to me. Maybe you don’t have those issues.

If thats how you see it then don’t do it, plenty of people can complete it and embrace content that can be seen as challenging just because some can’t handle it doesn’t mean no one should be able to have it. If its not meant for you, don’t play it, there was plenty of other things added in this patch alone that have relatively no difficulty to them. As for lag, I haven’t played on your machine so I have no idea exactly what you deal with. Any sort of lag I’ve experienced has been manageable, not having a 0ping might have got me killed a few times more then I would have liked but nothing to cry over.

Defensive stats are only useless in regards to one shot mechanics, they still help against all other sources of damage in the fights, if you find that you are only ever being hit by one shots and avoiding all other sources of damage, then yes, they are wasted stats.
All classes have their advantages and disadvantages, if you don’t like the advantages whatever class your playing has you may be playing the wrong class. Plus, every class does have access to dodge.

I used my necro for meatless and found it laughably easy.
Just focus on chomper, between cripples, fears, chills, Spectral grasp, and fleshy KD the dog shouldn’t even be able to consider getting to any meats.

I don’t know what classes you have or what you’ve already heard but

Turning post processing off in graphics disables screen blur
Cosmic Rifts spawn based off when the previous one was destroyed (30-35 seconds)
Shadow Fall is avoidable ("One-one thousand, Two One-thousand, Dodge)
Visages can be destroyed by using invulnerability and having them trigger their self destruct
Strafing in phase one makes it so you can avoid her necrotic grasps.
Everything has a locked identifiable pattern minus the cosmic rifts spawn locations, Shadowfall goes in the same place each time, visages spawn in the same locations, white vortexes spawn in the same locations in the same order.
Sticking with one arena will help you memorize that arena’s patterns
Watching others may help you see the patterns more clearly from a birds eye view

1) If there are multiple people at an arena the repairman make it so you never need to run back. Yes it would be nice if dead people had a waypoint to go to or where ported out in a downed state, but this way puts more of a penalty on failure, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

2)They were easily soloable.

3)It was publically stated that both of the cost based effects where only in effect for a month, unfortunately people still voted for Ellen.

I really don’t get what “nerf” people are talking about. On day two I was able to get to Liadri, had trouble beating her so i decided to farm Deadeye because I heard it was a good farm…

It’s was my experience that his teleports were always random, sometimes he was not tele and other times he was tele 3 times within the first few seconds.

If they did “change” anything they probably simple fixed a bug that caused this not to happen to some accounts.

It is still a good farm.

His first teleport was always directly to where you spawn, second was directly across. the arena.

When too many mini-game are available to play at once, the population playing them is spread too thin, causing games to be empty.

This assumes that everyone playing one mini game likes all mini games.
Just because someone really likes keg brawl, does not necessarily mean that person likes aspect arena or any other mini game.This change just makes it so the people who enjoy minigames will only be able to play them for a limited time.

This change also is specifically painful to people who enjoy keg brawl. We already had trouble finding a legitimate match that wasn’t plagued by people boosting for achievements and exploiting, now that there is a limited window of opportunity to play, it may be impossible to get legit match going during that time.

Meanwhile in keg brawl, its basically impossible to find legit matches at all. The only available matches are usually people just boosting for achievements or plagued by lob exploiters.
It was nice that they fixed the unlimited keg works bug that occurred recently, but it would be ever better if the game overall got the smallest bit of attention.

There are minigames in some of the Living stories too. Why aren’t they permanent? Why does no one play keg brawl except on days that it’s part of the daily.

They’ve had crab toss and dragon ball and mini games for Christmas and PvP for Christmas and halloween.

I’m not sure what the complaining is about? That we don’t have a minigame that people would have long since stopped caring about?

There’s plenty of content for people who like mini games with more around the corner.

That’s is a pretty insulting argument to make. I’ll give you the personal reason why I’m pretty kitten ed about this whole thing, because I refuse to be broad stroked by your image of “people who like mini games”…

The only mini game they have currently which I’ve spent more than my fair share of time playing is completely unsupported. It got two updates way back in the beginning of fall that didn’t fix the main issue that was there before, the one being a completely game breaking mechanic where you can score from any spot in the arena with minimal amounts of practice. It makes the game almost unplayable when you have several players doing this; the only reprieve being the small amount of thrill there is to beat someone repeatedly using a broken mechanic through conventional means. But it can’t be fun for a new player who has zero chance of even learning the kitten game if the keg sails high over their head every 12 seconds. And it’s not fun for me to have to deal with that kind of game play because there’s absolutely no way the game was meant to be played like that. arguably 8/10 skills available through all of keg brawl become absolutely irrelevant.

Furthermore, there’s no way to enjoy this socially without jumping through amazingly impossible hoops and barriers. There’s no leader boards or ladders, ranks, one title that was bugged for 5 months, there’s no way to even guarantee you’ll get into the same match as your friends… there’s no custom matches or reward tokens/cosmetic gear (part of the promise that disappeared with the other supposed 29 activities) Source

And it’s been 10 months. Sure, there were holiday activities, and I’m not mad that they’re not in the game. They’re seasonal, it makes sense. I don’t expect to be playing Snowball fights in May. But when I hear a crier every time I’m in Divinity’s Reach saying to try Mina’s Target shootout or go participate in Bar Brawl, you can imagine it being a little upsetting that it’s not possible and I fear may never be possible with each passing day that they don’t even acknowledge its existence.

The fact that the cross map throw still hasn’t been addressed is upsetting, but now with the addition of achievement rewards It’s basically impossible to play keg brawl at all, every match is just filled with people boosting for achievements and theres still no option to report players for cheating or exploiting.

Could use a disclaimer on the runes of Vampirism to inform players using them that they are all cheaters.

Is this being discussed anywhere else? It seems like a big enough problem to deserve some attention. Not game breaking but, being forced to restart the client anytime you want your sound back after going to WvW and not having any real WvW sound is a bit of a problem

I heard that the Mursaat may start making their return in this new November patch and It got me thinking on tangets. Just wanted to write out my train of thought somewhere and maybe get some feedback. This is mainly just a thought that came up and there’s a very good chance I may have a mistake or misunderstanding in here, also I apologize in advance if similar tin foil hat tier theory have already been written as I don’t lurk this board frequently.

The Mursaat, a powerful enemy in Guild Wars Prophecies, but what was their real alignment? Their objective seemed to halt the Flameseeker Prophecies that would unleash the titans on the world. The player character was the antagonizing force in this regard, helping the Lich(/Abbadon’s Puppet) open the Door of Komalie. The Mursaat also played a hand in the White Mantles corruption and sacrifice of the chosen, but this act was also an aggressive method of preventing the Flameseeker Prophecies in my eyes. No chosen to complete this ultimate evil and souls to ensure the doors safely locked away. Now in Guild Wars 2 will the Mursaat be a friendly race without the threat of the Titans being unleashed by humans, or will they harbor a grudge for the previous events?

Which brings me to my first tangent, Abbadon, the underlying antagonizing force from the first three Guild Wars campaigns. A god who was outcast by the other five after sharing magic with humans and began his decent to madness. Abbadon who’s influence on Vizier Kilbron lead to the sinking of Orr, the place where the Human gods once lived and had their temples. These now joined Abbadons at the bottom of the ocean.

After Abbadon’s “Death” and then the disappearance of the other five gods the Elder Dragons begin to awaken within Tyria. Well, to be accurate their awakening began relativity right after Abbadon’s “Death”, then the other gods disappearance conveniently followed. Skip ahead to Zhaitan’s rising of Orr, bring back the five God’s temples, while still leaving Abbadon’s temple in the sea.

This leads me to wonder about the connection of the human gods and their connection with the dragons. The Dragons came before the gods, but during the Gods time lay dormant, then awaken after the exiled gods “Death” while the gods again go missing.

After this everything that comes to mind is basically just complete speculation and tin foil hat guesses. Could Abbadon be a force of good that was preventing the dragons return,or was it due to the shift in his power to Kormir that awoken them? Did the other gods want them to return,or are the gods just a different form of the dragons?Could Tyria have been completely deceived by the Gods and are they the primary Antagonists in the entire history of Tyria….
