20/25 +5 = 30 we 15 u cant zerg us?sometimes is better really dont reply but u always do that and many time u do that not on your matchup topic too,i dont want repeat the same kitten of all the time but fact are that and i repeat it again WE DONT CARE do it u like it ?good
the only reason u dont killed us against hob is because u respect them if it was another guild probly it was going different,no point come to the forum and say that,
we saw it,and no point make always wall of text reply only because you know i cant reply in the right way for my english, and dont worry here in XxX almost all have eye and brain i haven’t washed their brain they see with their eyes what happening all the evening while we play,we saw your tup train going to defend garrison we was coming from sentry and all saw how many u all are.
Now for the quiet life ignore me and I will do the same, u all do not please any of us and none of us care about tup guild.
Now, I dont generally like getting involved in these minor discrepancies, but I have to draw the line at other people telling us what our own intentions are.
First off, we know the numbers we run in wvw, we do it 4 times a week. We cant do anything about the occasional pug and the numbers vary throughout an evening. We aren’t going to make up numbers.
Secondly, we always seek to avoid interfering with guilds fighting other guilds unless we’re asked for help (allies wishes come first, of course), or the battle is as good as over/massively unbalanced. It’s a philosophy we’ve always had as we always wish the same treatment in return. We hold that philosophy regardless of which guild.
Third thing I want to say is we play wvw to fight various groups. I understand we will typically have more numbers than you, but if we went to wvw and avoided battles with everyone who didn’t have our exact number, it would be very boring indeed. And that being said, on the receiving end of things, groups larger than us freely attack us as well. It’s not something that can be avoided, different groups run different sizes.
Lastly, attacking a group of people then asking them to ignore you isn’t really how things work. I’ve done my best to keep this neutral and not un/intentionally attack anyone. Chances are we just have varying outlooks on how we would want the game to be. I have every respect for how XxX fights. In my opinion if everyone ran around in smaller groups and fought as well as you do, the fun and excitement in the game would be elevated exponentially.
Had a really good night tonight on UW borderlands tonight. Came across many other guilds groups and had some really good fights. I can’t remember all guilds we came across tonight but it was good to see the willingness to bring the fight and to leave the siege! There was a really good challenge to be had tonight.
AoA and RL? I think are the ones we came across most tonight, and some good run ins with APE and AA? All of you have a great attitude to the game and really kept the game fun. We didn’t go long without some good action.
It would be pretty awesome to come across you all again throughout the match up.
Thanks to our very own HoB and Dawn who let us have our battles with opposition guilds without mixing in, even when you were literally around the corner.
Penguins (my girlfriend wanted to help contribute to my post. This was her contribution).
So far it has been a good weekend for me. Had awesome fights against Auroras CRUX, FIRE, TUP and others that i forget atm (my memory sucks :p).
@Crux – good fights and I must say I have lots of respect for you guys, it was really nice of you to not add when FSV was fighting FIRE in Bay. I even managed to do a /bow before i died
@FIRE, TUP – really good fights, most did not turn out too good for us, but its a learning process.
Looking forward for more action, so far its been a blast.
Hope everyone is having fun
We enjoyed our fights with you, they were a good challenge! I do apologise for those times when we were fighting and the other groups added in. We like to have our own battles aswell, and try to give other guild groups the same respect.
Our numbers can have a large variation night on night, but typically between 18 up to around 30 or so, with 25 being normal I guess… But we most certainly have never been 50! (though my ego likes the idea of us hitting like 50). We were a little light on reset with people being stuck in queues, and a few dcs, so I think we averaged out around 20.
We’ll be around tonight and I’m looking forward to more of the same! We’ve got the potential here for a really fun match up, so let the repair bills be crippling and the loot within range before we go down!
We feel you on the German related jokes side of things. There’s nothing more demoralising than knowing you’re up against RS or AM. I expect Berlin will soon be the location of the first half human, half arrow cart child. (Drakkar and Millers deserve respect, though.)
We’re looking for some gvg this week, also, so drop us a line if you’re interested for a Thursday match up.
Edit: auto correct on an iPad is awful. Why anyone buys apple products is beyond me!

Well the first thing I notice is you’re running 2 wells, without the ground targeted wells or well cool down traits. As I’m sure you know, this means you will need to be standing on top of the enemies whom you want to hit. Without the stability trait (grandmaster shroud) this may land you in a bit of difficulty, especially if you’re low on defence. The well of power may not proc on you for stability if there are more than 5 people in the area.
Also, lich form is nice, but for wvw group play you may want to consider plague form, as it comes with a boost to defence and you effectively have stability for the duration of the elite being active, while constantly blinding or crippling 5 enemies within your range and dealing a small amount of damage.
(edited by Raeyne.5086)
Are you aiming for group play or solo play? Facing groups or individuals?
To be honest, from running around in a shroud focused build (power) I’ve found the new changes to be favourable with exception to not being able to drop massive distances and living.
I am a wvw focused player, although yesterday I spent a couple hours doing dungeons. The extra health we now have from death shroud is a much heavier asset than it seems on the face of things. I can see that having it unlinked from the actual health bar would be cause for concern for the balance team. It’s far more sustainable when it’s needed.
That being said, I don’t believe it would be overpowering to keep it as a separate bar.
As it is a transformation, access to utilities would be out of the question. All transformations work in the same ways, be they guardian tomes, plague form, norn elites and so on.
On the flip side, I believe the delay from deathshroud dropping and being able to access utilities and cures is too long. There’s a second or two from it going down to being able to either heal or trigger utilities which can be detrimental, especially if it was popped to bridge the last few seconds of healing skill cool down when you’re on low health.
A penguin!
Both land and water.
Waddle of death.
I like to synchronise it with healing well, to give some extra healing as I buff up
Really sad move Aurora, nothing but blobbing on your HL tonight.
Well it was an Unlikely Blob, if you know what I mean
For the first 30 minutes, we had no commander on the map, so we gave the friendlies some direction. Apologies for the large numbers we brought at that time, ontop of our quite large turnout as a guild. As soon as the commander got onto the map, we were free to roam on our own. Please keep your insults to yourself, though, and keep this civilised. It would have been much sadder for us to ignore the AG community in the map and leave them with no commander or guild to give them that direction.
I havent been around an awful lot this week (sadface) but its becoming increasingly common that I just cant find the time (2 jobs, a course, and the lady moved in) but I was on last night and sunday and had a great time with the guild!
There has been some good action to be had with various guild groups and community groups alike.
As always with Mya, every time I post I have something good to say about you guys. We love battling it out with you all and we can never tell what’s going to happen! It seems to go to the wire nearly every time! And your mental counterparts, QQ, your madness is inspiring, and you bring a great challenge on every encounter!
It’s great to see some small groups out being effective and powerful, like Riot & Buka always doing their thing and bringing a fight no matter their number.
I think it was LMS? At hills last night. I think we had more than you (couldnt tell, wall was in the way) and you still had a few pushes out from the safety of the keep to bring a fight, and made things very difficult for us.
Looking forward to some more action
I don’t understand why people are complaining about miller’s. Have they changed this week or something, because they’re pretty much the most enjoyable server to fight. A lot of medium sized guilds (10-15+) and also something to offer the larger guilds. If you don’t want them, can we have them back please?
@Maeeve, since when does TUP allow non forum warriors on here? We can’t have TUPs promoting peace on the forums, you’ll ruin their reputation
Maeeve’s on my side of the fence, and probably finds it equally as embarrassing lately seeing people who play well and without a fret in the world on our team getting dragged into petty forum squabbles.
I wish everyone could hold the philosophy that these boards could be a place to talk about the fun you’ve had, not complain about people playing differently to how you want them to.
If we got everyone here and put them at a pub table together… They would probably have a great time and make a lot of friends.
Had a really good night tonight in GH borderlands. Really good action from all sides, and good to see all the guilds working well and bringing some tough battles!
We saw a couple of Mya tags and got our hopes up that we would see you in force, but it wasn’t meant to be! Hope we can get some battles before the reset!
Also Bots and Dc? For some pretty intense fights throughout the night. Was good to cross swords with you all, definitely kept us on our toes!
Special shout out tonight goes to QQ for sheer insanity! I really love you guys <3. I doubt I’ve laughed so hard in a long long time, you guys are awesome! Never change!
Thanks to everyone for some awesome battles for reset. Had some pretty intense action on our home borderland, fighting many guilds and pug groups alike.
To QQ, you guys are awesome, and really great to fight, and im sorry we so heavily outnumbered you tonight, I hope we can meet on equal terms sometime in the week!
Mya, we didn’t see you tonight, but we’ll be looking for you! Love you guys, we need to cross swords while we have the chance! Hope your reset was as action packed as ours, regardless.
Thanks also to fury for some pretty intense fights in the open, definitely kept the night interesting! Kept us on our toes and some of the fights were pretty lengthy and well worth every bit of effort. Would definitely be up for more of that this week!
Sorry if I’m missing anyone, I’m tired! See you all on the battlefield
You’re like a horny dog for us Dranul, have plenty of cold showers until Friday!
I’m just going to go ahead and quote this in hopes that if we face gandara in the next match up, this phrase becomes a thing.
Had a great time at reset and hugely enjoyed the fights. We were pretty high in number, so apologies to other guild groups we came across if our number seemed overwhelming. I think that’s one of our highest turnouts to date. We’re looking at possibly dividing the warband into two groups in future.
It was great to see so many well coordinated guild groups, especially on Gh borderlands. It’s refreshing to see small scale organised play providing a good challenge and some epic battles. If this is the setting for the week ahead we’re in for a great time!
Massive thanks to both GH and DZ for the fantastic battles, and although I escape the country next week so won’t see much more of this match up, keep up the great battles and I hope to hear of a good week when I get back.
Good Smush on AM BL – Shame AM don’t have much pride for their own BL.
For last night some of us (AM) decided in a weekly partyevent-zerg to turn your both BLs green (as we where not in the mood to defend after defendig day after day against 2 servers). And it worked. Had some nice fights against some guild-zergs (i.e. KISS + pug) – but most times they wiped very fast and we got incredible much lootbags (and i got my jade-skin).
So i have to say, sorry that we where not on the place where you would have liked us to be, as we where to busy to serve you.
Well you didn’t do a very good job of it, your server was ticking at well under 200 points for the hours after we took your garrison. You had quite a considerable force until we won the garri then you all just vanished. Was a shame, we were expecting that force to come back and give us a battle to keep it.
The battle for garrison itself was fun and extensive, took a while and we used the advantage of having more smaller organised groups on the field to attack multiple targets knowing how afraid you are of having groups of less than 60 from having to split up into multiple forces. The T3 garri and bay flipped at around the same time.
Congrats on your jade skin. When you get 5 we can compare our collections and other wvw loot.
Had an absolutely fantastic tonight in AG borderlands. Especially the 3-way server battle down in ruins that had us… Yak, Mya, QQ? And some others, Im sure. Such a thrilling fight with beautiful tactics from all sides! Thanks for that massive fight, everyone. It was incredible seeing everyone moving around in their guilds hitting one group, moving off, being hit by another. Absolutely epic action. Thanks so much for the action!
The rest of the night was particularly awesome, as well. Had some awesome battles with Yak, QQ, Dye, Dius throughout the night, kept the action coming and never a dull moment. You all played fantastically, and really kept the adrenaline flowing!
<3 to Dius for the rain of death at NE tower tonight XD
A special shout out to Mya for reminding us what it means to be on the receiving end of a freight train! Amazing standard of fighting from you guys tonight. Definitely rate you amongst the top guilds we’ve played. Keep it up! We want more!
(edited by Raeyne.5086)
People are using Health per second food in Dragon Ball. Obviously with 100 health, its a little over powered! Just so you know!
Aye, I play on an EU server and am from London, so I doubt the proximity can be causing anything particularly radical.
As it is a recent thing, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was due to an update. Thanks for the reply!
The last 2-3 weeks I’ve been experiencing very strong rubber banding in the wvw zones. I’ll be running with my guild and everyone will be jumping about, and some times the lag will cause up to a 8-10 second static in which time I lose sight of everyone.
When it does happen, which is pretty frequently, everyone will be running in a set direction, then they would all just vanish from my screen and be somewhere a little way off.
My frames per second never drops below 40 or so, so it shouldn’t be a performance issue and everything looks like communication lag.
It seems to be amplified after changing map. Yesterday we changed from a borderland to EB, where the lag went from minor rubberbanding to hanging 8 seconds of every 10. I seemed to be one of 2-3 people experiencing this out of the 30 we had. After changing from EB back to a borderland, it wasn’t so bad, but worse than when we were in the borderland prior.
The connection is a 70mb connection and my ISP reports that everything is running fine after various diagnostics. Furthermore, the minute I went back to lions arch, there was absolutely no lag or rubberbanding. Large world events also seem to be fine.
Thanks for your help.
Grab the bottles and drop the siege! What could possible go wrong? :P
Grab the bottles and drop the siege!
Grab the bottles and drop the siege!
Dran, I move to vote that this become the new TUP slogan.
If the keep flips the graphics for it reload, which can get people stuck in the bridge. Unfortunately sometimes this registers you as in combat with an npc that can never reach you, so you can’t port out either.
It’s not an exploit though, just a bug.
How about an ‘overcrowded’ buff which increases cool down times if a massive number of people are in the same spot? Haven’t thought that through much, just off the top of my head.
Or… Friendly fire damage.
We had a bit of a talk about the lower tier scores in the guild the other day. As there are just two servers that lack wvw competition, absorbing the two into each other or other servers would break the multiple of 3 necessary for the matchups.
Although I don’t know the server or systems limitations, a solution would be to absorb the bottom servers into the tier above for the purpose of wvw in reverse proportion. So Vabbi would fight alongside ROF in wvw, woe alongside arborstone, and blacktide alongside whiteside ridge.
The shift in power would most likely accelerate blacktide/whiteside out of the bottom tiers, but should bring Vabbi and woe back into contention. This would also raise those servers wvw morale, and keep the lower ranks more balanced and closer together.
At current their rankings are so low that even with the randomisation, they will both be in the same matchups as each other getting beaten in the same or higher proportions regardless.
Minor edit: As Ashan above me was typing as I was, seems the general idea is a popular one!
(edited by Raeyne.5086)
I’ll also be voting for 2, it keeps things interesting, and although the rankings will go a little everywhere for a while they will still give an accurately weighted overall ranking over time, and still keep matches interesting without them going stale.
A promotion demotion system wouldn’t be a bad thing either, but wouldn’t solve the issues relating to the top tiers and bottom tiers having somewhat stale matches, and could end up with the same groups of servers competing, just not limited to the 3 in the matchup.
Before the change, there a was amount of complaining about matches being stale and facing the same 2 worlds week after week.
They implemented a change to address this, and now people are complaining about not having the same matches. Poor Devon must feel like there’s a hole that can only get deeper, even though so much is being done as per suggestions from players and trying to add more to the experience.
Wvw is getting more attention now than ever before, so I agree now is the time to put forward your thoughts, but for a system that’s been in place for two days, people are being incredibly harsh and narrow. At least give it a good chance and time to go through some tweaking if necessary.
I agree a bit of tweaking may be to some benefit, but the randomising on the whole will help keep matches fresh and give a large amount of variety.
An interesting idea, but it would be difficult to implement, and you would likely get everyone over all worlds flocking to one of the few very strong legions leaving things heavily mismatched. The bind by server does something to stop everyone flocking to the winning teams as they have their pve obligations and friends on those servers, and it’s costly to move.
I reckon something along the lines of:
- Remove wall and gate tiering for towers. Reduce tiering for keeps to tier 2 max.
- Tower upgrades supply the full siege defence, in forms of the current oils/cannons etc and a set amount of defensive siege, such as two well placed arrow carts that come as part of an upgrade.
- Reduce ram, golem and catapult efficiency accordingly, but not heavily.
Overall increase flip rate of towers and increase viability of player vs player battles without making siege entirely useless.
I would like to see something along those lines.
WTB AG back =(
Feel sorry for you Arbor, gonna be a long week due to a rediciouls matchup system…
Aww Robin! We are looking forward to finding XxX again, for sure!
I should be back in the game properly after next week, so we can share stories then! :p
We were quite excited when it was AG – FSP – Gandalf, it’s a shame they got reshuffled. I sure it won’t be too long before we get to go at each others throats again though
And while I’m here, hey Lloantix!
Heya Addy! Hope you have fun in your matchup :P
Reset night was pretty fantastic, fights everywhere and there never more than 5-10 minutes before the next. Drakkar runs about in a fairly large single group with 1 or 2 small guilds. Their blob numbers bring the challenge, and the loot. And then MSs small guilds bring the even number coordinated challenge and practice. Very little need for drawn out siege warfare and some epic open field battles. You wouldn’t believe the gold and badges I got between 7 and 1 if I told you!
Unfortunately that was my only log in before the next reset, my last exam finishes at 4 on Friday. I hope for more of the same next week to be completely honest.
Inspite of that, however, I’m disappointed we didn’t get to keep the Gandalf, FSP, glade match up because that would have been epic! I hope it comes to pass in the near future. Although the potential for forum warriors fighting over here instead of in the game would bring it all down, without a doubt.
WTB AG back =(

Had really good fun tonight, especially since at the moment I’m not able to play much at all (managed to log on 3 times in the last month ). Being able to join my guild for wvw and then having as much fun as we did was just awesome!
Despite the hiccups with the start, which honestly gave more fun to the evening than took away anyway, we had some fantastic fights and action was never far away. We had some epic battles.
Special shout outs to [Mya] and [QQ] for the constant battles and bringing such a challenge to the game. Although I probably won’t be on again until next reset (kitten you real life!) I hope we get to cross swords again soon in the future. I’m sure you’ll give my guild mates something to talk about during the week though!
Aye, we had some good fun tonight on our home borderlands, mainly with MS in and around bay. The initial fight after the reset was a surprise for us. We looked out of the inner gate when we got there to defend (Outer was already down by the time we got there) and saw a couple of consistent tags meaning a couple of small guilds maybe, and a large pug following. Then the fight started and the pugs were moving solidly with the guilds, and it was powerful! I was very impressed!
Had a fair few battles which lasted a long time, and all in all it was a very fun evening of wvw, thanks to both FSP and MS for some great action!
Although tonight started a little rocky for us tonight in a very laggy and crowded AR borderland, we had a good night!
It was a shame that our one or two meetings with dius were spoiled by lag. But it was good to see you out at least!
A big shout out to [war]~ you guys run very well and the challenge of battling with you made for a great few encounters. We were actively thinking up strategies and counter strategies to fight with you based on your way of playing considering ours and it really did make the game come alive. I keep my fingers crossed that we will get to fight again much more in the future!
Keep up the game, everyone. It wouldn’t be what it is without everyone who appears to fight for each side. You’re all enjoying the same thing, make some friends!
We had a great time in wvw this evening. Just a thank you to all of those we fought against tonight in Gandara borderlands!
Yak, you bring us some good action, keep it up! Same with MM. We had really good action tonight thanks to you guys and the Gandara friendlies.
Also a special mention to XxX, my favourite guild to battle. It was great crossing swords with you tonight after so long! We really enjoy our battles with you, and look forward to many more in the future! It’s like putting the game into hard mode!
It’s an interesting point, looking at it from both sides.
From the side of those utilising those lines (for example, veil, necro protection line, etc) those lines are incredibly useful and offer up an entire new dimension to the game play. The line durations are short, and the effects are also limited in duration, but they give enough to build a good strategy on the fly.
From the side of being affected by those lines, again, the durations are low, but they can make things very awkward. They certainly do have an effect on a battles outcome.
I play, primarily in WvW a ranger and a guardian. As a ranger, I have to take high care to make sure im not charging blindly through/into offensive lines, however as a guardian they have very little effect.
From the point of view of playing the guardian, line of warding is nice, but it doesnt have a huge effect. It will give a slight delay to a portion of an enemy group, enough to cause minor disruption, but should the effect be limited, it would become nigh on pointless.
From the point of view of ranger where I have no form of stability as part of my build and very little condition removal, lines, rings etc are just something I can usually just avoid, and if I get caught in one, its rarely the end of the world.
Personally, from my experience, they are efficient enough to add a new level of strategy to battles, but in their pure form taking into account duration and effect, they aren’t game breakingly good.
A big shout out for everyone we’ve come across in these few matchups, both new and old. WvW is as fun as it because everyone’s out there to play and play well. Some of the fights we’ve had have been EPIC. Not just good fun, but epic on a “I used moneysupermarket” level (If just one person gets the reference and doesn’t want to kill me for it, it was worth it).
This wouldn’t be the game it is without the people that play it, and whether we’re on the same team or against each other, it’s the people that make the thrill… thrilling. Many will have different views on how they want to play. Some play in small guilds, some in large, some play without guilds, some play over walls, some in the open… But remember without everyone’s different styles of play, this would be a dull expedition indeed!
A special shout out to my friends in Dius, for the numbers you run, you hit like a tank.
Judging by the map chat and guild chat this evening, there isn’t a single soul in the EU that isn’t thankful for this change.
Personally, coming from someone that starts work at 9am on saturday morning, I had stopped playing the reset altogether because, obviously, needing to sleep. Now I’ve been able to put the reset right back on the table. We had people in the guild who would have had to stay up until 3/4/5am in order to play (depending on the time zone) and that just wasn’t an option, of course. The time makes the reset much more accessible to everyone here.
It is, of course, regrettable that for the time being, some of NA will also be affected. I do hope they quickly find a way to split the reset times so all communities will be covered. For the time being, though, thank you for shifting the times back within reach for the majority of European players. Any change is going to upset people who have a schedule, I wish good luck for those who need a deeper solution in order to keep playing they want to play. Devon, in the small time he has been active with us here, has proven to be active in addressing issues, especially those raised within the community of players. I have every confidence he will find a medium that benefits everyone.
As an edit to my post:
I appreciate that you guys are trying to find a solution that works better for everyone, but I honestly don’t think the time that you have chosen is it.
I don’t see how two hours earlier is going to make a huge difference for EU and it is going count out a very significant portion of the NA population.
Just to bring a little contrast from this side of the pond. To the majority of European players, 11-2am is fantastic. Not as good as say… 9-12, sure, but having the start at 1:15am for some (2:15 for most) made it inaccessible. That start time had already ruled out most of the EU.
(edited by Raeyne.5086)
And while all of you QQ about blobs and other population level related stuff, I had a productive day killing people and flaunting my swag 8-) You guys should try it sometime ;P
I’m at work making money, before going to college to further my accounting career! You should try either one of those!
I kid <3
Also, 2 – 1
Message me when I log on later, btw <3
Sorry guys, but yesterday RED dont stay in map to fight vs Gandara and Aurora in our map. We played guild’s event in EB and guild mission. Queue stop us to give help to us people in BB.
Next time, maybe. Because you see a RED tag dont mean that all forces stay in the fight.
Sorry, my english is the worst.
Mossi Norn, RED commander.
PD: Thank TUP, i enjoy that you like double zergball tactic.
We hate zergs, blobs, whatever you want to call them. As a commander for a guild we’ve faced a lot, I assume you know this. A lot of the time we run without a commander tag in order to dissuade others following us. If another guild is doing something we will usually go and do something else. Unfortunately when a large scale fight is going on, such as the likes at garrison at certain times last night and various other towers (northwest for example) other guild’s will want to come and get a piece of the action.
That’s a rank, and doesn’t affect your stats, as in pvp you are automatically level 80 and all gear has the same level of stats.
The wvw ranks give you extra abilities and more strength within various situations, thus more directly similar to the character gaining levels.
It’s like extra levels above level 80, specifically for wvw. Naturally levels on your character aren’t account bound, so that would likely be why.
Aye, Im all for this. Or at least take into account the daylight savings time. The best time we have as a guild is the reset, where we go into wvw for a couple (some for considerably more) hours at reset. Now with the reset being at 1am, it’s something a lot don’t want to do because… Well, a lot are European, thus start later anyway in their time zones, and the majority who only log on for an hour or two now have no incentive to play the reset. As mentioned above, many find this the most fun of the wvw rotation.
I miss civilised competition. All this trolling and flaming is a little unfortunate, given how well the guilds and competitors could get along. It can be very difficult to see things from the opponents point of view, but remember that most people are playing the way they feel is the best for them, their guild and server, and aren’t purposely playing to upset anyone. There will be conflicts in a war based event, naturally, it’s what it’s all about, but there’s no need to insult them for it… They’re all playing the game. The players make the game, let’s make it a game with a good community of players that get along, at least!
Some of the best times I’ve had while commanding have been in battles against XxX and Dius (Two of my favourite guilds of all time, in fact!) and they do things very differently to each other. I can see why XxX wouldn’t be interested in organised GvG, it doesn’t suit their tactical style. That doesn’t make them any less of a force, it’s just how they play. I still remember commanding a fight that went on for a fair while against XxX that nearly made my heart give up from the adrenaline.
The same goes for Baruch Bay, there have been some fantastic moments in the battles against them in the past, as well.
And moving on to this YOLO thing. I don’t get the hate… It was a community server event, by the sounds of things (I wasnt there, I literally got back from holiday late last night and didnt touch wvw), and these are the things that people remember from the communities they work with. Props for celebrating april fools and making an event out of it. Sure, there are times when you look at a blob the size of a small city and you cant help but think “Why?” But this time there certainly seemed to be a reason.
I know this will fall on many deaf ears, but I would definitely like to see more of
“Awesome fight with [x] vs [y] earlier!”
“Yeah, your [z] tactic was awesome!”
and a lot less of
“Lol u only win cos u blob lulz lulz omgwtf /testosteroneoverload”
“wtf circumstantial screenshot ur all noobs!”
I hope to be on the field a lot more this week, since I’ve been pretty busy the past week and a half and have barely been able to make it out for some repair bills! I look forward to some good fights and some good fun, and hope that every time I pay for repairs… It’s not because of how air-headed I can be.
Thanks to BB and RS for the epic fights in AG borderlands this reset TUP had a fantastic time with all the action going on, even when we were down to just defending the garrison! Special shout out to RED for the massive massive battles inside the lords room.
On a side note, I would like to say TUP had no part in the pre-reset activities tonight.
“Platoons? (large groups of organised players)” Wtf? :-D
I threw up in my mouth a little bit, when reading this :-P.
Basically everything +10 is a zerg and I dont remember ever seeing TUP below 20-30 ppl.
I dont get how anybody coukd enjoy culliing the kitten out of eachother, but I wont judge. It’s what ANet gives to the players.
I think we’ve maybe been able to get into the 20s of members 3-4 times in the past few weeks, mainly on reset. With extra models from mesmers, perhaps, we may seem like more? I do, however accept the compliment of feeling like we hit like more than 30, so thank you for that. In all seriousness, I think our average is around 15-18 or so.
At current the culling seems to limit at between 25 and 30 models of allies, and the same again for enemies, so given that we don’t usually run with friendlies, we shouldn’t be culling for anyone.
On tonight, I was leading tup for a few hours and we had some good fun fighting against [CS], [nuke], [red] amongst others. At one point fighting wave after wave of you at bay on the northern plateau, non stop action over a fair period of time, and although we inevitably fell up there against the ferocity of those waves of attacks, we had a blast with the fights and the action. All over a good night to be had!
A big thank you to everyone who we fought, you all really bring the game to life and keep everything exciting and interesting. And of course a big thank you to our home side teams on aurora glade for all the hard work that goes into wvw, you guys really know how to pull your weight and make every evening a good experience.
Just so there’s some statistical basis going on here on the randomness of ectoplasm’s from salvaging.
Last night, I salvaged 7 rares, got 1 ectoplasm in total.
This morning my girlfriend salvaged 3 and got 7 ectoplasm.
This evening I salvaged 4 rares, and got 4 ectoplasm.
This evening my girlfriend salvaged 6 rares and got no ectoplasm.
I’m not going to go saying I’m a statistical genius, but you get the idea of what they can be like. It doesn’t seem to have changed at all since pre patch, in my experience. Of course, these are small numbers Im working with, so they aren’t the best representation!
A quick thank you to everyone we have fought from both Gandara and Riverside over these passed 2 days. We’ve had some good fun, and hope to see you again in the future! And not the distant future at that. We’ll be waiting for you
Plenty of good fights in particular vs XxX when we had more even numbers and less add’s (northwest region outside bay/nw supply camp)
Fighting against you guys has been a pleasure, the Faithleap battle has been one of the best ones i’ve had in quite a long time, fun and challenging as this game should always be. Glad to hear you’ve had a good time too. Much respect.
/salute
We enjoyed the later end of the evening, fighting against you in open ground. We had spent a fair bit of time trying to lure you out with out the other guilds, and without you hiding behind houses to jump us. Unfortunately that didn’t work until later! Stop hiding behind houses! We want proper fights, not assassination attempts! But you did give us something to think about, we became a lot more alert throughout the evening.
That being said, on the even field where the initiative was much more neutral, we had some of the best action we’ve seen in weeks. It gave us a kick as to how much form we lost in the boredom of tier 2, and rest assured we will be back on our A game soon enough.
A big thank you to all of the Gandaran borderlands forces last night, your badges were a welcome addition to the pointlessly huge amount of bank space I’ve lost to them, and every repair bill came with a memory of a good fight.
All of TUP are nubs, and in no way is that view biased…
On topic, nice vid we’ve been thinking of doing something similar to the ending for a while, and you STOLE the idea
So, about this bow…
Just to clarify to those who haven’t noticed, their has been an announcement in the stickies claiming that there will be no points reset this week, the link is:
