Will you still be doing dungeons after nerf?

I generally don’t run dungeons for the gold (the only thing I use gold for is converting it to gems, since I refuse to spend any more real money until they make a 64-bit client). So yeah, I’ll still run dungeons. I just hope that raids will have prestigious rewards. They killed any prestige dungeons had by making the gear obtainable in PvP (only exception now is the clockheart mini).

Razor vs Logitech mice, I need some opinions

I actually had the opposite experience with the m95. The metal base plate is very nice, but doesn’t make up for the shortcomings of the mouse. To me the side buttons felt loose, yet required a firm enough press to likely move the mouse when you use the side buttons. Putting weight from your palm on the right side of the mouse would cause it to tilt, which I found very annoying (haven’t had that problem with Logitech gaming mice). But, the biggest issue I had with Corsair was that they don’t update their software. Several requests have been made since the mouse was released. One important one for me is a rapid click macro. Their software will not let you set clicks as part of the macro. It should be a simple feature to add (both Logitech and Razer support it), but Corsair keeps their 2+ year old software instead. So, sorry, but I can’t recommend Corsair when they won’t keep their software up to date on a flagship mouse.
edit: it was last year that I tried their mouse. I just checked their software, and still the same version (from 9/9/13)

Game crashing during wold bosses

See I have zero crashes with GW2. I built an AMD setup with a 270X 4G. I’ve never had a memory crash or crashes during WB battles. So saying that, “It’s GW2” is a cop out. My previous system with 2 Crossfired 5770s and a Phenom II never had crashing issues either. There is something else going on.

same here. I never crash in this game. It lags like hell sometimes but never crash.

there are a lot of factors involved in why. People should use there event viewer more and try and analyze why they are crashing rather than speculate. Check you logs and see what it says then come with that info and let us discuss it and see if we can find specific reasons other than guessing.

People aren’t speculating; crashes in zergs is 99.9% of the time caused by the memory limit. GW2 has its own crash log. If you check it and it says “OOM” at the top of each crash log, then that means “Out Of Memory.” As others have stated, this is because GW2 is 32-bit, and 32-bit programs are limited to a maximum of 4GB minus space taken by drivers (so this effectively limits it to 3.6GB).

idk why ArenaNet won’t make a 64-bit client. Most of the work can be done by find a replace commands. All I know is that I’m not spending another cent in the gem store unless they do release a 64-bit client. I’ll continue converting gold to gems when I want something (yes, I’ve previously bought gems with money before, but not in over a year).

Anyway, as others have stated, you need to lower settings as a workaround. I usually lower character model limit and character texture quality to medium when I (rarely) do world bosses, and haven’t had problems that way. You just gotta remember to increase it again after you’re done in the zergfest.

What gaming monitor do YOU have/recommend?

I have a Dell U3014. It is one of the best IPS panels available. However, it is very expensive ($1000 when I bought it). Compared to other IPS panels, it generally has better specs all around, and comes pre-calibrated (wide color gamut – true 10-bit color depth – displays more colors than most monitors), and includes a report on the calibration results. It also has a gaming mode, but I haven’t tried it (it completely eliminates the already low input lag, but bypasses signal processing).
note: high end monitors is probably the only thing I’d recommend Dell for.

Also, check some professional reviews for whatever monitors you’re considering. I recommend http://www.tftcentral.co.uk . They do very in depth reviews and provide comparisons to competing monitors.

Razor vs Logitech mice, I need some opinions

avoid both Logitech and razer..they both have issues and poor customer service.

What’s wrong with Logitech’s customer service? I’ve heard, without exaggeration, nothing but good things about it.

Have you ever tried Wireless headsets from Logitech? They aren’t good for audio quality, because they use Radio Frequency for the Wireless technology, rather than Bluetooth or something better. This locks it to at maximum, DVD or CD Quality.

I’ll admit though, Unifying connectors was probably one of Logitech’s best ideas before bluetooth became more popular. Most support requests for Wireless headsets will just have them either tell you to RMA / return it to the retailer, or check drivers. Since they cannot do anything themselves if RF is at fault.

I hate it when people say “CD quality” for crap quality audio. CD is perfect quality audio for stereo sound. So, to say something has CD quality sound means that it has perfect sound quality (for anything stereo, such as headsets). Companies do this with MP3s also, calling it “CD quality” at as low as 128kbps. That is no where near CD quality; Even at 320kbps, I still will not call it CD quality, because it is still compressed with a lossy CODEC.

I still buy CDs (and save them to FLAC format) because I care about my audio quality. I do not purchase MP3s because they are a rip off – they cost more per track, for lower quality audio, and come with no physical media (books which include art in the very least, and often official lyrics). MP3s should not cost more than $0.50.

Sorry about the rant. I just hate seeing comments saying CD quality to describe low quality audio.

Anyway, I’d go with Logitech. I’ve never had a problem with their mice. That being said, I haven’t had a Razer mouse; I have had a Razer keyboard though, and it worked well, but the plastic felt cheap and would creak if you pressed on the edges. I have had problems with Corsair and some other brands though.

edit: I have a Logitech G502, and it is an excellent mouse. Optical mice always feel better than laser mice to me.

they’re not talking about double clicking an item from the inventory list within the bank window. they’re talking about double clicking while both the bank window and the main inventory window are open. It has not been this way since launch. I always salvage rares/exotics with both windows (well, inventory and bank within the crafting station) open and it has not been an issue until the recent change that lets you continue use of the salvage kit after confirming a salvage. I thought I lost 2 black lion kits, so thanks for pointing out that they got moved back to the bank.

Really, it’s more something like this: make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource) in an unethical/inacceptable/etc. way

And I learned all three phases today and got him solo with my guard, you really need to know everything or you die. I see no reason to forbid this in solo runs, unless we also forbid the war to use his broken healing signet and solo access to might.

I mean, yeah, we could also just say all solo runs must be done by a warrior, since his class mechanics can’t be """exploited""", some warrior mains here seem to would like that. x)

If you take away our reflect, take away their might and tankyness. Easy as that.

The reflect itself isn’t the problem. Its where you place the reflect that is the problem. A reflect placed on the ground is perfectly acceptable, as it is the intended mechanic. The only way you can compare WoRsploit to being tanky is by comparing it to people safespotting (such as at Ancient Ooze). Both WoRsploit and safespotting is considered exploiting (community definition).
Furthermore, reflect isn’t the only thing guard can do. They can provide party wide aegis also, as well as blinding/pulling trash mobs. Warriors are really great for party offensive buffs, but they can’t take the place of a guard for party defenses.

I agree. but even if they can’t selectively disable the confirmation for specific items, such as potions, they should at least add an option to purchase multiple at a time (like you can for obsidian shards). That being said, they won’t change it because it has to do with dungeons and they won’t intentionally change anything for dungeons.

I think there needs to be more exclusive skins. It sucks that they made dungeon armor available via PvP reward tracks (yet, PvP still gets exclusive stuff though). I think any new dungeon/fractal armors need to be exclusive to that content. It shows you actually did something to earn the armor. It is entirely cosmetic, just like gem store items, so it makes no difference stat wise for the player base.

In fact, I think there needs to be more rewards like Aetherpath’s Clockheart mini, which requires a bit more effort to get. It would be great if there was an exclusive set of armor like this, but where you’d get on piece per dungeon for completing the achievement set. Furthermore, I also think challenge mode would be great – maybe get a backpiece for completing all the challenge modes.

It depends on what you’re looking for. Personally, I can’t stand looking at TN panels for very long. However alot of gamers (including most pros) prefer them because they are faster. The advantages of TN are just speed and price. They tend to suffer when it comes to viewing angles (cheap ones are the worst – any view but dead center will cause contrast and color shifts), color accuracy, color depth, and to a lesser extent contrast ratios (true contrast ratio, dynamic contrast is BS used to inflate their numbers). I very much prefer IPS panels. The drawbacks of IPS panels are price and speed, but they’re so much more pleasant to look at.
My monitor is a Dell u3014 (monitors are one of the few things I’d actually recommend Dell for, at least at their top end).

Decide what is important to you, then check various review sites. I recommend http://www.tftcentral.co.uk – they post very in depth reviews, covering anything you’d be looking for in a monitor. From what I’ve read (its been awhile), Asus, BenQ, and NEC tend to rate very well overall. Dell rates well at their mid to high end monitors.

Outside of combat, I slot in toolkit because its the main one thats useful for running and won’t put me in combat. The trait is annoying in combat (dungeons) too because if you swap to bombs at the wrong time, you’ll give the boss defiance. There are a few situation where the extra effect can be useful, but for the most part I’d rather not have the extra effect at all.

Also, if you can’t get a group on the lfg, SE2 is soloable. I find it best to just do the path yourself, but keep the lfg up in case someone eventually wants to join.

To work around the OOM error, lower character model limit and quality to medium when you do zerg events. Annoying, I know, but apparently ArenaNet has no intention of making a 64 bit client to properly fix this issue – HoT requirements still just say Windows (doesn’t say 64 bit).

It is true. If your framerate goes over 60fps on you monitor, you’ll get screen tearing. There are 2 option to choose. First is vsync, this will prevent tearing from happening at all, but can result in artificially low framerate. The other option is to set the fps limiter. This doesn’t always prevent tearing, but will reduce the stress on your gpu (and therefore reduce the heat it throws into your room). Personally, I always set vsync – screen tearing drives me nuts, especially when it the diagonal kind.

I think gadgeteer should always be active, not require charges (and not require tanking the hits). The trait is just not viable (at least not for PvE) right now, especially compared to the other 2 options – adrenal implant is nice for when you need to dodge often (unfortunately it doesn’t stack with vigor), and a skilled player can make good use of kinetic battery (orbital strike might only hit as hard as a bomb, but remember it counts as a blast finisher and can be traited to strike twice with each activation). I do think it would be better to have the kinetic batter buff last indefinitely, as gadgeteer currently does.

ASUS PA238Q or LG 24GM77

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Rainmaker.7594

Rainmaker.7594

TN panels only advantages are speed and price. IPS is superior in every other way – more accurate colors, better viewing angles, better native contrast ratio. While its true that TN panels have gotten somewhat better over the years (really only true on the high end panels), the downsides are still there. We have a better TN panel where I work, and it’s contrast/color shifts when viewing off center aren’t as bad as they used to be, it is still almost impossible to see some slight shading differences if you’re not viewing at the perfect angle, and if you are at the good angle its still not as easy to see as on an IPS panel due to lower color accuracy. I will likely never buy another TN panel for personal use because the downsides would drive me nuts.

As far as Asus vs LG goes, I’d go with Asus because all their stuff tends to be top notch for the price.

Med kit nerfed or buffed?

in Engineer

Posted by: Rainmaker.7594

Rainmaker.7594

Does anybody else feel like med kit was nerfed more than it was buffed?

New med kit
Pro:
•ground targeted without having to trait it
•more healing bandages
•each bandage applies a buff in addition to healing

Con:
•each bandage heals half what it used to
•bandages only stay deployed 12 seconds, which is much less than they used to
•healing power still has little affect, less than a 50% increase in full exotic cleric’s armor and trinkets

Notes:
•med kit bandages are different from supply crate’s med pack drop. med packs still heal the amount they used to.
•2 of the bandage skills are on a shorter cd, the other 2 are on a longer cd than the old med kit.

Between the weaker bandages and low amount of time they stay deployed, this makes things like the orb solo in arah much harder to pull off. The buffs are single target, making it not really worth taking in group content either. I think they need to at least increase the healing to the old numbers, and make healing power have a larger affect. I can understand the reasoning behind nerfing the deployed time, but not the reasoning behind the reduced healing.

Engi orb of light solo, post specializations

Rainmaker.7594

I’ve uploaded a new video to show how to do the orb of light (Arah, p3&4) as an engineer. Its much more difficult to pull off now, and probably not worth doing outside of full solo runs.

http://youtu.be/y1LsExPv0nc

directions (also posted in vid description):
It is still possible to solo the orb of light in Arah (path 3&4) without consumables, but it is much more difficult.

pre-requisites:
•cleric’s gear (or other gear with healing power, but not vitality)
•important traits: gadgeteer, streamlined kits, and mecha legs
•skills: med kit, AED, rocket boots, slick shoes, elixir gun, and supply crate

steps:
1)proc the overcharged boon from gadgeteer – i recommend using the trash at the beginning of the dungeon. There seems to be no time limit on the boon, and waypointing doesn’t strip it. After getting it, be careful to avoid the temptation to use rocketboots to get back to the orb faster.
2)equip the following skills: med kit, rocket boots, elixir gun, and supply crate.
3)use med pack drop (supply crate toolbelt skill) just past half way down the path for the second orb.
4)when there is 20 sec left on the timer for med pack drop, cast the 4 medkit bandages just past the first rock sticking up after the globe. be careful of the npc, they can steal the bandages.
5)change healing skill to AED while making your way to the globe.
6)equip elixir gun, and cast super elixir
7)activate the dialog from the globe. cast acid leap and immediately take the orb.
8)pick up the bandages, then use rocket boots (if you use rocket boots first, you’ll likely go over the bandages, not collecting them).
9)cast super speed, AED, and healing mist at 30% health.
10)pick up the med packs, and cast a second set far ahead of you.
11)use rocket boots and place the orb in the globe.

Gaming Mouse?

in Engineer

Posted by: Rainmaker.7594

Rainmaker.7594

While it shouldn’t be a problem for GW2, keep in mind, for other games, most wireless mice (g602 included) are slower than wired mice. In the case of the g602, the max dpi is 2500, and coupled with a low max acceleration can cause some problems when speed is required. While the report rate is half that of a wired gaming mouse, it is still considerably better than non-gaming mice, and shouldn’t be an issue for any game.

I haven’t looked much into wireless mice, but the g700s caught my attention when I was searching for my next mouse. The forward laser put me off it though. Other than that, it seems to be a good mouse. It can run in wired or wireless mode, has extra buttons (more than the g502, but less than the g602), and a decent speed all around, and runs off a standard AA NiMH battery, so I can use my Eneloops and not have to worry about lower capacity, higher cost, propriety Li-Ion batteries.

If wireless is a feature that you really want, hopefully somebody else here can give you some more pointers, as I tend to avoid wireless stuff (I’d keep the g700s in wired mode most of the time if I got it).

Also, be sure to check some of the more professional reviews of the mice you’re considering, in addition to a few user reviews on Amazon/Newegg. There are also other brands to consider if you don’t like Logitech or Razer (I had a Razer keyboard, it felt cheap, but lasted a couple years before the rubber started to wear off the keys). Amazon has a large selection to look at.

Gaming Mouse?

in Engineer

Posted by: Rainmaker.7594

Rainmaker.7594

I’ve tried a few of the mice mentioned.

I’ll start with saying don’t get a Corsair mouse. I recently got the m95 and sent it back. They don’t update their software – current software version is almost 2 years old now, and doesn’t support a function that i got the mouse for – rapid click, despite it being requested since the mouse was released. The aluminum plate and higher price tag might make you think it is has better quality hardware, but the one I received had a balance issue – putting pressure on the right side of the mouse would make it tilt; it wasn’t sturdy. Also the side buttons required enough force that you’d likely move the mouse trying to use the buttons, and the 2 bottom buttons were loose on the z axis. The sensor is the same as in alot of other mice also.

I had a Logitech g500 before that (replaced a mx518 when one of the feet fell off several years ago). I’ve had the g500 for about 2 years and it is still working fine. The only complaints I have about it are:
1) The left mouse button was far too easy to press. I accidentally clicked on several occasions.
2) I don’t like the position of the laser sensor. They have it placed towards the front of the mouse. There were just certain things I couldn’t do with it up there, such as turning the mouse slightly for slower movement, rather than changing the dpi for just 2 sec. Most people probably won’t be bothered by the sensor position though.

Before getting the g500, I tried a Cooler Master Storm Inferno. It didn’t work well on my desk (neither the black glass, nor the textured glossy black keyboard tray). Whoever came up with the idea that laser sensors work on more surfaces than optical sensors if full of it – I’ve never had a problem with optical sensors, the only thing they don’t work on is clear glass in my experience. It worked pretty well on a piece of paper on my desk, but wasn’t about to keep paper on my tray to use a mouse, so I sent i back.

My current mouse (just got it yesterday) is a Logitech g502. It has the best sensor available (not available in other brands) – 12k native dpi, its optical (IR, so not visible), and its placed properly in the middle of the mouse. The buttons are easy to press, but not so easy that they accidentally get pressed. The scroll wheel is metal and has an unlock button for fast web page scrolling (I’ve only seen this feature on Logitech mice). The wheel also clicks left and right, which you can program to do something else, but I never use this function. It has 1 more button than the g500 did, located behind the scroll wheel lock, which I’ve set up for rapid click (for clearing stacks of luck). The other buttons are – 2 dpi buttons next to the left click button, forward and back button, and a sniper button. All buttons, except the scroll wheel lock, are fully programmable (note: for some actions, such as rapid click, you must put the mouse in software mode in the logitech manager, not hardware memory). This is easy the best mouse I’ve ever used (I might try a Naga/g600 style mouse one day, but the sensor is just the standard laser one).

If you have any questions about the mice I’ve tried, let me know. But, I’ll say that Logitech mice have been very good in my experience.

As for my bindings regarding engineer kits:
skill 7) rebound to z
skill 8) rebound to x
skill 9) set the sniper button to activate this one
elite) shift and sniper button
dodge) back button
skill 5 – for jump shot) forward button
heal) middle mouse button

One last note: it was mentioned that you can program entire skill chains as a macro – This is against the rules, and can get your account banned.

The DPS drop for Celestial

I used to (and rarely still do) run full celestial. From my personal experience, the damage difference can be large or insignificant depending on what you’re fighting.
Note: I don’t run the meta build, bombs are my main damage kit

Examples from my experience (solo):
Belka – full assassin’s is 30% better for me.
Labyrinthine Horror – seemed to make no difference whether I ran celestial or berserker gear.

Also gotta keep in mind bosses reduce Condi duration – flamethrower alone won’t keep 100% burn uptime. And trash usually melts faster than condis have enough time to do meaningful damage.

That being said, run what you want in PvE. Celestial is better than most other armor stats, just not better than full dps sets (berserker, assassin, rampage, or sinister)

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Rainmaker.7594

Rainmaker.7594

I agree with Wethospu. Necrid bolt hitting in melee isn’t a bug, but its a bug fix. It made no sense for him to be using that attack when there is no target at range, and hitting nothing. Now he still uses it, but it hits its target. That was probably a faster fix than making him use melee attacks as auto-attacks (kick/swipe in all phases), though allowing his other melee attacks more often, and in all phases, would make the fight more interesting.

WoRsploit on the other hand is something that needs to be fixed, and should’ve been a higher priority than fixing necrid bolt. It shouldn’t be possible to take off 75% of a boss’ health with one skill. This goes for coordinated feedback also. I don’t think they should make his attacks unblockable, but make it so it takes little damage from his own attacks.

Lastly, while making Lupi a tougher fight is good in that it makes all Arah explorable paths harder, I think they need to look into making the other Arah bosses better… Maybe give Ancient Ooze a rapid fire projectile attack (or allow it to use the attack that it uses when it splits, throughout the whole fight, as an additional attack), and place a dozen risen illusionists on the safespot, and any safespots discovered in the future. I’ve gotten into the habit of luring those 4 risen at the start of the room after Ancient Ooze to the safespot, in case anyone gets the idea to try to safespot my “NO EXPLOITS” lfg discription group. Tar will already be getting more interesting when the burning changes come. But, I think the end bosses especially need to be modified to be much tougher.

I don’t have a vid of it, but the best i’ve seen with the orb is it targeting me after I wp back to the entrance (due to getting knocked into it and dying first). And of course, sometimes she rapid fires the orb.

glue shot, not that i’m suggesting off hand pistol should ever be used in dungeons, just saying that skill is terrible. glue bomb is superior in every way if you need an AOE immob for something. usually you just need single target, which net shot is much better for.

I don’t have the time to test this right now, but since they can be critted on, can they crit on stuff too. Specifically, does fortified turrets now crit?

I get an error message alot lately when I try to post my lfg in Arah saying that my message was suppressed due to excessive messaging. The error is that I’m only re-posting when my initial post times out (due to the fact that I won’t allow WoRspoit in my runs, and it seems you have no intention of fixing that either). I don’t mind having to solo ooze and entities when people won’t join because they still want to safe spot ooze, but tar isn’t soloable (require 4 minimum to spawn it).

That was really fun to watch. There were a few times where you broke out of his bubble and I didn’t know how. Didn’t seem like you had stability or anything. Any tips?

From what I noticed, he was using elixir s (stability/invuln) or just avoiding it because it is currently bugged in that it doesn’t trace you character any more (you can just run forward to avoid it). Also, as alternatives, as Purple Miku said, you can use mobility skills. Before the bug, I’d use overcharged shot to get out. A long time ago, I used to use rocket boots just to escape the dome.

But anyway, good job on the solo. I’ve failed the times that I’ve tried.

Looks good for the most part. As others have said, it is best to go for either 1600 or 1866 RAM, and low latency too if its in your budget. G.Skill is, in my opinion, the best brand of RAM out there right now for low latency out of the box. With that processor, you should be able to reduce it to 1t command rate.

A warning about Gigabyte motherboards: their fan controller is crap. Make sure to get PWM fans, or you won’t be able to control the speed at all, unless either using a seperate fan controller or a resistor cable (which will just force it to always run at a lower speed). Also, be sure to update your BIOS first thing because some of their default BIOS will try to fry your processor with much too high voltage.

About the recommendation for a faster display. Don’t listen. Faster panels are generally TN displays, which are terrible for everything other than speed and price. They have bad display colors, horrible viewing angles (color/contrast shifts when not at the perfect viewing spot), bad black levels, etc. Besides, at that resolution, most good (and current) games won’t likely see more than 60fps very much, if you want highest graphics settings. I switched away from cheap TN panels years ago, and will likely never go back to them. My current monitor is a Dell U3014 (2560×1600) – yes, monitors are something Dell actually does well (at least the high end ones anyway).

condition cap

P/P is already very viable unless you’re talking about PvEsports in which case it wouldn’t really make a difference since the only intensity stacked condition that it applies is bleeds and is very terrible at doing so!

Wahoo! Bye frands!

It stacks confusion too. With the PvE boost, confuse is actually powerful against faster attacking enemies. But still, p/p is much weaker than the other options.
For off hand: Glue shot is pathetic. Blow torch is decent, but outshined by firebomb. The shield skills are generally a much better choice, if you want main hand pistol.
For main hand: auto-attack is terrible unless you can stack groups of enemies together and use the trait for pistol shots pierce. But, this is useful in very few situations. Grenades and elixir gun are both better at stacking bleeds. Pistol 2 can be a good source of poison (but grenades can perma poison even bosses) and does moderate damage. Lastly, static shot: it can be useful for a little extra confusion if you bounce it between 2 enemies and combine it with pry bar and concussion bomb.
Overall though, rifle is generally preferred for PvE (of course with kits being the main dps) because it does much more damage.

Nice, and good music to go with it. Blind Guardian, right? I need to listen to more of their stuff – I mostly just know Mirror Mirror and Sacred Worlds (and their Demons & Wizards co-op with Iced Earth).

OMG you have to listen to all of their material, it’s so good. They were actually NPC’s in Sacred 2, and that was probably the best part of that game, given the studio went out of business…

Yeah, thats how I originally really listened to Blind Guardian, and I agree, the in game concert was the best part of the game for me. Game play was decent too in that game, though I didn’t care for the first Sacred much. I think a newer Sacred came out, but I haven’t played it yet.

Anyway, I’m think of trying this on engi. Any tips, besides camping grenades from max range? I’d rather stay in melee with bombs if possible, but I don’t think I’ll have enough defense for that – perma vigor only goes so far.

I see only 2 ways how they can “fix” lupi. Make him stationary (meh) or make his aoe unblockable (lol i want to see this).

or, anytime he is stuck (whether on a wall or uneven terrain), make him kick, then teleport to the middle of the room and use his AOE.

I’ve been having it happen to me alot. I put my post up, but its late at night and nobody else apparently wants to do arah legit. I post for no exploits and melee lupi off wall. The post times out after awhile, so I re-post, usually after finishing a boss. Lately, I’ve been getting an error saying my message was suppressed due to excessive messaging. It doesn’t let me post anymore until after I leave my instance, destroying my progress. They really need to fix this. I don’t wanna get stuck letting people in my group who want to WoRsploit.

I’ve solo’d him several times, most often when the rest of the party wipes, but a few times entirely by myself, and he does indeed move to be able to use his rapid fire attack, unless he is stuck on the uneven terrain. You sort of have a point about the slower players though. But I’d still consider it exploiting because he can’t move the way he is programmed to when he is on the wall; stuck on uneven terrain is just glitchy design, unless you are intentionally getting him stuck on it. Disabling movement is only not an exploit if you are using mechanic intended to have just that effect (such as immob, deep freeze, etc).
