I rarely used it before but now all I see in WvW are condi thieves and Rangers and would really like a reflect that wasn’t Feedback (stationary wall type). Even if it got a slight rework like, reflect projectiles and gain a random boon every time you are attacked (while channelling the skill), 25 second cooldown or higher. It also looked really cool…

or even, absorb all projectiles for 4 seconds and reactivate to return ALL the damage. It would have to have an obvious animation (big purple butterfly of justice?).

This was meant to be like 1 sentence but ahh well.

I made this build and I feel it does really well in Spvp. The idea is to soft CC the enemy into oblivion. This build has crazy amounts of cripple and chill and with the bonus damage from the parrot summon can dish out so dardy DPS.

It is good in teamfights and solo. A really good thing to do it blast/leap through your frost trap to give yourself, pet and parrot, and team frost armor which can be really powerful.

Yea the blink is a bummer, but I did move 10 points from dueling and add them to Chaos for Chaotic interruption. This seems to work very well for also more interrupt synergy but also for decapping points (temporal curtain pulls them off the point and immobilizes them).

I live in a town in Australia where my internet connection is not… awesome. Sometimes it disconnects and when that happens it take around 10 minutes to boot up again. Yesterday it was around 43 degrees and my router kept over heating and dying on me.

I do not think this dishonorable debuff is the best solution to 4v5’s. Sure I get punished for a hot router but so do the 4 people that didn’t disconnect. There is an extremely high chance they will lose and there is nothing they can do about it. I don’t know what would be a better alternative but if you looked hard enough I’m pretty sure there would be a solution.

Maybe add a ‘regroup’ option (where the 4 person team can activate it) where the points stop, everyone gets ported back to their base and it searches for another team mate. Then they start up again.

This is a build I have been running in SPvp and I think it works well. I just want to know if there is anyway I can make it more useful for my team and I or anything that will generally improve it. The build focuses on giving my team boons/condi removal and protecting them from projectiles.

I'm sorta new to mesmer and would like tips.

I said ‘nifty things’, as in if someone is rezzing an enemy you can dodge over them and daze instantly, or if someone is finishing a team mate off you can dodge and daze. To add pressure you could also illusionary leap to an enemy and dodge before using ‘swap’ and you can apply weakness or bleed which can reduce incoming damage or apply condi pressure.

I feel their cooldowns are too high. Veil is a 3 second stealth on a 90 second cooldown? Mass Invisibility is a bit better with a 5 second stealth by I feel like it needs more to be worthy of an elite, like remove 1 condition per second for 5 seconds?

Apparently you can upgrade ascended rings to have a base +5 AR then you can infuse them for another +5 AR? I have been looking all over the webs and I have no idea how to do it. I just finished fractal 19 last night then went on to do 20 but agony killed me instantly.

Also how do you avoid agony on the final Molten boss? As soon as I walk onto the platform I get it and die instantly!

Yea I really wish they would change how our signets work… Why are we the only class who needs a GrandMaster trait to use our signets? Other classes get GrandMaster traits to keep the passives when they use their signets!

With the December 10th change with the trait ‘enlargement’ if you have the Signet of the BeastMaster Trait apparently the enlargement will also affect you. Does this mean we get 10 seconds of stability, +25% damage and also +50% Movement speed when we go below 25% HP? If so that would be pretty awesome. (After patch we can also finish people and rez people while it is active).

Wouldn’t it be better if it was just an instant cast shout that just stealthed your pet and gave it protection. That way you could instantly react if your pet was about to take some serious damage.

I main ranger and there is no practical use for this skill. What is it for? It is a shout with a cast time that makes you pet guard something? Why? What is there to guard?

Also please don’t say “It’s used for perma regen and swiftness because of its low cool down” because that doesn’t answer my question, doing that just makes it a trait activator whilst ignoring its main effect/mechanic.

Just thought of this but, how about Gauntlet things, Magical Gloves, Knuckle things… Glove type things… I’m not sure what they would be named. But Mesmers could use them in main hand and have a skill like the force in star wars where you pick someone up and push them away with ‘The Force’. Engi’s could have them as a close range weapon and have like a spring boxing glove come out, and just punch people. Guardians could use them and like hulk smash the ground which send shock waves to the enemy. Or Elementalists already have there attunement effects around their hands, they could have fire punch, ice punch… all those good pokemon skills.

Anyway just thought this would be a cool weapon to add to the game, seeing as I wish mesmer had another main hand weapon and engis/eles could go hand-to-hand combat.

Or a whip, whips could be cool too.

Make it so the skill is in 2 parts. When you push it once it stealth’s you for 3 seconds (doesn’t shoot an arrow, always stealth’s you). When you push it the second time it immobilises the enemy for 2 – 3 seconds.

Just add an in game voice chat so you can speak with you teammates and form plans and strategies. Make it so you can mute yourself or anyone else in the team, it would just be good to have this tool there if anyone wanted to use it. The End.

Why did TP(Team Curse) get to participate in the first place then?

Apparently Xeph asked MistLeague if he could join and they replied yes. It was only after that did Anet go over the legal stuff and then not allow it.

If they were banned, why? I think the 100% deserve to be in the finals and if for some reason they aren’t, I think that is a big mistake.

edit: Well looks like they were disqualified, very disappointing. Team Curse were the best and proved themselves, being disqualified after they had won the preliminary is just… not good. Well I’m sorry, and sure hundreds of people hope you continue to compete in future competitions and we will keep supporting you.

I’m not 100% sure how we could get this to work, but I was thinking with our traits we could change around the stat distributions and a few traits. The top line (Marksmanship) instead of giving power and condition duration, change it so it gives Power and Pet Attribute Bonus’s. Then make the bottom line (Beastmastery) give Healing Power and Condition Duration. I know this messes with the ‘Class Specific trait line at the bottom’ but I think it would do more good than bad.

This way if we want to go full damage we aren’t ‘hindered’ by our class mechanic, because if we want to start hitting more so do our pets.

Also traits would have to be slightly changed a bit.
- Our offensive pet skills (+30% pet crit damage/ speed, might on crit, pets gain might when swapped) move to the Marksmanship line.
- The signet traits (gain 3 stacks of might when activating a signet, recharge faster, gain signet actives) move to the skirmishing trait line.
- The trap traits could either move to the new ‘Beastmastery’ trait line or go to the Wilderness Survival Line.

That’s all I have at the moment, but I think doing something like this would benefit the class greatly.
Renaming the trait line ‘Marksmanship’ to something like ‘Companionship’ or something to give the feel thakittens a line for you and your pet.

Anyway post your ideas down so we can all see if this idea has any potential.

Does the number 6 on Superior Runes of Water actually work? I have been jumping off cliffs and fighting chieftan for about half an hour now and can not see it working.

I would gladly sacrifice bleed on maul and get a blast finisher instead.

i like the suggestion for a new skill, but i’d rather merge current LB 2 and 3, then 3 and 4. Simply because adding vulerability/hit is more advantageous then knocking someone 2 miles away, just so the vulnerability will be almost gone once you start shooting the enemy.

Our traits aren’t too bad and more skills and traits are soon to be added so I think some adjustments to our weapon skills would be a good place to start.

SWORD
Skill 1. Make the auto attack not root you in place, make it so it feels like the thief sword auto.
Skill 2. Personally I don’t mind this one but an improvement could be remove the roll backwards part. Make it so you just leap forward and maybe add the 1 second evade in there as well. This would make it more of a gap closer and less of a roll backward then forward for no reason.
Skill 3. Make it so it is easier to hit people with it. It is a good skill I just personally struggle to land the hit.

AXE
I find this weapon overall good except maybe allow players to move while using Whirling Defence (5) sort of like warriors but less damage.

GREATSWORD
Make it when you go for the Crippling Throw (skill 4 after block) you don’t get rooted in place. When you want to cripple someone so you can catch up, it doesn’t help when you can’t move.

DAGGER
I find this weapon good, maybe increase the amount of bleed skill 5 puts on but otherwise all good.

TORCH
Make it so you can ground target Bonfire (skill 5), allowing us to throw it on enemies rather than run into a group fight and take damage.

SHORTBOW
Make the auto attack bleed no matter where you are standing. I just find it silly how we have to be behind the enemy in order to bleed them.

LONGBOW
Skill 1. Take away the distance changing damage thing. It should hit the same amount at 1500 range even when at 100 range.
Skill 2. Good the way it is but would now add 10 stacks of vulnerability on the first hit. (merged with old skill 3)
New Skill 3. Make this Barrage (previously skill 5) and make it so you can move while casting it.
Skill 4. Leave point blank shot as it is.
Skill 5. New Skill / I think this new skill should be like the warriors rifle f1 ability Kill Shot. You become immobile while using it, it takes 4 seconds to charge up to maximum power then you can shoot it. However long you hold it down though will determine its projectile speed and power, if you hold it down for the full 4 seconds it could hit say, 8k and if you hold it down for 1 second, 2-3k. Also for every second you charge up the skill it adds 2-3 seconds to the cooldown.

I agree on the utilities, the #1 thing that keeps me from playing my ranger more is the total lack of unique things, I mean sure, traps and preps COULD HAVE been ours but they wanted to give thieves traps too (not against that) and then give them the prep skills we had (wtf Anet), spirits are, for all intents and purposes, banners, I’d love for my spirit to essentially be a “field” IE: Storm Spirit creates a lightning storm around it causing damage to enemies and giving swiftness to allies, Sun Spirit fills an area with intense light and heat causing burn and blind every second to enemies and might to allies etc.

I’m gonna keep playing my ele until my ranger gets some more interesting skills, or at the very least our auto attacks become awesome, I would do horrible and unspeakable things for LB1 to become Crip Shot….

I love that idea for spirits, would make them a lot more useful and interesting in group fights.
