It is what it is, and it is but a doodle! It is also now stuck to my monitor at work.
I need to play more. . . Still in love with the Charr design, though. This is just a quick, fun little take on my female Charr engineer. I know it’s just a ballpoint pen doodle on a post it note, but I like how it turned out!
The first is my main, Rhase the Charr-ming Engineer with my favorite NPC playing dress up. Don’t mind her silly costume. (she’s on the right, for the non-whispers crowd) Also no, I will not stop using that silly pun ever.
The second is my first alt, Rosencrantz, previewing the set she would like to wear one day. In a different color, but still. Awesome tribal/seer vibe for the elementalist.
I’m a fan of the cheetah face. :x
I noticed this as well haha
I want the ability to zoom out further, please. Being a large character makes the insanely clingy camera frustrating rather often. Jumping puzzles immediately come to mind.
Same issue. Apparently I need to use 15 characters to say this. here you go.
BUMP I really would like to know the same, for my Charr Elementalist.
I always thought instead of costing a large amount of gold, it would make more sense if it cost a ridiculous amount of badges. That way if nothing else, it would require you to spend a lot of time in WvW to get the title/position, and one would hope that within that time span you actually learned a few tricks.
As a female Charr, RAAAAAARGH! UGH UGH!! RAAAAAAAARGH!
I particularly want the part where the guy pelvic thrusts in the elevator. You know, for science and roleplaying, not taunting people in WvW, I sweeeear.
Hehe, but seriously, I would use the base dance emote all the time. Heck, make it for sale for Gems. I’d buy it.
Deja vu, I sign x2!
As a charr, even of the tiniest variety, I sign this. It makes jumping puzzles PvC (player versus camera). The difference in puzzle difficulty between my “itty bitty” kitty and my small sylvari is immense.
Simply making the camera able to zoom further out would help with the big character issue, I imagine.
@ Andrew: Fair enough. I never played a trooper. Just the imp classes before I quit. When the FTP starts I’ll be checking out pub side! Thus far I’ve yet to have a single “ERMAHGERD!” moment in GW2 from the story, though. A couple chuckles about apples and fear of undead cattle, but nothing that gave me goosebumps like TOR.
Story isn’t GW2’s strong point, imo. But it makes up for it in other aspects, as previously mentioned. Combat is superb.
^ I strongly disagree. :p
“Oh and STORY… they beat Bioware SWTOR at their own game. The story (atleast so far) is amazing! Unlike SWTOR they didn’t VO the side quests etc, spent that time on creating content. Smart move.”
You didn’t play TOR, did you? Guild wars didn’t even come close to scratching TOR’s storytelling. Not in content, delivery, characters, choices, or any aspect. Not really bashing Anet here, either. If there’s one thing Bioware does VERY well, it’s tell a story. Play an imperial agent, then get back to me on your opinion.
Sorry, people give TOR a lot more crap than it deserves. Back on topic:
The things I’ll give Anet:
The combat system is more fun than any MMO I’ve ever played, by a long shot. Anet nailed not needing 500 abilities and 80 different macros to make combat engaging. Feels more like an action game and I loved that.
Art direction. I don’t even think I need to expand on that.
To all the Wolf’s Rain fans:
I saw a Sylvari named Cheza.
Woah wait. OP, so they added a DR to loot? I already hated Orr with a passion for not being able to walk 3 feet in the zone without aggroing 3-6 mobs. Now they won’t even drop loot? ._.
And the endgame PvE is my alternative to PvP when WvW (My pvp poison o’ choice) is FUBAR’d for the week? Skyrim. Soooooo much skyrim this week! xD
It’s a good thing there’s no monthly sub for this game. .-.
It isn’t possible to xfer to full, and america only has 2 non high pop servers. ^
To be fair, xferring NEVER should have been free.
Sure, but not very frequently. The huge upside of no monthly fee. No “obligation” to log in when bored.
My only beef with NSP is you have a few stray players who like to “beat people when they’re down”, trash talking the losers for daring to fight against them in a horribly hopeless matchup. I know you aren’t ALL like that, but it’s incredibly unsportsmanlike.
Hey at least there’s that. Mine’s even dead in the level 80 zones, nevermind the rest of the world.
Heh, if what you say is true maybe my server will bleed itself dry of thekittenhards you describe. But I feel like the opposite has happened; anyone who cares about WvW has left.
Regardless I agree with your point. Free xfers upset balance.
Edit: lol good luck figuring out what was kitten bleeped. I did not expect that word to be on the naughty list. xD
Apparently I’m the only person who keeps getting stuck in the mountains and hills and wherever else sneaky holes lay in wait, since a search brought up no topics asking for a /stuck.
Yes, technically I can port out, but at 80 it gets expensive. Especially when it is the map that is flawed and it really isn’t a player’s fault if they get caught in it. Would coding a /stuck be a possibility?
This happens a lot more often than I should like to admit. I am alt tabbed stuck in a hole as we speak. Save kitties from holes please. ._.
Signed. I hate talking to stupid NPCs with boring flavor text in the middle of an event where stuff is going on and I’m trying to loot as I fight, haha. It’s just like, yes, NPC, I’m aware that something is going on and if you’d stop chatting on the battlefield, you’d notice that I am, in fact, already helping you! xD
I agree that rewards aren’t necessary for fun. However between WvW and Orr …. “endgame” has not been fun for me. Levelling sure. But there’s nothing fun about max level so far. >.<
Still looking for something enjoyable, though. There’s a handful more options to sift through. Failing that there’s no monthly fee and the levelling experience was worth $60. So whatever I guess.
Then I logged in this afternoon to see blue already has nearly QUADRUPLE our score and control of the entire map. (42k to 11k to 13k) OVERNIGHT.
But those 5 hours were the most fun I’ve had in WvW. It literally kept me awake til 2:30 am my time. Are any servers at all experiencing close matchups? This steamroll crap totally ruins any form of fun, and now that I’ve tasted the edge of your seat every-camp-matters type of gameplay WvW should ALWAYS be, I want more.
It’s actually quite depressing to think about how much work we put into holding a slight edge over the other teams last night. And now it’s completely irrelevent. The leaders capped all 3 orbs overnight and have them in insanely defended keeps (we breached one such keep twice last night, but the entire interior was nothing but arrowcarts and death. I hit the keeplord once, we were THAT close.)
I hate to be a debbie downer, but it’s hard to NOT give up. I never used to, but I’m finding that it’s always the same old kittenpoop and it’s not gonna change no matter how much I try. On top of low morale, there’s no way in hell we can take it back when they have all three orbs in such a guarded position.
The buff is too strong combined with their fortifications, so now it’s likely just going to be another week of getting slaughtered. And red keeps attacking us instead of them in a weak attempt to even stay on the board. So we’ll just squabble uselessly back and forth and accomplish nothing, while blue goes on to a 300k score.
Big server people come in and say “stop whining” because they’rekitten off waiting in a long Q, small server people come in and say “just have fun!” as they take supply from keeps to build flame rams on randomkitten hills, alt tabbed in the forums. Meh I would rather just not play.
Thanks for entertaining my rant.
I’m in Orr now, and wondering if my server is just completely dead or what. I cannot do any events because I’m the only one there, and while there’s a little chatter in the map nobody is interested in actually doing anything. The high priest boss is impossible it seems for us. I tried twice and our best attempt was still above 3/4 health. That attempt we had a good chunk of people too, but nowheres near what we apparently needed. Everyone just laying around dead and taking up time of others rezzing probably wasn’t helpful either.
Are all server experiences this crappy? Cuz it really makes me hate the zone. I can’t do anything but fight hordes of undead I want to avoid. Actually just porting back to a lowbie zone now. No fun, no fun and all it is doing is costing me silver.
Boring isn’t the word I’d use. Frustrating fits better.
I have a hard time believing WvW is balanced when the winner is always massively outscoring the other 2 opponents. Spawn camping and other morale crushing tactics are what cause people to lose interest in even trying; they just take the free transfer to a gravy train server where the Qs are full and they tend to win. Even when my server wins, the other two servers just give up. Whenever someone has an advantage, the other servers just give up. The longer the matches, the more of an issue this will be. People might jump in when they’re down by 20k …. but not by over 150k. At that point you’re just being spawn camped and struggling to maintain a tally over 50 lol. They see “Holy crap, they’re attacking a camp! OTHER PLAYERS ZOMG! ZERG RUSH FOR MEDALS!”
I’m not being whiny, I’m the stubborn idiot who tries to fight anyway, but. It is what it is. Never a close fight, either win by a mile or get absolutely crushed. I hope other people have had different experiences _
This. Very much THIS. Consider me signing this … I rarely EVER get the daily because it resets at 8pm my time …. by the time I get home from work and get around to playing, I will be nearly done with the daily and it resets; usually I only get close if I keep going on “progress” from the night before. It is very frustrating and makes no logical form of sense. Every other MMO the dailies reset at some obscure hour in the morning when nobody really SHOULD be playing anyway, haha. 8pm is smack dab in the middle of prime time _
Edit: the issue is, I don’t always play every night, so my progress from nights before doesn’t “carry over” conveniently, as people suggest it does. That would be fine if I had time to play every day but I do not! haha
