i think some people are misunderstanding the main idea. i know the game i showed is for ps4 only, a single player rpg game and in no way a console can be more powerful than a pc. i dont own any consoles and i will not buy a console for the sake of one game lol. i just happen to be browsing youtube when i ran into the video. i watched and the thought of having a gw3 look like these crossed my mind, thats all. im really not a casual gamer and only stay loyal to a few games at a time. (for example i been playing gw2, bf4 and gtav for the longest)
i know gw2 still has years to go but do you think anet will adapt to directx 12 and new technologies or will they go for directx 10 or 11 in order to get as many players as possible. thats what i meant as next gen, since gw2 is currently running directx 9 lol
From a MMORPG aspect, GW1 was ahead of its time. GW2 was ahead of its time. If something like GW3 happens someday I’m sure they will craft it top notch. But there are limitations when developing an MMO. It will never be a match for single player games visually.
Steam is the graveyard of MMORPGs. You will not go there to save yourself, you go there to rest in peace and hope some fans donate enough to keep your grave clean and tidy.
going to the dungeon at its level is hard mode,
ever tried to run AC1 on level 35?
ever tried to run SE on levl 65?
caucedus manor on level 45?the dungeon design in the game is severely lacking.
it is hard to impossible to do on its designed level,
and ridiculously easy to run as a exotic geared 80 level group.
this
I use it on fractal bosses. With an initative oriented build you can nearly spam your unload nonstop. daze and perma blind also comes handy in stiuatons. I don’t like being in close range with full zerker stuff. Much more safe this way and dps is compareable. But other than boss fights, it’s pretty inefficient I must admit.
I don’t know it’s the new meta or not. But it’s new ez-mod for the thief that I’m certain of. Easy cheap build. No-brainer rotation. High survivalbility. The most challenging targets are other condition builds especially condineers.
I’ve used to beat them with classic D/D zerker or with zerker S/D setup. 1-2 nice lockdowns and they are dead or escaping. S/D actually helps alot since its autoattack is aoe(you can still hit them even if you mistakenly hit a clone) and spaming dual skill is enough to beat them before it gets nasty. But I switched to a P/D condi build after the patch and started to experience heavy problems against mesmers. Condition build is nice and saw that it works against nearly every build including bunkers. But Mesmers are another story. First of all they have a natural wall of copies that protects them from non piercing projectiles. Even if you trait piercing projectiles, it gives a %50 chance to hit. If you accept the range fact disadvantage, you should then deal with targeting… Since you need to hit alot more to apply conditions against your target nearly every mesmer including newbies are gonna make you cry.
Other than that use some eveasive and condition cleaning stuff in your build that may help you to beat them since you need both alot in a mesmer fight.
A utility bar to be able to put food, wvw bluprints, equipment, tonics etc. Shouldn’t be hard… Opening inventory and search for things in the middle of action is a real pain.
You know especially after the arrowcart buff everything become siege oriented. Put siege to def, put siege to attack, put siege to destroy enemy siege etc. Commanders use players as moving supplies. More people=more supplies=more siege. It became really boring to roam around the map, doing nothing but knock gates and run to another till someones trebuchet makes success.
Can’t you put a point award for kills? Like 5 points for every kill. So at least it’ll make sense to kill an enemy in WvW instead of seeing them as loot bags. I don’t know maybe its a bad idea but I really miss the early days of WvW. I like the feeling of mass fights even if we lose. Cuz everytime we lose, I learn something from that defeat. But occurance of group fights getting less day by day. WvW need some encouragement for open field group fights.
Another Idea is putting random occuring buffs on open field and make them capturable by 5 or more people. It may be 1 hour swiftness or %15 dmg for 30mins, 10 supply for everyone etc. So people may go after them in large groups. It would be fantastic to hit another group on the way or on the area and fight for it.
The mystic forge, lol. People actually use that?
More than you think, believe me.
As a thief I know one thing good and that’s to “spam”. You know what? I can spam your combo fields too. Enjoy your 2k aoe heal spams when you drop your water field next time.
It’s more legendary than a bow that shooting unicorns or a
disco ball on a stick imho. I don’t even know how roleplayers deal with them in the lore. They are the jokes of Anet. I dont know what kind of effect you’re looking for but a trail of chicken feathers would suit well I guess:P
It’s clearly a tower crane. But the whole art is copy paste photoshop composition anyway. Norns building resort hotels, car parkings and stuff:P
Because its a team game, and with few exceptions (eles) very few classes get a lot of finishers and fields in one.
Also, minions have finishers galore. Bone minions = 2x blast finisher, Bone fiend = 2x projectile finisher (100%), Flesh Wurm = 1x projectile finisher & 1x Blast finisher (although to be fair you’ll pretty much never get a finisher with it except by sheer luck).
It’s a team game and what? A warrior or thief gets the advantage of every combo field with nearly every skill. Necros have nothing but watch they appear and dissapear on a fight. We have only one nearly(!) direct blast via putrid mark and it needs to be triggered by enemy. Other 2 comes from utility and via sacrificing minions. So nearly no combo for necro.
If you say necros haven’t got finishers but lots of fields. You’re wrong too. Necros can create 4 type of fields and 3 of them directly come from utilities and only one from saff that needs to be triggered again.
Since I can’t equip 8 utilites it feels so wrong. Oh I forgot minions with 5 IQ and 0 EQ can sometimes make combos. So sorry I’m so relived now….
/End of rant
Why necromancers have no projectile finishers except necrotic grasp with %20 chance?
Why necromancers have no leap finishers at all?
Why necromancers have no whirl finishers except dat kitten spear, only usable in water?
With lots of fields and such why? Explain me please.
Let me put this in terms of the Jedi.
If the ways of the jedi were easy, there would be hundreds of them instead of dozens.
If getting a precursor was easy, there would be hundreds of legendaries instead of dozens.
Its not hard it just takes time. It’s based on grind. Acording to your jedi ways, every farmer can become a jedi. No disciplines required. Also any hobo with dumb luck can become a jedi too.
Any detailed info on new match-up system?
How about Anet mails 10 chests per day to our accounts and save us from the hassle. That’d be great! Make it happen or bananas?
I love you guys as a thief. Always looking for one of you in zerg vs zergs. Thx for imba boons and aoe fear. They are game changers :P
I hope they remove it from the game completly in near future. It’s the most annoying thing I remember from the start. It looks pathetic for myself (as a fantastic hero) when I’m downed. I’m a hero and I should die western style when I get killed. But it looks like I’m crying for help and doing “go away” moves when I get hurt. It is ten times more annoying in PvP. I’d say f… tactics/mechanics, its not fun.
oh and we need an award for 500 login attempts , a good name please people.
Title: Enraged Pixel Carver.
Reward: A red mouse with the longevity of 100bilion clicks
One thing I’ve never missed; Trinity
-I’d love to see customizable skill/item bars and UI.
-Guild Halls
-Capes
Pretentious Self-entitled Prick Diary:
Today I broke the shield of one but couldn’t dodge the enraged counter attack. I’ll focus on healing my wounds for a while.
If you want to see openworld agony go to Orr.
(sry for being a bad troll, had to do it:P)
I’d definitly buy 10 stacks of the crates if it was a guarantied drop from 10. But it really scares me to get nothing in return and if I go further and spend more on them to get it at 50+ tries, I’d definitly think “was it worth it?” and feel depressed for paying such amounts for some pixels that probably get old in 1,2 months later. But on the other hand I like those skins and unreachable feeling makes me unhappy too. I love the game, I have money to spend in game but those chests really make my head ache as long as they stay in the shop.
At the end my conclusion is:
Crates makes me sad at all times if it’s not a free drop from a mob and gives the skin in my first try.
I hope the devs read and understand the feelings of the people in the losing end of the RNG vagon and stop repeating it.

What I learned from this thread:
Hotjoin heroes = Trolls
Trolls cannot play anymore after the updates.
Arenanet removed trolls from game = mission complete
???
I think it would mean alot more without dev support if it becomes something big at the end. It’d show the strenght of the community.
Seeing Behemoth spawn in the first day of my gameplay while trying to do the heart in swamp. I’ve never experienced a facial expression like that in my gaming history. I was like “HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!”

I’m not a fan of temporary content simply because if you happen to miss it due to real life obligations, you’re out if luck. I understand what Anet is attempting to achieve with their living world idea, but it is too exclusive an approach. I saw a very simple solution proposed a while ago, that I think would make everyone happy. If there were a storyteller or lore master character of some sort in Lion’s Arch, who you could talk to in order to replay past “temporary” content, they would maintain the dynamic living world they are going for, while allowing new players, as well as those that simply missed the events, to enjoy the content and get the titles. What do you all think?
The source of complations are not limited time events imho. It’s the limited time rewards.
I thought its pretty clear. They release temporary content not to keep world alive but players. Make a release, say it’ll be temporary, make it atractive and people are going to log for the content. Remove, release new, repeat. If they’d be permanent you’ll get bored sooner or later. Don’t forgeet content specific limited time gemstore items.
Now after a year, release same ready content plus with new aditions. Enjoy incoming money with less effort. Focus on new box or even newer montyly events. So everytime you log on there will be always something to go after. It’ll always feel lively and dynamic.
I’m sure they are going to leave some content permanently on the way because it should look expanding at the same time.
They left fractals of the mists and imo the results weren’t as they expected. How many people you know going for harder difficulties and having fun? It just become a way of obtaining your ascended pieces, bags or mats. Do the daily move out. I couldn’t find a group in the last week that wants to spend some time and level up. It would be temporary, people could race for the highest levels in the limited time and get better rewards for their success. Now it becomes “meh” and ArenaNet learned something from that experience. Also don’t forget another perma place “Soutsun Cove” and how it bacame a ghost island after the event for it.
Get ready to stealthed thieves runing into zergs and building those traps while remaining stealthed. I’m a thief and sure I’m going to do that alot. So they’re gonna learn building stealth traps while stacking in a place and it’ll ruin my life forever as a thief.
Katar for thief. <3
It would be worst. Like getting a totally random skin. Imagine you are a warrior and getting a staff skin in your 150th chest:P
thats only for mix n match gear. This thread is for all gear
We already know all gear?

Me wants capez! Capes or hipster scarfs..! Hipster scarfs in pink…..or I quit!
Actually I’m hiding my infused Quiver of Swift Flight because it’s not matching with my white-red-yellow cultural armor. It would be a nice adition.
I beleive he means Guild Wars 2 players if he does then the well known mesmers are;
Kylia
Pyroatheist
Osicatthere’s a bunch more but generally there the biggest name if you ask me for the mesmer, Kylia and Pyro have a podcast too, together 1-3 episodes a week depending on what happens with the game, there game time etc.
thief i can think of Yishis and as for the others i cant really say.
Yes I mean GW2 players. I think lots of people know Swifty from WoW as a warrior. Leeroy Jenkins anyone..? They played good(not the best maybe), they played awkward or simply different but following those were always entertaining. Swifty forexample, changed the game by himself. He played the game his way, he made guides, he exploited sometimes even crashed a server, get banned etc. I want to know players that can extend the gameplay with their ideas and gameplay.
We’ll be going through most of these in 2013 and looking at making them more fun and exciting encounters that better scale to support the huge armies of people who mob them.
And of course, we’re also looking into ways to make it so you can see more of those huge mobs of people as well.
Edited to add: This is a great place to throw out your ideas of what you’d like to see any of them do encounter wise to make them more exciting.
We saw your skills in the molten facility. I expect same creativity in general:P
You know guys, every title has their own community and some famous renowned players. I always loved reading articles, guides and watching videos of them. On the other hand, internet is mostly filled with junk and its hard to find something in value. So if you know phenomenal people playing GW2 please share and discuss in this title.

NCSoft and Arenanet are really two different companies in mind. I’d stick with Colin’s statements till the game really starts to fail financially. Considering how NCSoft kittened up great titles in the past, I hope Arenanet stays strong against the ideas of an Asian publisher. If you look into game; ingame economy, gameplay and gemstore is pretty much balanced and not hurting any type of player in general. Ofcourse the game is not perfect for everyone but I can’t see any better game around though. Living story is a great idea and they are doing it right imo. If they release an expension I’d buy it without a second thought but its not really important as long as they continue to add content and fix things like they are doing now.
I agree with human warrior. Especialy with GS. I had one and droped him cuz of boredom. Now I created an asura warior and playing/leveling with longbow/rifle. Looks awkward but so much fun at the same time.
Check this out screened 20 mins ago. 18,7k damage from two hits.
My character is high as kitten after…
Build 5/30/13 May Content Update Release Notes
Removed all skills, traits and weapons from all classes and put new ones to fix balance issues.
New weapon type: Blunt
Now avalible to all classes and comes with unique skills “Smash” and “Peace”.
Smash: Hit enemies head to kill instantly. Cooldown 0,5 secs. Only usable in PvE.
Peace: Summon a bouquet of flowers from your blunt to give enemy players. 30 secs cooldown. Only usable in WvW and PvP.
Welp, I took a look at some hammer skins and from a realism POV many of them are functional, the the ones that look like an enlarged sledge hammer are basically doing it wrong.
As for thin hammer heads, well the thinner and more pointed it is the more focused the kinetic energy is on impact which results in more ‘damage’ dealt.
Attached is a real war hammer, a fantasy version is typified by Thor’s Mjolnir.
If I cared about usefulness, I’d definitly chose rifle.
I’m a thief and I hate the implementation of stealth in this game. You’re so bound to it. The balance problem won’t get a solution until they completly remove or change it radically.
I played lots of games and this is the most lazy stealth mechanic I’ve ever seen in a big title. I kill people before they realise what’s going on and same goes for enemy thives.
If I want to run away from a fight, I leave whenever I want and again vice versa for enemy thieves.
Lets compare mechanics to other games.
-I dont need to be behind enemey to be able to go stealth
-nobody can see me even if I’m dancing infront of thier nose
-stealth skills works from every angle, going behind just gives some bonus for some.
-no speed, regen, defence etc loss while in stealth
At least put a transparent vision of the stealthed thief when they are in close range and infront of enemy. (sadly like WoW)
Going stealth should have advantages and disadvantages at the same time. It must be a tactical move. Right now it punishes nothing. So logicaly its much better to go stealth whenever avalible. Thats how I used to play my thief. 2 stealth utility, 1 stealth from healing and a dagger in off hand. Cheesy…
Also look how the game works with it:
-Use stealth to blind enemy
-Use stealth to regen initative
-Use stealth to remove conditions
-Use stealth to regen health
-Use stealth to immobilize enemy
-Use stealth to apply bleed stacks
-Use stealth to interrupt
-Use stealth to %100 crit
-etc etc
The game screams that go stealth as much as possible yet they put a reveal debuff to fix the issue!!! Nonsense imho.
SB is trash now. I wont carry it even as a secondary from now on. %90 weak compared to other sets. Welcome to the era of S/D D/P thieves. See you next month in the S/D D/P nerf thread.
Just save up your gold before you get sucked into the allure of the forge.
Seconds later you’ll be left with 1g and become so depressed that you quit
Haha it sucked hundreds of gold of mine and still cant stop myself sometimes.
Btw when I started gambling with MF i got the precursor of bifrost from my 7th try with random cheap 70-79 exotics. I ve been sucked by it since then and lost maybe the price of 3 precursors while gambling.

Remove world completion token, wvw token and dungeon tokens from legendary also remove the star. And it’s done. Everyone is happy.
Some people don’t like fighting open world after hitting max level, some of them do not like dungeons and some simply do not like pvp. If you remove these, everyone can craft their legendary, or make profit with their style of gameplay.
Always use items with power. its the most useful stat for you. If you strugle surviving you can add vitality and toughnes. If you get used to your thief mechanics, add precision and condition damage instead. D/D is the most efficient set while leveling. Others have different benefits, but the fastest nuker is D/D with classic CnD-backstab-HS spam. For events and such You can use SB for nice AoE dmg and safety of range.
For utility, take shadow refuge for emergency or traveling safely while evedaing unnecassary combat, take signet of shadows for faster movement and emergency blind, third is up to you. I’d take skale venom for weakness, ambush for a thief friend or tripwire for extra immobility. Thief army combined with ambush can nuke any veteran like a normal mob and help you with skill chalenges.
For traits, putting 10 points in power is a must because Mug makes your steal does damage. I’d put the rest into power and precision because of the extra dmg. Also you can find useful things in shadow arts first tier. But it’s up to you again. This way you can move like a truck while hiding some tricks in your sleeve for surprises.
It’s not the most survival build. It focuses on direct burst damage for mostly stationary targets and clearing open world as fast as possible.
(edited by Rusha.4725)
The broken thing is crit damage not conditions. Too op when you compare both. Also the most gamebreaking stat and source of many nerfs.
4 rolls into cover
5 takes aim 3 secs
3 uses heavy caliber
4 rolls into cover
1 uses ambush
target is dead without knowing whats going on from 1200 range.
