Played when the game first came out and have returned for the expansion. All three of my old characters work perfectly and the game runs fine… But…
When I try to create a character my client freezes at the race selection and shortly after my entire computer crashes…
Windows 10 64 -bit
Intel Core i7 2.6 GHz
8.00 GB RAM
GeForce 840m (Updated Fully)
I have redownloaded the game twice.
I have tried running as admin.
I have tried deleting the local data trick.
Dragon needs to stay in the sky to coordinate the risen from a vantage point.
Horrible idea. I’m sorry, but its not the answer to punish a server for playing the game. Your solution leaves 1/3 of the game unhappy, when the ideal solution aims for 3/3.
Americans complain about EU/Oceanic players on their servers also, so this issue has come up numerous times since the games release. I believe ANET once commented that they will not change this in the future.
Bf3 was released last year… That guy screw up his info?
I have gotten two today.
Isn’t that sPvP armor?…
I see bots of every class, so I don’t know why this is directed solely to rangers…
Been done in other games with positive results. Wouldn’t hurt to have this feature.
I don’t understand. If you revive them unknowingly, then how do you know they are bots?
1a: I don’t like the current upgrading system myself. I would prefer them to implement a donation system instead of forcing one person to pay full. Everyone would be allowed to choose how much they want to pay. But I also like the idea of using BoH to pay for upgrades to.
1b: I believe it should be tough, if not largely tougher. I agree that it was a horrible idea to make commander cost gold. If anything it should cost BoHs since that would signify experience.
1c: I personally don’t think the armor repair is bad at all. We NEED money sinks, and this is probably one of the leading things that is keeping inflation in check (although gold farmers are not helping). Also I don’t think the devs designed the game to be played solely in WvW. If your having money difficulties play PvE more, its were your suppose to get all your money from.
1d: I see no problems with them. I wouldn’t mind them adding even more items such as blockades, siege towers, mobile cannons, ladders, stakes, ect.
2: Giving us an option to remove effects would help. but honestly I don’t think this is such a major issue. Nothing it forcing players to zerg, they just choose to do it.
I would like a little bit more teamwork involved, but lets not ask the devs to change this into a different game… This is a casual MMO meant for casual players, not WoW… If you want to play a traditional MMO, go play the dozens that have poped up in the last decade…
Should I have my obligatory chuckle at the idea that WoW, at this point, is not a game for “casual” players? How is WoW not casual? Just because they maybe have some dungeons at any given point that are considered hard? The rest of the game doesn’t count?
Are there any MMOs that are that difficult, really? Any good ones, at least? And I don’t mean because of PvP. Of course other players can always be challenging.
(Also, being gear blocked from doing stuff isn’t “challenge.”)
People often refer to WoW as a “casual hardcore”, so I guess it can be seen as both. But when you compare WoW and similar games to GW2 you can see a huge different in pacing. WoW requires long term commitment, while this game doesn’t really make you work for much. You aren’t forced to learn your role in a party in this game, you just play for the fun.
Just a FYI. I don’t think I have ever seen a dev post anything in this sub-forum since it’s creation… Leads me to think they made this sub-forum to get our suggestions out of the way…

Would be a nice feature. Lets hope a moderator will finally read one of these suggestion threads and recommend this to the devs.
Pirates class would fit very well into the game.
Tier 3 gear looks really nice. I plan to buy a near full set soon, and hopefully another later.
I’m surprised that a moderator has not commented on this topic yet. Its a feature that’s appearing in more and more games each year… Global conflict, Battlefield 3, Maplestory, League of Legends, Left 4 Dead, and Call of Duty are just a few… http://www.howtogeek.com/93502/are-color-blind-gamers-left-out-science/
They should reward badges of honor. No exp, money, or karma due to people farming rather than helping their team…
Try seeing them with red color blindness… I wish they would give us the ability to change red → purple, and green → aqua.
Just gain some self control…
Knowing who is selling an item can put the seller in danger of being hacked.
You have the casual guilds that are so large, there is little sense of community, and you have the hardcore guilds that are small, but act as if the game is a job. I hate both, and have been looking for a month for that one perfect small/casual guild.
I would rather not have a guild limit how I can play.
They tell us the server rankings every week.
Last man standing sounds fun, but I would not be surprised to find a Asura hiding in a bush somewhere…
Deathmatch is certain to come later.
Refer to the lore for the “Guild Wars” title.
I am sure they will add more skills and traits in the future.
If your looking for a common goal between players, play some WvW. If your talking about a common goal between players for your personal story, the word “personal” comes into play.
I don’t think I have ever been attacked by 10 mobs other than in events.
More complex equipment improvements/crafting.
- The ability to have make your equipment have more rune/sigil slots.
- The ability to upgrade the base stats of your weapon from using special scrolls.
- The ability to add small effects to your weapon (like a small burst of light when you kill something).
- The ability to customize the appearance of equipment you craft.
- Many more rune and sigil effects.
- 2h weapons by default have 2 rune/sigil slots
- Runes and sigils work better together and stack (possibly at a reduced effect).
How about a torch that can chill your foe? But really Its not much of an issue in my opinion.
If they were rewarded for ressurrecting, they’d be easily farmable. Just let someone stand on the edge of an arrow cart area and stay outside pressing F. Not good.
As for defendind a siege, ok, I guess.
They could easily introduce a code that does not allow you to gain badges if you heal the same person(s) over and over, or even set a limit on how many badges you can get for a certain period of time.
Guildwars 2 is in danger if arenanet doesn't act on their endgame while they still can

I don’t think many people realized how casual GW2 was going to be. In my opinion MMORPG is a hardcore genre, so its going to be hard for ANET to keep many people from leaving. Really though, they need to realize that servers will not balance themselves in WvW when everyone in losing servers are quitting or moving to winning servers… I think this game should focus on its PvP aspect, and use PvE to enrich it. My hope is that monthly content will keep people busy long enough for them to get things together.
There is no sense of character advancement in this game. Gear is more about looking pretty, rather than being strong.
More gold will cause inflation. I would rather not pay 20g per rune/sigil. Dungeons do serve a purpose other than getting tokens. They give exp, runes, crafting materials, and are fun to do.
Thief, Ranger: Duel Swords
Warrior: Shortbow
Necro: Same
Mesmer: Same
Eng: Hmmmm… Ray Gun!
Guardian: Duel shield! Jk… Duel Mace?
Ele: Mace.
Tell that to the 3 mails I have from gold sellers that I can’t delete…
I want gear that makes me powerful, not pretty… They could have at least given them a unique sigil and a little higher stats then what they have. I’m in no rush to get one…
Agree with everything you have said. Hopefully the upcoming holloween patch will add some fun things for us to do! for a couple weeks…
Btw expect this post to get closed by a mod.
They need to add more extensive equipment upgrading (like adding more base stats, and adding more rune/sigil slots). They also need to add more top notch gear for people to work towards. Unfortunately I see that running into a problem since they can’t make gear that’s stronger than legendary weapons (yet)… They would add legendary armor I guess.. And a higher tier than exotic thats slightly stronger, but still weaker than legendary.
If truth be told 50% of those that claim to have that much don’t, 25% of those that do have that much got it by an exploit in the game. Which leaves 25% that might really have it.
69% of percentages are made up.
Buy low, sell high. Simple economics. Got 15g last time I played the market.
Doesn’t the map already notify you that a fortification is under attack?
Maplestory did what your suggesting (buffs classes to balance) and eventually it forced the devs to change every single creature to become stronger to balance them with stronger classes. Its much simpler to give a few nerfs then go through a process like that.
Its hard for me to see the red vista symbols on maps.
Throwing stars/knives
Pike (land spears)
Knuckles (hand combat)
Gauntlet
Katara
Sickle and Sycthe
Great Axe (2 handed)
Javalins
Darts
Crossbows
Slingshot/sling
Whip
Nunchaku (“Nun-Chucks”)
Why not ask for a way to import our own images for guild emblems?
They would add special achievments to each zone that require a long time to complete. You would need to complete every event, and kill each of the mobs x amount of times. The reward should be a special title, and a unique looking equipment.
I imagine them focusing on healing, speed, and evasion. Like a supportive thief in a way. Their main mechanic could be a series of counter skills in the f1-f4 keys that require perfect timing to set off.
Adding new weapon sets will cause problems with many traits and balance.
It would be nice to have this feature, but it might cause more traditional forum flaming.
