You may want to try soldier/trooper runes, synergizes better with shouts. I also wouldn’t recommend save yourselves as you don’t have easy access to resistance unlike revenants . Try using retreat instead for the aegis. Finally your stats seem to be all over the place, from what it looks like, you’re trying to be tanky and do damage.
no, legendary insights are obtained from the boss chest.
agro is determined by toughness to a degree. If you have the highest toughness in the group, you will more than likely be the main focus of mobs.
sorry to nitpick, but the signet is unaffected by blind. In-fact it will send the blind to your target. The rest of the reasons remain true however. The signet can be blocked, dodged, or invulned through, and has a 1200 radius range. Another thing that could have happened is that the target died as the skill was being used.
When I think exploit, I think of the old portal strategy in mo and escort. These break the encounter is some way. To me, distorting mechanics isn’t so much an exploit as it is an oversight in balance, wouldn’t you agree?
ventari tablet, and, to a lesser extent, regen application from glint
They only attack when you use an f skill, which procs any traits that would normally proc for f1. Shades will only hit a person once regardless of how many shades you stack on a point. Reason being, anet doesn’t want you to stack them. Thooooouuugh, there WAS a bug regarding the f5 skill, desert shroud, and its interaction with dhuumfire, and the like. Duno if its been fixed or not.
PvP is very accessible to you, in fact you can even have your very own arena. Care to try again?
Yes, it’s so accessible you can get roflstomped within seconds of walking in blind unless you put in effort and practice to get better. You know, just like what raids ask you to do.
how good is your rotation?
Yeah, I also see them using a different currency. Also something else, since the raids we currently have are tied to hot, the weapons, armors, and accessories there have access to hot stats. My question is: will the equipment in the current raid wings have access to the pof stats (assuming we get some new stats) or will those get locked behind pof raids? (also assuming we get some) Will the accessories in lws3 episodes be the same in that they are hot stat only, making so that lws4 is required to get pof stats?
dots don’t crit
Longbow is more useful in a pvp scenario due to its strong cc abilities. Not to say it doesn’t work in organized pve, just that scepter/torch is a much better weapon due to having better over-all damage.
Longbow can be used for safety, but if you already know the fight inside and out, and can tell which attacks to dodge, it’s unnecessary. That is IF you meet those criteria. Longbow is a safe weapon to use and unless you are fighting a dps check of a boss, most people won’t care as much. Current weapon set for guardian that is most effective in pve in terms of dps is sceptre/torch+greatsword.
These things may change in a couple of weeks, due to the expansion and firebrand being able to stack, shall we say, higher than average amounts of burning. The expansion is expected to come Spet 22, not accounting for any possible delays.
There’s always the flesh wurm+spectral walk trick, functions similarly to a thief’s shadow step stomp but uses 2x the utility slots.
You aren’t going to be doing too much with epi on a power reaper, trust me I’ve tried. At best you’ll be helping stack 25 vuln stacks on almost dead things as your condi damage is too low that anything other than burning won’t do any significant damage when you apply it.
feel free to swap dm for sr and swap some zerks for valks if you do.
Are there any plans to add givers as a possible stat for ascended weapons and armor, or will they stay exclusive to exotic armors?
silverwaste farm or fractal farm. Other methods of farming that I can think of is only profitable if you have several alts. As for leather, there’s a leather farm in lake doric, check the lfg every now and then.
the scourge is looking to be decent back-line support in pvp, just so long as no one so much as glances at your general direction the wrong way, at which point just remind yourself that there is only one thing worse than respawning, and that is not respawning.
1st and foremost, and this is the most important part of this, stick to your team. Necros need an effective babysitter to perform effectively.
2nd, try using flesh wurm, and spectral walk, those should give you some outs.
3rd, accept that you are the most dangerous person on the field due to your boon hate, and at the same time the weakest, due to your lack of personal suitability, and as such, will always be 1st target. You need a good team to support you to survive.
A debuff that’s basically a reverse gotl; instead of increasing the damage of people you heal, you increase all damage they take whenever you chill them.
Assuming they the scourge takes the demonic lore trait, the damage of torment on moving foes will be comparable to that of burning. Plus it’s more accessible than burning, assuming your target has boons. Though we still have yet to see how often a scourge can proc dhuumfire, so we’ll have to see when it comes.
oh and an additional note, the damage of scourges will come from applying torment by corrupting boons, having more than 1 scourge in your team will force them to compete against each other to stack their torment unless the target(s) have constant boon application. This doesn’t take into account any boon hate the other people in the team may already have. On top of this, the opponent team should already know to cut down on their boons when a scourge is present so 2 scourges may end up being redundant, and 1 is still a sitting duck.
Fair enough, though I don’t think you’d want more than maybe 2 scourges in your team. Remember, barrier has a cap on it and if 1 can already maintain it, what’s the point of a 2nd?
Additionally, most of the damage that scourge brings is dependent on the foe having boons. If they’re fighting someone who can hold back their boon fart, or get rid of their boons (spellbreaker), they have very little pressure.
We still have to see how this will all play out, scourges have the potential to go either way from what we know of them. For all we know the boon farters will just instantly die to punishments and ppl will complain that scourge too op, then we get heavy handed nerfs followed by half-baked buffs that end up turning us into a decent power spec.
Barrier would be nice, if the other team couldn’t just cc spam or kite you till it wore off. As it seems at the moment, there’s nothing that I see that would prevent the scourge from melting under focus fire, which they will receive, outside of a very, very good pilot and team. And a team of 5 scourges in pvp will either get picked off 1 by 1 or just get used as ping-pong balls, or both. Unless you’re in a lower division in which case, headless chickens move with more purpose. On paper at least, in practice, we’ll have to wait and see.
I mean I guess it’s fine to be barely mediocre in terms of dps, and suitability anywhere that isn’t pve. Rest of us just want something better than that for power reapers.

Yeah… condi does use gs but not as the main. They only use it to proc whirl finishers left behind by executioner’s scythe, then it back to scepter after dropping nightfall and grasping darkness. At any rate, check out this website. It shows the rotation for the build, hasn’t been updated yet, check back on it for updates now and then.
for what game mode?
It’s still got an identity crisis. Skill 1 and 2 are damage, skill 3 is crowd control/escape, 4 is minion bombing, and 5 is melee tanking.
Seriously, what are you supposed to do with it?
Additionally, its cd is far too long for, what little it does, for it to be taken anywhere competitive, even if traited.
Just to add to my original post, power reaper is now out-performed in pve by a power mesmer. MESMER! A class that was known for sub-optimal dps due to the amount of utilities it gave to the group. And they just spam 2 buttons to out dps us.
Same as before; out performed by every other power spec out there and not worth taking.
So now instead of getting feared from corrupted stab every 7s you’ll get feared every 10s. I’d say that was a buff.
Why do ppl keep saying this. Look that’s assuming you’re fighting a condi necro, and assuming you don’t have any other cover conditions for them to go through 1st. And, most importantly, is only applicable to solo roaming under those situations. For zerging you should be running either wells back line or front line boon corrupt, and you’ll have access to a lot more boons (or should have) that the other team has to corrupt through to get to your stab. Running solo roam builds in a zerg is counter productive as a necro.
I tried out blood magic, leadership runes and wells tonight during wvw raid. It felt good enough that I am going to take the plunge and change out a couple items in my gear. Minstrel GS? YES!
I’d still prefer a dagger over focus offhand if only because of its aoe-ness for zerging, and wh over it for solo roaming.
or reaper needs to change to an ACTUAL POWER SPEC.
In terms of what, pvp , pve, wvw? Either way the answer to other classes is still not worth taking over them. Healing necro might be a thing though with the change to well of blood.
oh definitely not, but it’s funny to watch
further results; it’s fine in a 1v1 scenario, you outsustain your opponent, anything beyond that is a nightmare. Also it melts to condi
this build has insane amounts of sustain for a necro. Have yet to try the runes, they were suggested to me by opponents I stalemated till reinforcements came. ( I fought a thief long enough for a traited lich form to come off cd 2x in the duel)
edit
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Exuberance was also a recommendation.

something I’m messing around with, have yet to test it. Runes are either grove for prot uptime or nature’s bounty for condi cleanse. Also thinking of a solo version of this using vamp signet over well of blood.
edit
also considering minstrels just for full tank for zergs
welp, they heard us.
Death Shroud: The base drain of life force from being in death shroud has been reduced 25%.
Reaper Shroud: The base drain of life force from being in reaper shroud has been reduced 25%.
Probably will at the rate anet is going at it.
1. Passive heal from vamp signet is worthless, you won’t heal anywhere near enough hp at the rate shroud decays especially if someone is hitting you or you’re using a skill, even less when a combination of these 2 things happen.
2. Spiteful renewal only activates when you use a heal skill, passive heals don’t count. Additionally, it’s 1 condi in a condi heavy meta, you’re more likely to cleanse a cripple than the 10+ stacks of bleed/burn/torment/confuse/poison that’s killing you.
3. I’ll agree with flumek about this, though as a side note, the 4 other projectiles seem to target randomly, so you may end up pulling something or some one at the very least. Still rather random, slow, and unreliable to be worth a slot imo.
I doubt scourge will even be that good, the way it looks right now it’s a support class that needs heavy support to do anything.
They nerfed power necro and power reaper, both of whih relied on shroud.
Spiteful Renewal is a nice change. Adding a bit of condi cleanse and additional healing is nice.
The really nice part about it is that it removes the drawback from Consume Conditions and turns it into extra healing. Spiteful Renewal is on about a 1/2 second delay after the Heal skill. If you have corruptions traited, Spiteful Renewal removes the Blind.
the consistency in this trait is nice. One of the few good changes, but this is minor in the grand scheme since this does very little compared to what vital persistence did for our survivability. While at the same time, Vital was… well… Vital for power reapers. Without it they’ve lost quite a bit of DPS… As surprising as that might sound.
To add to this, 1 condition per heal is worth very little in wvw with all the cover conditions, even in a 1v1 situation, and I assume it’s worth the same for pvp.
I mostly solo roam as a hybrid reaper (closest I could get to a power build without feeling like I’ve lost all my limbs).
I’ve noticed a real hit to my suitability in wvw. The loss of shroud cd and the fact that shroud decays this fast is just horrible. It’s now either a miracle or an enemy’s mishap when I survive fighting more than 1 person at a time. Was the nerfs to shroud really necessary? What exactly is it that anet wants to happen with necro? At this rate scourge won’t even be taken in pvp or wvw due to its inability to stand on its own 2 feet. (assuming that spellbreakers will be as sustainable, and self-reliant as they seem to be).
Additionally, I was expecting something, anything that made power specs actually viable, as it stands, condi reaper is still better than power reaper, and additionally it would seem that condi reaper will either be on par or stranger than condi scourge. Think about this; a POWER spec is just as viable as a CONDI spec in terms of condi damage! At this rate power scourge will be more useful than condi scourge.
Might I point you to this for more info about the history of deathly chill. As far as I can remember the nerfs to it were due to outcries from pvp that perma chill reapers were “too strong” and so anet looked for ways to balance a class with 1 gimmick, which ended up with a version of it that did basically nothing (1 stack bleed per chill), then it ended up being condi we have now (though still basically nothing in pvp). Hopefully anet learned from that incident, we’ll see soon enough.
Wait till tomorrow’s patch and pray that the changes anet is making to reaper makes it an actually viable power spec
Dagger off hand might be a safe bet, but even that might change with tomorrow’s balance patch. Wait and see however is the best answer to this question if you want low risk.
We are more than likely to get new stat combinations with the next expansion. Holding off until we know what the new stats are would be a wise idea. Additionally a balance patch is due to hit this Tuesday, so basically wait and see what happens.
