Healer and ps that does not have: EA, banners,spirits, spotter,gotl.
Without group utility we will be benched. Vamp aura need to be a multiplier like every one of these group buffs.
These buffs are what make ps and druids so good and a dps increase. Without a group support dps buff, scourge is worthless.

Is it just me or are we getting shafted hard?

Unless blood magic is buffed significantly, scourge will not see the light of day in raid content. Why provide a barrier with no buffs when you can just get healed and get GotL.

Why is condi food being nerfed AGAIN. It was nerfed by 50% when HOT was launched, and now over 60% again. Are you just trying to brick everything in the game so everyone needs to buy the new xpac? The nerf to power food was 50% damage, this is worse than that.

After completing the LS3, something just didn’t feel right. I felt that it was worse than LS1, Scarlet War.
Then it hit me, the ending if completely against the overall theme of the LS3.
The theme of LS3 was unintended consequences of doing thing that you thought were right. It was discovery the the noble act of killing the elder dragon would bring destruction to the world. All stories revolved around this idea. Braham cracking the tooth doom him to a crusade against Jormag. Taimi attempting to kill the dragons lead to the loss of Omadds Machine. Killing Caduceus lead to Deimi and Aton dieing.
And how did the story end? By committing genocide against a contained foe, with no consequences or objections. Feel completely against the theme, it was just way to get to the ex machina trailer generating triangle. And the xpac trailer show the consequences of killing the elder dragon.
I dunno, I think back to Lord of the Ring, and the conversation about if Bilbo should have killed Gollum after getting the ring. “My heart tells me that Gollum has some part to play yet, for good or ill before this is over. The pity of Bilbo may rule the fate of many.” Livia’s action may rule the fate, unless the writers just choose to ignore it which they probably will.

Legendary Armor >> when?

I can only think of how MO canceled 12 legendary weapons. Questions came up to if legendary armor or the ad infinium would be affect by this decision. It is clear now that it did effect all future legendaries. Ad Infinium was rushed out, canceling fractal leaders AGAIN (honestly I think this was a good call). If Ad Infinium wasn’t already in the wardrobe and if pvpers were not making the legendary backpiece already, I doubt it would have been released at all.
Now the first raid is a almost 9 months old and the last wing is over 1 month old, NO precursors, NO legendary armor. Just a suit of gem store reject armor and a collection that will not be done until a further “raid” release with no time table (fractal leader boards anyone?). Why should I raid anymore, to get another ascended box to fill up my bank with (currently at 40+ boxes) or more magnetite (currently at 3800) or enough LI for all 3 sets of armor that may never get released.
In my opinion, give legendary armor the Ad infinium treatment, get collection II done as fast a possible without a further raid release. Either add collection items to fractals, open world, previous raid encounters or heaven forbid, dungeon paths. Turn on all the MF recipes and give legendary armor a placeholder armor set until you can get enough artists off gem store outfits to finish legendary armor. Let people know the armor will be updated when it is done, but you can still enjoy the benefits of the stat swapping until it is done.
TLDR; Legendary armor is taking to long to develop, release it asap with a placeholder armor until the artist are done.

Honestly, I don’t understand these people complaining. This is the fastest way to get ascended items ever.
Fractals used to take 10 daily chests to a single ring.
Accessories used to take 2 weeks to get the 12 commendations when guild missions came out, and that assuming you had all g missions unlocked.
Amulets took 30 days to get 1 from laurels.
These time may have decreased, but 2-3 day is an all time low.

Raid have been out for 8 months, and the grand carrot on a stick is still not done, and is looking like it will take another 6 months to complete. How many outfit have been put in the gemstore in that time.
Honestly this has to be the worse reward structure I’ve ever seen in a raiding MMO. I have never had to wait multiple raids to complete 1 set of armor.
I also feel like I am playing a game that is moving the goal post every update. Prior to SotF, I thought I only needed to finish w3 and I could start crafting it, there was only one collection. Then after SotF hit, we all found out there was collection 2 which required open world parts, so I assumed the second half would just require LS parts. Now not only did I need to finish FT and do some open world events, but now I have to wait for another raid with no release date to complete the collection I’m “halfway” done with. I am afraid the Gift of the Pact (the only material with no recipe listed for upgraded refined armor) may end up requiring me to finish a third raid even fewer in the future.
Meanwhile my # of LI (180 at the time of this post) keep getting higher and higher.

From the AMA, it is clear legendary armor is not even close to being done, and is going to require another RAID just to complete the second collection.
This sounds like Ad Infinitum all over again. Should I just count on getting pvp or wvw legendary armor prior to getting raid legendary armor at this rate?

Because of the exclusive nature of raid I can understand the fustration of general casual player. No one wants to come into the story midway through, you can see the constant request for ls1 to return in story journal even though it is clear that it probably won’t happen.
There was really only two solutions anet had to avoid this.
1. Make the raid separate and conclude after w3, like 24 of the 25 explorable dungeon paths, the original exclusive content. This could have been done by replacing Xera with Lazarus. Defeating Lazarus would bookend the story and noone would complain.
2. Release easier story versions of the raid wings simultaneously. Make them 5 man with less mechanics. Have them reward only champ bags, nothing else. Keep the good rewards for raid completion only. That way casuals can still experience the story and it would be very similar how all the dungeons have story mode.

This only shows one thing. LS3 started with the raid. Everyone should be happy, these 8 months of no major releases ACTUALLY had 3 LS releases inside the raid. It hasn’t been a content drought after all. I personally can’t wait for LS3 chapter 4. I hope its another raid.

Caudecus (or at least his VA) is character talking about taking the thrown in the trailer. I wish I posted this sooner, but this pretty much confirms Caudecus is or is carrying Lazarus the Dire.
Anyone who thought that the raid story was not going to connect to this story was living with their head in the sand. The current events pretty much confirmed that the white mantle were going to be key to the story.
And odds are, this story will just be a trailer for xpac 2, just like LS2 was just a advertisement for HoT.

This was Anet most fatal flaw with LS1. Instead of spending the time adding recyclable content, they did all this one shot crap. And the sad part is most of it could have been recycled. Took a fractal update to recycle story dungeons, but only 80-90% of them.
Dragon Bash, Festival of the 4 Winds, Queen gauntlet and SAB could have been routine festivals. It took SAB 2 update for them to figure this out.
Right now we have Halloween, Wintersday, Lunar new year, and now 3 years later, the SAB festival all 2 months apart from each other in Q4 and Q1.
Right now in Q2 and Q3, we are in the content drought WITH NOTHING TO DO for the past 3 months, and probably nothing to do for another 3 months if reddit rumors are true.
What I suggest. Fix Dragon Bash and put it in early June and have it always show up at early June. Then Fix Queens Gauntlet and have it be the GW2 Birthday festival. Hell if you really want to make things spicy, replace one of the areas in Queens Gauntlet with White Mantle.
I sorta wish we could have festival of the 4 winds back, especially with gliding now, but Anet painted themselves in a corner with that faction.

Everything released in q2 was posted sporadically in the forum and reddit. And there were no real surprises to be had until you bury your head in the sand. People knew they were reworking map rewards in hot, people knew they were doing borderland changes, people knew ad infinium was being released, and people knew about the short bow. Only surprise I had was the lvl 80 booster, but I’m sure it might have been mentioned on reddit.
So what do we know that is coming in q3 update. New fractals are coming, infusions are being changed (a dev mentioned on reddit how it didn’t make q2 because it would delete old infusions). LS3 is coming. Legendary armor is coming.
Similarly how q2 theme was to make HoT more casual, q3 theme will probably be fractals and LS3.

Please continue with making more raids

I would rather have 1 raid wing and 2-3 dungeons to supplement it.
I enjoyed one of Lotro instance clusters, Ost Dunhoth. This included two 3-mans, two 6-mans, and a 12-man raid.
By the way ascended mats were never used for in any legendary crafting, only in precursor crafting. I know this is splitting hairs, but precursors are being given as rewards like the pvp backpieces.

I would rather have what other MMO’s do for the next Xpac, an instance cluster. Where we have 2-3 5 man dungeons and 1 10 man raid to culminate the story. Currently we have 3 raids.
Also I dislike how the rewards for raid have been distributed. The main reward is legendary armor, but instead of getting the armor piece mill like in most MMOs I’ve played, we have to get it all at once at the end. I also wish the they would release the build recipes for the armors months ago so people had something to do and gather.

Seeing how reaper dps is lower than dagger spam, and you lose the only group utility in the blood magic we have. As of the iteration of the reaper I played in BWE 1, it is just plain awful.
I am unsure if the buff will be enough to justify enough reason to go reaper and untrait from the only group utility we have.

What are you talking about? Shroud skill 4 still heals when you use it. I was healing my buddy for 3-4 k.

So you replaced spite or soul reaping instead of blood to get reaper?
That lowers your dps even further below dagger spam because you are either trading 5% from DR or 5%(25% below 50) from spite for life stealing, that get worse the slower your attack is. So to keep same group utility as a dagger necro, you get more kitten dps as a reaper.
Reaper and blood magic has poor senergies. If they made life stealing a % instead of a base value, then it will behave better. But as for now blood magic will get the best benefit from dagger.

With the increase in CD with gravedigger, the skill has gotten worse. The life steal is the same, attack speeds have not changed. But all of this is moot because decimate defenses will always outshine it.
Basically no one will take it because it is worse now, and there a smarter choice to take in the same slot.

Attack animation reminds me of Devil May Cry Stinger attack. To bad it doesn’t act like it. give it a 600 range homing attack that moves at high speeds (speed of rush from warrior) and it will be a great opener. This is very much comparable to leap of faith, swoop, flashing blade and Savage leap. Leave the 1 second wind up before the charge so it has counter play.

GS trait is crap, frankly. Compare it to other class GS trait. They all give increase damage, a secondary effect, and unconditional CD reduction. Necro get a secondary effect and conditional cd reduction for 80% of the skills.

Dresden, it completely up to Anets release of Achievements and their reward. During season 1 it was possible to get around 1k AP a month. Now in the content drought you will be lucky to get 400 AP a month. Then when you calculate daily AP caps, it is currently impossible to get to 30k AP no matter now long Anet gave you. Of course this is assuming that your daily cap is 15K-Monthly total (which i assume because that what Anet said it would be). We don’t know if that truely is the case because we are months away from people hitting that cap.

2.5 would fix the RNG only Account bound items that you only get one shot a day with.
Fixing the following items would help greatly with problems of RNG induced burn out.
Fractal weapons and tonic
Teq and Wurm ascended chests
Dungeon recipees
Beta Portals
RNG burn out doesn’t leave a Rosey Recollection feeling because it is usually ends with you failing to get your item. I can personally testify that I am burned out from fractals only because they failed to get the fractal dagger. And that it after months of grinding it (16/19 weapons). The only way to get me back there is fix it’s loot.

Back in October, Anet was hiring a Raid Content designer. Just wondering if anyone was hired, and if so, what experience did that person have in other games. This way people will have a idea what sorta flavor of raids we might be getting.
If no one ever was hired it might explain why there is no mention of raids or dungeons were mentioned yet. Raid would be a major feature if it was added in the XPAC.

I remember when good old Mike made the communicating with you thread right after the first SAB slip up happened.
What happened after that post.
0 dungeons changes, no SAB, a living story that was just a commercial for a XPAC with half the features of a normal XPAC with no release date or price.

And all the interview question with real details about the content asked at their press event was met with “we are not ready to talk about that” which to me sounds like PR talk for, “we are not going to have that feature but saying that will ruin our sales”.
Dungeons raids and instanced content are probably not going to released. Only open world and gem shop updates.

Clearly this last update ran into just push it out and patch it later syndrome. I suspect this was so they can remain on their gem store schedule (noticed how 2 weeks worth of item were push out in 2 days). This really show where Anets priority are, they are not here to make a good stable game, they are here to suck money out of the gemstore.
HoT will be the same, the starting areas will be polished, the end game buggy as hell, but don’t worry the gem store will be 100% tested and working.

Yet another pointless undocumented change to the game that nobody asked for. Anet has changed the down state color from red to a dark green.
Personal i hate this change, it makes the down state not pop out when one of your party member is down and doesn’t convey the sense of urgency to revive them.
Please revert this change.

Only things left for me to do is get a teq horde for a GS for my necro and get the last piece of wurm slayer armor. I do both event everyday, and it is a grind. And you might ask how can it be a grind if you only do it once a day, but it is because the event have not gotten any harder or have changed at all. They are boring, but the Loot is locked behind an RNG wall, that after every kill I end up being at the same spot I was at before the kill (don’t fall into the gamblers fallacy). So for the past 100+ teq kills (I keep the spoons to keep track on the number of kills between hordes) I ended up with same reward as if I never did the event at all, no teq horde. Doing an event successfully 100x for no prize is a grind.
And before you talk about the 2g +3rares+karma+trash, there are much better way to get all of these instead wasting time at this event and they don’t help you get the horde/pile.

PLEASE make condition builds USEFUL in PvE

for ArenaNet PvP is more important than PvE

Evidently not as most of the new content and focus always goes to PvE.

For content, they focus on pve because that how they get people to buy gems, for skill balancing, it is almost 100% pvp related. And they are horrible at that.
Only pve focused skill balance was the ferocity change that was suppose to help cap the insane damage done by zerkers, but it actually buffed zerker damage in 95% of the game because it fixed crit dmage scaling at sub lvl 80 areas.

Anet fails at balancing when they argue that zerker should do the most damage because it is all offense, but doesn’t fix rampager, assassin and sinister stat combos (all offense only combos) so they are on par with zerker.

The over use of RNG in this game is “fair” to the general playerbase, but unfair to individual players. Most players will fall really close together on the luck bell curve, but the outliers are unfairly rewarded or punished though no fault of their own.
John Smith talk abut solutions about this problem in his RNG thread, BUT NONE ARE BEING IMPLEMENTED IN GAME. Then added to the fact there are account only item that you can’t even buy your way out of the RNG trap. Every day I kill teq, and the game doesn’t care how large my spoon collection (100+ with no horde drop) gets, I still get the same odds as the guy who is killing him for the first time to get the horde. In Anet eyes that it fair.

Anet pRNG is suspect at best. I base this on the fact that I keep getting the exact same items over and over again. There are around 10 named exo I get, never any others, and I constantly get them. Then there are multiple instances where WvW rank up chests give me the exact same 2 green items (level, prefix and suffix). Once I thought it was a fluke, but when it keeps happening. Same with fractal weapons, I keep getting bows, others keep getting daggers.
Then there is fact that Anet hides ALL their drop rates. Why is this important, because it keep people doubts if they suspect that pRNG is rigged. Also to keep people playing and wasting their time and spending gems on RNG boxes. I wonder how many rng key would sell if people knew the drop rates right in front of them.

Yet again, fractals are the harbringer of Anet’s constant lies.. errr I mean marketing. Lets makes a list:
Started the gear grind trendmill when it was released which was against horizontal progression the game was sold on.
Started RNG Account bound rewards which went against the “Is it fun” blog post about all dungeon rewards being token based (again how the game was sold on).
Character progression reset with the fractured update.
Lies about a leader board which was the justification for the reset.
Lies about the fractal weapon box.
Gear gating

And with the introduction of new infusions, that 5% increase from exo to ascended may become 10-15% increase like from rare to exo.
Again Anet is trying to hide it’s power creep by slowly introducing it, like boiling a frog.

I kinda wish Colin would comment on the BiS infusions. These are the 5 stat + 5 ar infusions which only have one source, mystic forge recipe, requires MORE t6 mats than a legendary of a full set (1400 for all slots, 2000 if you wants both weapons slots + underwater). AND 14-20 STACKS of karka shells or passion fruit.
Yes I know there are wvw infusions, but if you step into fractal 50 your instant dead. Well unless you have two +23 ar infusions and a +24 on rings and back. that only takes 33,554,532 +1 ar infusions to make.
This is an instant that either you wear:
subpar equipment (
5 ar with no stats)
grind the same mobs or gold for the same 2 materials to make the BiS infusions
OR
You are gated out of content not because of skill, but because you don’t want to drop 800g-1000g.

AR needs to be removed from fractals, or the cost of fine infusions needs to be lowered.

There was no talk about a LOOT 2.0 system, like ones talked about from John Smith that would allow those who are unlucky with RNG a way to get the account bound items you want. Fractal weapons and tonic, Teq Hordes, Regurgitated Piles, Dungeon recipes, Bee Amulet. All of these items are behind a RNG gate that either you get your item or you get nothing. It doesn’t matter if it is your first run or your 500th, the odds remain the same. There is no Non RNG alternatives, and most are on a 24 hour time gate.
Then there is the DR, which will negatively impact drops if you do the same activity over and over again. Of course it is unsure if DR affects the above drops, because that information is held secret. But I would image that constantly farming the same events (teq and TT) or the fractals may flag you for this.

Just salvaged 6 exotics with the soldier stats from SE vendor with a BLSK. Usually I would end up getting a soldier inscription or insignia, but ended up getting none. I understand that this may be just bad luck, but it could also be an undocumented change(you know the things anet is good at doing). Wondered if anyone else has had this issue.

So we had 5 instances of putting a muzzle on SM, but instead got a change to gifts that does hardly anything but ruin the snowflake market. GG anet GG.
