All depends on what your most interested in when buying the expansion.

Story is short only 16 chapters and without the mastery gating its an evenings game play to finish it.

The elite specs some are nice but a lot of work to get the hero points to unlock them and a lot of waiting around trying to find help doing them (most are champs that are not solo-able).

But if you purchase direct from anet then they have a refund policy that will allow you to get your money back for up to 30 days.

Really? So pre-ordering 30 days before release has screwed you over in terms of a refund thats crazy. So glad i waited and purchased on the 22nd now i have a few weeks to see what they do about the hero points if anything before asking for my money back.

something like this would be nice for all classes. An option to have a number of different weapon sets for all classes and being able to select which sets to use while out of combat. a QoL update but not anything desperatly needed lol

In GW1 there was a button you could map and press so you could target yourself. I honestly don’t see why that couldn’t be re-implemented in GW2. It harms nothing.

In guildwars 1 you had to target yourself say as a monk to heal yourself so it was useful. GW2 has no support/heal skills that you need to target yourself and would just be completly useless and a waste of time to add it.

could you not send them the gold needed to buy the gems needed to unlock them?

i think 2 new maps are known off but have no idea where ppl get only 3 maps from but keep seeing ppl claim its only 3.

how can they even answer the question with a yes is beyond me. The answer is no.
No you dont need it as it is included with all hot packages.

And imho i think anet should be actively emailing any new account created after the hot expasion was annouced and the FAQ explicited stated that they needed to buy the core game to play HoT and explaining to them about the change in direction here and offering them a full refund on the core game if they would like to pre-purchase HoT.

im sure if you contact support they will be able to help by either charging you the extra for the delux and adding it or if that cant be done then refunding the basic version so you can then purchase the deluxe version after the refund goes through.

If you bought GW2 within the past 30 days Anet support is refunding/compensating customers. Beyond 30 days and you may be screwed.

You also lost all your work since they disable your account. What they should have done was let them buy HOT and refund the $10 or what they spent in GEMS.

Ive seen on redit a user claim he got a refund and DID NOT loose his progress. He purchased the base game for $40 and got that refunded and paid the $50 for hot and the base game without loosing any progress.

if you look at the link that note is to the answer regarding refunds for your purchase of guild wars 2 obviously refunding the core game will terminate the account. Pretty sure that wont apply to refunding an expansion

Although i dont think they would refund purchases up to 6 weeks old probably more like 2 weeks.

The purchase link detects your location and directs you to the shop for that location.
I am in the UK so it lists the prices as £35/£60/£80 for me.
The legal requirement is for them to charge me VAT as I am in the UK.
VAT is 20% – however if you convert those prices from £ back to $ you find that the UK price is 25% higher than the US price when legally it should only be 20% higher.
The product is a digital download so there are no shipping costs involved.
Why are people in the UK being charged an extra 5%?

But the US price would also include sales tax of at least 5% im assume, no idea about tax rates in us, so its at least 10% extra or more

Looking at that link and given the number of particapants for only 2 hours i wouldn’t expect much.

Second season finished on 15th of may ladder has been frozen since then. Will be reset with the start of the next season no idea when though.

Items being made no longer obtainable will always increase in value. The only way this could be consider unfair is if anet was giving that 1% the OP keeps on about inside information on this so they could buy up the supply before others know about it. But alas they don’t and its posted for all to see at the same time.

BTW op check prices of winterdays skins that will be no longer obtainable next week if you really want to complain about market manipulation. Fact is the 240G you was willing to pay for an item that was worth 40-50g when available in game was probably already manipulated

Also the guy buying it for 250G and listing for 950G is making a massive gamble. he has forked out almost 300g to buy and list it hoping some1 is stupid enough to buy it.

If it can target other players and change there skill set it will be used to troll people

the server only matters for world verse world everything else is a megaserver. You may not always be in the same maps as your friend but if you in a party with them you can join them.

Transfering servers does cost but is free if you have no characters on your account probably best to delete characters and get on same server now just incase you wish to try wvw together in future

but they already have a Player v Player section with lobbys for rank and unrank parties to form

I use scepter/dagger and solely Fire ele.

while fire is nice for damage and what you will be attuned to most the time you need to use the other elements too. You have many tools as an ele and need to use them to survive. Scepter/Dagger may not be the best combo for this but still you have them.

Like if you have melee mobs run at you then switch to earth cast rock barrier improving your toughness, dust devil (aoe blindness 90% chance to miss next attack), earthquake (2 sec knockdown) then switch to air cast updraft dodging back away from danger and giving you swiftness to kite while you still have blinding flash if any mobs are close enough to hit you.

You must master all of the elements

traps would then need triggering which would be a lot of effort watching every trap to active them when needed for the benefit of maybe delaying them for a bigger group?

do u have a birthday boost? that will give u an extra 100% magic find for 24 hours and you will be able to see for your self the difference. Or a celebration boost from daily thats gives 100% for 1 hour.

Of course they do. They are certainly monitoring the number of drops regularly. They can lower the drop rate past a certain threshold is reached. It can even be automated easily with a few lines of code.

You only have to put a counter that increase by one every time a portal is dropped for the first time by a player’s account.

Check the counter’s value everytime a portal is dropped vs the threshold’s value.

If the counter’s value is greater than the said threshold, then reduce the drop rate and increase the threshold value. Repeat.

the drop flags an account for access for the beta and you don’t need to keep the item. So surely any counting done would be of account with access and not how many items have dropped

where did u get info about what the next beta would be testing?

all I’ve seen so far is a post about the portals dropping for players to gain access to it, but nothing about what they intend on testing or anything saying they are only testing pve aspects.

Surely the new trait system would need testing soon if they plan on testing it as the system is to go live before hot release?

Id assume if the same system was to be used for a wvw beta and tokens dropped only in wvw there would be uproar from pve players about being forced to play wvw and wvw players about maps being full and not being able to play what they enjoy.

the portal should drop anywhere in game and everybody would have the same chance of getting it without being forced to play 2 pve maps they may not enjoy. Maybe with an increased chance in drytop and sw if they want to promote them maps and encourage people to play in them. At least players who would rather not join silverwastes or drytop are not excluded

It would … except nothing in the announcement says the newsletter is the way in for anyone. The first one needed the newsletter, the Stronghold one was open to everyone, this one requires getting the drop while playing the game. At least as I read it.

I think the problem is not people being able to read but the fact they have just given a date with no time or rough time.

Its already Tuesday 28th for many people.

whenever info is given a start date with no time or rough times for different timezones the forums are always plastered with these posts.

But I assume there will be a patch before the event starts which normally hit around 8pm-9pm uk time

I wont be grinding them area’s as I find no enjoyment in doing so and think its a terrible idea to force players to play certain content they may not enjoy in order to gain access to the beta.

I’ll carry on playing in the evenings doing stuff I enjoy and hope I get an email giving me access

shame the drop isn’t world wide I’d like to take part in the beta’s just like I did before release of GuildWars 2 but I’m not going to grind area’s I am bored of for a chance of a drop.

Why not let every active player play how they want to and still have a chance of gaining access to the beta?

this happened to me after an update a while back they would stack again after taking all out of storage and switching maps maybe that will work

would be nice to see.

Not too sure about rune and sigil storage some of the more used runes/sigils are expensive enough adding them to storage would probably encourage more people to save them lowering supply increasing there prices

just over 20mb its only a small bug fix

You can make a folder anywhere on you hard drive to put them in as long as the game.dat and gw2.exe files are in the same folder and make sure you create a shortcut to the exe file.
You may want to search you hard drive for the missing game.dat file as well its just shy of 20gb and having extra copies laying about will eat up your disk space

I had to re-install not long ago and experienced troubles was getting speeds of 3mb/sec but then dropping down to 0kb/sec then spiking and dropping off again. Tried running the client as admin and got a decent constant download speed maybe you could try that.

I think the 30,000 files you downloaded today would of been yesterdays update/patch and not re-downloading the entire game again.
