After erasing 6 chapters of angry all-caps rants on how much the holiday jumping puzzles and the byproduct emotions that would kill cats/dogs that lay on the head or lap.
I’m just going post 3 short features of holiday jumping puzzles the scream why the designer and creator(s) are terrible at their respective jobs.
1. TIME LIMITS ON VERTICAL MAPS
All this does basically does letting people with high end PCs the capacity of accurately sensing the location AND time on the SIMPLEST forward jumps. While on lower end older laptops, this is a freaking nightmare. It’s hard a.f. already to detect your forward motions at 8fps, then you can’t just sit and figure out where you are, you are forced to jump forward and fail 80% of the time.
THIS LITERALLY WASTES OUR TIME FOR FRUSTRATIONS SAKE AND THE CHANCES OF FEELING GLAD ARE VERY SLIM GOING UP, which leads me to my next feature…
2. Janky VERTICAL maps using a janky video game camera.
The winter Holiday map toned down the the swirly hell that was in october, BUT IT’S STILL A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I have to move my camera over and over for each direction the tiles go, but when you play at 8fps IT LITERALLY LAGS THE SCREEN TO EXTREMES. THE FPS DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER WITH ALL THE SNOWFALL
3. WEATHER
snow + wind + dank atmosphere =more lag than the usual 8 FPS = impossible to clear = slam keyboard/mouse rage.
My Guild Wars 2 opening client for the past 3 days has had issues connecting to the server, the log in page won’t show at all
This all happened when it started downloading the latest patch.
it downloaded for 3 seconds, then kaput, it said “connection error(s) detected. Retrying” now ever time i click to open my client
Armor and weapons can gambled into different items
Why not let us mystic rng toilet with 4 finished food products for 1 other amazing or similar food item?
Played GW 1 several years (pre-night fall) before GW 2
I fell in love with the different stories of guild wars 1, the story/lore created in each of the expansions was fantastic. Morality was black and white sometimes, other times very manipulative (check spoilers), and plainly black and white.
The White Mantle appearing to be the savior of humanity in Northern Tyria, only to be the main antagonists in the later parts of the story completely one-upping us. Kournan army being completely manipulated into nearly unleashing the God Abaddon
Ascalonians were fighting a desperate war for survival, Canthans were struggling from internal strife, and racial conflicts were illustrated/explored in Elonia.
But what do we get in Guild Wars 2? we get everything that is listed, Humans in general feel discontent being “friendly” with the Charr, Every faction is facing internal strife, and at least humans are facing a struggle for survival against everything already swarming in the world.
What is lacking in GW2 at least concerning lore, is the intensity of the conflicts. Check spoilers by what I mean by “lacking intensity”.
In Guild Wars Prophecies we are manipulated from the very moment we enter Kryta from being aided by the White Mantle, then the undead Vizier of Orr to unleash the Titans, a terribly destructive race of elemental creatures of the Realm of Torment created by the minions of the Banished God of War.
For those of you who don’t want to spoil the story of GW1 from the spoilers, the main point is that the strife and conflicts we experience in GW2 is not explored well enough from beginning to end levels. Even past lvl 80 into the living story, it’s not enough, there isn’t that deep hatred that old players felt against the Charr, the vibrant urge for aggression over controlling NPC towns by player alliances.
For people new to Guild Wars 2, entering guild wars, they could understand the idea of races unifying for a common purpose, but for many of GW 1 veterans, there is a burning desire to murder all the Charr and continue the conflict in Ascalon. What makes this worse is the creative direction that is being forced onto players of sticking onto one sided morality sticks, that was first felt with Nightfall.
At least in Prophecies, morality was very clear among all factions at the end of the stories. Cantha (post purity movement) morality was moved side to side, but clear, afflicted are evil, the Gangs aren’t all that bad.
But in NF and EOTN, it just felt wrong, why should we tolerate the insultingly arrogant Asura, the ignorant Norn, the undead hordes of Palawa Joko, or our long hated enemy the Charr? The obvious answer among players is that either they should because of a larger threat and “no” because they are truly despicable.
And what of the other races?
Centaurs have remained the same in Kryta, the Dredge turned into a means for Anet to show a authoritarian communist state, and Jotuns are the same.
What the hell happened to all the vicious giant Dinosaurs that caused all the terror throughout the Tarnished Coast?
There were so many lore/story concepts removed, and shoveled in was under developed concepts that did not have very many deep expositions.
Morally gray scenarios positions are forced upon us, such as Ascalonian decedents are forced to become the enemy, Centaurs who largely want peace (but coerced by the Modniir Tribe) are forced to become the permanent enemy.
And already morally gray scenarios are left without progress, the centaurs are already a clear example, the inquest are still considered a vibrant part of asuran society given the atrocious and unforgivable acts commited for their twisted ideology, the nightmare court still remains at large but are left with no additional substantial developments, minister Caudecus is still left in complete haitus (even though he’s apparently one of the most powerful men in the world), and Ebonhawke is still the same.
I think what makes Guild Wars 2 weaker than Guild Wars is that the world might too big with multiple stories to actually build everything forward, therefore the enjoyment of the plot is overall weak. In Guild Wars, the stories may have been linear, but they were explored fantastically.
I loved the lore concerning the Gods and their relationship to humanity/Bloodstones I loved pre-searing to the deepest parts of my love for the franchise.
There are plenty of other mechanical aspects to Guild Wars 2 that I love/hated (mostly loved) transitioning from Guild Wars 1.
But these are the feelings concerning story/lore/setting development and exposition.
TIL people on the forums don’t know how much of a time sink it is at low levels.
Why should people be able to just pay to unlock waypoints instead of actually playing the game.
Like it or not, but Guild Wars 2’s world is huge to cover on foot and disrespectful to everyone’s time to unlock vast distances.
We can argue endlessly whether or not exploring is considered “playing the game”, I’d argue it isn’t because I didn’t pay to play a walking simulator.
Next thing you know people will be asking to pay gold to insta-level characters to 80 because ‘who wants to have to level multiple characters to 80 and have to spend hours playing all of that content’….
Tell me what is wrong with asking to level up, it’s already common knowledge people absolutely hate the early level experience grind after their first max level character.
Most people skip all that content and head straight for chain train meta events or WvW to get exp because they don’t want to bother with the vast distances needed to cover every Renown Hearts.
Is this a troll post? 26-45 for 50 gold each map? Trololol xD
Sorry I miss spelled, meant to say 50 silver not 50 gold
Weapon Hue Changer
I think there is a very big problem with this, and that is the possibility of making complete clown overlords become a reality in guild wars. but overall great idea I’d enjoy a glowing silver Bonetti’s Rapier
custom dungeon
I don’t like the custom dungeon complex idea because, there will be a ton of curation required, and we won’t know if custom dungeons are balanced or fair at all.
The Chest
idea is impractical, and would litter maps with random dedicated chests, if you want to know lock chest cluttering maps and ruining gaming expeirences look towards minecraft. Mail Box system works fine as is, and distributing items should be easier with guild banks.
Armor/weapon names
Armor and Weapon names, this is an easy avenue for trolls to abuse the naming system as is. But Anet seriously needs to improve their armor naming system.
Drama Guide
Aww that would be a sweet addition to the game
I don’t quite understand what you mean by normal leveling system. I thought all characters obtain experience at the same rate, someone earlier today mentioned giving experience from already lvl 80 to their lower level characters via “mentoring” so that they wouldn’t have to experience the low level grind.
mentoring mentioned would basically be the player would choose to give their lower level characters a proportion of their earned experience while playing their higher level character.
I’ll admit that is nice.
Allow us to pay with coin currencies to unlock way points (not points of interest or visas) that are at our level range per map.
An NPC cartographer can be stationed at each of the major cities
For example the Cartographer can offer 50 silver for low level areas between the range of
1-25 for 10 silver each map.
26 – 45 for 50 silver each map.
46 – 65 for 1.5 gold each map.
66 – 75 for 2 gold each map.
and
76 – 80 for 3 gold for each map.
Remove experience reward for Way points and buff the experience reward to unlocking Visas and Points of Interest.
This will help most long term players be more game mobile with multiple character classes and help new players efficiently reach their personal story points.
And most importantly it saves of many people their time.
No one enjoys the painful sweaty experience of spending hours trying to unlock simple travel points between 6 different characters. Unless they are a masochist or geographer. (this last sentence is a joke)

The main reason the supply of charged cores is so low relative to the other cores is due to the insane un-market to market demand for charged cores in the production of both legendary weapons and the Infinite Light blade
Something that seriously grinds my gears to the point of rage quitting Guild Wars 2 for several months is the serious time disrespectful under effective skills over hearted enemies.
Awhile back I was tried to to play pve solo and kill the champion Jungle Troll in Thundertroll Swamp.
Failed miserable a few times realized it was a group event, and went in with 2 guild mates.
For 2 hours long frustrating hours of constantly fighting that b——ard only to give-up and die from the fact that the boss could keep regenerating and spam aoe poisen and slowly kill everyone from slow ineffective recharging self heal ability. I tried to fight other group even bosses, every time completely wrecked. Low-level to high.
I decided to take a look at what was wrong, my traits were maxed out on healing and power for my build how the hell am I not able to have a healing that could give me the duration needed to last those bosses. I decided to just to skip champions and just aim for elites for veteran bosses. Easier, but took 30-15 min each. I looked at the average attack I made did 1% damage. checked for ways to do more damage, none all my skills did average same amount of damage when fully vested traits to power.
Struck my mind, this game is a time wasting meat grinder. Every skill is ineffective at actually doing heavy critical damage to PvE creatures, aside from simply dedicating to the annoying Berzerker set gears. Every Heal skill is ineffective at keeping you alive for a drawn out battle.
This game’s combat progression is basically guild wars 1 combat except you can only do normal attacks and do neat little tricks that fire 3 shots instead of one but have absolutely no effective damage output.
Solution make 2, 3, 4 skills do MORE DAMAGE and Conditions more COMBAT EFFECTIVE (longer durations) and make 6, 7, 8 utility skills provide healing, or 5 provide MUCH MORE DURATION AND EFFECTIVENESS.
was playing an elementalist, theif, guardian, and warrior.
So now we will all be forced to grind annoying hours on dungeons/PvE just to BUY all our BLACK and WHITE dyes from the even more rare unidentified dyes, thanks Anet you really ruining the experience even more and not caring about our time.
So with the recent blogpost, I’m a bit annoyed and a bit happy.
On the plus side:
we won’t have to be spamming for the “buy button the black abyss dyes” for every single character at insanely high prices then end up crying in guild chat how kitten poor we are at our bank accounts.
On the bad side:
Since it won’t drop as loot anymore, meaning no more lucky unidentified dyes from gathering roots/cutting trees/digging rocks. We will all be forced to use the limited laurels as the most cost/time efficient method of gathering unidentified dyes for the slightest chance at getting the insanely high priced dyes (those prices will remain high regardless, because black and white are always demanded)
I still feel this is the WRONG move by Anet, because it screams to me that all they are telling is to, either spend real money on gems store dye sets, or conveniently farm your life away.
I do recall the Anet employee in a different thread argued that the market is efficient, that is complete nonsense, this isn’t the market correcting its price from the rapid inflow of information, its the market sporadically reacting to speculation and causing limited horizontal hyper-inflation.
If demand were to decrease, then price would decrease, what we saw today was that dye traders (economic exploiters of the common gw2 gamers) cut off all their current supply, and a huge influx of demand from buyers. Naturally, supply curve went left far less than the demand curve pushing far right. This has created a shortage and jacked up prices. On the long run without a steady inflow of dyes (most come from unidentified dyes because most people aren’t stupid enough to buy 500 of each vegetable/fruits/herbs to craft dyes) prices will remain insanely high.
Farmers will be able to afford everything regardless economic catastrophes (unless there is some economic even so serious that the entire supply on the trade post is wiped out).
I feel bad for the people who don’t have much time playing this game to spend it farming currency just to improve their roleplaying experience with better armor colors.
I think Anet has a really bad history of breaking their economy and making PvE unattractive recycled gameplay gunk. Then trying to fix the economy by cutting supply routes in cities and pushing players toward an already unattractive PvE.
I want to make this post relevant to dyes being un-droppable, so I won’t discuss that much about PvE here.
I’d agree with most of everything from the 25th announcement, except for making unidentified dyes un-droppable.
If Anet really wants to tackle serious supply problems in the BLTP, they should tackle the problem of a severe lacking a vanilla beans, which can only be found sparsely in annoying high level places (blood tide or devastation straight) or sparsely in annoying low level areas (Metrica province, Brisbane, and Caledon forest). Or the chaotic lodestone market that forced everyone into the mind numbing horrid experience of running through a dungeon more than 250 times.
That map is gawd aweful with all the jumping, the game’s camera is terrible devs, jumping + large objects makes it worse
KILL TRAHEARNE, please for the love of the 6 gods and eternal blah blah kill him!
will this ever return?
Will we ever be able to see the beloved city again? Tyria’s boring
How the hell did gold deflate so much? Is there a deficiency of gems in the market? did Gold moguls shovel out all the gold in the market? Is anet manipulating the market on purpose so people would buy them?
Now casual players will have to lifelessly farm for gem store items even more at this exchange rate. likely hood of that happening is none, because their casuals.
I’ve been, off, then on and off, and now off gw2 since the whole karka annoyance fest.
What I’ve observed, living story RUINS basic lore terribly.
Why can’t they make a living story that ENDS the war between humans and centaur? Why is it that the game is being subjected into the mind numbing experience of fighting off wave of new enemies “X” only to be replaced with new enemies “Y”
Why is it that the Charr can’t just finally end their war with the ghosts rather than being stuck on the same freaking progression of time? Example: “oh look I just traveled down to the depths of Ascalon’s ruins and killed the ghost king that should weaken them” returns to the surface, ENTIRE ghost army respawns. Why won’t the Asura just murder the Inquest? Why won’t the pact go on a genocidal rampage and just kill every single member of the nightmare court?
Why won’t any of the factions fight for control over Lions arch? Plenty of human royalists angry that the city state left the kingdom, Charr are constantly looking for territory.
The current state of the game appears to me to be trapped in an ice cube slowly rolling down a hill of quality as a gust of living story wind futilely tries to push it up, but it keeps falling faster.
As a chef profession in gw2, bananas area crafting item, why isn’t there any slot for it to be saved?
If I updated my card and deleted my old card, did a new transaction will that overwrite the code for old transaction recently made? will my account suffer any consequences? (will I need to come back to submit a ticket?)
One thing I’ve noticed is that there are primary field commanders who all pick-up-group players and dedicated mega-alliance guilds follow, then there are havoc commanders who run covert operations or multi pronged attacks.
Can we add more functionality to how commanders are displayed on the map, rather than having people rely on third party software.
Also can commanders during wvw please HAVE more chat limits so that they may command more effectively.
WvW
1. Nightcappers/ NA guilds on EU servers – You go to bed at midnight with a nice advantage of your server and the next morning everything you worked for is gone. This is not encouraging and has nothing to do with skillful playing.
That would be called server population imbalances
Sever population Imbalances and skill lag
I have my debit card saved, but I just got my new card and its activated… I don’t recall using my new cards information on my account to be saved. In my haste to see if i can update the card information. I realized that I don’t know how to. I checked my bank account and it says transaction pending… Will I get banned? More importantly will my transaction be denied?
same things been happening to me
tried to open gw2, game made a notepad document with this text:
App: Gw2.exe
Fatal error (3): Failed to commit memory from the OS (code 1455)

1. More silver/copper rewards for doing dynamic events
explanation:
Recently the most feasible method for impatient gamers (you can power trade like any other MMO) of earning coin is via dungeon because you can salvage the high level gear for some very expensive (not anymore due to horridly implemented living story) crafting material and sell green items that drop like rain in the dungeons. As a result of this, no one plays PvE anymore unless it is for a guild mission.
2. Multi location invasions, invasions only trigger if certain dynamic events are completed.
Explanation:
Overflow servers suck really bad because most of the way points are usually shut down largely due to the fact that PvE is all but abandoned. Invasions gave incentives for players to go back into PvE because the rewards are ridiculously high, but they go back for the completely wrong reasons.
they(players) not going back to help out towns being invaded by wild creatures, they are going back to farm the living crap out of invasion drops because the rewards are overtly lucrative compared to anything else in the freaking game.
3. daily chests (that may or may not reward laurels) for completing dynamic events
explanation:
This will give player players incentive to go into dynamic evens and complete them (and most possibly MAKE FREAKING WAYPOINTS AVAILIBLE AGAIN).
iron dropped 20 copper the moment this living story began, its is a serious economic problem…
Anet: We are not going to allow gold sellers to sell gold because it will deflate the economy…
Anet: Goes ahead and starts a living story that deflates the economy
Response to insane difficulty scale of Living Story: easier mobs, more farm, more zergs
community split response:
1. YES PRICES OF CRAFTING MATERIALS ARE SO LOW (oversupply due to living story flash mobs and spams of coffers), LETS ALL exploit it to living hell and stay quiet about it, while crafting directly to lvl 80
2. FPS just died, I can’t play the living story, give me back my culling.
3 wtf out of 60 ppl in this zerg AND NO ONE RESERECTS ME I hate Zergs
Authors note: If you make economic short cuts that are exploitive (regardless of difficulty) in an MMO, you kill the entertainment experience for many casual players. Btw, came back from a long break off GW2, love the concept of a wallet (no more pesky deposit/withdrawal budgeting nightmares). This living story killed PvE even more so than Dungeons, or dynamic event reward nerfs.
I still have many problems with this MMO, due to the many structural(fixable) flaws I have with it (concerned with strictly PvE NOT WvW), which I will find time to post fixes in the suggestion section.
I absolutely agree with this message
I wish they turned flawless snowflake into silk, there is WAY too much of that in the market
It appears to me, that many regions in PvE are widely abandoned unless there is a living story (which people farm into overflow), high tier dungeon (another farm), or WvW rewarding coop pve.
mid-high level PvE (excluding organized dungeons/Living story events/dungeon events) is starting to turn out to be something like GW1, which is that if you don’t have a group, you’re pretty much dead with any mistakes. And to be very frank, its simply not possible to timely solo a High Priest of Melandru (considering that hulking piece of flesh summons champion gorillas) and kd/cripples you to hell.
So how do we get the PvE more filled?
do they stack? like 2 gold laurel infusions
cows speak to you with
Mooo?
We have chairs in the cities:
SIT ON THE FLOOR
We have crowbars laying around(pick them up):
their pointy wood sticks
If we are able to construct our home districts with new banners/ribbons. Construct beds and everything, we use raw materials.
Such as silk for Silk blankets
Wood for wooden chairs (that we can actually sit on rather than the dirty floor)
I highly doubt it. At any rate, Ascalon apparently belonged to the charr first before the humans drove them out. I’m not sure humans have a “right” to it.
Anyway it seems Charr at this point in time are more successful than humans.
Yes like how the charr nuked the entire country with meteors gives them a “right” to the land either
old school Exalted Armor would be nice, good set of kitten Elite Templar armor/Plated/Charr (I don’t think charr would like this one), Monk inscribed armor was VERY COOL/Obby armor.
Kurzick/Luxon/Imperial armor skins were nice.
Old School runic blade I WANT THIS BLADE SO BAD PLEASE BRING IT BACK
I have been an adamant supporter of the Ascalonian cause to rid Ascalon (at least old Ascalon) of the fur balls called “Charr”. While playing the living story fighting with the human separatists made me feel very guilty, while bashing in the skulls of Charr fulfilled my bloodlust (25 stacks woot woot!).
Will Ascalon reclaim its glorious homeland, and King Samuelsson sit upon the throne?
for the sake of survival, can there be a peace treaty between SoS and TC to fight vs the endless hordes of rall?
Why the heck does a Tier 4 Server SoS, Tier 2 TC, get matched up with SoR?
We are getting farmed, its the first freaking day and we are already getting siege spawn camped on our own borderlands
Will Anet ever make this mini available in the Gem Store?
I’m sorry but its just when you work on your character after salvaging ~15000 shields
for iron/seasoned wood, trade in the gold (tirelessly clicked for) for gems, then see gem value fall in value. It makes me doubt that the fall is due to the gems being bought, since ANet has been spamming all these gimmicky items in the gem store, which makes me feel that they are going low on cash and need more. Now I’m really confused..
I spent a ton of time trying to make a decent profit off of gold in game from salvaging a lot of items, turned it into gold, traded for gems, then I see gems fall in value, meaning I gave more gold than gems I got back…. not happy
Saw people making all these redeem code generators, sickens me to see how video gamers would rather “steal” from publishers/developers, who already give an option to buy gems that can be traded for in game currency.
Anyone else get disturbed by this as well?
Please don’t bring stuff like this up on the forums. It only makes people go looking for them. If you have a suspicion that someone is using something like this, report them.

Edit: posted after losing a ton of gold because gems are literally falling in value, assumption : oversupply of gems in market.
Suspicions: many people are cheating in the game rather than actually buying gems the honest ways.
Anyone else get disturbed by this as well?

0,0 just realized my post is stupid… need a mod or admin to delete this post
People with full max gear are getting steam rolled by the spawns, this is plain wrong. I know its a good thing to promote teamwork, but it is incredibly infuriating, when you are on low populated servers, and you can’t engage in living stories.
