Hi slushey!!!!!!
Have you tried switching back to personal story? Or does that not work? I haven’t tried it.
You can’t replay the Personal Story, and since I’ve already finished it I can’t go back to it at the current time. My problem, however, is that I wanted to replay a few specific parts of the new Living Story Season 2, and now I have to replay everything if I want to get rid of the green star (which is a pain) from my UI.
Also, hey Xenon.

The glow on Sylvari cultural armour seems to break a lot…

Don’t get me wrong, I think this is a great feature and should continue to be implemented in the Living Story. However, I honestly didn’t want to replay ALL of the new content, and I don’t really care about the achievements, so can we please have an option to cancel the story replay without finishing everything again?
That green star which is now hovering over my UI is incredibly irritating, and I won’t be using the feature in the future if this is going to be how it works. There is a couple of parts which I would love to replay, such as the final boss fight against Aerin, but if it comes at the cost of having a green star pestering me until I replay everything else, I probably won’t use try this again.
Again, great work on the “Replay Episode” feature – I think it’s a great addition to the game, but it would be nice to be able to replay selected content without having to finish all of it.

Before we get into needing new stat combos, we need game balance that promotes using something other than berserker gear.
That’s what the whole change from Critical Damage to Ferocity is about.
Blackgate | Knîghtmare [KnM] | Knights of the Temple [KnT] | Attuned [Att]
P.S. – Whatever you do, do not put condition duration as a stat on armor.
It already is – it’s called Giver’s.
Blackgate | Knîghtmare [KnM] | Knights of the Temple [KnT] | Attuned [Att]
This is a gear set I’ve wanted for a very long time, which I’ll dub ‘Hybrid’ gear.
Power (Major)
Condition Damage (Minor)
Boon Duration (Minor)
When playing an Elementalist I’ve loved playing with Scepter/Dagger and Scepter/Focus builds, but my biggest problem is the spread between regular damage and condition damage. For example, Scepter Fire 1 is condition damage, while Scepter Fire 2 is regular damage. Since it’s incredibly hard to separate one from the other, I feel that this stat set would allow us to utilize both damage sources of these weapon sets, while also allowing for skilled Elementalists to make use of increased periods of time under the effects of boons such as Fury and Might for both increased damage and condition damage.

Unfortunately we didn’t get the kill, but considering the majority of players who attended had never attempted the wurm before, getting two of the wurms down to 5% was a really good run in my opinion. :P

Oceanic Wurm Event: Friday @ 7:00pm (AEST)
(Approximately 23 hours from this post.)
To give Oceanic players an opportunity to attempt the wurm, Attuned [Att] will be hosting a public wurm raid this Friday (February 28th) for any players who wish to attend. The starting times for the event are as follows:
- SERVER TIME — Setup: 12:00am // Event: 1:00am
- Sydney (AEST) — Setup: 7:00pm // Event: 8:00pm
- Melbourne (AEST) — Setup: 7:00pm // Event: 8:00pm
- Brisbane (AEST) — Setup: 6:00pm // Event: 7:00pm
- Adelaide (ACST) — Setup: 6:30pm // Event: 7:30pm
- Darwin (ACST) — Setup: 5:30pm // Event: 6:30pm
- Perth (AWST) — Setup: 4:00pm // Event: 5:00pm
- New Zealand (NZT) — Setup: 9:00pm // Event: 10:00pm
- Hawaii (HAST) — Setup: 10:00pm // Event: 11:00pm (Thursday)
- US West Coast (PST) — Setup: 12:00am // Event: 1:00am
- US East Coast (EST) — Setup 3:00am // Event: 4:00am
Prior to the event we’ll be posting our TeamSpeak 3 address on Reddit and the Guild Wars 2 forums for players to join. This will be posted approximately an hour before we start setting up (any time after 11:00pm server time).
We’ll be announcing the server/overflow for the event on TeamSpeak, so you will need to join us in order to attend the event.
This is also not an event which players will be able to be carried through and still get a wurm kill, it will take the participation, cooperation and dedication and each and every player attending the event in order to succeed.
As such, we request that all attendees prepare the following prior to the event:
- Download and install TeamSpeak 3.
- Stock up on Fire Elemental Powder.
- Stock up on Ogre Pet Whistles.
- Stock up on Deployable Mortar Kits.
- Buy Sharpening Stones, Tuning Crystals or Maintenance Oils.
- Necromancers: please bring CONDITION based gear/builds.
- Other classes: since the wurms are immune to critical damage during phase 1, SOLDIER gear is permissible. However, ZERKER gear is still viable due to phase 2 where it is once again vulnerable to critical hits.
We look forward to seeing everybody there!
EDIT: This event will be taking place on a North American server.

If you cannot damage an Elementalist 1k – 2k damage, you deserve to lose.
Please note, if the Elementalist goes 30 in Earth to get this, they sacrifice all damage, healing power and/or evasive arcana.
This.
As an Elementalist, trust me, it doesn’t take long for this immunity to ware down. After the first few attacks most Elementalists will be below threshold and susceptible to conditions again. As Otaur said above, if you can’t do 1k – 2k damage, chances are you won’t be winning anyway.

I couldn’t quite put two and two together until now, but today I have come to realize that a forced name change awards players with a Heroic Chest containing 10 Experience Boosters, an 18 Slot Mithril Box and a choice of Primeval, Krytan or Profane armour sets.
Late last week my account was suspended for a name which violated the naming policy, and I was forced to rename the character which was in tension with these rules. Upon renaming my character and logging back in, I received a mail containing the Heroic Chest which (if I recall correctly) thanked me for playing the game. I thought the message was just a ‘Merry Christmas’ kind of thing and that everybody else would receive it as ArenaNet rolled it out.
The chest has now been sitting in my inventory for almost a week, and it suddenly clicked for me today that nobody else seems to have sent me this. Bringing it up with my guild in TeamSpeak, it has now come to my attention that two others have also been sent this chest over the past few months. Both of these players had a forced name change on one of their characters for violating the Naming Policy and had been subsequently sent a Heroic Chest in the mail.
Not quite sure how nobody has reported this yet, considering the amount of players who receive forced name changes.

.: Aesthetic Progression :.
Guild Wars 2 undeniably has a large focus on the aesthetic progression of armour and weaponry and your characters overall appearance. While there is a wide range of weapon skins available for people to work towards, the majority of armour sets which are used as skins you can buy for no more than a few gold, and the only real challenging gear to get is dungeon armour sets and cultural armour (which is only a gold grind). I would personally love to see a wider range of armour sets available in game which people can work towards. I think level 500 crafters in armour professions should be able to create high level armour skins which they can apply to their armour.
Minis are also supposed to be an aesthetic feature which shows progression and wealth in the game, though as they stand they are almost unused. In Guild Wars 1 you would walk around major cities and see players with a wide range of different minis which they have collected over time. In Guild Wars 2, players tend to see them as a waste of bag space rather than a show of progression in the game, and for me personally they are always getting deposited whenever I deposit all the materials in my bag. For this, I think a tab should be added to the hero panel which allows players to place one of their minis on the ground and switch between them at will, without having to waste space in their bags or worry about accidentally depositing them into your banks all the time.

Funny how people try to derail the subject.
Half way? Thing has been barely up a day.
What? Halfway only means midpoint of something? It’s unfair for them to patch the game.
Got it.
change = patch?
1) Yes, half way generally means half way.
2) Well the patched changed things, and the changes were in the patch. So in this particular case they are one and the same.
Blackgate | Knîghtmare [KnM] | Knights of the Temple [KnT] | Attuned [Att]
I am confused. You say you had 250 of Dragonite, Bloodstone, and Empyreal in collections, plus another (2 stacks, each stack being 250, as stacks can not be any higher in the bank) 500 of each in the bank….for a total of 750 of each. And you refined them for a total of 7 refined items. What is the problem exactly?

It’s kind of infuriating. I spent about 7 gold on getting the five of these earlier, and I can’t make any of them. Not a single recipe was actually unlocked. Hopefully ArenaNet fixes this soon before more people waste their gold.

The image attached below is my idealistic view of a Commander System in Guild Wars 2.
One of the main ideas behind this design is the ease of joining a squad. The only reason I don’t join squads in WvW now is because it is somewhat complicated and takes a short amount of time unless you know the chat code. This system would allow players to quickly view a list of commanders on their map and select them to join their squad.
Another idea implemented in my design is the ability to restrict visibility and accessibility of your commander tag. While running in WvW currently the best strategy for a server is to have one commander tag, so any smaller groups just have to target their ‘commander’ in their party. This system would allow guilds to have a ‘hidden tag’ which only their guild members would be able to see.
A smaller and less significant idea is that of colour coding commander tags. A blue commander tag is a commander with whom you have no affiliation. A gold commander tag is a commander representing the same guild as you. And a red commander tag is a commander who’s squad you are in. Depending on your own individual relationship to each commander at the time, the colour of their tag will vary.
Blackgate | Knîghtmare [KnM] | Knights of the Temple [KnT] | Attuned [Att]
Should we allow a WvW upgrade to see enemy commanders (not on the map just on screen)?
Definitely not. Players already tab through the enemy zergs to find the commander and target them. Once they are targeted they’re will most likely die as your allies will dive straight for that one player. If you have an upgrade which allows players to see enemy commanders, then I (along with many others) will just start running tagless.

How so? Surely this fight is the same as the original one from the Molten Facility back in the day? Which means it’s quite doable once you get the hang of the routines of the 2 bosses.

Level 32 fractal. Rolled through the 3 fractals in 45 minutes (including Dredge). Spent 2.30 hours at the Molten Firestorm and Molten Berserker boss. We all just quit then. I genuinely feel sorry for PUG groups who can barely complete the first 3 fractals, you probably don’t stand a chance. That is all.

All of Tier 1 has stacked time zones:
- SoR was the first server to fully stack their NA.
- BG heavily recruits NA in order to compete with the map zergs.
- JQ has always had a stacked SEA.
Blackgate has lost many guilds recently:
- NA: [RISE] left BG for FA, before leaving again and joining SoR.
- NA: [rB] joined BG for a while before collapsing and mostly transferring to SoR.
- OC: [MERC] left BG and joined JQ for ‘greener pastures’.
- SEA: [SUPR] left BG because of the T1 lag and joined silver tier.
- NA: [RICH] left BG to join a silver tier server.
- Several other guilds…
Blackgate hasn’t gained more players than we previously had:
- NA: [EE] joined BG and filled the shoes of [RISE], [rB], [RICH], etc.
- OC: [Zero] joined BG and fields about 15 – 20 people during OC.
- SEA/EU: [ZDs] joined BG and is helping during late SEA and EU.
We’re not bigger than before, most likely smaller:
- Our OC is much smaller than it’s previously been since [MERC]‘s departure.
- Our NA is no more stacked than yours, and is less stacked than it previously was.
- Our SEA is fairly decent now with the addition of [ZDs].
- Our EU isn’t even close to being stacked.
So how are we winning?
The fact is, Blackgate has always been a hardcore WvW-focussed server. This is the first league, and believe it or not, we want to win (just as other servers do). Last week guilds like [ICoa], [GoF] and [KnT] (amongst others) stayed up 5 or 6 hours into OC to help fill our weakest time zone, while other guilds like [OnS] are getting up early in order to help assist the EU. Not to mention all of the OC guilds on Blackgate (even the PvE and PvX guilds) are banding together during OC and SEA in order to provide numbers. As soon as leagues are over, I guarantee most of us will be burned out and you’ll probably have several super easy weeks against us. But as I’ve already said, we take WvW very seriously and want to win, and we will all try our best to make that happen.

I think there is something to the idea of PPT being higher during certain times of day, but it has sort of the opposite problem.
[Before I begin, I want to point out that the game currently lacks Oceanic and South-East Asian server options, so players from these regions are forced to play on either a North American or European server and therefore shouldn’t be penalised in their efforts because they have no other options.]
As an Oceanic WvW player on a North American server, I know that servers struggle to pull numbers during the Oceanic (OC), South-East Asian (SEA) and European (EU) time zones in contrast to the North American (NA) time slot. However, the WvW-focused guilds online during OC, SEA and EU slots put in just as much effort as the NA guilds do. Penalising these time slots not only devalues the effort players put in, but also reduces the desire to put in hours for a time zone which barely helps the servers war score.
I do, however, see the problem in a server stacking a specific time zone. Up until recently Blackgate severely lacked in the EU slot compared to Sanctum of Rall who had previously gained several large European guilds which dominated tier 1 during the EU hours. Part of overcoming this has been trying to find new WvW players who could fill our time zone.
All servers lack population during certain hours, but I believe part of being a WvW community is aiming to grow your WvW player base all times of the day, not just NA. This might be recruiting guilds from others servers, or simply organising for a PvE guild on your own server to join you in WvW occasionally.
This idea of reducing PPT during certain hours also raises the issue of unofficial OC and SEA servers. Servers such as Sea of Sorrows, Fort Aspenwood and Isle of Janthir are rich in OC players but lack NA coverage, yet are based on a NA server. If the PPT gained during the OC slot was reduced, they could put in the same amount of hours as NA on their opposing server and still loose because their time and effort isn’t worth as much. The same would apply to Jade Quarry which has a large SEA player base and a smaller NA coverage, so they would be at a major disadvantage despite the dedicated and skilled players on the server.
All in all, I don’t believe reducing the PPT rate during selected times of the day is a good idea at all, as the efforts of OC and SEA players would be neglected, and I’m sure EU players would go back to EU servers where their hard work could be more effective.
The problem is that some timezones do not work anywhere near as hard as NA primetime, yet they determine the match. Are you really trying to say that those timezones where pretty much no map has a queue and things aren’t well defended is equal to NA primetime where nearly every map has a queue and everything is well defended? Sorry, but I don’t think the effort the timezones put in is near what NA primetime has to put in. Sure you put in the same amount of time, but there is a whole lot less stress and tactics involved.
What needs to be incorporated is scaling points based on population. Meaning that if you’re taking things while a map is completely queued for all sides it is worth a lot more than when a map has 20 people on one side and maybe 5 on the other two. It doesn’t discriminated against any timezone but it emphasizes the difficulty and effort required to do so when you’re actually fighting an opponent. There would obviously be a baseline value so contributions when matchups are lopsided are still worth something but not high enough to solely determine the winner of the match.
Firstly, I think the suggestion you put forward in the second paragraph has some value to it. In all honestly, it’s probably amongst the most effective that I’ve seen presented in this thread.
However, your first paragraph is completely and utterly ignorant. While it is true that NA is pretty much the only time zone which can queue all four maps, that doesn’t make the job of OC, SEA and EU any easier. During OC prime every single map in tier 1 WvW has some has a force on every map (roughly 20 – 40 people each). Fighting two other servers with roughly equal numbers is still just as much as a challenge, especially considering the room in each map for a second force to hop over and outnumber you with double the people. Not to mention the fact that when this happens and keeps on other borderlands get hit we have to swiftly move around to assist while still being agile enough to hold down our own assigned map. If anything, I would argue that the work put in by OC, SEA and EU is far more than NA which consistently has enough numbers on all four maps to hold down their territory and enough people to spare to sit down to scout.

This thread isn’t about whether or not Jade Quarry gets an easy win. It’s about the overtime that Blackgate and Sanctum of Rall have to put in to stand a chance. Blackgate is weak during Oceanic, so members of our NA guilds are staying up late to give their support. Our SEA also needs support, so our Oceanics are doing overtime. Then we have to deal with the EU, so NA guilds are getting up early. The fact is that people want their efforts to go towards something, and putting in all these extra hours is useless is Jade Quarry only needs to play overtime for 3 or 4 weeks compared to Blackgate and Sanctum of Rall who only get one week where we don’t need overtime. It’s physically draining and commanders and players alike are going to burn out with all this pressure. People want to win, its the first league, and we want a fair chance.

2) Commander Functionality (improved squad benefits, chat suppression, etc).
3) Guild Functionality (inactive accounts, more permissions, better control, etc).

who cares?? JQ will be bored to tears, while BG and SOR get to have some epic battles. The only real victims r servers 4-5-6.
That’s a good point.
The real winners might be SoR and BG. As long as you don’t care about kittening rewards or being in “first”.
It’s the first WvW Season in Guild Wars 2, so regardless of what anybody tells me, I know everybody wants to win this and be the first victors. Sure we might get some great fights, but people also want their effort to go towards something, and the fact that SoR and BG are already at a huge disadvantage regardless of how much effort they put in is utterly ridiculous.
Blackgate | Knîghtmare [KnM] | Knights of the Temple [KnT] | Attuned [Att]
So, let me get this straight. Jade Quarry has half of their match ups against servers who don’t stand a chance (while BG and SoR get one each), and they ALSO get the natural advantage in EBG since the Green Keep and third of the map has always been the easiest to defend. Oh hell, I give up. Congratulations on your win, Jade Quarry!
Blackgate | Knîghtmare [KnM] | Knights of the Temple [KnT] | Attuned [Att]
Jared: Umm…you wanna give Tarnished Coast four first place finishes? =S That’s almost guaranteed to screw one of the T1 servers out of third place…
Obviously it can be tweaked, but the idea behind it is that during JQ’s three easy weeks we could have had at least 2 easy weeks each amongst BG/SoR/JQ.

Wait…so we’re supposed to lose to SoS and Mag the second time we meet them?
There is no second time. This week is your only match up with SoS and Mag. Every week after this you will be at least with JQ, SoR or BG.
Someone needs to work on their reading comprehension…
“Round 7 11/29 thru 12/5
League Red Blue Green
Gold Blackgate Sanctum of Rall Jade Quarry
Gold Maguuma Sea of Sorrows Tarnished Coast”
Oops, didn’t notice Week 7 was only listed in the text and not the image, my mistake. No need to be rude though.

I completely agree with this. Blackgate and Sanctum of Rall will be burning themselves out almost every single week to try and win, meanwhile Jade Quarry will only have to put in effort for literally half of the season. How is it fair that JQ gets three weeks of easy match ups and BG/SoR only get one each? Not to mention Tarnished Coast who (no offence) only has one week where they even have a chance of winning a match up. Jade Quarry have pretty much already won Season 1 if this is going to be the schedule, so why should other servers even bother putting in overtime and working hard for a match up we will inevitably loose?

Well if I sell it now for 94g, and then it drops down to like 20g (which it was last year when released), then I can make 70g and keep the tonic. Otherwise I could be waiting many months until the price goes back up again.

I bought an Endless Halloween Tonic last year during Halloween and have held onto it since. I love the tonic dearly, but if it will be returning and is going to drop heavily in price, I want to get rid of it before the patch goes live. Does anybody know whether or not ArenaNet plans to reintroduce the tonic to the game, or am I safe to hold onto it for now?

Blackgate | Knîghtmare [KnM] | Knights of the Temple [KnT] | Attuned [Att]
Hello Mr World 2 Zone 2, I’m Slushey. Now get the ______ out of my Super Adventure Box and never come back.
I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 since launch, and without question the introduction of Super Adventure Box was my favourite update released in the game so far. The world was so carefully designed and the content was a lot of fun to play; both solo and with a group. When I saw that it was coming back I was overjoyed and I can honestly say I’ve never been so excited about a release in this game prior to this.
World 2 Zone 1 was very well redesigned, and World 2 Zone 3 is probably my favourite map in the entire Super Adventure Box. I ran Zone 3 with people from my guild and we had a lot of fun trying to navigate our way through the cliffs and over the ice. But between these two wonderful zones lied the horror known as World 2 Zone 2.
The Baubles for the achievements are in unrealistic places. People who have lives won’t have any chance of actually looking for these Baubles themselves; they will have to use a guide. Was this your goal, or did you actually think people would explore? Collecting the Baubles tonight took us 3 hours while following a Dulfy guide. Imagine trying to actually find all of them Baubles yourself. It would be torture! People shouldn’t need to use a guide though, they should have a reason to explore the Super Adventure Box, not just follow somebodies path to get a reward.
The map is poorly designed. When I first saw it I thought the last two Zones were just going to have been put together at the last minute to throw in (however it redeemed itself with Zone 3). The design of the level is disgusting – it looks like a child drew the entire thing. Nothing in that level seems to fit together. Piranhas in swimming pools which can jump and fly and launch themselves at you? Temples with giant church bells? Ninja Monkeys? It somewhat reminds me of a circus. And I hate the circus. It’s not artistic at all; it’s all just random crap thrown together.
Which takes me directly on to the Ninja Monkeys. Not only do these NPC’s not fit in with the rest of the Zone (minus the randomly placed temples), the monkeys with a sword are insane. While running at you it’s impossible to stun them with the Whip, you can’t hit them with your sword because when they are within range they instantly swing at you instantly and knock you back. They knock you back every second. They dodge attacks while standing still. How are you meant to kill them? Well you usually don’t die to them, but you will probably loose 2 or 3 hearts of health at least. So what do you do if more than one monkey is attacking you? Quite simply nothing, you don’t stand a chance. The ranged monkeys on the other hand look dumb. They don’t fight back, they constantly miss you with their ninja stars and they die in 2 hits of your stick.
Now I want to talk about the Dart Traps. Yes, I quite like these. But no, I don’t like what they do. Instant death? WHAT? These should have only done a heart or two of damage at most and maybe knocked you back. But instantly killing people… Really? They are everywhere and it’s obvious they only exist to chew up more and more of our Continue Coins.
Zone 2 is also far too long. Yes, there is the Shortcut Eagle, but all the achievements surrounding it require the completion of the entire map. I’ve literally raced people through it, and all of World 1 can be completed in the time it takes to complete World 2 Zone 2. Even if it is the next world and is supposed to be harder, do you think this is reasonable?
Moving on again I would like to speak about Shortcut Eagle. This “shortcut” is more like a nightmare. The thigns which are supposed to explode on the head sometimes don’t and knock you off the back, and sometimes the ones coming towards the tail won’t even hit you and you’ll still fall off of the Eagle. I like that the Shortcut Eagle actually requires a little skill as opposed to the Shortcut Worm were you just run straight through, but at least make it so that the average player can complete it without have to loose all of their lives.
Next time the Super Adventure Box returns, please consider redesigning and rebalancing Zone 2. I feel that it’s been the only let down in the Super Adventure Box so far and I would love to see a better version of it in the future to bring it back up to the standard of the rest of the game.

If I am not mistaken, you can get him from Moto, the backpack is from one of the tabs iirc.
You can only buy a Mini Moto from him, no backpack that I can see.

Mhmm, same… It would be cool to make this one really hard to get.

Purely my own speculation based on the above dialogue and a collection of other material I’ve noticed from this update. These are the key points I took from your dialogue and my analysis of them.
1) “You should be rewarded.”
2) “There’s a secret way to win the super adventure.”
3) "Find the hidden code on the rock. "
4) “With the code seek out the secret entrance.”
5) “Defeat the true enemy’s machine.”
6) “Destroy the true enemy’s machine and you will win.”
1) You will be given another reward. The only other reward seen in game so far from this update which hasn’t been found is the Plush Moto Backpack (http://i.imgur.com/JU7RpXW.png). My best guess is that this will be the reward the Genie speaks of.
2) There is an achievement called “Super Adventure Secret” which is awarded for speaking with the Genie, and also unlocks the achievement titled “Special Instruction”.
3) The hidden code can be found on a rock. Not sure what this means yet, but I’m pretty sure the hidden code will be a physical item in the Super Adventure Box which you will be able to take out of the dungeon. I haven’t done the Wizard boss yet, but I assume the hidden code will be towards the end to make it harder to obtain.
4) The secret entrance is near Research Waypoint in Rata Sum (http://i.imgur.com/YJYcEtS.jpg). After finding it I noticed a Living Story icon above a control panel. I’m almost certain this is the door the hidden code will unlock. When I use the control panel I get the message “ACCESS DENIED.”
5) With the help of a friend, I managed to get a screenshot inside the locked room with the ‘machine’ (http://i.imgur.com/0JieWMG.jpg). It’s completely useless at the moment since the key wasn’t used at the gate, but it gives us an idea of what is in there.
6) The way the Genie speaks about the machine leads me to believe it is a boss fight. The room itself however is far too small to host a boss. My best guess is that the machine will teleport you into a boss arena when you open the gate with the hidden code.

Super Backpack Cover SHOULDN'T Return.

If it returns then i demand the backpacks from southsun that i missed.
Exactly my point. If this skin gets bought back, what about all the other exclusive skins in the game? Should we just sell everything rare on the Trading Post? That when a brand new player has enough gold they can have it and look like they were here for the original? It defeats the whole purpose of making things exclusive. Exclusive items show you were around. They’ve provided new alternatives for newer players; that should be enough.

I’ve been looking everywhere on the internet and can’t find any information on this little guy, does anybody know where to get it? He’s so awesome! c:

It was 25 Bauble Bubbles last time for the backpack. Assuming you did each map available once per day, you earned 7 Bubbles (plus enough Baubles probably to make. But lets continue to assume 7. This should have taken no more than 20 – 30 minutes. If you ran it on two characters per day, you would have made at least 14 (possibly 16 assuming you gathered enough Baubles). But again, lets continue to assume 14 per day on two characters. Hell, let’s just assume you did 1 character per day in 20 – 30 minutes and got only 7 Bubbles. Do it for 4 days in a row and you would have had 28 Bauble Bubbles. You had not only 4 days, you had WEEKS, to collect the Bubbles. People put time and effort into earning the backpiece. It’s now a rare item that couldn’t just be bought with gold. If you didn’t have 20 – 30 minutes each afternoon for at least 4 days, I’m dearly sorry that you missed it. But people like me earned that backpiece and bringing it back just ruins the aesthetic of it. Nothing in this game is guaranteed to come back, get it while it’s here.
What if I couldn’t spare four days, on top of the other days required to finish all the other overlapping Living Story content at the time? What if I went on vacation? What if I work 60 hours a week?
You seem to be saying that if other people earned the backpack now, it would somehow invalidate the work you put into getting it. This makes no sense to me at all. Look at it this way. As time goes on, more people will have Legendary weapons – Does that mean that the people who crafted a Legendary 6 months after release are somehow invalidated by the people who crafted one a year after release? Of course not. Those players are just getting the rewards they want – on a schedule that suits them.
I just find it ridiculous that Arenanet would decide to bring back old content (i.e., the original SAB worlds and achievements) but not bring back the associated rewards. It is extremely frustrating to gamers with tight schedules like myself.
There was 4 weeks to work on it (April 1st – April 30th). If you couldn’t put aside 20 – 30 minutes during 4 days of them 4 weeks then I’m dearly sorry, but what’s the point of having exclusive items if they just keep coming back?

The Blue Super Backpack was for the original release only. You can still get a Green/Yellow backpack by completing the World 1 and World 2 meta achievements.
I fully support ArenaNet in their decision to stick by their choice to keep the Super Backpack Cover exclusive to those who participated in the first release of the Super Adventure Box. I hate seeing all the arguments about it, so I’m going to put logic behind it all.
Argument #1: People are complaining that they weren’t around for the first release of the Super Adventure Box and is therefore unfair that they cannot obtain the item any more. My response to this is quite simply that some items are supposed to stay exclusive in this game. It shows that players were there for a part of Guild Wars 2 history. The same deal goes with many other items in the game.
Argument #2: Other people are complaining that they didn’t get the time to obtain this skin during the last release of the Super Adventure Box because of other obligations both in real life and in game. This is what I’m going to focus on in this thread.
Back in April when you could buy the Super Backpack Cover it cost 25 Bauble Bubbles and 50 Silver. It was the only item which didn’t have a rare counterpart which could be sold, and was half the price of all the other skins both in Bubbles and Gold.
Assuming you did each map in the Super Adventure Box once per day, you earned 7 Bubbles. You got 2 from the first boss, 2 from the second, 2 from the third and 1 from the Rapids. Along with this you probably collected enough Baubles to make into a Bubble, therefore making 8. But lets continue to assume 7. Finishing every map for this reward shouldn’t have taken any more than 20 to 30 minutes.
If you ran it on two characters per day, you would have made double. Therefore you had 14 potential Bubbles in one day from two characters (possibly 16 if you collected enough Baubles). But again, lets continue to assume 14 per day on two characters. This should have taken less than an hour. Not to mention you could have used all five characters and spent 2 hours 30 minutes and got 35 Bubbles (plus another possible 5 Bubbles with collected Baubles). That could have been 40 Bubbles in one day with 5 characters.
But hell, let’s just assume you did 1 character per day in 20 – 30 minutes and got only 7 Bubbles. If you did this for just 4 days in a row you would have had 28 Bauble Bubbles. This is more than enough to buy the Super Backpack Cover. If this wasn’t enough time for you still, you had not only 4 days, you had 4 WEEKS to collect the Bubbles necessary for the backpack. That was plenty of time.
If you didn’t have 20 – 30 minutes each afternoon for at least 4 days, then I’m dearly sorry that you missed it. But people who worked for that backpack deserve to keep it rare and exclusive. Bringing it back just ruins the aesthetic of it. Nothing in this game is guaranteed to come back, you should get it while it’s here or risk never being able to get it again.

I was very disappointed today, to find that I can’t get the backpack from the original SAB. I had no interest in any of the other skins the first time around. But that backpack was PERFECT for my asura character.
However, I didn’t have time to complete SAB, due to the fact that it was overlapped with another living story, and I did not have time to complete both, due to work and home life.
Since I knew SAB was returning, I saved ALL my accumulated baubles and continue coins for this day…
Only to discover that the thing I wanted all along is NOT available.
I understand that you wanted the backpack to be “special” to those who participated in the first one, but what about people like me, who participated, but couldn’t log the hours to get those 20 bubble baubles? (I got 9.)
The new green/yellow one will not suffice. It will look completely wrong for my character’s colour scheme.
What point is there in depriving your players the chance to get the things they want for their characters, through no fault of their own?
Think about this. Please.
It was 25 Bauble Bubbles last time for the backpack. Assuming you did each map available once per day, you earned 7 Bubbles (plus enough Baubles probably to make. But lets continue to assume 7. …………………..
Not just the backpack, please bring back all of the skins from the previous release. It makes no sense whatsoever to release a bunch of new skins for the other weapons and then leave out the previous ones. And the green and yellow skins don’t look as good as the regular blue ones at all.
You can buy the old skins on the Trading Post still. Although they cost quite a few golds, they are still relatively cheap compared to other holiday skins.

My theory (with credit to others who I don’t know to name)…
The Pale Tree is a champion of the Forest Elder Dragon. Ventari found the Pale Tree’s seed in a cave amongst many and raised it, leaving it behind the Ventari Tablets. Just like Glint strayed from Kralkatorrik, the Pale Tree has strayed from the Forest Elder Dragon. Scarlet probably sees that the Pale Tree is just as controlling of the Sylvari as the Forest Elder Dragon is of the Nightmare Court. Serving to serve neither lets Scarlet choose her own path.
