In zergs I use my Engi for group super speed. It does a lot more than give super speed but that’s where Engi scores Best In Class. Super sped hammer trains can really mess people up.
I love my scrapper. Decent solo, dirty in team fights. Honestly though? Mobility is king, particularly the ability to engage or disengage. Recently started roaming on my thief and it’s amazing. Therefore id suggest warrior
I’m looking for a build to roam on when I’m not zerging and I was wondering if the classic dire torment Mesmer or a PVP mauraders amulet build port to WvW is more effective. What do y’all think?

Well Rev’s do buffs as well as ranged damage (with hammer) and setup right are absolute beasts.
I totally forgot about revenant. Post-pirate ship I see them having a rough time though. They don’t have the cantrips or the second health bar of eles and necros to survive the recently revived Pain Train.
Sounds like you need to change up your group’s composition.
If you want range, you are a “backline” role. If you want to support your team, feel like you’re absolutely essential, and are comfortable being vocal on Team Speak then be an Elementalist.
If you are there to chew bubble gum and snatch some weaves, and are all out of bubble gum, then you want to be a necro.

A few disgruntled BG guilds moved to YB while it was T2 to bring it up to T1 and break the BG/JQ/TC cartel. YB was a way better server before those guys showed up. They kinda ruined the community, sadly :/
I blast my HT and Egun 4 on my lightning field for swiftness for traveling. Switching in medkit while you run and using 4 works too.

Might stacking/condi clear with elixir tosses, fields from mortar, 2 blasts, plenty of stab and survivabilty, and bags for days.

Sry but this one sais you are wrong. Drones will be something for the forge only for sure. And if the drones were an “overhaul for entire engi class, not just forge”, why should there be drones on every single forge (or should I say scrapper now) artwork, if it isn’t tied to it? ^^

My guild has my engineer on its pick team and I’ve been getting solid results with S/D’s combined CC and burst. It will be even better once magnet is fixed.
One word: substitution.
Engineers can be replaced by most classes for a greater effect. I’ve played engi for a long time and the only place I currently see a role for the engineer is in the gank-squad as a counter ganker since we can dump on thieves and mesmers. Less so after the patch though :/ we are a bit better in larger scale fights since we provide multiple benefits and aren’t held to 15 slots. In zerging I play a frontline ft engi with slick shoes to great effect. Two water fields and a host of other useful fields and utility.

Engineers shun magic. They refuse matras, signets, and the like. It is well defined in the lore, so those certainly won’t happen.
Ah, but here is where things gets interesting: In the silverwaste camp durring living story season 2, you could overheard taimi talk with a charr engineer to learn about magitech. Considering how ANet seems to add the new class/specs to existing characters, and how they have teased about it in season 2, we will most likely have some form of magic aspect in our elite spec.
Edit: Here is the guy. “a metallurgist famous for using magic” sounds like the new forge spec to me, after all, metallurgy is the science of metals and alloys, most commonly used when forging. There have been no other reasons to introduce this guy, and it seemd like the writers really wanted us to catch this whole magic hint.
His dialogue can be found down on this page. There is also a bit more here but nothing that looks like hinting.
Engineer is the Charr tech. I’m betting Forge will be Asuran tech.

ANet will have to upgrade underwater combat eventually. Otherwise killing the underwater dragon will be a total pain in the kitten .
Both YB and FA love siege. Only one server has come out of the closet about this love though.
Dom/Dueling/Chrono interrupt with extra mantra, slow on interrupt, extra crit on slow, slow on every 3rd crit. Interrupt Mesmer will be even more frustrating, which is what I go for.

Mortar also helps you clear camps even faster. I feel even more useful in team fights too thanks to the field support that the mortar gives.
Stop complaining and adjust. I almost exclusively run an anti-stealth SD engineer build specifically designed to cull the Mesmer population. Put an SD engi in your party the next time you leave your keep
SD Engi has an absurd amount of damage now, plus a bunch of utility it previously lacked thanks to the new mortar kit.
But then I can’t mark up walls in WvW.

I’ll be running Dom/Chaos/Chro for my lockdown build. I’ve been playing a 6/6/0/2/0 build without DE for awhile now and haven’t missed it.
Light armor. It’s the only kind necros can use.

I swapped my perplex runes from my necro to my engineer and it’s sooo much stronger on engineer. I have gotten 3k+ confusion ticks, and by myself can stack up to 22 stacks ^^Therefore I thought I’d share some roaming footage, all the clips were recorded yesterday. (The 23rd) Enjoy :P

how did you stack to 22? I only get 14 when i’m lucky. And i have the runes.
5 from crowbar, 4 from a pistol bounce, 5 from a bomb, 3 from the rune passive proc, and 5 on interrupt means 22 when played perfectly.

I love the burst life and run this:
In group play, I switch out rifle range for modified ammo since condis are more prevalent.
Could become dangerous if one is careless. Fortunately the revealed lasts only 1 second if I read the tooltip correctly.
Looking at Dulphy’s notes, you are right it’s a 1 second reveal. But the trap also pulses for one second intervals so you’ll be revealed as long as you stay in the traps radius of effect. :-)
No problem…they have a trap that sucks you in and slows you down.
Bro, if they have to equip two utilities just to effectively end your stealth, you win at the end of the day.
