Praise the lord, some attention..
You aren’t going to be able to complete every single bit of content and I’m not sure why you feel you should be able to.. simple games are on the rise because people can’t deal with a bit of a challenge..
just because you can’t do it doesn’t mean it’s unfair, others have done it so it obviously isn’t that bad
Train harder you pencil pusher
Why would you do dungeons with SaB around? Woah don’t you know minigames and crafting is WAY more important than ‘hard’ content such as dungeons!!!
Punishments couldn’t be too harsh, if someone leaves before the end due to a drop in their connection then they’d be punished for that instead.. if you had it so it only punished those that pressed the “Leave group” button or its equivalent then people would ALT+F4. Though I do agree those that leave early do need some sort of debuff to persuade them not to..
You can’t merge all the servers!
1 bit of solid dungeon content in over a year is pretty terrible IMO.. but the temporary dungeons were encouraging it’s a shame we couldn’t keep them. Not expecting any beefy content for us dungeon lovers any time soon though..

Make it through dungeons.. definitely not through minigames or crafting. The .. “Hardest”.. content should give the best rewards.. not the most time consuming.
Not at all, no…
Dungeon master is p.much a meaningless title as no dungeon takes over 2hours or any real coordination (Simin being a slight exception)
“sorry I don’t want to invest time but i want ALL the items/content” is such a poor excuse and you don’t deserve everything believe it or not
too easy..

and have a set of skills/weapons/armour you can swap
dyes are a bit lower down on my list of things to fix..
Minigames are going to be the main focus for this game, pack up and go home all
“I run high magic find on my characters but I also balance them for excellent damage potential.”
You can have an even higher damage potential if they don’t swap out a useful stat for a selfish one.. and do even more damage
MF is a stupid reason to quit GW2 if it’s purely that reason then I’m sure you don’t love it as much as you think
MINIGAMES ARE MORE IMPORTANT SIT DOWN AND ENJOY IT!!!
/sarcasm
Pretend one of the servers is a roleplaying server and pretend you are doing the emotes, just like you pretend you are actually the characters
“No amazing dagger skins”
a matter of opinion.. “no sparkly dagger skins” however…
Heavy armour needs to cover a lot of the body I guess.. and actually look heavy
Holla holla get dolla
I think this question has been asked a lot.
The answer was pretty much; “no.”
No, stop that moaning please!
The dungeon is a simple steam roll, if you can’t do it then you need to change your build, team etc.
CoF P1 and elite players don’t really mix, just simple players..
More permanent dungeons
a better end game
an expansion
then all the little things in between
This is in development at the moment mate, just have to wait a while
or at least so we think
The guy asked for a substantial update, not like living story.. I guess like one of the expansions for GW1.
GW1 had an expansion released exactly a year after the release of prophecies.. it’s closing onto a year so I see no problem in him asking for a bigger update
Conflict between a community is hardly desired in any MMO, most of the people want to get a measure of how well their new build works if at all. Of course some people will be elitist about it, but it won’t be everyone.. let the casuals play with the casuals and the people that take dungeons seriously play with others of the same mindset
Would loooove to see your metrics sometime on how you’re measuring success here…

Yeah, but at the moment all they have is 3 easy paths. 4 in the case of Arah.
Yeah and opinions in the oposite direction also in exist in a large quantity too, what’s your point? I think the current standard of dungeons in the game is pretty poor, with the current state of dungeons being auto-attack, use a couple of skills, move on.. this one requires you to think a little bit (/gasp) (only a little bit of jumping and some other minor complex things) “Oh no!” you say, but do not fear, it takes no longer than 10 minutes to figure it out and do it easily.
You aren’t going to have an MMO where your build is fit for every challenge, that would be really stupid and boring.
Also not sure how I proved your point that it’s an awful dungeon? I think you have a bad case of the ‘I can’t play well, I don’t want to change, so I won’t play’
Sure, Webba, thank you for asking.
- Everyone exploits the first cannon battle by hiding in corner so no one learns the mechanic for the final fight
- The bosses and golems are difficult to see in terms of animations with all of the energy walls, auras, particle effects, and small enemy models
- This dungeon heavily favors professions with access to stability (stability means you don’t have to watch for the animation and dodge at the right time, trivializing the content)
- This dungeon heavily favors slow attacking professions (confusion melts a thief or ranger). Ranger auto is so fast it’s unergonomic to take off the autoattack. For example, Crossfire must be spammed the entire dungeon so it’s either hurt your hand or accept a posssible confusion nuke
- This dungeon puts minion/pet reliant professions at a huge disadvantage by killig pets in laser wall and barrage aoe
I don’t think you can honestly compare this to Arah, Molten Facility, or existing Fractals and consider it good design. You should play more of the game to see what good content looks like. Aetherblades is mildly entertaining and fun for a run or two but it doesn’t deserve it’s own Fractal.
I’ve never exploited the first cannon battle, I’m not sure what bit you’re on about.
You can tab through enemies, but they really aren’t that hard to see.
Heavily favors, doesn’t mean it cannot be done without it. My parties build used near to no stability skills and we got through very well.
Confusion can be removed, or you can wait it out and it will take a few seconds longer.
Lastly, most people know minion builds and pet reliant builds aren’t exactly the strongest to be taking through a dungeon.
not my precious cheevos
):
FYI i’m fairly sure more than 1% of the games population use the game, I’m not sure you realize how few people are playing actively.

The dungeon is hardly a challenge (though maybe in comparison to the rest of the easy mode dungeons).. in our second run after figuring out what to do and running with a competent group, we finished in just under 30mins without any wipes. It’s certainly a better dungeon than the last few as it requires you to think a little bit.
Yeah, then they might add some permanent challenging dungeons too!
I’ve done it. Loads of other players have done it. It’s not impossible so you can do it, it takes time is all
Aye, it’s only an endless stream of greens and blues though so do not fear
This is hardly as challenging as you guys are making out. The dungeon was certainly harder than all current dungeons and the bosses took more than a matter of seconds.. but it wasn’t impossible.. I feel that this is yet another too common “learn to play” issue
They took a step in the right direction with AC revamp, FF dungeon (albeit a smaller one as it was temporary) and fractals.. but then went and gave us the ‘dungeon’ at Southsun.. and 1 bit of new permanent dungeon content in about a year is poor imo, the endgame is severely lacking and minigames aren’t going to fill that void.. nor farming for a ledgendary
Also did LordByron leave after he realized he was wrong?
if the game is easy how comes that:
99% pug groups fails with suboptimal professions at shaman 40+
99% non pug groups use at least 2 guardians and 1 warriorAs said show me a 48 (still doable) run without guardians, warriors and thieves….
If you show and tell me that is EASY then we can debate….
If you instead manage to wipe opponents before they are a threat or just avoid the threat itself via abysmal reflect uptime, then skill is not involved.
The game is frustratingly hard and often skill is not enough….
Yet there are ways to just avoid completely skill tests…..but that doesn t mean the game is easy…it means you chosen “the easy mode”
Players doing that could be uberskilled or total beginners but that system simply doesn t test any skill.
You’re pointing out 1 hard situation, that isn’t genuinley difficult either.. no new mechanics just bigger health pools and more damage, the majority of the game is easy.. people shouldn’t have to handicap themselves, the challenging content should be there, the builds wouldn’t be “OP” if the content had any challenge to it in the first place
“The game is frustratingly hard” That is purely a “learn to play” issue..
you are basically saying we should play with rubbish pugs (most of them are pretty good) and a poor build on a class that isn’t so great to get any challenging content out of the game.. it isn’t a matter of builds being OP because you can steamroll pretty much every dungeon with the right build setup and skilled players.. it is a matter of making challenging content in the first place
(edited by SnoodBeAR.5286)
You shouldn’t have to play with a weak setup/not your style of play for the game to be a challenge, we need genuinely challenging content
there is a difference between playing with a “weak” setup and using overpowered builds….
I don t think that pushing “i can t die” buttons is “a style of game”
Until those issues are solved (and pvp is what is preventing that to happen) nothing will be challenging for pve Golden professions while everything will be furtsrating for Others.
Go tell rangers that the game is too easy…….wait few days before doing it so they will be even more happy.
That happens when you balance a pve game basing solely on pvp.
None of the people I run dungeons with use a template build, all built them ourselves. I can safely say we could run every dungeon in reasonable times with little to no wipes. There is a slim chance that they are all OP builds, you need to realize that the game is just easy..
Two of my previous team members/guildys were rangers, and arguably two of our my favorite dungeon runners, they don’t find the game challenging and can contend just as easily..
Pack up and go home people, we aren’t getting any permanent content anytime soon.
As far as I know that upcoming ‘dungeon’ is going to be temporary, lets just hope it isn’t a one-room-one-boss piece of trash, eh?
The devs just love micro-content and mini-game style play, GW2 is the MMO party game..

Favorite: The Ruined City of Arah
The only dungeon that requires a lot teamwork and isn’t purely easy mode, where a lot of people going for DM will probably fail.. due to how challenging it is in comparison to the other dungeons. Fractals a close 2nd due to its difficulty, but overall a repetitive and grindy experience.
Worst: CoF, so simple a child could do it.. used to farm it a while back but realized what a kittened idea it was and how boring it got. The dungeon could be done by a small child (yeah probably the majority of the player base but whatever) and poses absolutely no challenge. Didn’t P3 even get a nerf?
Because multiple dungeons with different paths, wvw, spvp, guild missions and dynamic events aren’t enough to play with your friends?
I guess some people need their hands held by others for every little thing.
MMOs are meant to be played with friends, hence massively multiplayer
I guess some people have no friends
I feel this is a small boat in a large sea of issues that need to be addressed..
Yeah, the best obtainable armor and weapons are exotic.. for now. You can get ascended accessories through fractals or guild missions, these are better than exotics.. but like I said you cannot get ascended armor or weapons.
A joke right? The MF dungeon fight was miles better..
Oh that ‘dungeon’ was kitten -poor.. one room, one boss, one fight.. Anet had progressed with MF by a few steps, but that dungeon sent them 50 steps back
what
that one boss room was the new dungeon?
oh god…. going backwards Anet
When people say they want some features from Guild Wars 1, I don’t think dancing and music was on their mind..

No dungeon should take you 3 hours if you have an idea of what to do, and a half decent build..
The longest one I’ve been in was 2 hours, that was Arah path four (notoriously long) with everyone in the group trying it for the first time
Also agree with Sovta, hard mode would be a game saver for me.. as well as interesting mechanisms, the devs are capable.. as they’ve demonstrated with molten facility
