This isn’t the proper question though. The real question is it going to run BEFORE HoT or are we going to be forced to ignore new expansion content to participate in the event?
I do not see any bear heads on the torch.
Let’s see:
- 3 hound heads + Snake head on the hilt = Cerberus from Greek mythology.
“Cerberus, in Greek and Roman mythology, is a multi-headed (usually three-headed) dog, or “hellhound” with a serpent’s tail, a mane of snakes, and a lion’s claws. He guards the entrance of the Greek underworld to prevent the dead from escaping and the living from entering."
Yep. It’s Cerberus.
It’s not 3 hounds.
It’s a snake handle, a bear, a wolf, and a lion.
The torch already exists in game and it’s pretty clear what they are.

There’s no sub, 50$ is fair for a AAA expansion with as much as HoT is giving us. If you want a better deal, buy the Ultimate edition for 50$ more that comes with some free stuff, a character slot, and… 50$ worth of gems.
If getting those things cost more money, they are no longer “free”.
Just sayin’.
Like to make a note:
Living Story is not free content. It was only temporarily free. Anyone who missed it or the few hundred thousand people that purchased the game during the two most recent sales and stuck purchasing this content.
Who on earth asked for a new race at release?! I know some people can be impatience but that takes the cake.
It’s almost like Tengu was already in the works as a playable race prior to release and people were expecting to get it. Madness, I know.
to be honest, I understand their opinion… it wouldn’t be worth it to add new race because it would be too much work for too little reward… all the armors, main city, starting zone, personal story… and in the end it wouldn’t add as much gameplay compared to all the effort…
Yeah, you should never do something to please your consumers. It’s not like it matters if they’ve been asking for it since release or anything, they should just be happy to get more outfits to spend real money on.
I assumed OP meant more skills to choose from because we are obviously not increasing the number of skills on our skill bar. A net as always been about quality over quantity. They rather have players have access to a limited number of skills and create builds that focus on forming synergy between your skills instead of throwing every skill you have on your bars. That’s what a net as always been about and always will.
I had to read it twice as well, but there was a specific line in it that make it sound like he was asking if there was more slots.
“Are there any plans of increasing the number of skills you can have access to at once? i would love to have more utility slots and skills, preferably situational ones and not just ones you use every time its available (and defenitly not passives).”
Hopefully they’ll be a little faster to make it less of a chore.
Specializations will give you a cess to new skills. It might be a give take situation though like in order to have the specialization utilities you have to give up some base class skills but I don’t think that’s been confirmed yet.
Don’t think that’s what they meant. They’re asking if we’ll get to have more than healing, Elite, and three utilities at any given moment.

That feel when Shiro’s Elite is Jade Wind and AoE stuns.
Not unless you play Revenant.
this thread is a mess. i dont know what i expected
I’m guessing you weren’t expecting logical reasoning, but a hugbox instead.
Finally, a map that actually looks fun and gives more incentive to divide and conquer instead of blobVblob.
Dude whatever. They showed it in the Reveal trailer. Its going to be a melee staff. That wasnt concept art either. It was actual gameplay. Staffs and Spears and Tridents have similar models. But developers have told us already that we not getting sea weapons on land. So its a staff. No other weapon looks like that on land.
I’ll take creative liberties for 100, Alex.
Just because it’s in the trailer doesn’t mean it’s in game or available to players (Rytlock’s pistol is proof of that).rytlock using a pistol has nothing to do with a class reveal for an expansion. He used a Staff in the class reveal trailer. Thats much different from just any other lore NPC in a trailer.
There was also spears, which is what got people excited in the first place, and again — they were creative liberties. Next you’ll be falsely telling people that they get to turn into mist and one shot four enemies like Rytlock did in the trailer too.

I’d like to point out there mention of a lack of water in HoT areas… Seeing that I think it would be a mistake to at it in this expansion
You mean… besides the huge lake that is bigger than Divinity’s Reach?
With the Defiance change incoming, what specifically do you think they could add it too to liven up some pre-existing encounters throughout the game? There was one I imagined could happen after seeing the Wyvern fighting during the press event videos that included Claw of Jormag and the idea of everyone being able to come together and grounding him during the first phase before he takes off again. It could be interesting.
What did you guys have in mind?
Who? And since there is a message length restriction, I ask again, who?
Anybody see Rev's Skills Tab in Demo?

There are videos of it from the press event.
By now the OP is hopping mad at the thread’s derailment. The pun-ishment for puns is to be tarred (black) and feathered. People who pig out on making puns should have their wings clipped.
Yes, I am so insanely infuriated I’m currently considering whether or not I should kermit harakiri.
healthy downgrade to power ranger
Don’t even try it
Sentai is superior anyways. DEAL WITH IT
We’ve heard the name ages ago, and learned a small bit more through the revealing of the new mastery information, but now we finally got a face to the lil’ buggers. Gotta say, I was expecting another Hylek recolor but found myself surprised that there is distinct differences in facial features between them. Can’t wait to learn more about em.
Figured I’d share a screenshot of one.
Adventurer: Hey, which way to the outhouse?
Citizen: We don’t have outhouses. We have water closets.
Adventurer: Like latrines?
Citizen: Nope. They all flow into the same sewer system, and that all goes out to sea.
Adventurer: That’s more than I really needed to know.
Citizen: Hey, you asked. Just don’t ask me if anything lives down there.
Adventurer: You’ve got a deal.
-The best
Can they? Yes. Will they? Probably not.
Yeah, I became a little wary at that answer too. I was expecting it to fill up the entirety of that area of the map, but I’m not feeling as hopeful now.
If they cost more when they ‘eventually’ return, I’d be forced to agree with OP that this is just a money grab. But I suppose time will tell.
A mastery point is a mastery point. You don’t advance specific lines, you just earn points and then spend them on whatever you want. Dulfy’s write up has the number of points needed for each line.
Actually, you can do it two ways. Earn points and then spend them, or similar to how the PVP tracks work you can specifically chose a line to level.
You… you’re aware they drop from specific enemies, right?
When the people who were at the event say not to get overly hyped, I think it’s best to trust their judgement.
The only new content being released tomorrow are what the people recorded during the events ANET held and we’ve already got confirmation from both WP and MattVisual not to get overly hyped for it because it’s not going to be a large amount of new information. It’ll likely just be further in depth coverage on what we’ve already been shown and very little more.
If I recall, Matt mentioned that they were tight lipped on anything involving specializations during interviews.
Dinosaur pets or bust.
The whole thing around the Revenenant remembers me basically being inspired/stolen from the Anime Fate Stay Night/ Fate Zero, where summoned manifestations of legendary heroes battle against each other.
As mentioned, FSN certainly isn’t the first to come up with the idea and has been used in many areas of media. Other examples of it being used could be Kamen Rider Decade, who uses the powers of previous Kamen Riders or even Ryuko Orsono from the 2000 run of Teen Titans whose weapons were imbued with the spirits of his ancestry and would guide him. Hell, you could even argue Korra/Aang from Avatar or even Samuel Vimes from Discworld, as well. There are many instances of it.
I think it would be more likely for us to get back piece dyes before we get weapon dyes since, as people have pointed out, some weapons are already recolors of the same weapon. This especially goes for ascended weapons.
Why can’t I be both. I plan to make a Revenant, insta-level to 80 with my tomes, and jump into the jungle to learn the jungle and the Revenant at the same time. That’ makes me both type of people by your definition.
and then you won’t play either because your wrist will go on a strike after opening and confirming 79 level up notifications (including destroying all the unsellable soulbound gear they throw your way)
I’ve opened over 750 gold Pavilion chests, 250 silver Pavilion chests, 10,000+ champ bags, and salvaged everything that came out of ‘em and went right back into chasing Kuraii in the Pavilion. 79 levels of item is nothin’!
it’s not a carpal tunnel because your bone structure is just an empty hollow by now

Sounds about right, but it was worth it! Thirty days to go from 10g to making a legendary was well worth how long it actually took to open them all. lol
Was also quite an enlightening learning experience on how low of a chance you got to get exotics from those darn bags. I only found 69 out of all of ’em.
Now they’re going to do it just to spite you.

The name isn’t original, I’ve seen it on forums as far back as a decade.

Ele Rifle. Not so much speculation as much as I want it. Magic rifle with the Fire/Water/Air/Earth attunement sounds fun. Enjoy this buckshot of magical rocks!
It’s funny how everyone knows who this thread is about just by reading the title.
I thought it was about Logan. I’m greatly disappointed.
There was already an article where they confirmed that Rev would be as mobile as an out-of-combat Thief while they themselves are IN combat.
that same article, in the same sentence, also said they aren’t exactly the fastest guys out of combat. the livestream was a good display of it, with his mobility skills requiring targets, or teleporting them to the target, hitting, and then teleporting back to where they started.
And OP said that his weakness would include not being able to handle kiters. Which I provided a quote to prove otherwise. If anything, it sounds like engaging with a Revenant and getting out of said fight is going to be fairly difficult.

I think a queue to move between maps that are full should be on the list of things to fix. Spamming to get into the same map as a friend is rage inducing.

Ah well, I figure Logan takes more after Keiran Thakery than Gwen. A guy so lazy he sends out any random adventerer he meets to do all the work of setting up his date with Gwen. Then takes all the credit himself!
;)Any chance hes related to Kormir?
Trahearne is their kid then!
Trahearne actually came with you and helped, he’s nothing like ’em.
There, POI showed us. It’s not anything like Glyphs. Mallyx and Jalis has different utility skills. Can we please stop mentioning Glyphs now?
If it does work like that though then Revenants would have no real build options at all beyond weapon and legend. Your bar would literally just be weapon on the left and legend on the right. It defeats the entire point of having slotted skills.
I think maybe you’ve misinterpreted what they and others here have said.
It’s possible each legend’s utility skills are pre-determined and there’s no choice. Though there are little change-skill up arrows above the utility skills on the revenant ui. That suggests there could be a pool of utility skills for each legend and you have some choice. Or it might just mean you only have 3 and can only choose where they go on the hotbar.
I’m pretty sure at current the arrows are there so you can move the skills to where you prefer them. Like if you wanted your 7 utility to be at 9 instead. This seems like the smartest conclusion considering they said they were still deciding whether or not Legends will have a pool of skills to choose from.
Maybe it’s possible that each legend will have access to certain utilities, but not all; the utilities do work like glyphs, or you can save the utilities you want to each legend and swap the load out when you switch legends, or all of the above.
Now I’m more curious!
Each Legend is going to have its own unique skills tailored to that Legend. I’m not quite sure why people are so adamant on believing they’ll work like Glyphs…
Because no one knows… We all just guessing off of limited information. If you have any information that they don’t, please share.
We do know, people just aren’t giving it enough thought to put 2 and 2 together.
“Each time you swap between these legendary figures, your entire skillsets will change, as will your UI, and the spirits your harnessing themselves will talk to you like you’re actually possessing them.
Each Legend will bring a different playstyle to the Rev: with Jalis being a more tanky sort of build and Mallyx acting as more of a condition damage and condition spreading build. Each Legend will have its own theme this way, but Jon and Roy both noted that this doesn’t mean you’ll have dozens of Legends to choose from. Rather they want them to feel distinctive, so I’d be willing to bet on a handful more than a bushel being added."
-* The swapping of the Legends is where the actual strategy of weapon swapping will come into play. Think of it like playing an Engineer or an Elementalist. With those classes you swap kits or elements.*

Current exotics turn into precursors?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: SnubdubLuskon.1795
This means that a big chunk of the gold it takes a legendary will be removed and the prices will be affected because of this.
I’m sure the items for the collection that provides precursor will likely fill in that huge gap of gold that is removed from your standard precursor obtaining.
Revenants will probably start at level seventy; Due to the storyline that is applicable to them being after zaitan’s death . So they will make it close to max rank, maybe make it at level sixty if they wanted to push the idea of the lore . This game is heavy on its story as well as its pvp; I cant see them bringing this is for the sole purpose of the expansion and then turn and make it start from one and work all the way up . Then you have to go through all the bullkitten which has ALREADY happened in the story with a class that was not there during that time frame. So to make the story interesting much like tera did their reaper; They might have a starting instanced mission (( much like when you make a new character)) only for the Revenant and they all start out in that mission despite their race. This mission could be them coming out of the mists with rytlock , and coming into the open world. Perhaps make it so if you really wanted , that your warrior could change and become a revenant (( Rytlock did it .))
We’ve already seen a level 1 Revenant during POI.
