They should have a PTR, that way issues they would never find on their internal environment would get reported.
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
This seemed to work on Windows 8.1 (latest updates): disabling “Automatically detect settings” in the Network > Proxy control panel.
Not sure if this was just coincidence, or something else was fixed. Perhaps the new launcher is more sensitive to network issues / crappy proxy detection? I had previously tried basically everything everybody else had in this thread (repair, run as admin, disable firewall/av, uninstall/attempt to reinstall).
It’s a simple setting to test out, so it might be worth a shot.
YMMV.
You’re a boss, Dirril. Any minimal QA from Anet’s side would have caught this, or if they had PTR.
Worked on Win 8 Pro x64.

This could be a problem with CoherentUI.
I moved gw2.exe, gw2.dat, gw2.tmp from Temp into a folder in My Documents. I made lib/CoherentUI_Host.exe read only and now I get the launcher but the login button is blanked out.
I also see this in Resourcemon under the Disk Tab:
Image PID File Read (B/sec) Write (B/sec) Total (B/sec) I/O Priority Response Time (ms)
System 4 C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue\AppCrash_CoherentUI_Host._1efc1b3d816256be3401f99fd4e4bb226bdc9cd_cab_0eb8b3e7 0 74 74 Background 0
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
It’s interesting to note that when you run the setup file, it runs a gw2.exe file in Users > YOUR_USERNAME > AppData > Local > Temp.
While it’s sitting your taskbar unable to maximize or do anything, the gw2.dat file is constantly growing in size in the Temp folder.
I’m going to let it run for a while and see what happens. It’s already at 2gb and in Resource Monitor I can see it downloading stuff from a CDN.
Well it finished, flashed in the taskbar but was still unable to maximized. I right click “closed” the application and ran it again and it still just sits there in the taskbar and running in the background.

After the launcher patch, the launcher looked different and I couldn’t click anywhere. Tried a repair, but it became unresponsive at about 30%.
Reinstalling becomes unresponsive at the “Install Guild Wars 2” launcher, but nothing is clickable (including minimize and X)

Nevermind, I don’t have this exact error, just stalling on the launcher.

I don’t know where you got the assumption that the population of a server is directly proportional to the skill level of the players considering [RIOT] tries to recruit players who beat them from lower tier servers. Even offering to pay for their transfer.
lol.
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
Its kinda lame how in the introduction to the video Joe gives props/respect to RIOT and then they come in to the thread and start flaming him…
I’m not flaming Joe myself. I think they are fine players, but if his intent was to give true props then he would have posted all of our skirmishes and not the only one they won.
I get it though, you don’t post videos of your team losing, but this is the only engagement we lost against them so far and he posted a video of it.
About the pull off the cliff video, I just wanted to see it because it was funny
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
Where are the other vids of us beating you earlier that day?
I would really like to see the one where you mass invis’d and I pulled you and your warrior off the edge.

Instead of using the menu to exit the game, I normally just alt+F4 it. Since the most recent patch it quickly shows the crash dialog and then that disappears.
Using Windowed Fullscreen mode.

I made this to clearly explain issues with not being able to replace illusions:
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
If you have 3 clones out and you dodge, nothing will happen.
And that’s a big nerf for every build.
- Currently against some professions you are going to dodge backwards to create a clone between you and your opponent, so that the clone can soak the damage. Not that you can do the whole dodging back, against certain profession you have to use this, otherwise you’ll just die. Now that will no longer be possible.
- Another example is the terrain unevenness. F.e. I get attacked outside of the clocktower, dodge, then go into the clocktower, and now can not use one of my clones, because he is outside (or stuck on a different position). Now even if I dodge multiple times inside the clocktower, my first shatter will only contain a very very low number of useful clones. It could be possible, that the whole shatter is wastes, because the clones are stuck somewhere.
This is one of the most important posts here. If you are caught outside of trying to get to a point and are being attacked, you’ll create a clone outside of a target area you want to shatter if you decide to switch to a different target that is already on point.
That, coupled with backwards dodge rolling to let a clone eat the blinding power blind or headset or any number of skills that can be blocked will be a huge issue for mesmers.
Suggestions:
If you want to nerf clone death spam, then nerf that trait itself (Debilitating Dissipation) or make it so the 3rd clone still replaces the last clone but doesn’t make it explode if there are already 3 up.

Both monitors are 60hz
1) Samsung BX2350 (default, play gw2 on)
2) Samsung SA300
I have no clue if my monitor is overclockable…do you mean higher than 60hz? Windows shows both are set to true color 32bit – 60hz
My card is sitting at 3.0x in game: http://imgur.com/a/OOncy#4
Haven’t tried older drivers. I’m running the latest for the BF4 support. What’s the best way to downgrade?
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
Tried some other stuff for fun last night with no real success
1) I ran SFC /scannnow and found corruption it couldn’t fix. Then I ran dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and it fixed it. Lag seemed fine for a bit then came back. It’s always in combat I have issues
2) A major thing is, I recorded some stuff with Dxtory and it doesn’t show the lag I am seeing on screen. The videos seem fluid and fine. Dxtory captures the direct x output to file, so does this mean this is some kind of latency between my video card and monitor?
Anything I can troubleshoot there?
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
What’s your experience with keyboard/mouse input lag?
I swear my typing seems a bit sluggish when the game is running and typing this to you on my other monitor.

Hey Sobe,
Thanks for checking out my post.
Check the winMTR I attached: https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/116827/winmtr.txt
I’ll get some Ping Plotter reports up in a bit.
I don’t have vmware at the moment, would their free version suffice for this test?
Are there any other OS power settings I could have missed?
Perhaps something with my overclock like LLC or C1e etc we could review?
Why does windows report a different clock speed here (4.34 Ghz) http://imgur.com/a/OOncy#9 ?
Thanks,

1. For sure. Not in my case though, my computer is the only device on the network that is powered on. Transmission speeds are fine for me (ping could be another issue): http://www.speedtest.net/result/3081574776.png
2. This is very well possible. I get some lag spikes but no packet loss if you check my attached winMTR log. But the lag I get doesn’t match up with those spikes. Mine is always during combat.
3. Very possible too, wish I had some substantial proof that it was this so I stop messing with my pc settings/router etc…
I also pretty much never get disconnected unless my actual full internet connection drops.
Thank you for the info though

Hello,
I’ll get right to the point so hopefully someone can suggest something. Here are my problems:
1) People skip around on my screen a bit almost like they are speed hacking. Happens while spectating people in spvp even.
2) Worse during combat, things become laggy and sluggish. FPS stays the same
3) Game feels slow and almost like I have to “push on my keyboard harder”. Very difficult to explain, but similar complaints to people that are running their video card on PCI-E 1.0.
4) On a mesmer, it seems I always have to wait extra time to use blink or it will just place me 1-2 feet ahead
5) Constantly resetting skills because the other one didn’t finish casting.
5) Started after the seasons/league patch
Computer Specs

Things I’ve Tried
1) Ran at stock speeds
2) Disabled TDR (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff569918(v=vs.85).aspx)
3) Set HPET on and bcdedit /set useplatformclock true. CURRENT: HPET off and no useplatformclock.)
4) Disabled HID devices minus my mouse.
5) vsync on/off (CURRENT: on). I noticed with it off I would get 150+ FPS but my GPU would run at 99%. Runs around 25-30% at 60 FPS
6) Updated my video card drivers, network card drivers (and NVM Update Utility)
7) Played with all TCP unload off and on. CURRENT: on
8) Running on /clientport 80

2v2/3v3/5v5 death match. Focus on my favorite part of this game, the fluid combat!
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
Team wasn’t invited. I would be interested if ANY roaming guilds (never more than 5-6 people) get invited.
If not I give up all hope for this new map. It will just be blobby like the wvw maps if they only invite the blobby guilds who run their stacking 15-20+ zergs and feel pro all running right next to some leader spamming aoe and auto attacks.
I hope some roamers get let into the beta so that they can direct the direction of the map away from guilds like this who just blob and make wvw a skilless and no-fun environment.
RIOT is a roaming guild.
Well I hope they will try and drive this map away from the “same old kitten” that anet seems to love. Aka. No 25 man guild blobs all clustered up and moving around the map in seconds to just blob everything they can.
This shouldnt be viable. They need to add skill to the combat by making roaming more viable. Which means bigger maps and more spread out objectives.
We have the exact same mindset. We will be representing roaming guilds out there to the best of our ability. We’ve always been about fights over anything else.
I do hope you guys get in, you sound fun to fight.
I think deterring blobbing is a hard problem to fix though. Without core changes to Wxp (splitting it based on how many people are around when someone dies), Upping the AOE cap, it will all be terrain based. From the screen shots, there does appear to be a lot of choke points, LOL Skyhammer style floating islands and bridges etc…so we will just have to see how that plays into the skirmishes. The blobs run with a ton of stability so it would be a huge pain to capitalize on getting a large portion of people off a cliff. Portal play looks be a lot of fun in here, especially on the snow map which has a lot more vertical structures.
We will need to see the actual size of these maps too to see how they favor smaller groups.

Yeah we are normally out with a 5 man. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Depends on who’s online. I do hope large guilds will split up their groups so we can get in some fun skirmishes on this cool terrain. I think we have 13 people submitting for the beta.
If it’s possible, we will try to split onto separate maps, if not we will just roam with 2 groups in the same map separately unless we get blobbed on.
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
Correct, there is no NDA, says it right in here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-edge-of-the-mists-a-new-map-is-coming-to-wvw/
“None of this testing will be under NDA, as we want as many people as possible and we need your input.”
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
1) Add back in 1 point per stomp per BL buff
2) Remove the stats, or leave them. Whatever…
3) Add rewards for capping the points. You can add diminishing returns as well so people can’t just point swap to farm silver/wXP but at least it would bring others to the points to fight.
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
Requires good coordination and a focus on acquiring said buffs
Want to know how oPP caps bloodlust?
We go and stand on one of them
somebody suggest we cap bloodlust
“Yeah… ok we can do that”
“I’ll go SW while you cap”
“I’ll go SE”Then we stand there till it caps. That’s about as much coordination required. You do however need people not zerging, so I guess its tough for some groups of people.
Hey, this is how we do it too!

Hello everyone My name is Wilson… I play a warrior in the small man squads of Jade Quarry’s Strike Force. I have been making videos for only about a month now. With the great fights OPP has been providing this week I really wanted to post this video here for all to enjoy. I only have a free version of Bandicam, so I miss a ton of stuff but here are some highlights anyway.
Dude give [Opp] a break, clearly their guild name was meant to be ironic. Like people who give their fat friend the nickname “tiny” I hear their guild leader’s nickname is
Sir Robbin The Brave. Here’s Opp’s latest fight against the ambient creatures of JQBL
I heard oPP are xferring to JQ soon anyway :/
Only for the right price. If you ask how much it will cost, then you can’t afford us.
What is a Z-j exactly?

When I do catch your streams the clowning of other servers is amateur and I hear words like “noob”, Step it up. Also if I wanted to hang out with 10 dudes on a Friday night I’d go to a bar not teamspeak. At least at the bar girls are around and you can see if they hawt.
I prefer to spend my Fridays watching you drink beer at your computer and stand for hours inside or around SM.
this new tactic of having one player infront with a dif tag and the others lurking <3. I will forever be in solo que well until Tuesday when bf4 comes out and I drop gw2

I know the title of the thread is supposed to sarcastic, but it’s actually true. I play on JQ and have fought these guys many times and they’re top notch. Sure, they’ll gang up on stragglers (who doesn’t?), but they’ll also fight you with even numbers and even outnumbered unlike alot of their server mates.
That’s awfully nice of you to say. Truth be told most of the time our goals consist of finding good, fun, and challenging matches. Often that means we’ll leave 1v1 fights alone, try to have even matches, etc; but many of us also live by “if it’s red, it’s dead” so it really all just depends on the mood you catch us in and whether or not the allure of WXP takes over our logic.
If you see us out there you can always PM for a duel or a 2v2/3v3/5v5. We had some recent fights with EXS that were a ton of fun.
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
lol. This was just a fight that kept going from spawn to spawn for about an hour.
This was two separate groups of 5 that ended up being where the fights were while JQ took our bloodlust.
It was fun!

So is JQ and TC’s strategy tonight to ignore Blood Lust caps? This is seriously boring. I want SoR back. At least they put up a fight.

I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a game change. This is going to create real skirmishing instead of running from zergballs. Finally we actually get to fight each other. Not too sure about the canons, but at least they are accessible
Thanks Anet for listening to the smaller groups who enjoy actually fighting other players.

If riot is a “5man guild looking for out manned fights” and considered a legit 5man this is pretty laughable. RIOT and Icoa are quite similar in tactics and skill. I wish RIOT actually faught people 5v5+ but they are part of the karma train and run from my 3 man often.
A+ would read again.

http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
I pray and grief for the bouncing issue which will likely meet a similar fate and simply be ignored for feigned ignorance and shrugged off it ever asked about. Impression of Anet’s response on Izerker issue so far:
“Sorry if we change/modify skills (Izerker. And now bouncing) without any documentation (unintended changes/stealth nerfs). Unless we have a readily available response (intended changes/simple bugs/cheap to fix) or it is possibly exploitable to the benefit of players, we will be “too busy” and will mostly remain silent to allow the excuse of ignorance.
If we are pressured enough to give a response (publicly embarrassed in SotG), we will then proceed to describe our one-sided views ignoring player evidence/questions and conclude that nothing is wrong."
Spot on.
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
Lol’d at 1st vid. Prime example of what JP is saying above. Go roll a warrior and figure out how Whirlwind Attack works. Its the same exact thing. At 0:45 you say it hits twice when it hits 3 times. Watch it again. It only applies bleed on CRIT. Read your traits.
On the 2nd vid you’re mostly seeing 2 or 3 hits depending on distance to target. That’s completely NORMAL!!!!!! Don’t freak out that your damage was fixed and call it a bug.
However, 1:03 in on the second vid, that looks like an immobilization bug with the attack. It appears that the berserker is getting stuck somewhere and instead of finishing out the remaining attacks on the spot, they fizzle. That might be something to look at.
Look, guys, I just tested this in the mists. It isn’t bugged. What you all are complaining about is the fact that the zerker doesn’t wtfpwn people anymore. Sorry, but it was doing obscene amounts of damage before they fixed the projectile bug. Yes the izerker’s damage is nowhere near what it used to be. That’s called balance.
I’m sorry but most of the mesmers on the forums continue to prove that they need to learn how the game works. Of course I can’t blame them since the class hardly had to play by the rules for the longest time.
The only thing you are right about is that bleeds only happen on crits.
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
It took me a while, but here is a better explanation with an image.
The illusionary berserker uses an animation similar to warrior greatsword #3 where they spin and move while creating attacks. The attacks are circles (shown as pentagons in my image) that are created at frames in the animation. In this image I highlight the position of all 4 attacks. What this means is that based on the relative position of a iZerker to their target, and based on the targets motion it can hit between 0 and 4 times. The damage number listed in the skill fact is based on all 4 hits connecting as shown by the 4x next to the damage #. With a static target this is possible but extraordinarily unlikely. The movement is meant to help this attack hit moving targets, which is its primary purpose as a skill which reduces movement speed.
In this particular series of screenshots, 3 of the strikes (#2, #3, and #4 ) overlapped the target golem, but as is known in the bug only 1 damage floater was displayed. I am able to examine the golem health before and after and it takes 3 strikes worth of damage but again the visual damage floater is not appearing. We do not know why this floater is sometimes not appearing but because it is a visual bug only we have prioritized other fixes over it while we try to figure out the root cause of this issue. In the meantime, I hope this image shows more clearly how this attack works and what the real bug here is.
Here is the image: http://imgur.com/idkTMrl
Note: the 3rd attack is visually present in two of the images because of the timing of my screenshot.
This is not at all what we are experiencing. I don’t think anyone has noticed missing floating numbers, although that bug could be there as well. Our problem is
1) Reduced damage
2) Random low hits
These images detail that the low hits we are seeing are the same floating numbers we are seeing: http://imgur.com/a/odAXK

Might be better posted in the Bugs forum though… I’m not convinced Anet monitors this forum.
I made another thread, hopefully it helps them in some way.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/MESMER-Broken-pZerker-Proof-of-Concept-VIDEO
http://twitch.tv/TeamRiotTv
Here is a video demonstrating selected low hits in Orr. These appear to happen randomly, although I’m sure there is some underlying cause in the code that makes these extremely low hits happen.
Although the tone of the video is funny, it truly does affect all GS Mesmer game play and personally annoys me on a daily basis.
You should be able to reproduce these numbers easily in about 2 minutes. Just let the berserker hit a mob, at least one of them should be one of these lower than normal hits.
If you look at the mob’s health, it appears the hits match the damage they are doing so it’s not like the numbers just aren’t appearing.
I hope this helps in troubleshooting the underlying cause.
