Anyway, I’m withholding judgment until we see other races, genders, and armor classes. Conceptually I find the idea of appearance changing in and out of combat intriguing, but with how customizable armor is most of the time I think we’ll still see most people preferring their own looks.
Guardian staff is basically a shotgun. Short range but wide area of effect, hits 5 enemies, just spam 1.
ANet has mentioned that they have the ability to modify recipes, etc, as late as the morning of the patch, so if there appears to be insider trading with a specific item they can change what the recipes require.
On the other hand, if this is someone just speculating, I don’t know if ANet has the tools to see that it’s that and NOT someone with inside knowledge, but it seems to me that with this revelation it will make speculation an even riskier business than usual.
It took a bit over a day for the new cats to appear in my instance. In DR, they appear in the NW corner.
Sounds more tedious than fun, and it doesn’t seem to add anything substantial.
Twisted mender, easily. Cool lighting effect, quiet buzzing chopper sound effect, and when you first appear in a zone (or if it otherwise gets re-summoned) and stand still, it occasionally spins around and rebuilds itself.
Same thing happens with emotes. With emotes, if you have first person enabled, you can zoom all the way into first person, and then zoom out — should pop back your wings (maybe stowed weapons too? Don’t have an instrument so can’t test that). This will only work for you though.
I’d be totally cool with that. But in the meantime, don’t hesitate to ask! Most folks are willing to share their looks.
not reading all the posts, but I can tell by the fact this hit page 3 y’all got trolled hard.

Do you also have HOT? If so, I’d suggest engy. Kits give a wide range of skills, good in all modes, scrapper in particular is very defensive, can run grenades for range. Up to you to decide if the skills look cool, but mechanically it’s what you’re looking for. Just be prepared to input three times as many keys as everyone else.
…the first Guild Wars was released. I started playing it later that year, and instantly fell for everything it had to offer. The world, the classes, the builds, and the community. This represented the first MMO (if we choose to call it that) that I actually enjoyed and would serve as a gateway for many hours spent in Tyria between it and its sequel.
So with that said, Happy Anniversary ANet, and thanks for giving us the pleasure of enjoying your world for the past 11 years.

Bummer. Bought these a week ago, woulda waited had I known. Ah well
Are they going to make a glider for every other legendary? Seems like a lot of work, but doesn’t seem fair otherwise
While I understand the purpose of this thought experiment, there are far too many unknowns for us to answer this. What are these 5 teams? What are their short-term projects and long-term objectives? Are there any immediate deadlines? How many people are needed, under normal circumstances, to reasonably perform each task? There’s a lot of things that are going on that we aren’t necessarily aware of, so this just becomes speculation and educated guesses, and then personal preference/priority from there…
Six months in and none of the systems they designed to speed delivery of new content have resulted in new game content.
Logged in specifically to +1 this. If new systems are developed and implemented to streamline content creation, but then not utilized to actually create content, what’s the point? HoT was sold as a prelude to the many new ways content would be developed in the future, with claims that it wasn’t selling content but systems (I’m paraphrasing here, I can’t be bothered to find the quote) because it was building the foundation for grander things in the future. I don’t think it’s too much to wonder, 6 months later, what these new things might be.
What is this test trying to prove? That using hybrid stats with a hybrid weapon kills faster than using zerk stats with a hybrid weapon? Seems logical.
Completed VB, no reward. Has 100% map completion in Central Tyria. Haven’t attemped other zones yet, but am assuming it’ll be the same problem. Please fix — this will affect my mesmer, thief, and engy as well, effectively locking out the Elite spec collections
I’m fairly confident that boons will still apply their effects to necromancers even if this trait is not equipped.
…
The thing I loved about BB up until this change was that it solved a fundamental design flaw with necromancer, which was that it’s a snowball profession: up until you have sufficient life force, you’re basically as harmful as a snowball, and you melt just as easily. Once you’ve built up a sufficient amount, you become an avalanche, and very hard to stop. This is really bad design, as it frustrates both the player, who feels impotent at the start of a fight and needs to hang around the edges being useless, hoping you don’t get jumped because you have no damage mitigation and no escapes, and for the necromancer’s opponents, who blow all their cooldowns to get the necro low only to watch them pop into a full shroud, and they have to do all that damage over again.BB solved this problem by allowing you to build up life force quickly at the start of a fight, but with yesterday’s change it’s become significantly worse at LF generation, although it’ll still provide decent healing for you while you’re actually IN shroud. This makes it a “win more” trait: if you’ve already got enough LF, equipping this makes you even harder to kill. If you don’t have enough LF, equipping this now does pretty much nothing! Sure you might get a few sigil procs and Strength rune procs off it as well, but Reaper’s Might is still the only consistent boon self-application necros have and it’s gated behind Shroud – meaning BB is a practically a blank trait slot until you’ve built up life force through other means!
…
I signed in specifically to agree with this. Since so many of Necro’s boons are generated by going into or staying in shroud — and conversely, so few are generated out of shroud — the Life Force gain portion of Blighter’s has been almost completely gutted by this change. The health gain doesn’t make up for it. Are there any intentions to change that half of the trait…?
Presumably they’re going to be throwing up new items when HoT comes out. This of course presumes there’s some technical limit to how many items can be listed on the store or a desire to keep the store from getting too bloated, but that’s nevertheless my guess.
Honestly, I think there’s a fundamental issue with how slow the GS will be. If the damage is below dagger, you will rarely see it in PvP (and the focus on chill makes me think they were hoping reaper would be good at this…ignoring all the other problems with Chill and melee-reaper in an environment where enemies will, y’know, move), but if it’s higher than dagger, you will never see dagger in PvE…except maybe for building life force. We’ll get a better idea with the final numbers. Either way, one weapon will be blown out of the water.
I’d disagree that GS shouldn’t have higher DPS. Because of it’s longer cast times, it certainly should have higher DPS, because a single miss/block/dodge will cost you to miss out on more damage than that missed attack on a dagger.
I’ve wanted that since Day 1 when they said, waaaaaay back when, that any armor NPCs were wearing, we could get. Hmm…
source?
As stated, I doubt this is something I’ll be able to find. It was before release, I can certainly tell you that.

Looks to me you’re missing fields of ruin. Middle of the map on the far right. You can even see where it says “30-40”, south of Blazeridge.
Ditto on anything involving knocking people off a cliff. Got two people with engineer’s downed skill number 3 the other day.

Had a similar issue a month or so ago, and cleaning my heatsink fixed the problem fine. Not sure why this game makes my rig overheat so much more compared to other, theoretically more taxing software, but there you have it.
Ditto. I reported this in game under the most relevant thing I could find, (item behavior??), but that’s still not really relevant.
Conversely, Mordy could have ignored it altogether and no one would have thought he was a big enough threat that needed dealing with at that time.
Let me filter by heavy/medium/light armor on the TP
Not true. People buy stuff for the aesthetics all the time. Just look at all the cosmetics in store now.
If I had to remake my Necro, I’d do so as a Charr. As it stands, I’ve put too much into my current one to do so…but there you go.
