Fighting a necro tips?

Pressure Pressure Pressure, if they get to free cast you it is over. If you start the fight on range remember that their marks are unblock-able and usually very predictable, so these you should dodge.

When marks are gone you pop shield of courage and they suddenly have nothing accept their daze which you can stunbreak or just wait out. Anything they do in Shroud is meaningless cause you will block it all. This is the time where you jump in and start pulling and dropping a trap.

Against necro renewed focus is a must. I play this build:

wings of resolve x2 and LB 5 you lock with, and then whirl. U save one block shield for shroud and 1 to start pressure with.

You counter corrupt boon with wins of resolve, you cleanse and immobilize them, then you can pressure pressure pressure.

This helps me beat 90% of necros i face 1v1 as DH, HOWEVER when both play perfectly the reaper should win. It is stronger hands down and if he knows all of this and acts accordingly and saves marks etc you shouldnt win. However very few reapers are capable enough to do that.

My build is not at all dependent on GS, you can swap to sword focus of course its just that i like GS for funsies.

Hope this not very structured post helps. Also Contemplation of purity is in my opinion inferior to smite condition or a pressure trap against reapers.

Also use marauder amulet preferably vs reapers. Do note the sigils! I have no idea why everyone do not run this just listen:

Every time you switch to LB, you get a near instant always critical True Shot…
If in longbow, you Wing of resolve to immobilise, Then you quickness whirl with chill blast on switch.

Really strong burst to put pressure, leaves much less room for opponents reaction time which greatly increases hit rate against better players.

Just wondering because I am right now 3 pips from Legendary, if I don’t reach it before season ends, will i not get the wings?

I play exclusively soloQ and have been this close to legendary 3 times before, but have gotten very unlucky everytime i try to cross (you know when you get a thief and it turns out the elementalist is Freshair so you have no tank because they have just reached legendary and don’t care anymore….).

Yeah i agree, Sword aa needs change. It needs to not lock you in place, makes it feel very stiff and un dynamic. Dont care if the leap gets to stay or yada yada but let me control my own movements please

Bunker right now need to be toned down, no one is arguing otherwise. But this seems not to be a nerf to bring back in place, this patch is a witchhunt to eradicate all and every single bunker build there is. Burst cc power meta gets boring fast, bunker meta gets boring fast, endless condition meta gets boring fast, ANY meta where everyone is running same thing is boring. the only meta that can ever truly be amazing is one where bunkers, burst, sustain, condi and support all thrive so all classes can bring diversity and prosper to a fight.

Overreacting and going from one meta to another with an oversized nerfbat and WAY oversized buffbat is just playing pingpong with the PvP community. Getting a new meta is fun for a very short time, then it enevitable get boring. What should be celebrated is frequent and minor but brave changes.

Something tells me though that ANET simply lacks the resources too deliver what is needed to stabilise a long term fun for all meta, where one can play what you and as long as you are good enough at your own build: Youll be your own and viable meta!

All of you, ANET, writers on this forum, never forget that all that really matters is long term. Think bigger

Septer change = not overpowered

Boon corruption is entirely random.

Just with signets, if I remember correctly Corrupt Boon(not that noticeable due to the big amount of boons corrupted) and Unholy Feast still priorizes Stab

It’s all random. This was changed in the 6/23/15 patch.

My bad then. There’re still some situations where you can corrupt primordial boons without that much of a problem due to the low number of boons they ususally have(shatter mesm/druid)

This is true but still far too situational for any significant impact on build creation. My main argument still stands that this buff makes no distinction of a bad or talented necro, which is nothing but bad news for high level sPvP.

This change in its design still actively works against dynamic combat and celebrates spam.

Again, just to clarify, I argue that if a buff to Septer is you choice Arenanet then go right ahead, but this is not the way to do it. This will effectively hurt competitive gameplay.

This is not overpowered nor does it necessarily force Septer upon all builds given other weapons gets the buffs they deserve.

The problem with this buff is that it is random in its effectiveness. With luck you have extremely high effectiveness, with bad luck you have no effectiveness and there is nothing you can do to influence this in any meaning ful way. This buff will primarily buff the bad necros, not the more talented ones.

This change, or buff, is in direct contradiction to dynamic action. It is random, and will do nothing good for sPvP in any aspect.

I do not argue against a decision to improve Septer, I leave that decision to Anet. I do whole heartedly though argue that this is not the way to do it.

Necro buffs for diversity, not power creep

Hmm. I did not expect to meet so much resistance of moving the chill trait outside of reaper.. Kinda odd i find that, the thematic part of reaper is chill? Like really hehe i feel you missed the giant death reaper you turn into!

The dmg on chill is the biggest buff in the reaper traitline, and hence perhaps feels like it belongs the most. But to me I still wish that reaper trait line was all about reaper form, not a “must have” trait for any condi build aswell.

But simply put my argument for moving Chill trait is this: As long as chill dmg is as strong as it is now, and remains in reaper tree, Old shroud will not find its way back into pvp. Any power build and any condi build = everybuild for necro will always need reaper. (Until next elite specc atleast but who knows when thatll be?)

So for the sake of diversity, something needs to happen here. My personal taste is still that chill gets slightly nerfed and moved outside reaper and old shroud sees some buffs. The enormity of chill a reaper can put out without the chill dmg should be useful for power dps, to slow and kitten target! Isnt that more in line with the theme of the reaper anyway?

But the big question remains that id love an answer from ANET: Is it intended that specialisation should overpower old traits? Is it intentional that it will inarguably be the best trait line? I mean is it a goal for ANET to bring old shroud on par with reaper to get the diversity? I doesn’t seem like it, and it may not be for balance reasons. I just wish i knew so i don’t hope for something that isnt trying to be achieved

Yo, was thinking about what changes id like to see the most to bring on some more diversity to the necro/reaper. I do not wish to ask for a bunch of buffs in order to make the strongest reaper build stronger, but rather bringing in more builds to meta possibility. Especially making old shroud better! (I care nothing for WvW or PvE, this is for sPvP)

First of I kinda want Chill trait out of reaper tree and put somewhere else. I would much prefer if old shroud was stronger for condi builds, and reaper to be more for the power build. Also to balance things out perhaps change the trait to “cause dmg instead of slower skill regen” or something so leaving chill as it is would be better for power builds!

Buff too old shroud:

Dark Path: Make this an instant teleport and remove the hand. That would be so much fun and so awesome and a millian times for useful of a skill that is now unreliable which is never good.

Tainted shackles: Any condition applied to you is transfered to tethered enemy instead. This would make old shourd again the condition shroud!

Right now all builds, condi or power must ALWAYS take reaper. I don’t know if that is intended or not but i rather dislike it. If all above is true there would be a reason to go for old shroud whilst leaving reaper still very strong for power or celestial builds!

Instead of the chill trait in reaper which is ideally wish moved, something very powerful powerbuild wise should be added.

These are my initial ideas, hope you guys agree and anet will take a look and consider.
Do you agree with me? Do you also what old shroud to have instant teleport for terror+shill burst? And reaper to be more power specced?

2. Separate team Q and solo Q. DuoQ at most to mix with. (if absolutely needed for Q times then no pips lost EVER vs premade >2).
3. Bring more viability to NOT running elite speccs.

Just wanna throw this out there one extra time and cross my fingers message comes across to Anet from the community.

Passive abilities are winning fights and needs some heavy nerfs, or perhaps rather some heavy changes into active things!

Examples:

+ Mesmers Aoe fields that fights on their own and skills that you just spam spam spam i count as passives.

+ Diamond skin is kinda just lazy design.

+ Passive shroud gains, passive dmg from pets and traps.

+ Most importantly though, in this meta which is all about tanks. One class is tanking using viper amulett… Like do anyone really need explanation for why this is extremely poor?

+ Same sorta goes for Engineer tanks using burst amulett, not as critical right now but not far behind.

How to look at Revs before balancing:

Revenant is the best offensive character in the game because it is the worst target in the game. Remove the blocks and passive stability gains and give tools to be used creatively. A glass cannon build must live on the edge of his seat all of the time. A glass cannon build is exciting because it high risk and high reward.

Revenant now is high reward, and absolutely 0 risk.

Guild wars 2 should and could be a game all about the ACTIVE skill of players, now its consistently more and more and more about passives and rotations. Imagine for a second that battles were so active that you could by skill rather than balance kill 3 opponents on your own and turn the game by your own prowess? (kinda like counter strike, which we all know how unsuccessful that game has been cough)

This is the true aim for making soloQ and leagues successful.

Iv’e rambled a bit much perhaps but the intent is all good Just wanna do my part and sharing what balance insight i can muster. Please all add to it and help Anet make the right choices!

Actually bunker mesmer is pretty strong in Stronghold since you don’t stop channeling mist champion from dmg, so you can just power through the dps with stability and resistance. xD

Just got out of a match as solo queuer vs 4 man premade of 2 diamond 1 ruby and 1 amber. We were all ruby and lost 2 pips.

How can you let this be Arenanet? How can you be so docile? This is textbook abuse, its easy to spot, its easy to predict and its easy to remove.

Why is mmr just averaged over team? this is so kitten stupid. A premade 4man vs pug has 98% win chance. PERIOD! leagues do not matter, individual stats do not matter.

Do not wait until end of january please please please please. there is so much wrong with your leagues right now. But small easy fixes can be done in less than a day and will drastically change things quickly.

STOP BEING SO SLOW AND UNRESPONSIVE DEVELOPERS. THIS IS TOO EASY TO PLAY IGNORANT OF. THIS EXTREME LACK OF RESPONSE FROM DEVELOPERS MAKES EVERY SINGLE PLAYER FEEL ABUSED

Just lost two pips winning 500-300, this is either the worst design in pvp history (all games included) or this is a filthy mistake that should see a programmer fired. I don’t know which senario i hate more.

Well, both bunker and dps elementalist is pretty bad, that much i will agree with. But playing a support Auramancer is very strong in both random pvp and tournament. You can go for both a little tankier, healier or dpsier twists as well and weps are either d/f or staff.

I personally like staff better, if it is better always though can be discussed and you can make up your own mind. Water and tempest are mandatory, and earth as a third is meta. You can be funky ang go for freshair with the dagger or arcane with staff.

Unfortunately it isn’t that simple. If you deplete the Adrenaline, then they proc their Cleansing Ire (which technically would be a buff for good players).

I’m with you on the cooldown, but depleting adrenaline would be a buff because of Cleansing Ire. It’s not like adrenaline is hard to come by, anyway.

Simple, change Cleansing Ire to require a hit + depleted adrenaline to remove conditions. If you miss with your burst you get depleted adrenaline + no condi clear. Sucks for bad players but that’s what you get for not making sure your target is locked down before you burst them. It wouldn’t even be a huge nerf, you can still charge adrenaline while Bursts are on recharge and 3 condis cleared every 8s is already a MUCH higher rate of condi clear than any other class can achieve.

This would only result in one thing: No more mace warriors, every warrior would run Hammer/longbow since the bursts in it are reliable. It would remove 100% of the warriors diversity. So even if there needs prehaps too be some changes for the better of balance, such a thing as this is not the way to go at all.

For me who doesn’t play any PvE or WvW at all, I don’t care at all for a way to get gold. The only thing that I really feel is a complete given is that PvP gear and skins comes EXCLUSIVLY from PvP. The cooler the gear the higher skill of the player is what would make the gear a truly desirable! This would also mean no more “rank” from hot join, only from arena!

I would really like an acknowledgement from ANET regarding the current state of the elementalist. They have completely ruined the class and it shows in the most recent TPVP events.

yeah that’s the actual point of this thread :P Last i heard anything from the developers they said (about 1-2 months ago) : “When we have brought down the fotms abit elementalist will be fine”.
Then they proceeded to not nerf any of the fotm at all, and left the elementalists completely unchanged really apart from support staff. There just have to be one developer out there who are concerned with elementalist and their roll in pvp! the time for information is now, since last things they said was complete bs apparently!

Just wait, in time you’ll understand Anet’s masterplan, they’re 10 steps ahead all of you.

To be fair, they were ahead of most players when it came to warriors. I still don’t know why this forum is generally so sure of itself when most people were mocking the Berserker Stance changes as not enough when they first came out.

They where but in this case it is kinda irrelevant. The changes that were buffed were all in places where they were the least wanted. Elementalist want the ability too play with the one handed weapons as dd or similar and not be pigeon holded to support staff wich atm is the only possible outcome if eles were to break through into the meta.
The Conjures aswell REALLY wasn’t requested at all for spvper since the hole mechanic of them is too awkward for pvp (the cannot på used “on demand” or reactivly)…

So even if these changes will have an impact that makes the elementalist have a spot in meta, the problems will remain.

Stalefish, viable means it will work in pub games. Have you ever played dota?

I haven’t played dota no. I used the word not as a “gaming word” but as a english word.. but if it suits you better what i meant (wich i belive everyone understood) was that elementalist are not a as good as the other proffesions.. when using notions such as elementalist and proffesions it means that no matter what builds and roles the elementalist succedes in others will do better, or the roles and builds that elementalist do best wont be as good as the roles of others.

In the last tournament everyone played all kinds of funky new builds with different lvls of success and it was clear that no new meta or such was formed. but STILL there where close too no ele. What is this elementalist that you claim to be viable? if you do not trust the judgement of the top players in the world then surely you most be of extrem mighty-ness and i ask of you too share your wisdom!! post this amazing "viable"build!! (and remember viable in HIGHEST LVL PVP)

So I didn’t see every game but i saw most and I only saw one elementalist. He played staff support to no success at all.

Seems that everyone claiming elementalist is fine for high lvl pvp are wrong.

So any word from developers? any plans too change the elementalist? or is their plan still too do nothing and hope the problem magically solves itself? dont get me wrong i REALLY DONT want an op elementalist, but changes are needed here the most. thiefs were AMAZING during last tournament, warrior mesmer guardian ranger necro engii they all were sooooo much fun too see but elementalist really shined with their absence.

How can support staff possible ever be better then spirit ranger? every spell the eles has that ranger doesn’t the ranger makes up for in eternal dodge + protection

Legacy of foefire! I love the desperation lord rush and i like that the mid is huge so Aoe aren’t as strong!

As for Composition same as above.. just noo spirits, or necro pets or turrets or any AI at all, the less randomness the better. Also no thiefs, just because the class have so many tendencies to spam spam spam.. the really good ones does it only a little so they are ok but 95% of thiefs end up spamming.

Arena Net PLEASE give us some information!

What i think was understood before patch was that Anets view on Elementalist was that it was fine if other powerful classes was brought down alittle. Wish granted might have been true..

But Hammer/longbow remains the same
Spirit Ranger is now stronger than before
Terror necro might gotten abit weaker due too other condi removal buffs but not that ground breaking..
Power engineers went from FOTM to GODMODE
Mesmers was only buffed

Yes staff is good now… but it will never be more sought after then the other classes..
What weapons that whas on the brink of becomming viable hasn’t been touched and nothing in the game was nerfed! (stun was fixed not nerfed).

So Arena net PLEASE we want too hear your reasoning! Do you believe that conjures truly will ever have a place in spvp with cast time 60s cd and the loss of a utility spot?

Do you think that D/D S/D S/F D/F are all fine in pvp right now and viable in HIGH LVL Tpvp.. doo you belive that they can break through into the meta? IF you do please explain why? tell us your thoughts! tell us your reasoning! tell us your plans! just give us the information to understand this things!

You need too communicate with us! Spvper were ALL septer dagger focus users…. and we got nothing! we cannot afford using conjures, the trade off is too expensive.

I just really feel ignored by you guys and i am certain other feel the same way

All this time i thought that Anets reasoning was like: ok so if you bring down the fotms just a tad the elementalist will be in a great spot!

And yet all the fotms got buffed? Power engii just exploded, wich i like but still..
Spirit Ranger is much better now with extra second of protection on every dodge wich is a HUGE deal.. also they got improved condi removal with the heal
No nerf to necro terror wich was fotm…..
warrior got a bugfix for the stunlock.. wich is good but the fotm was hammer/longbow wich got a nice buff too compensate so they stay the same…

Soo just what happened??? the conjures and staff is all nice but they will never make it too meta… they will never make it al all in spvp! they are nice for wvw prehaps and pve but that is it!

It is just soo strange that a balance patch with pvp focus didnt include dagger septer or focus, when those are the weapons people want too be viable!

I just don’t understand at all, why? Can it be so that Anet honestly thinks that S/D D/D S/F D/F if all viable in Tpvp? this cannot possibly be right?

and wee dont want too be kitten OP as before! i HATED the gad dammn bunker survival ele! just some minor buffs that are UTILITY .. I don’t know.. just wish Anet would post their thoughts and plans for ele. I’d really like to hear their reasoning

Agreed. Conjures already had good skills. The problem was and is cast time and cooldown. They need to be instant, pure and simple, or they add nothing to diversity. I can see how it might be op having them exactly like kits with no cd, but at least reduce cd to something sane like 25s. Ele is poor man’s engie as it stands.

Yeah I want the conjures too be like kits in the sence that they can be “switched to” or “chosen” whislt in cc! I still think that the CD should remain though!

As title says, the true problem remains! Yes they buffed the skills and actually made them really nice, HOWEVER the problem is that the do not, at all, work “on demand”….

Right now all the conjures can only be used in a pre setup combo that do not get interrupted. This might work for PvE yes and even WvW i suppose, but for people like me, exclusive Tpvp, the conjures will never work unless you can use them REACTIVLY.

Especially the earth shield, a skill like invunerability that is purely defensive needs the be used when you are in an defensive posistion. And in an defensive posision you cannot just sorta say" you know what enemy? take a quick 2 sec break imma just conjure this thingy!"… same goes for the earth block, it is ONLY useful on demand not preemtivly! you cant just run up to someone blovking and be like “dude hit me!! hit me!!!!!”….

But imagine this! imagine all the conjures can be equipped WHILST stunned. now in a stunlock from warrior you can switch to the shield and as soon as he is just a tiny fragment of a second off on the lockdown you get in the invunerability or a block, similar to the engii tool kit block! Same goes for the Fire axe, it would be great if you could use it and dodgeroll back instantly WHEN NEEDED!

Prehaps one or too Conjures could even be stunbreakers, that would be awesome and if it is INSTANT and stunbreak that when it can be used reactivly.. and that is only when it will make any sence in TPVP…

So this is the truth right here:

Until conjures are not just instant but instant like kits are (switchable during cc), they will NEVER have a place in Tpvp.

I want to remain as unbiased as possible, so I will try my hardest to stay humble and civilized. This is about eles compared to every other class in PvP only

Given the latest development of the meta and the last MLG;

What can a ele bring to a table that other classes cant bring better and without that many sacrifices.

Eles have the best burst in the game. Eles give the best swiftness in the game. They’re competitive for being amongst the most mobile. These are not grounds for saying they are balanced, I feel they don’t stack up in the current meta, either.

My point is that you’re asking the wrong questions. The question should be, what kind of tools do elementalists need so they can stay relevant in teamfights, and relevant in sidepoint 1v1s.

Elementalists have never been about utility. Don’t stress out that your utility skills don’t hugely support your team. If that’s your goal, then try a Spirit Ranger, or a Mesmer with Portal & Illusion of life. Or a Banner warrior. Obviously, these builds have limited use and aren’t all included in ’what’s good’ right now. Many, many builds that are most viable right now aren’t totally support oriented, and that’s ok.

My analysis of Elementalists in PvP teamfights:

Elementalists are essentially ‘too good’ a target. I really think Elementalists should have the option as D/D bruisers to make them a pretty un-satisfactory target in a teamfight. Take the modern day Warrior for example. A typical 20 seconds of stability, and 10 seconds of condition immunity – enough for any smart player looking for a quick kill to deselect the warrior (even though he’s usually Berserker) and go for the peripheral team fighter – IE, Grenade Engi, Necromancer. That’s why Warriors work in teamfights. If Eles had some kind of short condition immunity period, I think that would be almost all it would take for D/D and S/D eles to be valuable in teamfights. They can already get a good amount of stability.

Overall it’s just important for professions that are designed to have a presence in fights (Guardian, Elementalist, Warrior) to be difficult enough focus targets while not being unable to eventually be brought down. It’s kind of perfect how balanced Warriors are in teamfights right now, actually. I wish the same for D/D and S/D eles.

Best burst? how do you define it as best? i mean it is not the strongest in just straight up dps.. warrior eviserate + quikness HB is far man dmd than any ele build att all can put out? or do you mean the most reliable? wich in a way is true but still not.. with the lack of defenses your burst becomes highly unreliable. if you have the defenses too pull the burst of then the burst is no longer that strong.. so this burst you speak of is it fresh air + arcanes? or is it the phoenix blink? How can you define the ele burst as “best”? The best burst is the one that can’t be countered right? id say the mace + gs burst from warrior is the best… the got 10 sec invounerablility that still caps points to get it off and 7 sec cd… and as a small bonus it includes 3 sec stun -.-

How is an burst is best when it have 0 cc or 0 survival… the best cc is the one that doesnt eat your utility spots.. the best burst is the one that can be consistant and doesn’t hinder your defenses. the best burst is the one that actually streangthen your defenses such as the burst with a stun…

If you mean highest dmg then you are wrong… you only think this because elementalist are the only class out there desperate enough to go 100% burst..

Hopefully they will change up the ele so it becomes good and viable without any op tendenses. But if anyone claims the ele is “fine” they are just simply wrong… the proof of that is too overwhelming

You are wrong about the sustain damage though.
Ele burst didnt have sustain damage prior to fresh air.With that trait you dont have to auto attack with the crappy fire,earth and water skills at all.And the discharges plus the lightning strikes it make it decent enough considering its at 900 range. I know it makes a huge difference cause without fresh air i barely bypass a warriors passive regen but with the trait i can poke him to death.You shouldnt spend as little time in air btw.Its quite the opposite and theres a 5 sec cd afterall. You leave air and go back in when you dont need the other attunement any more.
Btw i understand what you are saying about viability.I asked you if you can prove that ele is indeed a bad choice assuming high level gameplay.
Bsgapollo responded saying that the gw2 "elite " tried,failed and so its decided that ele is unviable or else suboptimal for ALL the roles this games pvp can have.
I just say im not conviced at all..Cant a man have an opinion these days?? :P
I personally could find a use fotr that sexy s/f burst against the longbow warrior meta ,engi heavy teams at least. In all other games i played.. denying for 6 sec the damage equal to what an engi and his nades spam can do to my team would be a pretty freaking huge deal..But in gw2 if its not sustain and numbers its not worth it ..thats the trend not with ele specifically

of course you can find a use for an ele… that is beyond the point though! Try this: Find an use for your ele that would make him viable in your team. Now consider every other proffesion and see if they can fill that roll. When you now have 3-4 other proffesions, put them in ranking order with the most effective at filling that roll on top. This process can be done 1 miljon times and never will the ele be first in the ranking list.

The elementalist can bring a few things such as S/F with 2 invunerable ress or stomps. Freshair burst + blink phoenix and stuff like that. This however as you say can always be trumphed by another class bringing something better.. as for the resses illusion of like, banner or elexir is just better…

And for those who say ele brings best burst? this is not the case….. And Warrior who speccs as much in burst as these eles have better burst. same goes for ranger! the only reason they dont is because they got better build. Ele dont have better build and therefore peps play uber burst to be able to do something.

And honestly if ele had “everything” why no cc? i mean dagger off hand one launch and one knock down on 40 and kitten cd? compared to warrior who can bring one aoe stun 2 sec 7 sec cd ane 3s+ stun 7 sec cd plus one daze and another stun? both warrior and ele needs to be melee yet warrior have too cc that are also leaps..

There is a reason why no one runs an ele.. and for all you who seem too think eles are strong outside this meta. well prehaps.. but next patch wont nerf warriors and if they dont buff the eles utility and cc a warrior will be superior.

So please Anet rework arcane spells, no more burst just make them always have elemental surge and less dmg.. then BUFF UTILITY! Make the fire field in focus same as mesmer, with and activate pull! (yes this would be sooo strong but guess what soo is 2 sec aoe fear and an 7 sec cd 2 sec aoe stun! ) and further more remove evasive arcana.. add the effect to 2 tier trait so they have 2 effects! make the focus daze target area! slightly buff focus and dagger dmg! (if they nerf arcane skills dmg by like 50%)

As title goes! when i am playing in this clip at 07:15 I use my elite skill and it goes off BUT i get cc:ed just after in the delay before Runes of Lyssa procc and the procc does not go off even though the skill has gone thru! Is this intended?

I have been playing around alot with the warrior lately and finally have i come to the conclusion that Hammer/Greatsword is my favorit specc atm!

I have played alot of stun lock aswell as longbow/hammer but i really feel that H/GS is much more action filled and also has alot of potencial! Compared to the Longbow/hammer build, what u loose from not having the longbow burst dps you gain in more adrenalin for earthshaker aswell as for the regen! Also you will have way more speed and generally work better as a roamer! You will also have much more survivability with the increased mobility making you much harder to hit or chase!

I still have ALOT to learn and my gameplay contains some flaws but i am posting this build to showcase the H/GS potencial rather than personal skill so here goes! I hope you enjoy watching ! (I put in a bonus clip at beginning because i thought it looked kinda fun )

Trying to seem “good” reeeaaallly wasn’t the point of the thread! What i meant by that was that PvEers generally suck at PvP which makes sence however it is also very likely that I would really suck at PvE !

I hate… no actually thats not enough i despise PvE so much i puke of the thought of it. I play Tpvp only and have absolutely no intention AT ALL at playing anything else!

However, it seems that obtaining cool gear and back items in PvP is done easiest from bringing “skins” from PvE. The only other aspect of the game besides Tpvp i can stand and actually like is the character customization! Gear skins are a huge part of this and the fact that the dudes with the coolest gear comes from PvE is to me the equivalent of the developers spitting the Pvper in the face…

this is by far the dumbest proposal i have ever read on this forum…
Stun has ALOT of counter play, stunbreakers are not very effective but good enough. But if that isnt satisfactory then use stability wich is pretty easily obtainable and if THAT doesn’s suit you then roll an engi and invest 20 trait points and recieve 50% less dmg when stuned or knocked down!

My guess is you play either an spirit ranger or a necro… and complaining since stuns are the counter play to you.

Also “needs” to go?! really? what “need” are you refering to? because now it doesn’t make any sence. And it is absolutely NOT a “I win” button, to claim that is severely ridiculos.

this being said, arguing that some of the warrior builds needs some balance tweeking is reasonable. But with the removal of the current meta propably won’t be neccessary.

Anet, are you serious? if you think it is the lack of support in the conjure weapons that makes ele unusable in tournament high level then just delete the whole proffession from spvp… it is beyond your abilities to fix..

tried http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_Speed before on my Guardian since i wanted to make a roamer guardian but unfortunately the runes did not provide the 25%speed …. they just simply didnt work even though i tried in the mists and arena and hot join! hope youll fix it soon.

That might work for a 1v1 thief but a PVE thief says no thank you.

Making this post i did not consider PvE and neither can i since i am not even remotely interested in pve, so if this would be too big of a hit id suggest it as only spvp change!

And low initiative traited non-boon theft thief says no as well.

I want to be able to use all skills on my weapon set, instead of just #2 #5 #1, the recent
1ini increase already made it hard to put in a FS>LS when needed.

for a none boon none ini build prehaps this skill should be extremely situational since it is so powerful? But i get your point none the less. But considering the current meta, i still think a change like this is justified

This skill makes the thief a boon stealer wich i really love! However i also love how most of the thief skills has to be used strategically and at the right moment, as this is not the case for Larcenous Strike (very spammable, no penalty for over use) I suggest the following:

make it so that it can steal 3 boons but cost 1 initiative for each condition stolen.

this would result in making this skill what i belive it was ment for. if only dealing dps this skill would be a bad choice, also if the opponent has only say regen and might this skill would also not be the best choice. however it would be an amazing choice still vs say a plauge form and a guardian with the protections and stability. I believe this change would be a change both nerfing AND actually making the thief S/D more fun.

what do you guys think?

S Tier:

Necromancer:
Some MINOR nerfing the their damage output and as compensation som new defensive options and i think they will end up really well

Guardian:
This game is reliant on a bunker, Guardian is unchallanged in this and the only class that i think is a absolute must in any composition. if one team lacks a guardian, regardless of the rest of the compositions, as long as the skill lvls are the same that team will always loose. Tone down the invunerables and defensive just a small tad and suddenly other classes can go bunker aswell! Ele bunker, warrior bunker would become options!

A Tier:

Thief:
I think thiefs are in a good place, S/D is prehaps alittle over the top but i still think people will learn to adjust to them and edventually they will not feel as powerful. I think they should change the boon steal abit and make it unspammable. So the choice of stealing boons would be conscious decision with a penalty only worth doing if the boons are correct and with decent time left!

Ranger:
Strong right now and in my oppinion the most balanced class of them all. Work on making the pets ai more reliable and prehaps some new weapons rather than changing the current! the spirit build is good now but even so has its weaknesses to aoe and so forth so not op !

Engineer:
The elite is without a doubt op. this has been my oppinion since first beta.. but all in all nothing mayor needed at the moment! prehaps some minor buffs to power builds would spice things up!

B Tier:

Warriors:
Stunlock and good conditions removal, awesome ress elite! Even so there is just something missing. I think a small increase in mobility would go a long way. But really i hate this kittening class and i hate fighting them and i really hope they wont get any buffs. but in the interest of being honest and useful, yeah they need something new and spicy!

Mesmer:
Condition removal needed. Prehaps mindwrack removes 1 condition per illusion shattered ? and make the Arcane thievery instant!! Also make the illusions abit more lifelike! make them dodge and run arround so the mesmer can blend in more! thats the hole idea for mesmer illusions right?

S Tier:

Elementalist:
Cannot fit any role even close to aswell as other class atm. the S/D ele burst is very hard to pull off with the phoenix + teleport etc. The new Air trait where amazing and a good step in the right direction!
First change id make is change place for boon duration and healing power! Then move down to first tier Elemental surge! New elite severly needed! give the elemental elites a activation skill!!! If you could activate the healing from the Ice elemental consciously say with a 2 sec cast time and buff the attacks of the other spirits this elite would be amazing! Really fun and really useful and not at all op! right now a good option for tpvp elite is strongly needed!
