Some players forget one thing: WvW is a warlike gamemode. It may be sad for outnumbered servers to get farmed like this but from a technical view spawncamping is explicitly wanted. Since the server with the most points wins and beyond of this even more points means also an even better total ranking it should be the goal of any server to get as much points as possible. This implies if your team is dominating the maps you should then probably focus on breaking the morale of your enemies as much as possible.

Well, it has some advantages and disadvanges to implement such a feature. Players which are focusing on playing WvW would indeed get stronger than the average but WvW isn’t competitive so this shouldn’t be a problem especially with a limitiation of these abilities to EotM only. But introducing such a feature would give players a long-term motivation for collecting WXP.

What do you think if we would have unlimited world-abilities for every attribute we have? For example for every 5 world-skillpoints we could increase an attribute by one. These world-abilities would have no limit (which implies that the cap on world-rank 10.000 would be nullified) and they would be only active in the Edge of the Mists.

I’ve noticed a couple bugs. Warrs are hitting harder than thieves but hardly take any damage.

Before balancing the warrior compared to a thief we should look what stealth needs to be fixed:

- Stealth needs an aggressive diminishing returns.
- Avoiding damage from stealthed enemies should make them visible.

Also, do you have any idea when 1.8 will be released? I’ve got 1.7.17 on my machine currently.

It seems Wine 1.8 will be released if the CSMT patches are finished. If I remember correctly parts of it are already integrated in Wine 1.7.×.

Warlord, dou you want to list only skill/trait issues or really all warior issues here? I’m asking because you have forgot to add my posted adrenaline bugs.

everything you listed with the reason “Sometimes this skill does not work when the target is on the outer edges of the frontal Cone or when flanking a target.”

Ranged attacks does often not hit when they should. For example you can get out of range messages even if you are very close to your target. The same happens for obstructed messages if your target is clearly in line of sight. There is definitely a bug, but this is maybe just a validation issue or related to the current movement validation issue. But basically every ranged attack is affected by this bug so I think it is not needed to list every related skill then (instead it could be posted as a generic bug).

- The adrenaline bar does not lower until you are the first time in combat in an instance (for example go to any city, activate Signet of Fury and do nothing – the adrenaline bar will now not lower until you go in combat).

- After the first time you get out of combat in an instance and fill your adrenaline bar it will lower immediately (normally it should keep its level for several seconds).

1. Linux users pay for their games quite generously and generate just as much as their Mac brethren.

From the Humble Bundle statistics we know that Linux user are paying more than Mac users and that they are paying more than Windows users. But maybe an increased market share will reduce the average sum.

Many linux users want a complete rewrite of GW2’s code for OpenGL. I do not think anyone has any idea how much work this may or may not require of Anet. Even for their mac client, they used Cider instead of doing it themselves. It’s quite likely that Anet looked into OpenGL at some point, realized it would take more time than necessary, and got another group to do it.

Maybe ArenaNet could try to make a beta client with Wine or Crossover. But currently there are some problems with Wine:

- Raw input does not work (but it is already implemented in Wine, there is just a bug preventing it from correctly functioning).
- Wine cannot fully take advantage of multiple cores in relation with the graphic parts of DirectX (at least this will be fixed in Wine 1.8).

Or ArenaNet could make a beta client with Guild Wars 1 on Wine before this as an experiment as Guild Wars 1 runs currently much better than Guild Wars 2.

That said, I play GW2 through wine on Archlinux and would love to see a linux client so I can get greater than 15 FPS.

Just wait for Wine 1.8 as it is not unlikely that we will get a performance boost of ~100+% on multicore systems.

The grandmaster trait Heightened Focus of the warrior does still not show the bonus to critical-hit chance in the attribute menu if the adrenaline bar is filled. I’m wondering if this will get fixed someday.

Strange crash

The game is a 32 bit application and still limited to 4 GiB of memory even on your 64 bit Windows. I’m encountering this issue too on my 64 bit system even with minimal details (but lowering the details increases the time until an OOM appears). Maybe the game does just have a heavy memory leak which gets hopefully fixed in one of the next updates.

Repairing walls while getting out of reach

There are some walls that can be repaired from the outside without a problem while others can’t. But on some walls it is possible to jump on their slopes on the bottom, hitting very fast F and if you are lucky you will repair them while sliding down and being out of reach for a repair (but this doesn’t cancel the repairing process). But this leaves one question to me: Is this intended or is this a bug?

Also the same applies on some ressources for example on Pangloss Rise. There are sometimes mushrooms on top of a slope and if you try to jump it up and pressing fast F on the top you will slide down while still successfully harvesting the mushroom.

I wanted to buy now all recipes that were introduced with the living story “Escape from Lion’s Arch”. I could successfully buy the recipe for the Maintenance Oil Station from Evon Gnashblade and the recipe for Gift of Blades from Miyani. But it seems that the recipes for the Sharpening Stone Station and Tuning Crystal Station aren’t available anymore as Urmaug doesn’t sell the first one and Ellyna Graidy seems not to be at her location anymore. Does anybody know if these both recipes are still buyable somehow or if they will be introduced later again?

  • Sometimes when you wipe you restart at arena instead at the beginning of the fractal.
  • The same happens in the Captain Mai Trin Boss fractal.

I’m wondering if this will get fixed before the saison starts as it will be really unfair if players can exploit this with PvE mobs or even using their pets to destroy siege weapons behind/on a wall. Sometimes keeplords and their veterans are also running outside of the inner ring.

Yesterday on playing world 2 zone 2 and 3 I got 2 disconnects due to router problems. As these levels are very long and can need several hours to complete it is very annoying to repeat them over and over. Today I got 2 disconnects on trying getting all bubbles and finding all secret rooms in world 2 zone 1 (at least it was not a client-sided fault). Playing with another player is not a real option as I’m prefering to researching all alone at the first time.

With the Queen’s Jubilee we can encounter bosses in the pavilion which needs some above-average tactics to succeed. Normally a player needs a lot of tries to gain enough experience to succeed on all achievement challenges which will need up to 6 tickets a try. But there is a problem: You gain tickets relative slowly but need normally a huge amount of them. This results in investing over 90% of the time on ticket grinding instead of doing the challenges. If you are unlucky you will need to full-time-grind until the event ends just to get enough tickets which looks very asia-grind-like to me.

I have tested this already a few months ago: The burrowing ability is stopped by intact gates and walls (maybe even by destroyed ones but since today I was not able to test this).

I was attacking the overgrown grub from the outer walls of the blue fortress but suddenly to attack me the overgrown grub was going through an undamaged wall. In the attachments are 2 screenshots which are showing this. I remember to have sometimes seen NPC’s and ranger pets to go through undamaged walls in the last time too.

I’m assuming the achievement is working a little different as you are thinking. I would expect that the counter increases only if you get your daily reward, meaning that you need 6 days in total to complete both of these achievements.

On Southsun Survival you can also end up alone in a game and get the winner chest after 2+ minutes. This will also repeat infinitely until you leave the arena. Maybe this happens because the arena instance is attached to an overflow server which gets out of players. This was also possible at Crab Toss so this seems to be a generic problem.

The Dragon Bash festival introduced rich dragon coffers into the trading post which can contain with a low chance a “Recipe: Dragon’s Revelry Starcake” (+270 mixed stats; +5% critical damage; +20% magic find; +10% experience points). This recipe is account bound and provides the highest allround boosts in the game. This means you are forced to use your gems but even on buying 25 chests with 2000 gems you can still get no recipe.

Other players could say that the boosts are not worth it: It doesn’t matter how much higher the stats are because it is definitely a playful advantage. Also I’m sure there are enough players that would be happy to use these boost.

But other players could also say that you can buy the food directly at the trading post: Items on the trading post are commonly more expensive than making it yourself and there is no warranty that players are providing them all the time in the trading post.

Guard leech is already lost in downed mode

The english description of guard killer level 10 says that guard leech will be lost on death. But on my tests after going into downed mode and defeating the enemy the stacks were already lost. Either the description should be changed or guard leech should really only be lost if the character dies.

There are rumors that crossing the bridge while you’re fighting only Horrik at the end will also reset the counter. But I don’t know if this is true and if yes if just the teleporting causes this behavior or because you are out of the fight (if this happens).

WvW Defender/Attacker Rewards

Nice idea since it enhaces the gameplay greatly for all players:

- Karma-Trains doesn’t prefer non-upgraded keeps anymore because players can get higher rewards on overtaking upgraded keeps.
- Players want to prefer defending and upgrading keeps over continuing on the Karma-Train because they can get much more rewards doing so.
