As the title says , I recently got a new pc and I’m trying to install GW2 on it but every time I try to do so the client either crashes or freezes at about 19%, I have looked at different solutions over the net but so far no luck. Is this a known issue or do I just have the worst luck.

Anet are total idiots when it comes to Balance , there was absolutely no need to nerf S/D , I hardly ever play this game anymore myself and when I do I don’t even bother logging on thief because playing one is pointless , the class has been dismantled bit by bit with every patch because the devs are totally clueless on how to balance a game.

the reward system is fine as it is.

Are you slow ? my guess is yes i asked you to name a build that dedicates 12 traits to any of the shatter skills as in F1 F2 F3 and F4.

S/D thieves still invest 8 traits into steal alone. thats a lot of traits for 1 F skill don’t you think ? it sure has as hell should be worth it with that much investment.

nice build dude seems like good damage output with it and enough sustain through the amount of dodges you get from the acro line though these days i cannot live without the trickery line , the low steal cd and the boon steal are too good.

Regarding the blinding powder i only take that when I’m running 2/0/6/0/6 when i run acro i take signet of stamina instead.

Props to you though for going with something that not everyone is running hope you have success with it.

Its not a bug. It works as intended, albeit it may feel irrational. Read the tooltip, it says “unblockable”. Both the poison ticks and the intitiating direct damage upon placement of the AoE are unblockable, and just like all other unblockable skills they do not trigger any on block effects. That includes removal of Aegis. It doesnt block anything, why should it be removed?

I can understand where you come from and i´d like Aegis to vanish when i use Choking Gas as well, but as far as i can tell, this ain´t a bug.

If it was blockable then they could actually block it completely so the poison field won’t appear. No thanks to that. I’d rather leave it as it is.

The initial hit ( 300 dmg lol ) should be blockable but not the poison field.

I really dislike the jump dodging all the time. Also, you dodge too much randomly, which is something S/D really encourages though. Overall, I think the nerf is not too bad but I was never really a S/D player.

I dodge because i try to anticipate what people are going to do , basically its get a couple of hits in then dodge , thats what helps me survive in these type of fights but yes if it weren’t for feline grace then i would save my dodges for the hard hitting stuff only but if can afford to dodge the stuff that don’t hurt as much i will.

As for jump dodging , i like it and will keep doing it.

I agree with you on the the fact S/D don’t suck but you don’t have to be that rude , since he still does pretty good. As someone said , he still lands almost all his FS . The thing is people have been used with a mechanism on a weapon set for almost 1 year and a half , so no matter how anet could change it , it’s weird for all those people who was maining the set .

Concerning the gear , pls … You make it sounds like ascended is soooo gamebreaking compared to exotic ( + the people he’s fighting are certainly ascended )

Well the question is was acro/trick fine before the introduction of the runes of strength and fire/air sigils? if the answer is yes then why nerf them ?

Larcenous has such a long cast that unless out of endurance no one should have trouble dodging it ever . It was already telegraphed with a little sign flashing above the thief saying that he has larcenous set up which is all the counter play anyone could ever need because it basically had the thief tell you " HEY DUDE i have that boon steal thingy up better get your dodges ready".

Out of all the stuff out there , like …..engi burn proc on crit which doesn’t have a tell or Necro’s reaper protection etc.. its quite interesting that they thought this was what needed a counter play ( it had one , a BIG one already ).

If they really had to nerf it to please the cry babies what they could have done was decrease the amount of time you could have larcenous up, it was 3 sec i believe reduce it to 2 , anything but what they have done really , they just turned flanking into spammy clunky skill ( which will get nerfed again btw after thieves start using it as a mean to evade more ).

This was a non issue and the change wasn’t thought through, the end.

Its because of cry babies like the OP that things that do not need nerf get it anyways , they kitten so much that Anet eventually has to do something.

Yea i’ve ran into to the same problem as the OP countless times it really needs to be fixed.

More l2p , less QQ . you sound like you just want your hands held , Necro marks are fine the way they are and thieves shadow refuge does have a counter , knock the thief out before the house disappears and voila.

It was a tpvp match of course , i wasn’t on thief though anyways when i come back from my vacation ( around the 28th ) i’d be happy to set up a 1 v 1 with you so you can show us WvW noobs just how superior of a thief you are :-).

The Op is as clueless as it gets tbh and he obviously started this thread to flame people since he was on Amon’s thread earlier spilling the same stuff.

You’ve been told this but ill repeat , the reason people aren’t happy about the changes isn’t because they are going to make our class unplayable its more about how unwarranted and unnecessary the changes were …..however for some reasons that seems to be too difficult for you to grasp.

I for one was hoping that considering that all professions are getting cool new stuff we might actually get something to be excited about i guess i was naive.

S/D didn’t a nerf the only thief skill that could have been looked at is d/p’s shadow shot , if anything they should have looked at reverting the change to inf return , make it instant cast again when you aren’t stunned but nope as always they took the easy way out , they are idiots to be honest and i should have seen this coming.

S/D wasn’t really talked about since the april 10th patch but then all the suddens the sigils get buffed , strength runes get buffed , we start hearing " ACRO OP O MY GOSH NUUUUURF" " S/D TOO STRONG NURF" did it occur to Anet’s dumb kitten that what might be making the set strong are the changes to the runes and sigils ? nope they go ahead and nerf the set because their tiny brains cannot add 2 and 2 together …….g kittening g……….zzzzzzzz.
