You can have broad Norn female, just very few choose that. When folks chose Norn males, they always picked the broadest and biggest, oddly enough.
future armor set?
Burning Arrow may be lackluster, but Stronger Bowstring is not. Making LB auto 1200 is insane and make Ranger obsolete.
Putting it in Tactics leave rooms for melee weapons in Strength and Arms. And LB is in fact a very effective tactical weapon in WvW, so it goes there naturally. WvW has many choke points that you can make use of, with arching arrow and combustive shot, it does insane amount of ae condition damage to large group of enemies if placed right. Also, if you are shooting from high ground, your arrows can actually hit further than its range. Think the English Longbowman defending castles raining deaths from above.
Simple. Stag Armor set.
It would be nice to have more scars options. Otherwise you can adjust your facial details to utter ugly if you wish.
A side note, Scandavanian women are smoking hot, just saying :P
In fact I think all high level areas are like this. group dynamic events pop up here and there when there’s no players, the questing hubs always down with champions that do knockdown combos with groups of minions ganking on you.
The high level areas simply look very unfinished.

Is it just me or is this map screwed? Bugged DEs aside. Everything in here seems 3 times tougher and does triple damage on me, they respawn so fast and block all your paths, all the wps are constantly contested 24hrs. So when I have only off peak hours to play the game, this map is simply impossible, not even trying to cross the straits.
Ynna’s post is mainly of good intent. Seeing how many “We’re underpowered!” everywhere in profession forums, it’s worth to have a close look at each trait and skill instead of screaming another “Anet didn’t care [insert profession]” thread. More constructive this way.
Anyway, I can vouch on Ens about Focus Mind and Elite Focus. Since I’m a support guardian build, I found instant meditation an incredible bonus to many builds of this kind, it’s just that I want them all and I couldn’t make up my mind :P
Tome of Wrath is just insanely powerful, I could flip the side of the table in a contesting node with proper use of it. So extending its duration is very very very helpful.
What is a traditional mage? Longsword Gandulf? Pointy hat Elminister? Or the demon summoner Soloman?
This game isn’t even using the word mage or wizard, why would force fitting Elementalist or Mesmer into your little close minded “traditional mage” make any sense at all?
It’s a different game, something new for you to learn, throw away your “tradition” and adapt, or be selected out in war zones.
15 points in arcane, 5 points in each element (or just the ones you want), and you have exactly that.
A guardian doesn’t need to spec for it, it’s a feature. But ok I’ll take a look into your build and see if I could find my own style in there.
As a guardian main. No guardians are as squishy as ele if he/she’s not pulling out a shield and specced in toughness, which I am. When I pulled out my staff and changed my slot skills to full support, any other profession can 3 shot me, if i’m not careful.
Coming from a 0/0/30/30/10 guardian

All three virtues have passive effects and active effects. The passives stay there all the time until you activated them. Once virtues on cd, you don’t gain passive benefits, but the activation could be very crucial and powerful when executed in time. They are the class skills just like attunements on elementalist skill bar.
They could be improved through traits just the same as elementalists attunements.
I’m offended they are not in full old Norse for Norn.
I think it’s adequately done. Simply because it’s a tutorial, and you cannot skip it. If a newbie couldn’t understand how combat works, let them learn in the open area, not get them stuck in a tutorial. It is only an introduction, not an obstacle or a challenge, which are bountiful out there in starter areas.
The leg bent is a martial art stance to assert sure footing. It makes turning swift while maintaining the pose as well as hard to be tackled. Different martial arts/swordmanship may have different pose but they are quite similar to achieve sure footing.
It’s like WoW warrior stance dance, I like it a lot.
even though he’s geared at high level, he was ganked by 10+ people and made very well timed use of shields, CCs and escapes. He couldn’t make a single kill until after a min initiating the harassment when two folks believed they could chase him down. So he killed them 1 vs. 2, bailed out and picked out the unwary over and over again.
Very well played.
I wish there is at least some kind of passive benefits while switching between elements. Like the virtues for Guardians.
Dolyak helm looks a bit out of place with other pieces of the set :/
Cossack sword dance
It’s a very normal posture for holding a shield. Both Norn and Skyrim Nord derive from Norse mythology and culture. The dragon thing is in Old Norse myths, not surprising if they share some kind of similarity.
open a field of fire with arcing shot and switch to rifle to rain burning bullets to your enemies, very viable in any situations.
I play warrior to play a ranged without pet, I don’t see problem with that. When needed I switched and jump and still wreck havoc. Yes WvW is my bloodbath.
utility bar full of signets is fine, l2p :P
A good warrior knows when to switch weapons and know what fight to win. Go out boasting your 1v1 win in a WvW when your team is losing the orb makes your a horrible warrior. While you might get focus picked out with weapon/warhorn build, that does not mean you are useless. Accurate timing of stability, break, swiftness goes a long way for the team.
I prefer cossack sword dance over techno viking
Good idea, but I worry that mob behaviour distribution might break the difficulty of some quests. Personal quests have their problems as it is, mobs in heart quests venturing too far off or ganking en mass to make certain area unquestable.
Love underwater events and quests, I enjoyed playing Descent back then this feels like an improvement from the 90s.
Abilities however needs tweaking, my damage as guardian is already low as it is (mace sheild), and I’m like doing 1/10 of damage underwater. Abilities restriction brings more forethought for players and they can all adapt to change, but the damage overall is just pathetic.
Lvl 80 Prestige Armor should always be exotic (culturaltier3*cough*)

I don’t find it particularly strong with boons. I just think as a cultural ultimate, it should have something related to the race beyond the look. The set bonus could encourage people to work hard for it. Rather than the “it’s not worth it” attitude we have now.
Dialogue writers sent to ban bots? sorry your resource management skill is pitiful.
What worries me is a Halloween event full of broken and bugged quests…
I agree level scaling cost is annoying as hell. But let’s consider this, you gain level scaling rewards in DEs even in low level areas.

I suggest adding cultural set bonus for cultural armors, to reflect that they are beacons to those of same race. Which could be great in WvW
1200 range
Tier 1: Protection to all of same race around him
Tier 2: Protection and regeneration
Tier 3: Protection, regeneration and might
With price like that, I don’t think these bonus are unreasonable.
On the trait should gain 50% toughness when using shield instead of flat 50. Shield of Absorption already has less CD from trait and it can block a freaking trebuchet.
“The Brave Sir Robin” is Logan’s theme song.
I also really like Logan. Poor guy always being picked on.
I like him to, but Jennah would probably sing the previous part of Brave Sir Robin song :P
GW 2 will retain with around same as GW 1 population, which is not comparable to most other top MMOs out there. I will continue to enjoy this game, cheers Anet.
I get more thank you in an hour in the game than a day in my work :P
Make Dodge work in the direction my camera is facing, not in the direction my character is.

I enjoy thinking through my character, but that’s just my preference. I dodged wrong mostly from sudden change of location of my enemies, otherwise I’m fine.
I’ve played WoW since beta. They fixed some bugs after release, and created new ones, then the fear into oblivion bug and intercept to 3 miles away never got fixed after 3 years.
Fixing bugs in software development takes more than a month, sometimes half a year or more. Most players don’t know anything about software development, but that’s fine, your player base doesn’t have to be all nerds.
What I see is that GW 2 had made a lot of efforts in expanding contents before launch, far more vast than vanilla WoW. The engine is great, the graphics the details are awesome, the weather effects are superb, and surprisingly enough they don’t glitch with low end cards. I think they fixed most of the engine related issues for like how long? 4 years? People were about to lose interest in the game after so many years of waiting, so I think Anet kinda pushed it a little bit.
It’s a game without subscription, and I had far worse experience with other games, so I would only urge Anet to try their best without sacrificing human babies.
Logan’s slot skill majorly modified.
Merciful Intervention
Meditation: Teleport to Queen Jennah and create an overprotective shield around her.
Sanctuary
Consecration: Form a protective ego that prevents friends and Charrs from flaming, and heal Jennah.
Wall of Reflectoin
Consecration: Protect Jennah with a wall of ego power that reflects flaming.
WoD whether the old system of the new Adventure system wouldn’t fit. D&D 3e gives too many variables that GW 2 professions just wouldn’t fit, and you have refrain from using its accessories since they are all broken.
GURPS maybe, Rolemaster seems ideal enough. 4e however seems rather good with a few tweaks in “daily” and “encounter” cooldowns. I personally would only prefer 2e with player’s options.
Logan’s passive: Reduce casting time of b by 20%
Q: Enter stealth when casting recall
W: Break out of stun and immune to disrupt when recall
E: Taking damage reduces casting time of recall by 10%, stack 5 times, lasts 5s
Ultimate: Instantly b cd: 150s
Removing mounts make speed boost skills a lot more valuable.
When I just hit 60 in WoW, I couldn’t afford the epic mount, so every match in AV I was left behind with others with the same fate to defend the camp. Simply because, those epic mounted 60s would reach me and ganked me off anyway at 1/3 of the map and forced me back to the start. I don’t find it any more fair to GW 2 walking.
what is DEs? I guess I should hawk the gem conversion like stock market then. The profit cycle is slow, but with enough time and completing the world at the same time I guess I could get around enough money by the end of the year, hopefully.
LB/s|wh warrior is great in WvW, very good. You’re not going to be the WoW charge in fear HS MS for wins type, this is a different game. But a warrior is a warrior, in historical sense not in WoW sense.
Dr. Pepper with Kettle chips vinegar and salt.
Now there are still a lot of places I haven’t explored (only 48% completion) and I believe I’ll spent rest of the year visiting the world. The thing is WvW is so distracting and so money draining (siege weapons, repairs) I can’t even find a way to save money for the tier 3 cultural set. I’m beginning to think about spending $50 in gem store for that, seeing the money spent there seems more worthwhile than on other “collector’s” stuff.
Anyone can suggest some ways to make money other than hawking TP?
I like Norse women :P
You wait til a mace shield guardian ran up and put up a wall while getting focus fired (don’t ask). Then jump the guy who tried to melee that guardian (again don’t ask). Otherwise, pull out your rifle and start owning.
All classes have a line of great ranged or melee skill sets, switch on situation. And no a reckless full exotic warrior cannot live 5 sec of a massive face off. And siege weapons do massive damage.
I just finished it last night with my slightly taller than averge female norn. The key is not to pan your camera so that you face where you are jumping, but rather, move and jump side way like you’re playing old school Mario Brothers. Some part would require you to guess your steps, but the game engine is good enough to capture your grip even if you were slightly off.
