I must be able to play as a Koda.
Seems to me you always want the third level healing for the passive regen.
I don’t play PVP, so my comments will be limited to my experience at PVE
I need my rifle as a warrior in PVE. When I get chewed up too much I can switch to rifle and to some kiting until my health goes up, then I can charge in.
I’m not sure why warriors should be punished and forced to be more melee. If there is no holy trinity, I want a DPS person who can do melee or ranged. Might as well leave rangers using only one dagger for melee because they are the “ranged” class.
I end up dying quite a bit against the risen. Either buff warriors or nerf risen.
The passive healing for warriors really isn’t that much considering all the risen you end up fighting and it can quickly be overrun.
Like the riddles in the Hobbit, these are the old style riddles, not the drek we know today as riddles with a question/punch line.
These are not meant to be humorous. That idea of riddles is entirely new.
Juvinile river drakes are found in the area just outside of Divinity’s Reach. No need to go to Orr.
I would have to say that if the game is only 3 days old, just create a toon an a different server. You couldn’t have possibly gotten too far in the game.
Step 1: Remind the Norn they are our servants.
Step 2: Send Norn to fight Golems.
Step 3: Evil Laughter.
I think you will have a problem with step 1. Step 2-3 should be easy.
Perhaps Step 1 is to let the Norn know that you will provide a challenge for their skills.
Check out this video. He does a good job of explaining mobility in GW2.
^this.
This video is great!
For my Norn Warrior if I get into trouble against several mobs, I find that if I switch to my rifle and start kiting, I suddenly find myself getting healthy until I can either kill the mob or dive back into melee.
However with melee I am always moving. The sidestep melee straffing described in the video is exactly what you should be doing. Or if ranged, the ranged straffing.
When you see red circles under you it is time to dodge. There are also other clues that a melee enemy is doing something you need to dodge. But if you are always moving around the target chances are you will never be facing the attack that needs to be dodged anyway.
All other MMO’s I’ve seen you just stand there when you attack. And that’s fine for those games. In this one you need to stay mobile or you will die quickly.
One wonders the purpose of having you join an order in the first place? After a few missions it’s all Pact stuff and it doesn’t matter what order you are a part of.
I agree. I just recently resumed my personal story and my god it’s bad. It’s like it isn’t MY story anymore…it’s all about him and him being a great leader. My character barely gets any lines anymore… + his voice acting is terrible. Why did you have to replace awesome Forgal with this generic boring character? Anet, if you love your players you will remove Trahearne from the game entirely and never mention his existence again.
Every time I see him in a cutscene I feel like punching a hole through my screen
Btw, this guy would be awesome instead of Trahearne!
You’re kidding, right? This guys voice is soooo goofy. I prefer Trahearne’s voice now.
Yup-yup. The story was going awesomely until they made the very, very stupid decision to replace Forgal Kernsson (one of my favourite NPCs in the game) with this stupid talking vegetable who shows up from nowhere, gets all the glory for what my character does from now on and has the personality and acting of a stick.
If it was truly my Norn Warrior’s personal story, he would’ve made salad out of him and eat him with some Dolyak Steak! No-one steals a Norn’s legend!
See, here’s the problem. I don’t know who Forgal Kernsson is. Never met the dude. Is he not in the Priory of Durmand? If not, then the flaw in your reasoning is that everyone doesn’t know who this person is. You can’t have any of the order personnel take charge because not everyone knows who they are. Not a mistake in my opinion to replace someone I’ve never met.
You need someone else to step in and take over who is not in any order so that everyone finds out who this person is. Plus the other two orders would never take orders from someone from the third order. The Pact leader has to be outside all three orders. Trahearne is the person for this. Plus I’m guessing that everyone, no matter what order they join has missions with Trahearne before he becomes the Marshal?
As a final note. it doesn’t matter whose missions you do before making the final choice. You could never do any Vigil missions and yet in the end choose Vigil to join.
Yeah, the final pick it is made clear that which ever of the 3 orders you choose for the final mission is the order you will join.
Up until that point I had been mostly going with the Order of Whispers. But after a bit of research I found that The Priory had the best looking Order armor. Also I like the idea of using silencing spells to protect the Priory while I take out Vyachaslav and the weapon.
Plus at the end of the day I went with knowledge over might and secrecy as my character looked to Raven anyway.
I learned during the first battle of Claw Island that you do what the text on the side of the screen says to do or you will never get anywhere in an instanced mission. It will just keep going and going and going.
I don’t mind Trahearne. Sure he was convinced that the attack on Fort Trinity was all about him, but as leader of the Pact, isn’t this accurate? As his second in command, an attack on me is by token an attack on him as a play to weaken his power base.
Also he is always dismissing everyone else to ask my opinion on what to do next and then does whatever I pick. It’s not like he has no idea as to what to do, but allows you to pick the individual role for yourself. After defeating the Mouth of Zhaitan he wants to go on the offensive and cut off supplies of dead bodies. There are two things to do and he asks you what part you want to do. He is a decisive leader yet is open to allowing you freedom of choice.
I think mobility is the key, which is why I have the signet slotted that removes holds, and protects against knockback, etc.
I find that when I get into trouble I need to switch to my rifle and start kiting. This gives my tier 3 healing passive regen a chance to work and keeps me out of the way of melee bad guys. When healthier, I can switch to my weapons and dive into melee.
Of course I only play PVE so my tactics may not be universally acceptable.
Norn warrior all the way.
Why do americans always feel they need special treatment ?. First of the eu servers are just as full as the na ones so the whole english speaking thing is bollocks.
This- seriously, the world does not revolve around the US.
There are people plying GW2 all over the world, it will always be someones prime time.it takes what a minute , two minutes and you are back in the game- it won’t kill you
All of the above!!
Total population of NA (Can & US) is around 360 million
Total population of EU is over 500 million …Given a similar proportion of gamers to population, EU has always had more gamers than NA.
Total population of both areas is meaningless. What is the break down between NA players and European players of GW2? That is meaningful.
If there are significantly more NA players than Europe, then prime time new builds need to stop.
Why not just try Owldottir instead?
I think this is something from PVP that found it’s way inte PVE.
Really, if I decide to run from combat, that’s when I want to run the fastest…
I would be willing to bet that sylvari are more bisexual than homosexual.
Actually if you look at the lore in viking times the chief, and pretty much only, physical trait mentioned about beautiful women is their hair. To be beautiful the hair had to be long.
Other than that you don’t get much details about other traits that were considered “hot” looking for vikings.
I got some as drops in 11-15 areas
I like how beautiful the Norn woman are. The human women all look like 12 year old anime rejects.
Norn are real women.
Same here, but then, I maxed out the height on my female toon.
Sign me up to play a kodan!
It’s because the head is too small in proportion to the rest of the body.
Yeah, I found out that scream trying to get that one View Point in Rata Sum.
I think talk of games being dead a month after launch is an indication of our culture developing a very short attention span and the rise of instant gratification.
If an MMO isn’t “perfect” at launch then the game is doomed and everyone jumps ship immediately in a self-fulfilling prophesy. Really?
It’s like no one wants to invest a little time into anything anymore.
SWTOR is a good game, but it wasn’t perfect so people jumped ship to GW2. This isn’t perfect so people are anxious to jump ship to the next shiny thing. Granted SWTOR had the SWG fans vs the KOTOR fans clashing and no one was going to be happy.
Come on people, learn some patience already.
I chose Norn because the female character looked better. The human women all looked way too young, or way too anime for my tastes.
The biggest complaint I have about the Norns is the pronunciation of “Jotun”. It should be “Yo-tun” not with a hard J like it is in the game.
If you are going to use stuff from the Norse culture, at least learn the correct way of pronouncing the word. The letter J is always has the Y sound. Jarl is Yarl, Johanson is Yohanson, etc.
But I figure if that is my biggest complaint then things are pretty good.
