Based on what we know, I’ve put some stats together.
Haven’t looked at the back braces yet, only rings and weapons.
Added all the stats from the rings (including the infusion), the new (basic) rings provide 247 in bonuses.
Adding together stats on an average exotic ring and gem, they add 227 in bonuses.
Adding together the stat on an average rare ring and gem, they add 191 in bonuses.
Meaning, the jump from exotic -> ascended is 8%, and the jump from rare -> exotic is 16%.
Weapons yield similar results, but rare -> exotic is 12% instead.
Infusions add 5 agony resist and 5 of a stat, they might be increased though, as they are only fine right now.
EDIT: Looking at the back brace, they would be 8% without the infusion slot, but the small stat bonuses on them inflates it to 15%.

As updates go along they won’t be giving them better stats, this is the same thing as exotic.What part of “new rarity” and “better stats” are you not understanding? How exactly do you think that Ascended items, which are higher in rarity and item level, are going to be identical to exotics? That defeats the purpose entirely, and it’s not even close to what they said they were doing.
I never said they were identical to exotics, I said they were a step up.
I said they will not add stronger ascended items in updates.
How do you know how long these will take to get?
You can do the new content with exotics.
That is not how the dungeons work.

But what was the point of that increase in gap? was it really needed? And if so, why?
Many of us see this as a starting point of treadmill, because there was just no tangible reason why they had to attach that +8% to ascended gear…well other than accustom us for upcoming ger upgrades aguess…
It wasn’t needed, a new rarity wasn’t needed actually.
It just isn’t nearly as big as deal as people are making it out to be.

Make karma and dungeon gear give ascended, let them sell it. Don’t make it super expensive, but make the dungeon and karma vendors sell it.
Uh that is what exotics ARE…. readily available end game gear. What exactly are you saying ascended gear would cost? And how is making you run a dungeon 50 times to get a piece fun?

This is not what I signed up for, and I will not continue to play with this addition.
Thank you for the 2.5 months of fun, totally worth the $130 spent, but I am not interested in re-gearing 4 80s after 10 weeks of play. The moment I read the first inkling of this new gear, I simply lost all desire to continue playing your game. At 550 hours, though, I still got nearly 5 hours per dollar spent, and for that THANKS!Good bye and good luck, I hope this ends up working out for you in the end.

If you NEEDED ascended to even try, it’d be impossible because we don’t get a full set right away, and you get rings in the dungeon.

Obviously when I heard about it I was upset too.

The problem is, now there’s two tiers for level 80, and there should be one.
It makes older content obsolete.
It’s easy to fix this, really simple.

Also, people should research before they post, if you needed ascended to do the dungeon, it’d be impossible because we aren’t getting the full set right away. The way the dungeon works is every time you complete it you get a stack. You can still do the content.
If they had never released this quality it’d be the same, just for exotics.
I’d just like to comment about the Beta difficulty thing…
I played first beta, the best way to describe it was getting killed and having no idea why.
If you were in a DE with a large amount of people, things could one hit you.
There’s an LFG tool you know.
I can KIND OF understand why the new halloween items (not the crate items) are so grindy.
Arenanet doesn’t want to hand out exotics. If one item was really easy to get, no one would even bother buying the others.
To fix this, they made them harder to get than normal exotics.
That’s not a very good idea then, now they’re locked for level 80s with lots of time.
The game wasn’t built around that.
You should make the item level 1, but transmutable.
1. Less grind, since you won’t be giving away good items, they won’t need to be hard to get.
2. People will need to buy fine transmutation stones, which would help arenanet.
There’s a skill that gives you 2 clones, mirror images.
If you have mirror images and deceptive evasion, getting 3 clones up is easy.
Also there are class specific buffs and debuffs.
In dungeons, bosses need a much larger “rare” drop rate.
Mesmer can’t use mainhand pistol, but they should be able to.
Skill 1 – Chaotic Shot
Applies bleed, the futher you are, the longer the applied bleed lasts.
Skill 2 – Mind Pierce
Pierces up to 3 enemies, creates a clone for every enemy pierced.
Skill 3 – Mind Marker
Applies a “Mind Marker” condition on target, illusions do 20% more damage. All summoned clones and illusions switch target to this enemy.
The holy trinity is awful and restricts a lot.
You’ve just used it so much you believe you NEED it.
They said they’d do this during beta.

SOmeone made a really REALLY OP ele build, so OP that not even they think its balanced.
When this forum discovers that, that’ll be the next one.
They have DR on the TP already, it’s called the 15% tax.
Please give us spvp gear progression. 10% difference from baseline-best.

10% in the long run would matter much more than you think it would.
Moa just needs to last shorter.
At least it isn’t like RIFT’s polymorph where you can’t do kitten while polymorphed.

It has the ability to warp onto a different piece of land, with how the landscape works, that can often be underground or in a wall.

We all like the concept of new weapons, adding new weapons from scratch.
I do, obviously I want more weapons.
But honestly, from a time standpoint, I think giving other classes weapons that they can’t use would be more logical.
I mean, look at the work it would take to add 1 weapon type into the game.
- Design, gotta come up with a design for the base weapon.
- Gotta do concept art for each set, each cultural, zone and dungeon set. (This will increase as time goes)
- Modelling, have to model each of these concept images and texture them.
- Coding for particles, certain weapons have particles (legendaries)
- Crafting, each weapon (and legendary) needs crafting recipes.
- Rigging, coding the position. etc
- Coming up with and balancing skills.
I know a new weapon would be more interesting, but giving classes existing weapons would give us more skills in less time.
What would you rather have?
Played game for 3-4 weeks got 100% map / best items /did all dungeons all paths except arah/max crafting all that was left to do was pvp/farming boring dungeons. Didnt log in bout 2 weeks now…

I’ve been seeing people saying that GW2 is more “WoW-ified” than GW1.
I still don’t see that though, I’ve played both games.
The ways that GW1 was different was the combat system (GW2 is also different), the skill system (GW2 is also different), the world system (GW2 is also different) and the quest/mission system (GW2 is also different) also PvP.

Also, I’ve been saying this since before beta, it’s an evolution not a revolution. Almost every mechanic it takes, it makes better.
The DE system is much better than RIFT’s.
The combat system is much better than DCUO’s.

It’s still easy to get exotics.
It’s really not a mod.
It’s a macro, but not a bot.
But all the macro does is hold down right click.

Endgame is what you do when you finish the linear content in the game. (storyline, levelling)
Same goes for any game.
