Getting dishonour after disconnect.

During PvP I got a DC. Now, normally i get kicked back to character selection screen when that happens. This time i got a black screen though. I had to exit GW2 via task manager, decided not to log back in for 10 mins to not let my teammates lose a pip.

I log back in, BAM, dishonoured. Any explenation? kinda annoying….

I actually am a huge fan of #2 Especially the Sword and Shield. Not so sure what the telescope would be good for, seeing as if you’re gonna scout you wouldn’t tag up.

And #3 sounds not half bad.

Dunno about those other 2, but wouldn’t mind either.

Why wouldn’t you tag up as a scout? Our players are encouraged to tag up if they scout, a lot easier for the commanders as well.

OT: I like most of your ideas, I dislike the idea of purchasing T6 and stuff like that for it though, mainly for the same reason you stated.

I’m going to have to agree with random. If this is a bug then anet needs to come here and make an announcement.

You can’t argue that it’s common sense that people should know it’s a bug because look at the absolute stupidity of this event. Common sense tells me giving golems the super charge buff and making them cost zero supply is moronic. If they are going to let that happen in WvW this week then who can say what is a bug and what’s not?

How do you get the bug again? That very action indicates it is a bug, that is common sense. Common sense has nothing to do with the event as a whole.

Then they should start banning the people who even started to whine about this on the main forums, because many of them have been explaining how the exploit is done. Let’s not even forget the plethora of bugs in the past that were exploited and never resulted in bans.

They could be, yes :-p. I’m saying people that are exploiting could be banned, not that they should be. I think Anet wants people to mail them bugs and stuff anyways exactly for that reason, that they don’t want more people become aware of it.

But yeah, I was merely trying to talk some sense into people arguing that this isn’t an exploit, which it clearly is. It could get you banned, Whether or not you will be depends on Anet.

The logic some people have here….

It is a bug and it is being abused. Anet does not have to respond in any way in order to make that clear. I belive it is in their code of conduct somewhere but i am far too lazy to look up the actual qoute. I’m not saying it’s not Anets fault, but arguing you can abuse it by stating a) players aren’t in the wrong cause Anet isn’t doing anything about it or b) stating you’re not aware that it is a bug, is just plain stupid.

Don’t lie to yourself, you guys are fully aware Anet didn’t intend this. On top of that normally Anet is slow as kitten when it comes to these kind of topics and probably doesn’t care much about WvW anyways.

Anyhow, there is a qoute in the code of conduct that explains that abusing this bug could possibly lead to a ban, this is not the first time this sort of thing happened. I will try and look it up.

Don’t be so harsh. I’m currently in a server that was perfect at prime before, only small and short queue’s, just like yours. Now, if people aren’t 30 minutes early they’re stuck in queue for well over an hour. Yesterday we had over 6 people disconnect and quitting the raid because they couldn’t get back in. We had more people suffering from lag and high ping than any other day. Clearly, it’s not working. Normally over 80 people fit in a map, Yesterday with rough estimates it was around 60, that’s a hell of a difference.

And again, different opinions mate, we’re quite a mature guild and if people can’t play when they get home from work, why play the game at all?

What he is doing IS working actually, because it reduced/made better a lot of the problems that arose with the “fix” they introduced shortly after the stab patch…. and it’s still a work in progress.

There is no point in whinning about the fact that “it’s not working perfectly RIGHT NOW” when he is dead in the middle of working on it and trying to pinpoint the (numerous) problems….

And pretending it was “perfect” before, let me laugh, even on T7/8 there was regular occurences of massive lag spikes leading to random disconnects, whole borderland that were naught unplayable for whole match ups, and so on and so on, regularily for the past year or more……

The problem with your state of mind and how you behave is that it’s a whole “don’t touch anything, it’s broken as Hell but we are use to it, and we will burn you on a stake if you try anything to make things better if that means a few days of things being worse…..”, and that’s the worst possible stand.

Even with reduced map cap, the things were BETTER than after the “segregation” of WvW servers post Stab patch….. and now they are far better again, nearly back to normal, and we might even see improvements later if he can manage that.

I don’t know for you, but i’m fine with 4/5 days of turmoil for that result and find it silly as Hell people whinning it’s not getting better “fast enough” to their taste like you do, on top of being totally counterproductive.

I was talking about queue’s being perfect not the lag. Where the hell do you get all these accusations from anyways? Read my post again, i’m merely talking about the map cap, no where do I state I do not like what Stephen is doing. I’m very thankfull someone is looking into it and I understand it takes time and different approaches. How in the world do you know what my mindstate is?

Please try to read what people post a bit more and don’t get so salty…

Map cap is not raised at all Stephen. Again 3 guilds of us weren’t complete with people being stuck in queue for over an hour, even though we have really small and fast queue’s normally.

Having disconnects the last 3 weeks as well. Recently it became much much worse. Whenever i load into a hub (LA, HotM) i get an instant DC. In other zones it takes 30 seconds longer…

Game is unplayable, tried reinstalling, didn’t work. My internet is normal, other games work normally (even GW1)

Description: I used to be able to play for like 30 mins on a non populated map, now i get an instant kick back to the character selection screen. I’m getting different kinds of error codes.

Submitted a ticket yesterday, i ran all the tests and this was the reply i got from support

’’Hello,

Thank you very much for the information as this does appear to show the issue you are having.

According to this report, your connection is suffering from packet loss. If you are not familiar with this term, it simply means the loss of data while in transit from point A (your computer) to point B (our servers). What this means is that either not enough information was received by our servers, the information that was received was corrupted, or it wasn’t sent at all.

So how does this affect you?

In-game: The game is trying to adjust your position to your last known location or attempting to re-send that data over and over, but too much is being lost in transmission. Now, because Guild Wars 2 is a client/server setup, the server is always considered right (this is a security measure to prevent cheating/hacking). Thus, the game is forced to adjust your location to where the server last thought you were. This causes your character or NPC’s to “snap back” or “rubberband” between the two sets of information (one set from your client, another from the server). Since they are fighting (in a manner of speaking) over who is right, your character or NPCs will appear to teleport back and forth while this “fight” for control happens. Then, if not enough data is received over time, the game will likely disconnect you because it thinks you are no longer active.

Installing and/or updating: In terms of installation or updating the game client, the data being sent to patch your client is becoming corrupted if it arrives, or simply not arriving at all. This prevents you from obtaining the patch files intact. Thus, the download either has to keep retrying over and over to get valid data, or it simply errors out and stops the installation if enough attempts to get the information fail.

Because the loss of data is happening prior to it reaching our game servers, you will need to contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance. I would highly recommend sending them these results so they can visually see the issue you are suffering from.

Update:

I only get it in PvE and PVP. In WvW so far, i’ve had no problems at all.

Edit: To bad i can only play during off-time cause when there is even a tiny queue, i get kicked before i make it in :-(

I have the same issue as well. As the OP stated, i can play for 10 mins tops before it kicks me back to the character selection screen. Then if i try to play again it kicks me out after 1 minute.

GW2 is unplayable for me at the moment due to this error :-(

I’ve never had problems before by the way, for me this error started like 3 days ago

This week annoys me so much already. Random guilds suddenly claiming/buffing/upgrading stuff, commanders popping out of nowhere, people discussing how to get a vista in map chat, etc. I think it annoys me because i know that when we face ’’better’’ servers it won’t be like this. All those people now in WvW will be doing CoF P1 again….

Sorry, I misread. However, now I fail to see your point. OP says they are bad for small guilds. You say they are fine for a big guild but I think most people already know that. Are you suggesting what the devs have been suggesting? Get more people?

Didn’t even think of that. I’m only talking abut legendary’s btw, maybe that would still be manageable? I agree Anet needs to focus more on details than putting out temporary content aswell. Actually i’m getting tired of all the temporary stuff they’ve been putting around. It’s just same kitten different day with the achievements. I get that Anet wants you to keep playing the game but they need to realise that temporary stuff won’t fix that in the long run…

I don’t entirely agree. I always use crafting to gain levels, would be a bummer if it wasn’t possible anymore. Same goes with PoI’s and Vista’s, I enjoy those way more than heart quests and they give a nice chunk of exp aswell.

I do want the WvW ranks to be shared though, that’s just silly :-p

This is a harmless, silly and fun idea. I can see why maybe letting you name it ANYthing might be bad haha, but hey, what if you could “personalize” a weapon, like in Diablo. it could read “Wartna’s Twilgiht.”

Too bad I have a Sunrise :-p

But I agree, it could be abused easily, but isn’t itt the same way as with character names? I know Anet only responds to reports about inappropriate names, I don’t think they actively search for them.

What I think would be cool is the ability to name your legendary weapon. Right now a lot of people have a legendary already, some even more than 1. To make it more unique/personal I thought it would be nice to attach a name to your weapon. Maybe make a ticket for it wich costs 1g or w/e. Just a quick idea ^^

But i understand your frustration: I also would be frustated, loosing all match-ups since weeks (and i also would look to find reasons on all others and not on my extreme skilled playstyle).

Haha, i’m not saying this after i got defeated. We just killed a group of 10 with 5 of us and a group of 20 with 10 of us. I’m stating it’s sad that you need atleast twice our numbers to defeat us. That’s just sad and yes, we had bad matchups lately. Thing is though, Piken did show some skills. You lack it completely.
Btw, where do I state that I blame others for losing? i’m not even talking about the match up in general. We lack numbers, we have a lot of pugs that don’t listen. There, want a cookie now?

1, They will implement it sooner or later, it would just look silly if they didn’t
2, No, there is already to much kitten going on in your screen. Also means less visible animations wich can cause issues in PvP. Also a graphics issue ofcourse.
3, No, they’re fine as they are… If they would get any bigger PvP would be a MESS. 2 minion masters and you would never hit a player again.

I guess that all medium/small guilds have problems with it, I agree that it needs work.

You can avoid the whole wurm area by walking on the ledges and isn’t the whole point of guild missions to have people cooperate?

Why not just send 4-5 dudes to the village to clear a path for the runners?

The problem is that even those not participating in the event make the events scale up. If you have a HUGE guild, you can have 20 people doing the event. If you have a guild where 15 people show up for the mission, and half those people are protecting, you still have events scaling up for 15 people (not only the half that are protecting).

We split up and DID the events….but the fact is, the events took a lot longer because they were scaled for people in crab from as well as people trying to do them.

You don’t have to do the events, just lure the mobs out of the way ^^

The problem is that there are too many sissies on our server, stop playing and flooding the forum with their tears.
The new matchup system is fine. You still can have enough fun and with the new rating system you dont have to win such a matchup to have a positive outcome.

I do agree there are a lot of kitten on FSP. That is not the reason why we’re ’’crying’’ though. for example, we have NOTHING in EB right now. Everytime we try to take something Pikens zerg come’s in and kittens us up. We can’t take ANYTHING cause they will just woop in and wipe us. Because of that more and more players are leaving WvW, maybe for good. I don’t find that in any way challenging, positive or fun.

Me neither, assomeone already said downed state brings another twist to the table. You have to learn when to stomp, with how many to stomp and maybe to just kill the guy who is ressing the downed guy. Don’t know how it is in hotjoin though.

With how many people are you trying to do it? We have a big guild so on sunday we have like 20-25 people per bounty, on friday we usually have around 5-10 per bounty. (friday being the day for the people who couldn’t mke it on sunday). Usually it goes fine with both days, howeverwe do use TS and we’ve done bounty since the reales, so maybe it’s a matter of experience aswell

The subject was posted elswhere but I think it fits here best now.

Mission control isn’t working properly, if it is, it lacks use. Right now in my guild [eMoa] everyone can activate missions, not in the guild tab but the actual missions in the zone’s. This is quite a problem since we’re a big guild. We always tell people not to start it but it always happens, even though nobody with mission control touched it. As a result people miss out on guild missions or we haven’t discussed or explained tactics, etc.

I agree, we had Karka rush sunday. Eventually we were able to get everyone in but it took us almost the whole 30 minutes.

Also, 2 rushes conflict with each other. If you activate a rush on an overflow, and activate it 15 minutes later in the ‘’real world’‘, the one in the ’’real world’’ will fail in 15 minutes. Instead of the original 30, after those15 minutes it won’t show the event anymore. However, if you try to do another one, let’s say 5 minutes after you started the last one, it will end in 10 minutes. Probably because the other one said it was finished but didn’t register, even though the event was gone. So that’s another problem, I tried to explain it as simple as possible :-p

I agree with you, I also did the math and even questioned myself if it was correct :-p. I was going to makea post about it but since march is supposed to be the big WvW update, I waited. Hopefully they’re gonna change it in this update, if not, RAAAAGEEEE :-p

The numbers aren’t reasonable but there’s no point to fixing them as long as achievement points are meaningless.

I don’t really care that achievement points don’t do anything, I just want them to ‘’show of’’ to my friends :-p

Yes please, people may change their main charracter. Also, themore you play your main, the more you get to know it’s different playstyle’s, different playstyle’s require different weps. You may end up only using your legendary because it’s a legendary even though it doesn’t fit you playstyle.

Well we did T1 wednesday, and T2 yesterday, 24 hours did pass between them but i didn’t get another reward. Some people didn’t recieve any reward so they are a bit buggy i guess. I talked to some DIE guys, who did a couple of them aswell and they got only 2 commendations aswell….

Congrats! Our guild (eMoa) has done T1 and T2 now, we’re gonna do T3 tonight probably :-) We had Tarban aswell in T2, killed her with like 50 people, kitten kept putting stacks of 22 confusion on us XD

You get 25 merits from it, it’s not cumulative so you need to do T3 to get the full 25 merits, you can’t do T1 2 times for 15 points each.
And no, you can only get 2 commendations a week from bounty’s, doesn’t matter which tier and you only have to kill one boss.

why some people have trouble with jp/wvw

This. Also, some named areas are in the JPs, and if you can’t do the JP, then you don’t get the map credit. I can’t do most of the JPs because they make me dizzy and nacreous. This means I can never get 100% World Map completion.

I’m pretty sure you still can get 100% world completion, the thing you’re reffering to is something different. Getting all named areas is a different achievement, like ‘’Maguuma Explorer’‘. Don’t think WvW maps count, just like dungeon maps

Unfortunately, at least 1 vista is located at the end of a jumping puzzle. So you literally must complete the puzzle in order to get 100% map completion. Also, the WvW maps do count, and they can be a real pain to complete.

sigh You don’t understand, i’m not saying WvW vista’s, PoI’s, etc don’t count for 100%. I’m saying getting all named places doesn’t count, by lack of better explanation, here an example: if you walk in a undiscovered, grey bit of a map, some words pop up and you get some experience. That are the areas i mean, that counts to another achievement. I thought Kitty was reffering to WvW JP’s only, my bad

No you shouldn’t make every boss ‘’doable with any build’‘. Would make the game boring as hell. Try to lean the mechanics and tactics of a certain boss. I agree Simin is hard for the first time, however once you get to know her she’s kitten easy. If you lack DPS you can always get another char, maybe some guildie is in a helpfull mood and will lend his DPS class for 5 minutes.
