Strange, I hold my shield clipping through my arm (male charr, used Shaman ‘’ shield, and Invaders shield from WvW)
I haven’t payed attention to shield while it’s holstered on my back, but I may explain why it appears floating for some: there are a couple chest pieces that are bulkier.

A Guide to Custom Playlists
A couple playlist compilations
I would still run most of them fractals if the rewards were cosmetic. Why? Because they are genuinly fun (alltough the swamp is unnecessaryly difficult without mesmer portals).
I very enjoy the ‘Asura and kitten golems’ dungeon, the stairs was reminding me of playing guitar hero in reverse XD and the golems death sounds was just too cute to be real.
I also enjoy the siege of ascalon (I think), ascending the ranks of the flame legion and thus changing appearance while having WvW castle siege feel to the whole thing, also enjoy the color theme there, but that’s cause I’m a sucker for reds and orange shades.
The Giant trapped in the cliffside is also a very fun one, despite that I got knocked off the bridge by the wind and died cause I managed to hit the cliffside often enough to shatter my skull XD
In short, each fractal has one or more interesting mechanics to them which makes them much more enjoyable then your basic dungeon dodge and slap things, most requireing team coordination (dredge fractal is a good example here). The environments are also very taught out and interesting, it’s worth to take a moment and take it all in (if the mechanics aren’t trying to kill you atm). They also seem shorter then the average dungeon provided you know what to do.

No repair from falling to death, but if a mob was hitting you even once before death, you pay. It becomes annoying when you die from teleporting after you were already killed from a mob, it’s like he was hitting me miles away just to grief.
And longcoats tend to clip horribly with Charr tails… A-net sure made themselves alot of work with that decision.
I remember them being a pain in the backside when I was trying to commune with a place of power. all around acolytes, every time I killed off the closest ones the next farthest away comes along and says ‘HI, Missed me?’, ofc even as a greatsword wielding killing machine I couldn’t kill them fast enough, respawn was like 10-20 seconds -.-. Now if they wouldn’t be aggroing from miles away I might not have a reason to complain.
Then you have graveling burrows in AC Dungeon where it is VERY important that those get hacked away as fast as possible, sadly with a melee weapon(greatsword) the only way I can hit those things is while I’m constantly running back and forth over the burrrow.
Fallen tree roadblocks have the same issue (snowden drifts has a load of them), centaur supply carts seem to only have a singular POINT at which I can effectively hack away while standing still(which is directly ontop of them). Thankfully the very tall catapults(trebuchets) seem to be working fine from all angles.
Playing as a charr ranger having issues with armor all the time, in this particular case:
Noble Coat (from leather crafting) clipping with tail and the Shiverpeak Hatchet,
Noble Shoulders (also from crafting) floating over shoulders for no apparent magical reason.
Most of the armor on Charr is horribad, there are a few exceptions but otherwise just plain humancrafted stuff. Helms (aside from Cultural) look like it was made for humans and got strapped on, most skirts clip horribly with tail(and making me look fat), trenchcoats ofc clip also all the time, Boots don’t look any good but that’s the least of our problems.
Sadly I don’t see these getting fixed anytime soon with the artteam being busy for Halloween and later Christmass this year.
@Gurubu, we do have 1 combo field, it’s F1 from longbow fire, add this with longbow skill 3(blast finisher) and you have a might boon on everyone in range. If the warrior isn’t complete glasscannon spec then you don’t need lidicrous healing (you can pull off a non glasscannon GS spec with minimal dps loss for better survivability). There might be a few bosses that are complete melee unfriendly, but most are managable if you know when to dodge/block.
Back on topic, Dungeon setup: Guildies. Always run with guildies, they listen, they give tipps, strategies and should be more tolerant to newbs(me most of the time) and explain what to expect. As long you are capable of listening and learning(switching up your traits and skills as necessary) and expect the others do aswell then you are good to go.
Some toggle options I would like to see:
1, Tone down Spell Effects. Example: Fire skills, Burning Condition on mobs, Mesmer skills (these I have noticed boggle my fps down, in WvW it gets worse)
1.2, Tone down OTHER PLAYERS Spell Effects, cause we do like spell effects, especially our own.
2, Disable Fog. Now I realize this is an atmosphere changer, but foggy areas tend to reduce my fps soo much that I(and others) experience (fps)lag. The only good fog I came across is in the Godlost Swamp in Queensdale.
There are specific areas that have FPS problems, and it usually only takes 1 step back and forth to see the difference in performance, there is a Compilation Thread in the Bug Forums.
WvW has a problem where enemy player models/skins don’t get loaded, including their names if you have ‘show enemy names’ enabled, which resulted in my untimely death due to not being aware of a zerg approaching (mind you I was looking in the direction they were comming from too), while all the time I was able to see my allies.
Generally I don’t have too many problems enjoying the game on medium settings with a stable 45 fps avarega, but when I come across a hurdle it’s no less annoying.
It kind of ruins the FOG OF WAR feeling.
Transumting to lvl 20 crafted light armor (I love the scarf around my middrift as a charr, pants even comes with a tail hole)
Agreed on low quality loot from chests and champs are very dissapointing, events that involve champions and bosses have dissapointing rewards too. Don’t get me wrong, the dragon boss fights I enjoy(including the shadow behemoth), but the reward is like doing any other soloable DE.
We could use a distinguishing between Group and Soloable Events in Karma/Exp/Coin return.
Same 1-5*2 skills sure, but in group play, have you tought about all the possible combos you can pull off, what about utility skills which can make a whole world of difference in combat? don’t forget the traits, there are very interesting traits in each line that add to the combat mechanics and all of a sudden you mirror arrows in young adventurers kneecaps, Stand up from your dieing bed and show kitten what steel looks like up close(and live to fight another day)…etc. The combat may look simple on 1st glance, but there is alot more to it if you care to look deeper.
I’m a fan of the signet/GS in solo play, but never ever use all 5 signets. There are situations where I want “Shake it off” or “Great Justice” or even “Fear me!”, Usually running with two shouts in a group, a Healing Signet (passive heal is very nice btw), Signet of Rage and the Precision signet, any more is just not worth it. If the boss is plain melee unfriendly I still have a longbow to dish out blindness, root and a fire combo field.
But yeah, it’s a high damage, glass cannon, If the player doesn’t know the encounter and thus not avoiding the damage he/she will die alot.
You do know what is Ironic about this character? He is a Nercomancer…. tasked to kill a Necromantic/undead dragon… never mention how annoying his hijacking of the spotlight is.
I would have loved more action with my Iconic Race leader instead of being babysitter for a inpromptu <insert random uninteresting character here> guy.
The story was alot more interesting and enjoyable before the Tree entered the show.

<Bump> Cause I would love to costumize the city music at least… Charr City is miles different from Rata Sum.
Thanks for the guide, I didn’t know how the randomizing worked until I read this.
Love it, can’t wait what you write up with the soundtracks of Dragon age
Does any1 else ever notice that some items if you try to sell on the trading post are getting lower offered prices then the actual vendor sell value? I get this with armor and weapons past lvl 20… I was under the impression that you can’t bid lower then vendor price +1 copper. It may have something to do with the fact that different lvl items of the same type have the same name.
Getting Onions from Scallions, Carrots from Root Vegetables, Peppercorn from any non tier 1 Herb node. It gets increasingly annoying as you advance in higher level zones with all sort of Herb Nodes that aren’t specified to drop only one material (besides dandelions).
It’s like gathering Copper Ore from Platinum nodes using your high cost gathering tool.
Aside from that we see a shortage of Vanilla, Oregano, Orange, Clover…etc. to the point where BLTC prices for those go over 1-3s (Vanilla is in fact a tier 1 material, which makes no sense).
We need some sort of normalisation on these herb nodes, in their current state it’s a very bad gamble.
Too much butter! I took up cooking now but I still have too much butter, chocolate is OK.
There have been some pretty good ideas in this discussion and throwing mine in the mix:
1) a) New crafting material=Cocoa Beans < chopped from trees alongside wood
b) Make Chocolate from Cocoa Beans and Milk
(Removing Chocolate from bags and thus freeing up percentage for other crafting mats)
2) a) Make Butter from Milk as we do make Ingots from Ore
(Remove Butter from Bags for other crafting materials)
3) a) Jute&Cotton are definetly a plant product, any chance of adding it to appropriate plant loot tables?
b) Wool is definetly from Sheep and Dolyak, any chance of adding those to their loot table in the appropriate lvl zones?
c) Silk is commonly made by Worms(Grubs) and Spiders, any chance of adding those to the loottable in appropiate lvl zones?
4)There aren’t enough Vanilla beans, I get tired of harvesting carrots from tier 2 plants when I have an actual carrot plant in tier 1, I’m sure there are more such letdowns when it comes to harvesting plants but this one was the 1st comming to mind.
5) Supply carts in Gendarran fields actually contain crafting loot(most commonly food), why does no other supply cart in any other place not contain any supply then? I like these scattered bags and supply chest things in the world, time to expand on it.
6) Leather is hard to come by, any chance of increasing drop rates for hides in addition to the fine crafting material drop chance from appropiate monsters?
7) We love loot, thus we love multiple loot drops from one monster, it doesn’t need to be insane, just a % drop that doesn’t rule out another % drop :P
8) Do you guys ever notice that no matter how high tier the bag, when it drops copper it is a beggars amount(1-4 copper)? It doesn’t feel right at all.
I love the game, I love the discovery part of crafting, but currently there is too much farming involved to get the mats right now.
Caer Evermore in Timberline Falls has low fps, it’s the fog effect in particular that’s causing this for me there.
Go to Timberline Falls, half of the DEs in that area are bugged not to mention the Hearts, I had the feeling there was no Q&A in that map.
That’s because the meta event is currently playing in that part of the area, when the Krait aren’t trying to quagnap the villagers it shows up again.
I have the same issue, sometimes the sell/buy doesn’t work, usually happens when I 1st start up the game for the day. What I do is, play around a bit then relog the whole game and it suddenly works again…
My Charr warrior keeps yelling “Adrenaline rising” when it’s going down. The problem is in the activation factor of the shout, it seems to be triggered when your adrenaline is reaching a certain point on the meter, not taking into account if it goes up or down.
Seems to be happening to everybody, notice it occurs when your chars feet land in different heights or plain simply remain in falling animation after the jump. Imagine my kitten is getting neutered all the time he lands with a scream.
the gold price for set items is ridonculous for one reason, Trading post being down for so long. But even then, some of those are way over-priced.
