I bought the quiver and tried using it on my 33 bracer from Personal Story and it only turned into a brace that did not show (at least in preview). Did a bug report and got another quiver. Now I’m afraid to use it because I’m not sure what I need to use it on to make it “work”. Any help would be appreciated.
AVG firwall was blocking everything, duh! I have reinstalled game and everything seems to be working. Thanks.
REMEMBER TO CLOSE THE FIREWALL, PEOPLE!
I double click the GW2Setup.exe get a pop up to “run or cancel” and I hit run and the launch screen pops up and starts to download and I it almost immediately says “download fails” I have Windows7.
I couldn’t get Trading Post to work, so I decided to uninstall the game and reinstall it. However, I can’t seem to find a way to do that without buying a new game. Is there a place I can go to reinstall the game?
You can’t sell any items no matter which bag it’s in. You also can’t buy anything as the screen won’t load, and you can’t see what you have already put on the market. It’s been several days now.
Guess cause I’m an old person and with windows 7 and I can’t find how to get to the directory for GW2.
I would like to suggest a Repair button on the the launcher to help resolve any corruptions that may occur, especially like the Trading Post bug that some people are experiencing now in the game, and any other future corruptions of downloading or updating the game.
How do you do “repair”?
I’d like if we could see our feet, insead of having them cut off by the alt line.
No, it’s NOT resolved, even logging completely out of game and back does nothing. This is making me very frustrated.
Ghhhha I’ve had this problem since yesterday and /bugged it. Still nothing.
When designing a guild emblem I would like to have the option of rotating the main icon by 8ths. I like my design, but would really like it more if I could rotate it so it would add more interest to the overall design.
I love that you can be a cub, they’re so cute.
Every game I’ve played they always seem to ruin PvE by trying to balance PvP/World. They really should be on different skill sets, and since you can do World at a very low level, that shouldn’t be a problem for learning your skill sets.
I soloed on my 21 mesmer, but I died some, but I kept at it and managed to complete them.
No pix for leather?
Thanks, SilveryBeing5082, for that. I looked for her to talk with, and she had disappeared. This must be a bug, because there’s nothing revealing in her conservation that would be considered a spoiler. At least we have closure with your post.
She suggests that you go back and talk to the only survivor…did you do that?
After reading on the forums last night, then getting to see Rox in game, I think she looks just fine, and I didn’t notice her looking “strange” at all. I liked the look, and if we have more facial options in the future, I’m all for it. As a younger kitten look it was pretty spot on, but I think her voice should have been younger to go with the look.
OMG! If GW2 even had half of that it would be awesome. Love how they ended the video…“remember, the devs are listening”
I’ve noticed the culling in PvE is getting terrible. In Lions Arch I walk a few steps and people pop up. The place looks empty, but as you move around you see people popping in and out…it’s awful. Even when our guild gathers in out of way spots, depending which way you turn, people are popping and disappearing. Not fun at all.
I’ve found in so many games that the PvP “balancing” ruins the PvE game play. I hate seeing it do the same in this game. I wish they were totally separate.
I would love to have our own names, titles, and guild name displayed. What is the point of having cool titles that you can’t even enjoy? I also like to be reminded what guild I’m representing.
That would be nice, or an orange shaded area on the map.
I wish. Even as the downed player, knowing help is on the way would be a boon.
I guess this is more a suggestion so I’m putting it here.
I was out questing and I came across a dead soldier and I healed her. I was attacked and was defeated right next to her. She killed other mobs, but neglected to rez me. This seems counter to the expected AI, at least to me. If a friendly NPC is that close, it seems proper that they should rez; or am I depriving a player of the privilage?
Southwest corner and when you head that way go slight left, it’s a new area and LOTS of ghost….good spot for Veterns.
I’m not sure how this prevents undercutting, as most items sell at or just below the vendor price when AN takes out it’s cut. It’s the clueless I guess, that lose 1c or more they would make selling their item to a vendor instead of listing on the Trading Post.
Yep, weapon and armor skins. Costume clothes that you can wear in combat and “collection storage” for them, and you’d have a ton of sales. It boggles my mind that they haven’t come up with this on their own.
I won’t buy keys, unless they are cheap, and I mean cheap
Actually it was the promise of housing that drew my interest in GW2 in the first place, and believe me, I am looking at other games and one of my top perks is housing.
hmmm it’s more like a generic “Yes?”
He should remember me, and greet me as his own, anything else is sloppy story telling. And since he’s in a bar, he could at least offer to buy me a drink.
I did the quest for a personal story as a Charr, the end result was my father is now residing in the Hero’s Canton. So I went to Hero’s Canton to visit him. Guess what? He didn’t even recognize me!? The least a good story design would be that he would remember his own cub who has just saved his life. Very unhappy with this.
Decline in housing? No, more only a few MMOs that had it, and the ones that did not I just considered “lazy”. To give players a world to experience, and have them all homeless is a design flaw as far I’m concerned. NPCs have homes, even animals and other creatures have caves and holes, only players are excluded…..I find that odd and incomplete.
Huh? No, Anet never even hinted that it would be in the game by now, or at release or anytime soon. They said they would very much like to do it and it’ll most likely happen down the road – no timetable at all.
Proof otherwise?
House System
Most MMORPGs don’t pay attention to players’ houses, but Guild Wars 2 does. All players have a house respectively in their capital after their characters were born and their house is connected with their personal biography. What’s interesting is that characters of different personalities will have distinct houses. Things inside the house are defined by players and character attributes. As long as players play the game all the time, their house will have inside changes constantly. Furthermore, the game offers abundant house ornaments and players can also gain rich booty in the adventurous journey to decorate their house. In a word, players are able to create their unique house by means of item combinations.Ree Soesbee: Your home instance (which consists of an area about the size of a city block, within your character’s racial city, where you have the racial equivalent of a house – a lab, for the asura, for example – several streets, some merchant’s areas, and other city-like things) will reflect your character’s victories, their accomplishments, and the people they meet in the game.
We will introduce player housing at some point after launch, and at that time we will also implement guild halls.

These! Especially the first one was got me so excited for GW2 and like the “Manifesto” it pretty much was ignored and pushed to the side. I remember during BWE when we could grow plants for dyes, and that was taken out, too. The Personal Instance just deterioted. <sad face>
In EQ2 one of the fun parts of having a house, is to show off. I loved visting other people’s homes to see what they did with them. You could tell where in the world these people had been and what quests they’d completed by the items displayed.
Acutally it’s been shown that housing improves retention rather than driving people away.
Guild Halls in EQ2 is what made populations disappear in the towns because guild halls had all the amenities of the town and there was no reason to use the ones in the cities. I would strongly suggest that amenities be limited in guild halls to things like whole party transporters for guild groups. And, yes, I have to agree in DAoC housing did affect towns because housing was not intergrated in the towns and had their own out of the way locations, and if you wanted to purchase from a player, you had to go to their house to buy. Nice for the people selling, not so great for the people buying; and definately caused a population depetion in towns.
A well intergrated housing system that works with cities are the way to go.

I would love housing EQ2 style, which Rift housing is based off being they hired Emily Taylor from EQ2 to do Rift. In EQ2 you didn’t have to build your house from scrath, though and I like that.
To me, Divinity’s Reach is ready made for personal and guild housing, just have to make all those doorways into instances. Would certainly open up for crafters to make house items, and things to sell on the gem store.
My only real complaint, is that I was directed to talk to the refugees. I greet them, and all I get is: “yes”, what do you want/get lost type comments, or grunts. I was expecting some stories, reactions, hints. At least on the road when I healed some of them, they were greatful, but others just rude like the merchants with their beasts. None seemed to have ANYTHING of any interest to tell me; it’s very discouraging to feel any real impathy for them.
Please let each new update note have it’s own Topic setting. Hiding updates in old topics is a horrible way to keep your player base informed of changes. Like today’s note, March 15th

“Hoodies? Really? What’s next…….Nike and Sketchers shoes? Talk about breaking immersion. It just seems as if Anet is just wildly shooting in the dark with no real direction” Villious 8530
Actually my Elly’s shoes look like athletic shoes, including the logo depending on how it’s colored. So, they are already in the game.
Names I know from real life, most having seen birth certificates:
Chris Cross
Lemonjello (pronounced Lee-manj-ge-lo)
Orangejello (pronounced On-ge-lo)
Human Klumpp
Human Klumpp Jr
Delicious Peters
Female (pronounced Fem-mall-lee)
Prince of Wales (“of” being the middle name)
A baby named with 26 consokittenand an “i” in the middle, when asked how to pronounce it, the mother said, something like “Kid”, and asked how she got that from all those letters, she said the rest were silent. Poor kid.
These are real life names, so I guess in a game, you can have some odd ones, too.
One person wisely said in another forum in another game, “at least it lets me know who to avoid.”
On ther other hand, some give me a laugh, others an eye roll, and at times I tell my mom, “someone named themselves <insert name here>”, and we’ll share a funny face at each other.
If I could use these as armor skins, I’d be more interested in buying “town” clothes; until then, not a cent.
I thought it was excessive; 3 at most should be the limit.
Actually, I like it.
The amount you can use chat is absurbly low before suppression kicks in. I’ve even been suppressed for excessive chat, when it was first time I chatted that day; go figure. Tonight I was suppressed for putting waypoints in chat for events that popped in an area I was scouting, so my posts were about 10-15 minutes apart.
That’s very misleading if it’s true. Projected profit should be exactly what it says including ANY fees.
There is a sidebar on the left side of the crafting window with a bag and little squares, you can click on these and see what are in your bank bags, and with the little squares you can see what you have in your crafting ingredients sections. It really is very convienent.
Yes, a wardrobe section, and a way to skin town clothes over armor.
My belief is that when there are no more discoveries to be made with that ingredient, it doesn’t show up anymore.
