Ugh, don’t believe this – I was only crafting it because it had the same theme/colours of the fractal weapon skins, so kinda wasted a ton of gold and time on crafting unbound :/

I’m still hopeful that eventually they might give us a way to give the backpiece the same colour theme as the golden fractal weapons though, even if it is hideously expensive ^^

So I’ve been crafting Juggernaut, finally finished The Colossus a few days ago, so all I need now are the dreaded silver doubloons… I’ve been farming them for 4 months with 6 lvl 21 toons in sharkmaw, but I only have 32. If anyone could donate me some I would appreciate it loads!

Also, if you’re having any trouble with the final mission – just do it with some friends or advertise on lfg, I don’t know anyone who’s soloed it.

It’s hardly the end of the world, and besides, when HoT comes out one of those dailies will probably become ‘X and Revenant Winner’ rather than ‘X and Engineer Winner’, just be patient

Just a quick lore question, since all 6 gods have avatars, I was wondering if we were ever told who, or what, Abaddon’s avatar was? I always thought it was a Margonite, but I can’t find anything on the wiki’s. Was just thinking it would be cool if we ever meet it, perhaps it might have survived Abaddon’s war with the other gods. ^^

So I’m heading off to Uni in just over 10 days, so I’ll have to play GW2 on my laptop, I’ve always kept my graphics settings on an absolute minimum and I’ve been able to participate in a lot of zergy stuff – although my fps often can go down the toilet. But with the upcoming release of HoT I’m a little worried because just standing around in LA with min. graphics my fps if often about 10, so I’m quite anxious about the expansion.

So I checked out the minimum system requirements for HoT and found out that my laptop doesn’t meet one – my processor is 1.90 GHz, whilst HoT will need 2.0 GHz minimum.

I don’t have the funds to buy a new laptop, and I’m assuming I can’t swap in a better graphics card because it’s a laptop, so does anyone know effective programmes or ways to optimise my laptop graphics settings for gw2? I really want to be able to fully participate in HoT at Uni!

So in pvp i main a S/P Thief, with pistol whip/steal being my main method of burst and i rely on stealth for survivability, i trait into crit strikes, trickery and deadly arts.It’s never been the best build, but I’ve always found it really fun.
When the patch came, I thought it was getting a buff because of the buffs to stealing, but ever since the patch I’ve felt alot glassier – mesmers, guards and warriors have been taking me out with 1 or 2 hits so if my first burst fails and my stealth skills are on cd I’m dead. The build I run has always been glassy, but now I feel I’m excessively so.
I know I’m not the best player, and s/p isn’t the best build but I just want to know if there is a definitive reason for my sudden glassiness post patch – has some element of thief been nerfed, have other classes been buffed or whatever?

Also, does anyone else have it where skills and damage are incorrectly shown in the combat log? E.g. when I look at how much damage a pw has done it often calls it unload, and often sword attacks are called dagger ones too.

*If you are of the opinion that I am a noob and am failing because i need to ‘l2p’ or whatever, then I’m asking you to say something like ‘maybe you’re not experienced enough’ rather than being rude – I’ve been burned by this forum before and would not like a repeat

Well, there’s this Asura in Metrica Province who grew freakishly big and who you have to kill in an event, can’t remember the name though.

We’ve had the Revenant Mail Carrier in the gem store, and a Revenant Finisher is part of the Deluxe HoT. Surely it’s only fair if we get finishers and mail carriers for the other professions? I hope they are already being made, but if not, the this can act as a tiny prod >.<

Hmm, got Leaf of Kudzu from a lvl 60 something Risen Thrall during a personal story mission (back when mobs still dropped loot) and I recently got Storm from a Risen Krait I killed whilst waiting for Teq in Sparkfly.

I’ m confused what the issue is here, if the double daily fracs appear and you don’t like fracs – why not just do wvw or pvp dailies? You may not enjoy them but you need to remember what AP are – ‘Achievement points’. Doing things you enjoy and/or take under 10mins isn’t really achieving much (Vista and gathering/mining/logging dailies for example) – so what’s the problem with pve dailies being challenging every now and then? If you still don’t want to do the fracs, or can’t be bothered to spend 15-30 mins getting pvp/wvw dailies then you really don’t deserve those points.

From how I see it, it’s not Anet’s problem, it’s not the game’s problem – it’s your problem. Deal with it.

When I saw this thread and people complaining that they’d rather lose some copper rather than have to vendor more stuff I thought I’d just say -

‘Look after the coppers, and the gold will look after itself’

I love the faces! To me they give the skins a Melandru-ish feel – a wooden female face coming out of greenery.

So I am super psyched by the new ‘in construction’ version of LA, and I’m really looking forward to the new city. One of my main problems with the old Lion’s Arch was that it lacked flavour, so I’m making this thread for people to suggest possible new locations in LA and just generally what you’d like to see there! Who knows? Maybe a dev will see an idea and take it up!

For example, I’d like to see:

• Embassies for each of the playable races, and even perhaps representatives from the lesser races and maybe the Tengu
• Areas with houses where people actually live (NPC’s, not us)
• An impressive closed gate on the edge of the map supposedly leading to the giant arena described in the Destiny’s Edge book – the arena itself would probably
  be too big to fit into the LA map (I just want recognition of it’s existence!)

I don’t know if it’s a bug, but ever since the patch the image on my loading screens is further up with a large blank space beneath. I remember seeing a post by that shaman a while back which had short passages that were originally going to be put into loading screens to give the player more lore on the area they were entering, but this idea was scrapped. Do you think this feature will be returning in HoT or in a near patch?

BUMP I’ve completed all the achievements for each LS chapter as they came out but I can’t buy either of the nomad amulets yet, I sent off a bug report but it would be awesome if this could be ninja fixed some time soon!

No offense meant, but there are a huge number of threads suggesting new legendaries, so whilst these threads are nice to read – you have to know they’ll never amount to anything.

Anyway, I highly doubt anet will ever make a legendary that is even remotely similar to Arachnophobia, simply because it is already very unique and tbh I think your suggestion isn’t very imaginative as it just builds on an existing skin, and I never really considered Bifrost to be one of the silly skins, just because it has rainbows doesn’t mean it’s silly – it can look very epic and serious with the right combo of armour skins.

And I agree with Orpheal, if you wanted to only discuss YOUR idea, you should have made the thread title a little more specific.

Be nice if we have to work with the NC, only for Caithe and the Wardens to kill loads of them the second we finished. Would be interesting to see a darker side to the Pale Tree itself.

In HoT it’s pretty much a given that many Sylvari have been corrupted by Mordremoth to form the ‘Mordrem Court’. In threads ive seen a lot of people seem to assume that this new Mordrem Court is a direct continuation of the Nightmare Court, and that the Nightmare Court would serve Mordremoth happily. But I always thought the Nightmare Court would resist Mordremoth just as much as normal Sylvari would -I thought the NC was made because those Sylvari who joined it wanted to be allowed more free will, as the Pale Tree and the Dream was only good, and rejected any negativity. Therefore the Nightmare was made to try and ‘balance’ out the Dream.

So when Mordremoth appeared, wouldn’t the NC try to resist him as well? Since he can be seen as the polar opposite of the Pale Tree and the NC seem to want Sylvari to be a balanced race.

So… what are your opinions loremasters? Do my ramblings have any credibility? XD

I was just looking at the Silverwastes map, at the western area which is blocked up with vines and the three passages going in are kinda reminiscent of the 5 passages leading to the marionette in lornars. Since most people who did marionette thought it was the best world boss (rewards were brilliant, it was challenging but not impossible) another permanent world boss in that style might be quite likely.
Also, we haven’t had any new world bosses yet this season and the finale seems like the best time to have a huge boss fight – to gain entry to the rest of the Maguuma Wastes or Magus falls.
The major problem there is with this theory is that there isn’t really any time to have a world boss fight in the map between the Foothold and Time Out/Labyrinth meta events though… so… shrugs
So, is this theory possible? Or am i just being an idiot? XD

So I had two ideas regarding the Limited Use Finishers we have in game:

The simpler idea is that it would be nice if there was a merchant where we could exchange Limited Use Finishers we don’t want for others – this would be really useful because people who already have the permanent versions just end up destroying them (and typing in the name so that they can be destroyed can get pretty annoying).

The second idea is another merchant where we can exchange a certain number of Limited Use finishers for a permanent one – perhaps 250/a stack? And the limited use finishers can drop from related foes, for example:
Ley Line – Mordrem mobs
Jungle Wurm – Triple Trouble mobs
Toxic Offshoot – Toxic mobs
Gift/snowman/snow globe – general mobs during wintersday?

Ofcourse, some finishers would be difficult to find foes which could drop it, and then there’s the whole issue of people paying loads of gems for them (maybe make the drops really rare?). It would just be nice to have a way of getting permanent non-rank finishers without having to spend aload of gold on gems.

This post will probably come to nothing but hey, this is me throwing out a random idea! ^^

For the Treasure Collector acheivement, you need 4 items which you get by using a superior rune of scavenging with a certain skill point. Each rune is about 2.5g on the tp, so about 10g in total. When I got all four collectors items; the Seal of the Oratuss, the Enchanted Glacial Shard, Burning Forest Crest and the Mark of the Tamini, I assumed, because there were 4 of them, that they could be put in the mystic forge for something. But no, the only thing i can do with them is sell them to a vendor for 2s 64c each. Anyone else a little annoyed at this? :<

I’m just bumping this topic up – I decided to submit a ticket asking for the possibility of getting the mad memoires skin and the toymakers bag – both of which I deleted before the wardrobe, and I got a mail today with them in!!! So thank you anet and thank you Najten for making this thread! I never thought my request would be accepted! ^^

I was just wondering, there are some mini’s you can only get by putting some other minis into the mystic forge, and this destroys them. When we first got the wardrobe if we had a Spinal Blades backpiece we would unlock all the previous forms by default. So when my Mini Dolyak Calf goes into the wardrobe, will i also get the mini fawn, puppy and arctic fox kit unlocked? :S

I know that we won’t be able to replay anything from S1 for a long, long time – but could we still have summaries of each episode from it (excluding festivals and sab most likely) in the story journal? I know we could go and read them on the wiki but it would be nice to be able to read it in-game.

Also, its probably in the works already, but could we have a way of rewatching cutscenes like Omadd’s Machine and the Pale Tree Vision ingame? They’re so beautiful i want to watch them over and over! XD

So I recently made my first necro, and since most of my toons are zerks I decided to make a condi, I’ve been trying to look for a build but all the comprehensive ones I find are out of date, so does anyone know a recent guide that tells me what gear type/runes/sigils/traits etc? Also, i’ll mostly be using this build in pve (probably mostly for wurm) with maybe a little wvw on the side. Thanks!

I was just thinking, now we know that Husks are minions of Mordremoth, and considering that the Nightmare Court use them a lot – shouldn’t there be some major turmoil going on within the NC? Unless the Husks need to be corrupted in which case my theory is moot ^^

But still, I would think it would be awesome if Mordy attacks the NC aswell as the normal Sylvari, so we end up having like a temporary alliance with them, we get to know a really charismatic guy from the NC, he becomes a kinda friend. And then, when we win against Mordy and are celebrating, the Sylvari wardens slaughter all the NC people who have been fighting with us – tbh I think it would be awesome if we could see a darker side to the Pale Tree, but then again none of this will ever happen XD

So I was reading the description of the Mysterious vine backpiece and it says that the vine was touched by Mordremoth, but under the care and influence of the ‘good hero of tyria’ or something its become good, and this got me thinking. What if the tree that the pale trees seed came from was once touched by mordremoth and made magical (might’ve even been a general of Mordy or just a random corrupted tree) and so its seeds were also ‘touched’ by Mordy. But under the influence of Ronan and Ventari, and then Ventari’s tablet – it became good. Im not saying that the ‘Mysterious seed’ is another Pale Tree seed but to me there does seem to be some similarities between the two.

So I saw a few vids on ley line weapons, and the ones I saw had a sound effect when drawn, so I got the shortbow and was really annoyed when I found out it didn’t have that sound effect, I don’t know whether other skins also lack the effect but it really annoys me – bug or not?

I know there have been aload of threads on lag in Dry Top, and i experienced that – but for me, the worst lag i experience is in the instance Fallen Hopes. Even after killing all the enemies, hiding my shiny back piece, turning all the settings to their lowest and closing all other programs on my computer i still have a lag of about 1.5s – which makes the jp and hay achievements an absolute nightmare, i know that there was a recent patch to address lag in dry Top, but i just wanted to know if i’m alone in this, cos if i am then it’s probably my Internet to blame, but if i’m not then i am open to any helpful hints! ^^

(also, incase anyone mentions this, my computer is well over the minimum specs required to run the game)

Tbh, i would love it if we got an awesome backpiece for completion of the personal story, something that looks like their blue glowy technology :>

So from S1 of the living story we got Marjory’s Journal, a Zephyr Sanctum Model and Scarlet’s Diary. I really like these items in game, but they kinda waste space in my bank – could we have a collection tab for living story items like these? Or maybe in the future they could be stored in the story journal so we can watch/listen to them from there. It’s a small issue, but I really hope we get more items like this and a place to put them, thoughts?

8/10, i’m not a huge fan of death/fire themed looks but they do work and im impressed that you have 4 different looks

Basically, if I buy a monocle of say, medium armour on the tp and salvage it for the skin, will I unlock the skin across all armour weights or just medium?

This is a trivial little post, but it’s about something which really annoys me: When you look at Tonics for other members of Scarlet’s minions, like the Infinite Molten Berserker Tonic, Infinite Watchknight Tonic and the Infinite Aetherized Tonic they all have nice icons – but the icon for the toxic krait tonic is just a normal round blue bottle
Am I the only who gets annoyed by this stuff? >.<
