Why no condi reduction stat?

The whole point of condi damage is that it can’t be reduced by a simple stat, but only be cleansed or protected by through spells/items.

A dye whiter than celestial

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

It’s not about the dye, it’s about the different armors having some sort of base color that’s not changed.

Sylvari culture armor is really “white” and even in dark areas it’s shown as white.

Sadly it looks like grey on nearly all of the rest of the armors.

They just need to fix that and the color itself would be fine.

There is barely anything I am actually selling since you gain more by salvaging or trying your luck in the mystic toilet.

GW2 is in the same boat, there is no need for a new game.

[Suggestion] Turn off gliding/speed boost

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

Can someone explain a logical reason why you would ever hold down the jump key (without gliding)?

I never did it because it’s just useless key pressing which doesn’t do anything and delays your next jump because you need to release the key first to press it again.

I don’t even understand how you can get a habit like this because it’s just extra strain on your thumb when holding the key.

New Commander markers bugged

Xetu.7341

Where were you when this happened?

We were doing raids, Gorse.

Were you doing anything special?

No. I simply put markers to see how it looks and cleared them afterwards. When we wiped (probably me dying as commander?) and respawned, they just reappeared at their position where they were cleared.

Were you a lieutenant or a commander?

I was commander. I had lieutenants as well, but I doubt they instantly put all markers back at their deleted positions. I don’t think they know lieutenants could make markers, I didn’t know as well. :P

A Fix For Broken Armor

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

There are just 2 options, imo:

1. Remove damaged and broken armor completely. It currently doesn’t add anything to the game other than being annoying.

2. Make damaged and broken armor an actual game mechanic. Looking onto raids especially, armor should get damaged when downed and start breaking when completely damaged. Then it can actually affect a fight and wouldn’t render the repair kits useless.
Though, even with that change it wouldn’t do anything since you’re probably not going down that often.

A-net u are so unfair… whats the point of playing when crap like that happens? All this time for nothing?

Great game… so much fun….

Next time join a commander’s squad and just tell him that you have joined because you have ISP/hardware/bad luck problems. When you relog you’ll end up in the same map. Most commanders won’t have a problem with this.

And to you also the question:

Why do people HAVE TO join a party or squad to rejoin the same map?

Disconnection issues

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

If you switch back to the map you dc’d from your participation is restored, so always try be in a party or squad.

You shouldn’t be forced to be in a party or squad to rejoin the map you disconnected from.

The whole taxi kitten is annoying.
They should just make it like GW1 where you have a server list and just join the server you want. People wouldn’t randomly be placed on different servers and could just join an active event map without needing someone to taxi them in.

I wish they wouldn’t be so stiff when running and would just act like they fixed the feather wings.

I hope not. This was the reason I bought the hawk wings, because they don’t behave like the black or white ones. I am not a fan of that drifty, swooshy, flowy, fabric-y looking animation that happens whenever your character moves the tiniest bit on the screen. I love the way the hawk wings move more naturally when you move on the screen and the way the feathers separate out and fall back into place, it’s much more elegant looking than previous ones.

I don’t want them exactly like the feather wings, but they currently move too much with the body. They move left and right too stiff, looking so weird.

Also, currently they wobble too much, like they are rubber. Not the whole wings, more like from the part they are attached to the body.

When running they should pull slightly together and flap with the wind like the feather wings.

When standing still they spread out like they are now.

I also wish will all those wings that they would have some idle animations. Stretching, flapping, maybe your char goes slightly into the air sometimes. Something to make those wings look “real” instead of glued to your character.

Stacking sigils still a thing?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

I actually see quite a lot of people still using them.

But they are away too inconsistent for HoT maps since you can easily die and lose all your stacks.

Also, in raids they are basically useless and those who do raids won’t be using 2 weapons just to swap for the sigil.

In fractals they are only useful in like half the maps and most people just run the fastest ones where you won’t get many stacks anyway.

All in all they are way too specific.

Chronomancer - Commander's stats worth it?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

I hear it’s one of the best stat sets for tanking on a chrono, toughness to hold agro, boon duration for the usual etc

Sure if you’re the aggro taker it’s very nice to have the toughness, but not in every raid you have to take aggro and then you’re stuck with toughness.

When I have no toughness I just change the Amulet and Rings and there I go with most toughness since nobody should have much more than the standard 1k.

That’s basically my concern about the toughness.

Chronomancer - Commander's stats worth it?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

I am currently really struggling to decide if I really want to change my Berserker’s stats to Commander’s or not.

The boon duration increase would be a maximum of 26.4%.
This would get my total boon duration in a raid to 96.4% compared to the current 70%.

I don’t think the loss of crit damage on a Chronomancer is that big of a difference since you have a low base damage and the lowest damage of the party anyway.

But I have more of a problem with the increase of toughness since it could mess with your party setup.

So overall you don’t need Commander’s stats for keeping up your quickness, but it’s always nice to get as much out of it as you can.

So what’s your opinion on it? Is it worth it? Does the increased toughness bother you?

Haha thx dude.

Well, Tree of Savior already has beta days to test it, sadly I had no chance to test it so far.

Ragnarok is imo the best MMORPG out there. Great concept and gameplay.
Sadly it has a really low player base because they took down the euRO server years ago and when they patched the fRO server to a new update more than half the playerbase just quit.

Then they ruined Ragnarok 2, just one of the worst games ever. Took way too long to bring it out in English and they removed so much content you had in Ragnarok 1.

So now I hope the new game will bring back the Ragnarok style. Great balance of quests, grinding and just running around solo and getting exp/levels by killing mobs.

“MOBA” – Multiplayer Online Battle Arena

What competitive game isn’t multiplayer, online, and takes on some sort of battle? The first three words apply to nearly every single online game that pits players against each other (obviously). The fourth word, arena, doesn’t even describe the DotA/LoL/HoN-genre. Using that word implies an all-hostile area that dismisses the territorial control and lane-pushing among its many facets of gameplay.

F.lux is an option as well; you can get it here: https://justgetflux.com/

It’s designed to help maintain circadian rhythms by reducing certain spectrums of light, but it can easily be tweaked to saturate/desaturate anything you want. It affects everything you see on your monitor (not just gw2) but it’s not at all resource heavy, and you can always kill the process if you only want to use it for one application. I don’t notice any change in FPS using f.lux, which is why I prefer it over SweetFX and the like.

ANET - A way to Fix Mentor Tags

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Xetu.7341

Can do it the Anet way and just remove it all together. I have a question. For what purpose does an entire map need to see a mentor tag? Why would anyone outside of local chat “range” need to see your little red apple?

Explained multiple times in this thread. Organization PVE/where to go.

That’s what a commander tag is for.

Mentor is for teaching.
Commander is for organization and leading.

Ergo there is no need for mentors to have a tag.
Those title doesn’t even have any real purpose.
It’s far more effective to ask something in map chat and people will help you than asking people having a mentor tag who 99% of the time won’t even help you.

ANET - A way to Fix Mentor Tags

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

I don’t need those derogatory ‘hints’. Let me clarify: That was 2 out of 2 maps, where “active” mentoring took place.

The point is, people are making an effort and suddenly the mentor/commander decides that they need better loot and destroys peoples efforts to just play the game.

If you tell them to wait, you get the undesired results that I mentioned and the claim that “it’s really anets fault for making the game that way”.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t oppose the idea itself. It’s what people make of it, and at the moment it’s 100% (remember: 2 out of 2) destruction of people’s efforts/progress for pure selfishness.

Waiting is the best option. Believe it or not, there was a point where all of these complaints have been issued before but with commander tags. It’s nothing new and Anet will do the exact same thing they did with the commander tag complaints. They will do nothing and it will fix itself. Once the shiny appeal goes away you will see less of the tag.

IMHO there is no difference between these two pictures.
http://i.imgur.com/w7ylzCv.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/zyVFoZq.png

There is a big difference.

Commander Tags, no matter how many there are on the map/minimap are meant to gather people around them for events. People can follow those commanders since they more or less know what to do and lead the party. It’s a person everyone is following so nobody is just blindly running somewhere until the group splits up because nobody knows what to do or everyone has a different thought on where to run.

Being a Mentor, as the name suggests, is supposed to be a title for people who are willing to help others. Answering questions or showing/explaining something on the map. There is no need for them to have a tag on the map/minimap.

Mentors are supposed to help others, but 99% of all the mentors never helped anyone and just used the tag as commander. Not because there is no commander and they wanna help out, no, because they just want a tag on the minimap and above their head.
And don’t tell me I’m lying, I asked many mentors and most of them just ignored me because they had no interest in helping.

Commander tags, even if there are tons on one spot, just do exactly what they are supposed to do. Gathering people and being a focus point for people to follow.

I don’t even wanna know how EotM would look with mentor tags enabled. Would probably literally be unplayable.

ANET - A way to Fix Mentor Tags

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

Question, how does a Mentor tag on the minimap and an apple above the head of someone help?

It doesn’t help.

Being a Mentor is about helping people and not about showing off an icon which is more annoying that helping.

There should be an icon which indicates that currently there is someone on your map online as Mentor, willing to help others. Not the position, not an apple over the head, just an icon like a buff you can click on. Something like the Ranger’s pet management icon/window which you should also be able to turn off if you don’t like it.

Clicking this icon opens a list with all currently available Mentors on the same map as you are.
Each Mentor should be able to make a little description as well.

The chat can have some sort of indication, that’s fine.
Commanders should have a chat indication as well in form of the current color they are using.

Maybe even give people the option to rate Mentors who did a good job.

Nobody cares about your opinion if you can’t give any reasoning behind it.

Seriously. All I see from this community are ignorant selfish opinions without any reasoning or arguments.

All you get as answer is the same bullkitten. “Muh GW2 is different, just accept that”.
No, that’s a kittened justification for something being good which is clearly not good as stated by many facts.

An attitude like this tends to show off how you lead parties…and the vote kick is there to get rid of people who are troublesome either in attitude or just not playing well, and to prevent them from holding the party back from completing something.

I’ve had a dungeon where 2 of the other 4 were holding us back, and we couldn’t complete the burrows in AC because of it. So I started a vote kick on one of them, he got kicked, then we kicked the other and replaced them. We got 2 new people in there and we proceeded to complete the place with no problems.

If you are holding back the party from completing a dungeon, then yes, you should be kicked regardless if you’re party leader or not.

Why do you need a vote kick for that?

Either you should have made the party by yourself and would have kicked both within 2 seconds and searched for new people, or you would just leave the party.

It’s not like you just saw at the end boss that 2 people are holding back the party. You see it right at the beginning and if you’re not the party leader you just leave.

I played other MMOs and there was never a problem with a party leader system.
If you by chance had a bad leader you would just leave and create a new party.

People would automatically get a reputation for being a good leader or a bad leader.
Some people made it so far that all their parties, which had more than just 5 people, were instantly full and people literally waited for those parties.

Like Xetu I find 2/5 to be a problem. Many times I’ve taxied in folks and then gotten kicked out of the party I created as a reward. Very annoying when that happens. 3/5 would really reduce the rate of that occurring.

You didn’t understand my post.

I never said I find 2/5 to be a problem.
I don’t care if it’s 2/5 or 3/5 or 4/5. There SHOULD NOT be any vote kick.

I AM THE PARTY LEADER! That’s it. Either people want to join MY party and let me handle the party management or they don’t.

In every single MMO I know the party leader decides. There is no vote kicking and if people don’t like how someone leads the party they just leave. Easy as that.

Not only would that remove many problems, it would also let people build up a reputation for them and their guild that they are a good party leader.

Druid Feedback

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Xetu.7341

Xetu.7341

I finally made it to Druid, just started recently from the stretch.
I really love that there is now an effective pure healing support in GW2.

But now here are 2 minor complaints.

1. Why is that “Solar Beam” so freaking thin?

It’s more like a thin laser and not a beam.
People are supposed to stand inside the beam to get healed, but there is barely any beam.

Can’t you make a real beam out of it? Even Mesmer’s greatsword attack has a bigger laser.
Wouldn’t it make sense to have a real noticeable healing beam?
Not only would that look totally awesome, but it would also feel like your beam (attack) does something. Now with that beam you basically just see some healing numbers, who knows where they came from.

Make it slightly bigger than the Mesmer GS laser.

2. Can you make it possible to always show health bars of all players?

I mean with the new maps and this massive player events I would really like to help people on low health, especially with Druid jumping in to help. But it’s nearly impossible to check all players health by hovering the mouse over them.

This also comes back to what this game is supposed to be. Isn’t GW2 all about player interaction in big and even small events, helping each other as a team?

How can I help others when I can’t see their HP all the time? This would be just blindly spamming spells and if someone dies we revive him? That’s not real teamplay and player interaction.
I want to be able to react to whats happening and not trying to be lucky to check someones health at the right time.

PS: Medium armor looks awful compared to light armor, even heavy looks better.

Hell no, you’re just going to die…

If you wanna go heal guard you should go hybrid with Sentinel/Soldier armor and Cleric weapon/accessory.

Already played Guard full cleric and in a serious fight you can’t outheal the damage.
