Too many currencies….
Every new update comes with more kitten currencies, and renders previous currencies useless. All this kitten about time based pips, could have been avoided by using old currencies.
We should only ever need 2 to 4.
Its beyond ridiculous
Never been one to call out for nerfs on a class, I think only broken things like Ice Bow have ever really deserved it.
But I would like to know what allows a single thief to go right through an entire WvW zerg dodge rolling non-stop taking little to no damage whilst healing back to full health when a hit would land. I couldn’t believe what I was watching, infinite dodge rolls?
Essentially how does a zerg stop it? How do you counter this? Nothing seemed to work.
If traited in acro dd and trickery you can do a fair amount but not infinite, we could run through a zerg over say 5-10 sec max.
You have to remember its only the same as other class invuln and block etc only we have to work at it and not just press 1 button.
Guys please don’t complain you can as well avoid fights, have scouts to check if the enemy blob approaches so you change direction and ppt a different map area. Hahaha :P

I’ve mained a thief since beta, until recently I made a mesmer and a ranger. I was utterly shocked how much more powerful and survivable they are.
Its a no brainer, just re-roll the Thief is dead and burried.
Indeed It does make you wonder about level ot thought and consideration that goes into the creation of new content for wvw…

Most of us now accept that skill lag is going to happen during 3way zerg fights, we just spam 1 until we all die or emerge victorious. Yes its a pain in the kitten but we shrug it off and move on..
However.. Yesterday’s prime time in EB gave us a new feature.
We had a decent number of players on the commander (30-40), during a two way fight vs another (30-40) all was normal, no real lag to speak of, until the 3rd blob of (50-60) decided to get in on the action… this point we thought ok spam 1… But skill 1 rarely responded in addition to that, movement also didn’t respond! This is something that took us all by surprise, skill lag we can live through but Movement Lag also! From our side we all experienced this after which most of us just left cause it was unplayable.
I’m pointing this out because to be fair we weren’t at max capacity in EB we had no que, in the past we have encountered larger fights but have never experienced movement lag.
Maybe its a one off I don’t know but from initial experience post HoT skill lag has just entered a new level.
I know many servers have low numbers atm in wvw but if you have also experienced this please share your experience.

I really don’t see a problem here other than for the poor “original” Gandara crowd, having to suffer a 320+ que.
If all this crying is because your losing the match up, then please think again as to what the reason’s are for this.
I assure you even without the free transfer’s Gandara would still be kicking your kitten , in fact I would have to say you would probably be worse off pt wise.
You have to understand the negative impact of such ques, the majority of our core skill & tactical prowess comes from our “original” crowd, of which simply cannot get through the ques.However once the achievements have gone, and ques diminish you will see more of the old Gandara and then you will really wish you would have transferred!
So is it because of the transfer’s we be eligible for gold…? No its because we are just “good enough” to get there.
Don’t punish hard working, dedicated communities like we have in Gandara!, we will grow and grow and get stronger, because we want to!!

If season 2 have started 2 weeks ago, Gandara would have finished 4th-5th.
Anything else would have been a major upset.Beat me to it……I seem to recall the loudest whinging about Deso “tanking” into Silver and winning it last time were Gandaran posters.
@Bethryn….primetime is maybe 4 hours duration. Ofc some Gandaran guilds run separate, as do some guilds from every server because it’s their raid times. It is outside of primetime that the previous poster was alluding to I think. Gandara can have a zoneblob in every border, while it seems most of the time Piken and FSP can only manage EB and one border.
I don’t blame Gandara. I blame Anet.

Your opinion, and far from realistic. In season 1 we go beat only to a tanked Deso.
What you fail to realise is when push comes to shove and “competitive” gameplay come to pass, such as the season’s, Gandara pull out all the stops!

They have known about this for 18 months+ .. and only now do devs write a thread about it. Asking for more information… Jebus Christ anet you have almost 2 year’s worth of information.
Such a shame, WvW had potential.

It’s goina to be a tough one imo, I think Cilag may be right. No way this is goina be a walk in the park for Gandara.
Having said that, if we manage to stay focused on our tactical strengths along with our additional numbers, we could be very difficult to beat.
I’ll be there most of they way :P so watch out, Treb Master is coming for you!! :P

Anet.. Turn off WvW its Kittened, please turn it back on when it works!
Make all roaming groups >40 perma visible on the map with an icon (ie skull), if the group is in a tower or keep then the icon will not show.
Very little coding required and very effective discouragement for zerging which in turn would reduce skill lag.

Not sure if these have been mentioned before but I’m goina throw them on the table anyway.
So here’s the deal…..
Problem 1 Blobbing & skill lag (I think we all know what these are)
Solution
Introduce a map icon (lets say a skull) to permanently show on the map any zerg over 50 players, similar to orange swords but in this case it follows the zerg around the map and gives away their position. This in turn i believe could reduce skill lag as it discourages blobbaddons.
Problem 2 Population / coverage
For this one i’d like to give a little more detail, currently the whole WvWvW Tier/Rank/league whatever you wanna call it “competitive system” as far as I can see is mainly based on coverage & population.
So basically all we have is a league that simply orders / ranks all the servers based on pop & cov the highest being at the top obviously.
To me this is just ridiculous, shouldn’t it be based on skill and teamwork?? it is possible..!
Solution
Unmanned buff – Get rid of all that so called buff and replace it with REAL stat boosting buffs and give the server that has no man-power a fighting chance.
The KEY is this buff needs to have several degrees of stat boosting obviously dependent on how unmanned you are. And please when I say real I mean like Double or even Tripled stats when 5-10 players face a blob of 50 spawn camping them.. Give them guys and gals a chance jees.. even that play ground, even the 50 man zerg spawn camping would prefer a challenge no?
If something like this is introduced then population should no longer be the viable winner provided solution 2 is graded & triggered correctly.

Given the feedback, I am quite surprised that Anet has chosen to address Culling rather than skill lag in the coming patch, given that skill lag has been around as long as the effects of culling (although culling has had much more “Lime Light”).
Culling has been a major complaint. Skill lag hasn’t really been a community-wide complaint until recently. They didn’t have to take a poll, people were volunteering the data. We don’t know that skill lag will not also be addressed. We don’t know what systems they are working on or what their priorities currently are, other than what they’ve stated. Incidental skill lag can be local to the user and not at their end at all. They certainly started working on culling months ago. They may have started working on skill lag as soon as it was reported and depending on the fix it may not be done for a while.

Yeah it does seem Skill Lag has only recently come within the radar, which surprises me tbh since I definitely experienced this before culling. Having said that, at first I assumed it was only me and it was my connecting lagging out. I dunno
Either way I know Anet will work hard to get it sorted out, however I do think Anet could do a lot more regarding data gathering from the community, there may be benefits from “listening” (he who shouts the loudest) but “seeking” (making a concerted effort to acquire wide spectrum of data) builds a much stronger 2-way relationship between both customer & supplier.

Lessons Learned would be to “Ask the gamer’s” so a priority of improvements for the community can be established, ensuring problems that are most likely to affect both Anet & their customer’s (you) are dealt with in the correct order.
A simple poll from the Devs on the forums would go along way with us and give them the data to build a priority matrix for the teams working on improvements. Driven by the community!

I bought a new bow the other day, and i started to notice when I fired the bow at the floor with no target selected and no combat(with the signet on passive) i lost my 25% buff, however when i switch back to DD my buff of +25% returns, I can attack thin air with the daggers and the buff remains but as soon as i switch to the bow I lose the buff again…
Sometimes swapping weapons slots fixes the issue and it will be fine for 5-10 minutes, then all of a sudden … i switch to bow and its at it again..
This is kinda hurtful to my play style as I use the bow to escape etc and the +25% is key to ensuring i am successful at it. now i have to go back to PP as my alt weapons
C’mon Anet listen to us :-)
Edit.. I forgot to mention this problem occurs in both WvW & PVE.. not sure about sPvP but i would assume its generic

Btw 4sec cooldown is enough to kill a berzerker thief (they will have to play on their “skill” to last longer now, no more “I-Win button”) :p
Yeah I imagine we will see fewer full glass cannon thieves which I fully welcome. It is completely ridiculous to be hit with an over 10k backstab from an invisible enemy on a fully knight geared warrior. At least now I have 4 seconds afterwards to smash them with my hammer.
The thing about this is nothing will change in this situation. They already were getting the debuff by backstabbing you fro 10K. This will be exactly the same before and after patch.

Regarding the 10k as “ridiculous” I think is a bit unfair when you think about it, this is at most is 50% of your hp, a glass cannon Thief will have around 11k hp and given your choice of build as a knight your focus is sustainability not damage output yet! you will easily take 50% hp off a glass thief with 1 skill.
My point is really, glass Thieves do big damage just the same as any other class that decide to spec that way and on the flip side they have massively reduced sustainability.
For me its all relative, as a glass build I have to learn to escape because there is no way I could stand a chance gloves off and face to face. So as long as there is a way to evade etc with mobility as they propose, then there should be no problem. As for Stealth? its a core utility of the thief, without it… well we wouldn’t be called a Thief.

I am very opposed to the stat inflation and gear check introduced by the new patch. I derive no joy from increasing the numbers on my character sheet. Gaining another 500 hit points does not make me a better player. It’s not an impressive feat.
If I take down a champion alone, or win a 1 on 1 fight against an equal-level, equal-gear WvW invader, that can be impressive. That may be a measure of skill or talent. If I win because I have played longer, if my “gear” grants larger bonuses, then that success is lessened.
Aside from the gameplay implications, I rather dislike seeking out new gear for its stats. When I completed my exotic set (half from crafting, half bought outright) I felt relief. “Finally,” I thought, “I’m done with this. Now I can focus on the fun parts.”
I felt a similar relief when I reached level 80 and the world was truly open to me, but that’s a separate issue.
The other part of the new patch, the infusion-agony gear check, is also distressing. It segregates players. I’m discouraged from playing with my friends who haven’t progressed as far. Who benefits from this?
The core of the idea, an endless dungeon that gets more difficult as one progresses, is solid. But tying progress to gear? Gear that must be ground out? Terrible.
Personally, I would make the infusion process something limited to the dungeon, and something that reflects the players’ skill and ingenuity. Perhaps small events in the dungeon grant protection for a limited time. Perhaps something as simple as an ever decreasing time limit. I don’t know what would be best, but I tell you nearly anything would be better than a gear check. Gear does not measure skill. Gear does not measure tactics. Gear is a measure of time spent playing, and little more.
So what does this mean? They already have my money. I’ve enjoyed the game very much so far, I admit. I love dynamic events. I love the open world with its secrets and tricks. I like the WvW and how it (sometimes) brings the server together.
But I don’t like this. I don’t like what this hints at for the future.
Perhaps I’ll play something else for now. I have other games I have neglected. I’ll wait and see if favorable changes are made, or (less ideally) if the power level plateaus again. But if the power level continues to creep upwards with new equipment? No thank you.

The very idea of having “dungeon only” ascended gear as top tier is a Guild Wars game breaker imo.
They could have introduced a new tier accessible via ALL game modes… Karma, Honor Badges & Crafting… that imo would be fine (cater for everyone). But no, now as it has been mentioned, all we will have is a resistant grind in a dungeon that many players will only do it for the stats and not because its FUN to do.
I like WvW and will NOT be playing a game where i have to do stuff I do not enjoy to be a viable asset in WvW.
