What is Raid exactly? noob here..

Raids are dungeons made for more people than you’d typically be able to party with. They are generally harder than normal dungeons and require far more people and coordination. Many MMOs are centered around raids.

As time progresses, the number of people that make a raid is less and less. In the old EQ days raids were 75 man. In vanilla WoW they were 40-man, and later became 20 main. Rift even had 10 man raids.

The bottom line is they’re supposed to be challenging, instanced content done with more people than a standard party.

they’re also way longer with a weekly ID (since you need more days to complete a raid) , way harder and with more complex tactics, no idea how a raid would work on gw2 anyway cuz the lack of the trinity and since most of the bosses get facetanked.

takes days?? O_O hmm example we raid 5pm to 10pm we reach 50% so we get out the raid. Then we can roam around other areas then get back to where we left?

Charr parents actually have very little to do with their children. Once the cubs are weaned (not quite sure how long that takes), the cubs are sent off to a fahrar, which is kind of like a community school/orphanage. The fahrar is managed by a Primus and his warband, and they oversee the care and training of all the cubs within the fahrar.

As they get older, the Primus organises the cubs into warbands based on how well individual cubs get along and according to their talents, although sometimes the cubs start forming their own bonds before that.

The parents may keep tabs on their children now and again, but for the most part once they are given to the fahrar, Charr parents have nothing more to do with their children’s lives. Likewise, while Charr cubs may take pride in (or feel shame about) their parent’s accomplishments, a cub is free to make their own name and reputation without wider society judging them for their heritage. Charr society is remarkably meritocratic.

I’m not sure how often children are conceived within warbands, but it seems that most Charr cubs are born from brief flings and passionate liaisons between Charr adults. They meet, they procreate, and then they separate once the cubs are old enough to be sent to the fahrar. Long-term relationships between Charr are exceedingly rare.

For example warband A there like “family” right? so they incest there way to procreation and their kids would be another warband? and so on. will they really be focused only on their warband? or they could choose freely from different warbands.

another thing, given warband A has kids. does it mean that their kids will be automatically a warband or, some kids from warband A will be together with the kids with warband B and they would be another warband. if so. who will take care of them?

and if a female charr will be pregnant, what would they do to her? send her home or what?

I was threaten with a kick the other day by some guy with his guildie because he wanted me to give him a frost bow all the time on my ele so I did but then he started on the Mesmer going on about time warp and ended up kicking him and apparently added him to a “blacklist” lol. I re-invited the Mesmer and we kicked both the guildies from the party so yeah im probably on his blacklist too but I would of loved to of seen his face and reaction when they got kicked.

They think they are God when there are 2 of them.

with work on weekdays, i’ve got to make the best of the time on weekends. so yeah i’m pretty kittened.

Well, it’s not Mawdrey yet, but I don’t think I’ll keep his appearance once I’ll get it, anyway. The purple glow on the tendrils is a bit too much for my tastes.
So here’s Lyvenlurn, my mesmer, with the cultivated vine ! I used a little purple on the t3 shoulders to make it appear like it’s the vine’s leaves.

I’ve played GW2 a decent amount of time, Read forum post, watched videos, a bit research. And I just recently discovered combos…

Am i on the fault for not knowing about combos early on playing the game?

or should they have included tutorials about it? or if they already had which part? because I have not notice it..

hmmmm would the progress be saved? like i’ve clicked P1 P2 P3 fracts blah blah, then i turn off the computer. then when i get back again. are the clicked paths etc. still be checked?

yeah, but everytime i click it, it goes to the “daily dolly” it sort of alt tabs right away. ( i’m in window mode, does this matter? )

oh now it works…. but my prob is, every time I alt tab the “daily dolly” goes back to overwolf, so when i get back to gw2 i have to click it back again.

well i just invited a friend who has literally no idea about GW2.

when he finished his tutorial, he has no idea where to go. so i had to explain that you go hearts first because the story starts at lvl 10.

now he’s 17 and does not know about swapping weapons, and their slots.

and according to him he finished his hearts on the 1-15 map and he has no what to do next because his story needs to be at level 20.

I do believe all GW2 Overlays require you to be running in full-screen windowed (or simply windowed) to allow the application to overlay itself properly. If you run in full-screen mode, the application will not be able to display itself on top since GW2 will be on front of everything.

Ari here, Community Manager for Overwolf and the guy who made those videos.

Overwolf runs in fullscreen mode as it works very different to the other overlays out there. We inject into the game without altering the games files or anything (which is why SweetFX sometimes messes Overwolf up).

The way we work complies with the ToS of Guild Wars 2.

The Daily Dolly app works like pen and paper, it does not read anything automatically and requires user input (you have to manually click the paths of the dungeons or crafting and such) to make it do anything.

Every app for Guild Wars 2 uses the official API and does not read any game memory, edit game files or do anything of that sort. Information received from the game isn’t actually receieved from the game, but from clever use of the Guild Wars 2 API.

If the function isn’t in the official API, then there isn’t a way to do it without workarounds. For example, the Daily Dolly. Since the Guild Wars 2 API doesn’t have a function for reading dungeon completion and rewards and things like that, the developer created a pen and paper app that requires a user to input that themselves. The app has in it that Path 1 of AC rewards X gold and X tokens and then crosses it off, then if you click on a second path it adds the 2 and so on, almost like an excel worksheet.
