I don’t think it does, but have not thoroughly tested it.
With traits you can make more applications, or Runes of the Monk, or one of the new GM traits. It can synergize with Honor I, Honor VI, or Valor II.
The point about better AoE bursts misses the point.
1. What do guardians have that is a better AoE burst? What to guardians have for AoE period? Symbols?
2. Aegis blocks attacks (preventing damage on your allies) and then provides damage back, therefore the relative difference between impact on your allies vs. impact on your foes is an important one to consider. I do not know of any other AoE that provides a complete block (AoE blinds can be removed or cleansed, protection is just damage reduction, and healing/regen is only useful after damage taken) to damage. Of course some skills are unblockable so it will not help against those.
This does have the noted problems. Best place to use it is in tightly packed melee trains in WvW when the two zergs are passing through each other or when there are lots of AI around (MM, clones/phantasms).
The cost benefit of maximizing SA use or synergizing it (improving Courage means traiting into Virtues, etc.) over other builds is where the real discussion should lie.
Vitality, vitality, vitality.
SoS, just felt unbelievable skill lag in EBG while attacking red keep.
I watched my health bar go from almost full to downed without a single skill going off.
Other characters were rubber banding all over the place.
Others on TS at the same time near SMC said the lag was not as bad at certain times.
WP to blue keep, lag is more manageable, but still present.
There were 50+ players on each side at least.
I am convinced that the average GW2 player who posts on these forums is completely incapable of objective reasoning and instead reacts in a knee jerk manner without any exploration of any possible new builds.
I cannot wait to try new builds on these cookie cutter thinkers.
If Sylvari are born of the tree, then can they be turned into firewood?
Some FPS games have a menu hierarchy (2 or 3 key presses, one to activate the menu system, 2 or 3 more for specifics).
Ex: from TF2

3 incoming to home? I don’t have time to type that out, I need rapid communication to my team as I will be in combat in microseconds.
Nice.
Complainers go home.
With Asuran gates, what difference does it make where you put a hub?
…southwest of Lion’s Arch
Sunny beaches.
Already gated.
Minor problem with the fauna, but a few exterminators can clear that up.
Seems like a nice place to set up a new city…
@sol – sorry, you appear to be the one wrong here
You do realize traps are utility skills? You actually have weapon skills that you could occasionally use to, say, evade that warrior steamrolling towards you.
Get an MMO mouse.
What do you need power for?
Likes:
1. Large scale open field combat, large scale combat in defended structures, where a variety of tactics can be utilized and where split second decisions can win or lose a fight.
2. Multi scale fights, from ZvZ to small roaming groups to 1v1, all CAN contribute to the win.
3. Best representation of what being in an RTS should feel like.
Hates:
1. Severe population or coverage imbalances.
2. The same maps day after day after day.
3. Lack of rewards for certain aspects, supply management and logistics, defense, siege refresh, etc.

decap engi does not = team win
So much ignorance in this thread. I do hope the DEVs are not listening.
Shield is completely viable in PVP as well, so that leaves PVE as the red-headed step child.
Increased condition duration is only potential damage, it can be cleansed and fairly easily.
“Since the dev team designs maps that are the direct opposite of what people want in e sports:
Look at skyhammer for example. One of the worst maps in the history of competetive gaming.”
There’s been lots of esports games with poorly designed maps, but usually a few make it to the most played list. Nobody plays Skyhammer in tournies, do they?
The build you link has GS/Staff, but the 2nd part of the vid is S/Focus and M/Torch?

why: duh
Guardians need halberds.
Axes are for woodfolk.
You sir, are a true martyr….
Quit playing bunker…
But according to the DPS thread this is all we are supposed to be doing… :/
This thread, like so many of the posts on this forum, requires evidence, preferably videos, to prove a topic one way or the other.
All of these ‘statements’ from people are simply opinions, very few facts are presented, and thus endless pointless arguments perpetuate misinformation ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
Welcome to the ’nets.
Why would you ever run shouts without 20% reduction in cd?
How does this not explain everything you need to know.
Anyone who says guards are useless in zergs understands nothing about this game.
Videos of successful Rangers in WvW would help. Zerg or havoc.
Can’t see that high…
This post demands video proof of any nominations.
How many golems BP?
How many golems must die!
The horror, the horror!
Dear Krait,
What camera are you taking all these selfies on?
Is it Asuran?
Hey BP!
Look over there! Shiny new fractals!
The mists are alive with new untold treasures.
You wannntttsss itttt.
Hey is the gatekeeper. Are you the keymaster?
Hey look, it’s FA, and EB, again. Deja vu.
If I win, it is because I have mastered every aspect of my class and build, played perfectly, and you showed up in subpar gear, clicked your skills instead of hotkeying, don’t have a good spec for anything, and are laughably unskilled.
If you win, it is because you brought X+10 people to fight, where X is the number of people I happen to have around me at the time of my losing and additionally brought siege into a field fight and very probably had a hacker doing… things.
There is no other option. That is what almost a month of league play and reading the forums has taught me.
Welcome to PVF.
Everything can be said in these graphs:

So many dead golems.
Goodbye EB, see you next week.
Transfer costs should be scaled to the server rating. That is probably the best measure of active WvW population there is. Transfer for the 24th placed server should be free. Transfer to T1 should be prohibitive.
I do not agree with scaling server pop in maps.
During the match current server PPT could be used to scale a few things (current PPT being the best measure of the active WvW participation right now).
1. RI on objectives could be scaled to PPT differential. In a 400-100-100 match, the RI on camps, keeps, and towers could be 4X as long for the two lower ranked servers vs. the higher ranked.
2. Could also scale objectives for gate/wall/NPC hitpoints.
3. Could also scale supply, dolyak speed, siege attack speed, siege cooldown on skills, siege cap.
All of these could make the higher scoring server have to work harder to get points.
It does not solve ZvZ fights.
It should be hollowed out and turned into condos
Breeze could be used in WvW in the same points in the fight where you would use staff#4, or where the commander calls for water fields + blasting.
The question is would you use it and what do you gain/lose.
Signet for big heal + condition removal.
Shelter for block.
May try it to see how it feels.
Do you feel you’re getting the most out of your runes?
staff#2 as blast finisher when you actually explode it – it completely fits as a blast finisher then – not for every launch
Staff#2: Blast Finisher
After less than 24 hours do I see 1 matchup in NA and 1 matchup in Euro that are even remotely close?
Or maybe if I squint it could grow to 2-3 more?
There are some interesting discussions here.
I think there are two main forks for using burning as a Guardian, and that is whether to us VoJ passively or actively.
Going active means you do not need 30 pts in Virtues, and opens up other synergistic traits (namely Justice is Blind/Blind Exposure/Renewed Justice).
Things to consider.
1. Combo fields/finishers.
Fire field + whirl = burning bolts (ex: Purging Flames/Hallowed Ground + GS2/GS5). Does anyone have numbers on this? More importantly, what is the synergy or lack thereof with VoJ procs? Also, since we use symbols, what impact do combos have with the symbols (which are all light fields)? I don’t even know if multiple combos are allowed, or if LIFO takes effect.
2. There are numerous synergies with aegis that may make Shattered Aegis very useful. I want to know if activating VoC could potentially trigger 5 Shatters from allies?
3. I do think torch is not useful for the passive fork, but may be much more useful for the active.
4. Superior Sigil of Generosity transfers a condition. Great for the WvW meta, but do transferred conditions also use condition duration bonuses?
5. Shimmering Defense – great way to rally in WvW. Unfortunately overlaps other useful traits.
I am going to continue playing with the active VoJ line and see what I can find.
This is turning into quite the epic fight…
