I just tried it out and you are right. It seems even worse now. I had some non crit attacks hit for as low as 1300 – which means only 2 of the 4 hits connected.
This is pretty frustrating.

Was this fixed in the most recent patch?
“Mesmer – Fixed a bug that caused some melee attacks to behave inconsistently”
Players absolutely drop precursors. A guy in [DIS] got Zap a month ago from killing someone who was up-leveled.
Wish they’d make this a feature. Kill the guy with a legendary equipped, get a higher chance of a precursor drop. :-)
That would just paste an even bigger bullseye on our backs than we have already. XD
I think it misses (partially) more often now. I occasionally still get the 6-8k hits, just far less often.

- Asura, female, any profession
Hairstyle #5 (the middle one in character creation) causes a cut in the head behind the right ear, no matter which ear is selected, some ears have smaller cuts, some bigger. Left ear is fine.
It also creates a pair of triangles at the top of the forehead that behave differently under shadows and causes the color to be constantly darker or lighter than the rest of the hair.
Sounds like a perfect way to ensure noobs can’t run dungeons unless they have end gear…. which they’d likely need to get by running dungeons.
Sounds wonderful </sarcasm>
Oh look.. another person who is playing an MMORPG (Massively MULTILAYER Online Role-playing Game) who wants to be able to solo everything….
Just because it’s multiplayer doesn’t mean you have to do everything as a team/party.
I’m pretty sure most of the people in this game don’t role play either.
This armor set is why I made my mesmer an asura; please fix it Anet!
Lol, I actually had a fully end geared level 80 human mesmer and rerolled asura for it. So sad
I’d hate this, if it weren’t for the fact that I’m doing everything in the game with rare and exotic gear. I don’t need ascended to do anything. If it takes a long time, how does it actually change the game for me.
See, in other games, you NEED to have X to complete Y. If you don’t have certain gear levels in Rift, you’re not allowed to queue for specific dungeons. Here, I don’t have that problem.
You need ascended gear to beat an equally skilled player in WvW who has ascended gear.
Hell, you need ascended gear to fight them evenly.
Surprise surprise.
The difference is small enough that that isn’t the case at all. You’d have a point if you were referring to the gap between masterworks and exotics, but not exotics and ascended. The difference is too miniscule to make a realistic impact.
The difference across a full set of ascended versus exotic is about 10-20% total DPS for a DPS set of gear, depending on how the exact stats pan out for the unreleased gear slots.
That is pretty significant.
Where did you get that number? You just made it up didn’t you?
The stat difference between a full set of exotic trinkets and a full set of ascended trinkets is 62/30/30. How exactly does that equate to 10-20% dps?

I just see it as completely unbalanced. FotM only takes 10 days (or even less if you run 10/20/30) to get a ring of your choice. Why so much longer for an accessory or amulet?
Why not add amulets/accessories to the fotm vendor for 10 pristine relics?
I mean, if anet isn’t going to add more items to that vendor over time, is there any real reason to continue doing fotm?
(edited by captaincrunch.6731)
No
Ascended armor makes all the exotics and unique named items worthless and pointless. It would kill half the games economy.Rings/amulets etc are minor items that can easily be added for ascended gear. And thats why thats what we are getting.
I have a VERY VERY hard to believing that they won’t extend the ascended gear into armor and weapons. Ascended gear is an entire new tier, nothing really suggests otherwise.
Just like there have been rumors (and perhaps some small comments) regarding the future of legendaries, and how there will likely be legendary armor as well in the future.
Think for a second ok, what happens to all the legendary gear at 1k+ gold if Ascended weapons come out? They tank in price that what.
That kills gem purchases, which kills Anet profits, which kills the game as a revinue stream, and then kills the game. Added to that is everyone who had legendary/exotics would now be totaly kitten taht they uber gear they have is now essentially worthless
and you have a massive drop in the playerbase which again kills gem purchases, yada yada.Rings and the like are fine to do, because they are non viewable “extra” items that are generally attainable for everyone with a bit of effort.
You’re being a bit naive here. Why would better gear kill anet’s profits anyways? Players would just need more money to buy new stuff – and for those that acquire gold via gem purchases, that means more gems/money for anet.
This debate was already had, months ago. They will have ascended everything and are just rolling them out bit by bit over the course of the year (or longer). Legendaries will eventually just have ascended stats.
Race: asura
Gender: female
Class: mesmer
Armor: t3 cultural light armor
The shoulderpads for the savant armor show up regardless of whether you own them or enable their appearance in the hero panel. There are also clipping issues where it seems like part of the shoulder is connected to the top part of the arm.
Secondly, the helm has been greatly increased in size (I think it’s the male helm). It looks awkward on female asuran heads.
Thirdly, there’s a small clipping issue at the left elbow.
Fourthly, as seen in the hero panel – the knees now clip through the skirt.
I’m not sure if this is intentional or not, it seems that this patch just replaced the female asura armor with the male variant – which seems to sit very oddly on the player. Please change it back if it wasn’t intended (or even if it was).
(edited by captaincrunch.6731)
Good question.
The economy in this game is absolutely terrible. Most, if not all, things you can craft, are sold at a loss. No kittening clue why people would this. Welcome to GW2
People that don’t buy the mats from the tp to craft aren’t really losing money, they are just earning less profit. When you just need the gold, you don’t care if you get 50s less if it means you don’t have to wait a day or several days to get the gold.
You can also get crafted armor from the forge.
(edited by captaincrunch.6731)
Female asura t3 cultural armor (Savant set) still does not show shoulders.
Perhaps it is just the preview window not showing, and it’s fine in game, but I’m not risking 20g on a maybe.
^They drop from the daily chest and are accountbound and have no stats. They are basically skins that still require you to use a fine transmutation stone.
Asura female hair shading issue
Race: Asura
Gender: Female
Profession: any
For some reason the 5th (or 4th) hair option for Asura females (2nd down on 2nd column) causes two triangles of hair on each side of the head to react differently to shadows, causing the hair to be discolored at all times. In direct light it’s often less noticeable, and the same if using a darker hair color – but it persists regardless of the conditions. In dim areas it can be very noticeable.

Can we get the ability to sell or buy more of an item from the context menu in bank?
Currently, you can buy more of an item from the collectibles tab, but not sell from the tab. I’d like to see both options available from the bank tab itself.
It would be a pretty helpful, and popular, feature in my opinion.
There is no body to claim loot from.
I’ve noticed that I was getting terrible drops from all the adds myself, but figured I just had a string of terrible luck. I used to get a few rares, a bunch of t6 claws, and maybe a lodestone or two from the elementals. Recently I’ve done the entire event and gotten nothing but blues and trophies several times.
The actual chest has been pretty consistent for me (a few rares every other chest, usually just greens/blues).
Having the same problem here. Lose my food every time I get the dredge fractal. I actually seem to lose it every time I switch fractals.
(edited by captaincrunch.6731)
Less gold, but cheaper prices. More gold, but higher prices. I prefer the former tbh. I’m not out there farming stacks of 250 t5 or t6 mats to sell for huge amounts of gold – I, and I’d assume most players at this point, need to buy them to craft things.
Endgame items become too hard to obtain w/ high prices and the requirement for 250 of everything to craft. T3 is pretty much the only static price endgame item – so its not really an issue.

Yesterday I bought about 2000 armored scales at roughly 8s each. That’s 160G worth. Armored scales reached a high of 22S. Let’s assume a more reasonable average of 20S.
That’s 12S profit, or 240G profit.
Why is armored scale a good investment and why will it go up?
1.) Well, right now it is the only T6 that has had a dramatic decline (bloods are declining but very slowly)
You can point to the numerous bots that are operating underwater. More often than not, out of sight = out of mind. Bots like to farm the center lake in borderlands, as well as lost shore (which is pretty deserted to begin with). You can’t point out the fractals because the water instance is not guaranteed, and you only have a certain amount of mobs to farm (no more than 25). Just like the t6 prices before the initial bot ban early in November, this is a great opportunity to buy. I have utmost confidence that Arenanet will ban them, but you need to be quick. They ban in waves, so you can expect a dramatic increase in price when it happens.
2.) Armored scale, as well as all T6 mats, will go up as soon as the precursor scavenger hunt goes into effect. It’s safe to assume that this event will make precursors relatively easier to acquire. That means more people will gain confidence in starting/continuing their legendary quest, and will look to the other mats to complete it. T6 mats, lodestones, dyes, certain foods – any material that can be bought on the outpost will rise in price. How much? I don’t know, but it will rise due to demand.
3.) No one enjoys farming underwater, and mobs are highly spaced out. When people see high T6 prices, they often go out and farm it themselves. It’s common sense to target land-based mobs since they’re easier to cluster and aoe.
On a side note:
You may look at the prices of vial of powerful blood and totem and ask why they are still high?
Vial of Powerful Blood is still high because there are currently very limited choices in farming them. In the level 80 zones, you have the beasts south of Claw of Jormag, or the harpy fractal. There isn’t a whole lot of opportunity to farm them. Not to mention that there is a very nice sceptre out there, the Eye of Rodgort, that requires 500 total vial of powerful blood to craft. Because it looks nice, it’s high in demand, and this keeps pushing the price up.Totems are still high because there is limited supply. The only mobs that drop them in the level 80 zone are the grawl and the inquest in malchor’s, the latter being underwater. So again, very limited supply.
There is tons of tightly packed mobs that drop armored scales in southsun. A regular, non-botting, farmer can get like 10-15 or more in an hour easily. Factor in botting and prices are gonna stay low.
Never thought I’d say this, but I’m actually happy to see the return of the bots. Not fond of the other hacks/cheats, but a force out there keeping prices reasonable is fine with me.

Superior runes are exotic.
Same issue, seems to happen regardless of gender/race.

I would think anet would do something with regards to crafting requirements, salvage rates, or rare drops if that happened. Too many other things are tied to ecto values to let it raise to those levels.
I’m guessing anet is thinking of doing something even now.
It will keep going up for a while longer, but I don’t know how much money you’d make investing now after the 15% tp cut.
Does no one remember halloween? They’ll have candy cane nodes and all recipes will use said candy cane.
Why is this in the suggestions forum?
I would like to suggest each piece of existing armor to have more dyeable areas – 4 for each chest/leg piece and at least 2 for everything else.
Although it’s true on almost all armor in the game, I found it rather disappointing that many of of the tier 3 armors have only 3 slots maximum to dye, with some of the pieces on my human heavy armor only having one slot.
I’m not asking for more than 4 slots, but I think all armor should have 4 on at least one or two of the pieces.
Someone just bought up every doubloon priced under 18s and then simultaneously placed a buy order for 2000 at 11.71s. Considering the volume, this means nothing will sell for less than that amount for a week or two.
It’s blatant manipulation and there’s absolutely nothing other players can do about it except suck it up and pay off the troll that’s doing this. Well, screw that. I guess I’ll just not have my legendary – I’m not paying the troll.
Please do something about this anet.
I used to make around 2g an hour farming events in orr like yourself, but I find that after the last big patch dungeon running has been more lucrative. I make almost 1g or more per run (between silver dropped from chests/bosses and selling the loot), some of which take less than 20 mins. Furthermore, if you have no use for all those tokens, you can just buy the cheap level 80 armor (30 tokens each) and salvage for ecto and sell.
This means you’ll essentially make almost 1g per run and then up to 70s if you get lucky with 3 ectos from the piece of armor. 1.7g for 20 min isn’t half bad
I mostly just do CoF and AC.
Just don’t be a market troll that ruins the game for others like the poster above me. 20-30s for a silver doubloon? Thanks a lot buddy.
(edited by captaincrunch.6731)
This has probably been suggested before, but I would love to see the ability to do bulk forges with 4 stacks of items in the mystic forge – place 4 stacks of 50 items, get 50 results – and so on.
Or, if that’s not a possibility, at least stop removing the stacks from the ingredient boxes after each forge. It can be very tiring to have to reclick the same four items dozens or even hundreds of times in a row to reforge the same set of materials.
Please add a means of acquiring copper/silver doubloons outside of the trade post and the occasional drop from chests. The market on silvers in particular has been completely screwed up now that so many people have colossus’ and are aiming for juggernaut. Prices fluctuate between 10 and 30s for one doubloon – and there’s never even 250 total to purchase. I think we need a means of creating copper doubloons from ore and dust, then a means of transmogrifying silver doubloons like the recipe for gold doubloons.
I think good recipes would be something like:
3 copper ore + tier 1 dust = copper doubloon
2 copper doubloons + tier 2 dust = silver doubloon
Please do something about these ridiculous prices on the tp and the obvious manipulation of the silver doubloon market by people buying up everything priced less than 10s and selling at 2-3x higher.
An official response does not make it a true response.
What on earth would they gain by lying about the drop rate of an item and if they changed it or not? You sound like a conspiracy nut with a statement like you made. I know people who even when you show them irrefutable evidence they still believe the opposite. But I digress.
Could depend on their definition of ‘nerf’ though. Putting salvage rates in line with what they had intended might now be considered nerfing – but could still be less than what we are used to.
My guess is that somewhere along the line they put salvages back in line with the 50%/25% descriptors on the salvage kits. Whether that 50% applies to 3 or 1 is what I’m not so sure about.
1.5 ectos on average for a bl kit and .75 ectos for a master/mystic sound right? That’s probably what I get now, but I know I was getting much better than that before on the master kits at least.
(edited by captaincrunch.6731)
They went up in price? Wow! That sucks. I guess i can no longer get cheap rune of the pirates xD
I wonder why they went up. Maybe more pre-cursors from the event so more people want them for their legendary?
They went up because there were only a few hundred on the tp and some people bought them all up for juggernaut. Now there’s only 100 or so, priced 10s or more.
I don’t mind not getting a precursor (rewarding lots of other players with them made them actually somewhat reasonably priced on the tp for a short while), but I kinda did think it was pretty sorry that those of us that ran the full 2+ hour event chain were rewarded the same as someone who came along during the last event.
Perhaps there should have been rewards during the other stages as well, with the final chest having fewer items.
I’d assume because there’s no passion flower shards, crystals, orbs, etc.
I have the same issue – two of our 5 got trapped in the cage at the end and couldn’t get the chest. We finished, but both of us got nothing for it.
I do farm. I don’t understand why anyone would buy at those prices.
It’s was only “easier” for the guys that rushed and got their legendary early and bought mats at fire sale prices.
3g lodestones and 30s t6 mats isn’t “harder” – it’s just ridiculous.
They should give you a chance for more than one of any tier mat from a single mob. I don’t see why a huge drake only drops one scale or fang – or a troll gives one tiny vial of blood. Or they should buff the drop rate of bags from mobs.
That would help prices a lot.
Like NoOneShotU mentioned, this is because the mystic forge spits out crafted exotics (I personally think that is stupid though).
Also, my guess would be that lots of people crafted a bunch of exotic gear when it was profitable and found that no one was buying – so now there’s a lot of excess supply and people are just cutting their losses and trying to get rid of them.
Just to be clear again. There is no DR for salvaging. There’s no stealth nerf on ectos.
This is all I needed to hear. Thanks.
Apparently the RNG fairy still hates me though.
Dungeon grinders are also, what, 5% of the GW2 community?
People who want more gear-grinding because they “already have their legendary” are, what, 0.2% of the GW community?
I think both of these are outnumbered by the volume of folks who got their exotics and were actually happy to be done with stressing about stats.
Some people want more content to strive for besides legendaries – not after legendaries. Not everyone wants to devote 1-2 months of nonstop grinding to get a weapon that lots of others will also have in a few months.
Yeah the thing I dont understand about this is when another mmo player complains about “no endgame” they are flamed and told thats not what gw is about. They say endgame is about exploring, crafting, blah blah blah. So my question is then why do you care about this gear change? All your exploring is still there. Crafting isnt changing. Map completion wont include this dungeon. No one can inspect you to see you dont have ascended gear.
For sure. I’ve been told time and time again to basically just screw off and go find another game if I want progression, endgame, or any sort of goal to work towards outside of legendaries. Well, I’m glad I stuck around.
about 4000 posts about this issue in two days lets me wonder: how come the conclusion that most of the gw2 players want a gear progression?
Because most of the gw2 players aren’t here on gw2forums.
I think this is great and look forward to this new content.
Those of us that don’t agree with the hardcore gw1 purists on this forum have been told time and time again by everyone here that if what we want is end game progression what we should do is basically screw off and go find another game. Well, I’m glad I stuck around.
Thanks Anet.
Why is everyone complaining so much? DIOS MIO MAN
Anet just made a brilliant move in my opinion.
Opening new fronts to this game, that has a lot of potential, and now when they are trying to extend it, you’re all whining and whining and jesus christ more whining.Stop it and let them do the changes quietly, they are more then welcomed.
Agreed. These forums can be pretty bad whenever anything is introduced that’s different. Don’t let it fool you into thinking this is the mindset of the majority. These forums represent a small minority of the community that’s pretty vocal about these things.
I’m pretty excited about this new stuff.
Can we please get a stats display on the character select screen?
I’m not asking for the full hero panel, but I’d like to be able to compare stats between my different characters without having to load each up individually.
