Out of nowhere (as in no hardware or software changes and it was working last night) my game will no longer start. It initializes and then the Coherent UI crashes causing the game to crash. None of the fixes from a couple years ago floating around the internet seem to work. Anyone else having this problem?
Log out and log back in. Fixed it for my wife.
Best way to never play the game again is to give all your stuff away and delete your characters. That way when you try and come back you won’t want to because of all the work. Plus someone out there gets to use your stuff and recycle your character names.
But as others had mentioned there are quite a few PvP arenas specifically for dailies that involve no player vs player but instead player cooperating with player.
To use today as an example you could easily complete the dailies without pvp/wvw or setting foot in a level 80 zone.
Daily Ascalon Vista Viewer – Completed inside Black Citadel (City)
Daily Shiverpeaks Forager – Completed in Wayfarer Hills (Level 1-15 zone)
Daily Bloodtide Coast Event Completer – Completed in Bloodtide Coast (Level 45 – 55 zone)
I understand not every day is like this but I feel it is more often than not.

Agreed. I have an afro stylin’ asuran mesmer that desperately needs a pair of these.
The best tip is to farm gold and buy what you need. It’s much more efficient than trying to farm the specific mats you need.

Will be available thru April 19th.
I don’t know about Course Load counting. Sorry.
Did you look at the legendary collection in the achievements section to look at what you need to do? Each item you need to craft or gather is shown and a brief description of what to do. When in doubt look it up in the wiki.
I don’t know which skill points you might be referring to but I know a good deal of those champs have already been downscaled to vets.
So far I’ve been a part of taking two guild halls with 5 man teams. Both times it took a bit of luck as well as a bit of timing but we managed to be successful 2 out of 3 tries. If you don’t want to get outside help you just need to have the 5 people participating from your guild be on their game and have the appropriate gear.
I will also say that the difficulties for a small guild don’t end after the taking of the guild hall. The guild I’m in has 5 active members so collecting hundreds of silverwaste shovels has been the biggest time sink for us. A larger guild definitely has the advantage here. Keep up hope because you can still make good progress. I’m sure we’re well behind many other guilds but we’re set to hit level 40 with the favor gained next week. Enjoy the journey!
Short answer:
No
Longer answer that might help:
You could have someone send you 10 messages, filling up your queue causing no more messages to ever be displayed. Not exactly what you want but a possible workaround.
No mounts. Yes gliding.
I guess if you bought it all it would be expensive in terms of gold. I have a guildie who has the skin and didn’t spend one copper on getting it. YMMV

First priority: remove the gate that prevents small guilds being able to enjoy this content.
How small of a guild are you in and how far have you progressed?
Currently I’m in a 4 man guild and we just hit level 29 tonight. I don’t know how fast or slow other guilds of a similar size are progressing so I have nothing to compare it to.
I certainly don’t feel left out of this content.
No, I really do.
Spoiler much in the title?
If you ever have a question as to whether keep a character or not you should always delete the character and start over. It’s the only way to be sure.
I know that I got the achievement after I was done with that story section. Everyone was dead and the exit map button was there. Just kept going until I got it. Other than that I didn’t do anything special.
Apparently it was exploitable. No ETA on return.

I actually have the opposite request. If only there was a toggle switch on these items so you could choose to have the day or night effect.
Are they identical items?
@VaaCrow- ahh I knew someone would say just what you did. Okay, then I suppose Anet advertised falsely hmm? You shouldn’t have to get full ascended or full exotics to do the new expansion. Assuming EVERYONE does is kitten poor design actually and quite ignorant when it comes to observation.
Now you have been away for a long time but in three years it is a fair assumption that anyone who played the game and wanted a full set of exotics would have it by now. Whether you agree with it or not level 80 content is set up with exotic level gear in mind.
Getting GOLD isn’t that easy either unless you’re a math whiz with great foresight in economics who doesn’t do much aside from buying low and selling for triple flips on the TP. I confess I’m NOT that type of person who can do that very well.
You could also get exotics from WvW, PvP, dungeons or Karma. I don’t do any of the things you describe for the TP and I usually make a couple gold a day just from my item drops. Also don’t be afraid to use your laurels to make some cash.
So this leaves a person to buying gold with gems for real money.. or risking their account with third party sites for better bang for their buck. If you’re playing anything that doesn’t require berserker’s, soldier’s or knight’s armor in Heavy armor type, you’d be correct! However if you are unlucky and roll a heavy wearing class then you get to pay 5-6 gold per piece of exotic gear from the TP because karma isn’t that lucrative of a currency to obtain anymore.
If you are the kind of person who wants your reward immediately then these are the only ways to go about it. In game rewards are usually earned slowly with currency or if you’re lucky a drop you need. Again, GW2 assumes you’ve been gearing your characters for the last 3 years, not the last 3 days.
Nowhere in my post did I insinuate anyone should just ‘faceroll’ it. I simply stated my experience as a player who’s returned from a VERY long absence to agree with the sentiment small guilds DO get shafted here and the only solution IS to amalgamate with a larger guild. There IS no care for small guilds, it’s ‘get big, get good or get lost’ with many people who comment on the forums here. Seriously mature. I’m not going to spell out simple logic and I do not need to explain why this makes sense in a connect the dot fashion.
While it is true that larger guilds can take advantage of economies of scale that smaller guilds can not it does not mean that smaller guilds are blocked out from doing the same activities. They must realize they are smaller and have more tempered short term goals and an expanded time frame for their long term goals.
How do small guilds annoy you?
My guild did it with 5 members. 2 warriors, 1 dragon hunter, 2 rangers. It was close but we pulled it out in the end. I wouldn’t have wanted to try it with any less than 5.
Just like Znake says it is possible with a small amount of people. My guild did it with 5 but we took our time and didn’t push every spawn as some were in bad spots. We ended up winning 5-4 against the mordrem.
My guild unlocked it with 5. I’m not sure we could have done it with less.
It appears that the fix is in next Tuesday’s patch.
It was added into the world during the season 2 living story (pre HoT).
I don’t know how small your guilds are but the guild I’m in has been able to unlock the guild hall and progress through the buildings all with 5 active members. We have received no outside help. We are currently at level 14.
If you need help unlocking the hall, ask. If you need guidance on how to unlock a building Dulfy has a pretty good guide on how to get started.

I always wonder what size of a guild people are complaining about. What is a small guild? My guild has 5 active members and we’ve unlocked the guild hall with no outside help and have been steadily building our upgrades. Very seldom do we have our aetherium sitting at max. The shovels are a pain in the behind in our small guild but that’s the only issue so far. For comparison my guild is currently level 12.
How did you have a 64bit client before HoT?
We did guild puzzle. 2 of the 6 of us didn’t get the reward.
It should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2

Unless the wiki is wrong they still drop on those maps in those locations.
It’s only a little over $5.3M USD…
I just upgraded my processor and motherboard to those exact models and made a huge difference in my experience. Now I’m running 60fps with max graphics settings and no lag issues even in world boss fights. My ram stayed at 16GB and my video card is only a GeForce GTX560Ti.
I’m too busy playing and having fun in HoT to convince you.
shrug
It is intentional. Putting miniatures in the forge doesn’t unlock them.
I’m assuming you’re talking about these:

If not I’m not sure what you’re looking for.
well no, but I would imagine that most gems used in the store comes from people actually spending money.
How is it a gold sink if people use money to buy gems?

If you scroll down to the rewards chart you can see what you gain at the end. Also at higher levels you have chances to randomly drop higher quality mists essences.
While unfortunate for people who often delete characters the birthday rewards have always been character based and not account based.
I will have missed all three scheduled beta weekends due to my work schedule as well. You know who’s fault that isn’t? A-Nets. They want as much feedback as possible during beta events and the best time to do that are on weekends.
Just look at it like this, when the game comes out it will all be new!
I’ve always said that nothing in this game should be subject to RNG and that all bosses have some sort of merchant attached to them and that each time you defeat them you gain a bonus chest with some form of currency. You can spend this currency to get the rare drops. The caveat is they would be account bound so you wouldn’t screw with any markets while still allowing you to progress towards your goal of a mini/weapon/skin/etc.
And yet the fireball the elementalist conjures does more damage because your power is higher. Power doesn’t mean physical strength.
ANet offices are in Seattle, Washington.
They are in Bellevue, WA which has no bearing on the discussion since there are no game servers located there.
