So after reading this post I came across people responding in the matter that disturbed me a little bit.
You cannot say “you play for skins” “you play for this”
If this person’s goal is to farm allot of gold the game should be offering him a variable gaming experience.
A good game in my eyes is a game that attract many different kind of people and furfill all their needs, the explorers, the pvpers, the pvers, the gold farmers, the rp’s and so fourth

I think we all agree on that this game needs a test server where they can tweak stuff everyday for perfection. At least till now the internal testing did not work out so good…

we should ask Colin and his team to form a 30+ zerg and do these Orr temple event…maybe they will see how ridiculous these events has became since the patch.

It is very unlikely they actually tested these changes before implementing them. Especially considering how unskilled at the game the QA testers are… some of their highlights were:

1. Before launch they couldn’t successfully complete explorable mode dungeons. They said they were tuned to be super difficult and they weren’t good enough to complete them.
2. More recently, they stated they were unable to successfully complete some of the guild challenges because they were so challenging and required perfect coordination and teamwork.

So yeah… it is almost a certainty that they did not test these changes because they aren’t skilled enough to complete them.

Source please, although these claims do sound fairly possible.

GW2 really just needs a test live server, like nearly every other MMO has for fairly significant reasons. And don’t give me the b******t response of they can’t afford it because not pay2play, because they darn well can afford it, or if they wanted to be stingy they could convert a server from each data center into a test live server.

Word on the test servers .
And also they should listen to the players on this forum.
I see some amazing ideas on this forums every day. But they just go on and hit the dust

Well he is saying why he things the game is not for him so imo this is constructive feedback not just complaining so its not against the rules. But i guess arenanet make their own rules sometimes

Personal expirance with wvw

Hi
First of all I want to say that I love this game and I love how they bring old daoc memories back.
But this does not say that the game is perfect and there are still some things that needs to be changed.
I have trust in A-net and I know they work hard to make us players happy.
Anyway here are my feedback on wvw

1. How you gain wvwxp

You should also gain xp if you buff your teammates, if you heal, and other stuff as well. Not just limited to kills and events.

2. Borderlands player limit.

Under 150 players is just to low.. I respect the developers that its hard to build a stable server with many players, this may sound harsh but if you can’t do it you should not have made the wvw in the first place. This is essential and many major guilds quit this game cause they are stuck in the wvw queue for 40 mins every night. And if they go afk for 15 min they are out… This also makes it hard to build a very large guild that always fight together.

3. Guilds

The claiming of keeps needs to be changed
The overall benefits of running only with the guild needs to be buffed
Time to live up game name.

4. Commander

Lame that anyone can pay 100g and lead the way. Only high ranked players and skilled leaders should get this title.

5. Borderlands wp’s.

Eternal Battleground are fine. But i don’t like that your team can have 4 waypoints in home bg. It just splits the team and make the battle less epic.

6. Orbs.

I understand that you removed the orbs cause of hackers and imbalance issues but there need to be some kind of reward when you take your enemy’s final keep.

Maby a huge buff for 20 min?
Maby a short punishment for the other server?
Maby lions arch gets attacked in the enemy server?
There are allot of alternatives but there need to be some fun reward to take the final keep, the same goes for stonemist, there should be some kind of reward to have it. Not only some points but a more noticeable reward, maby a dungeon ?

7. Guards Scaling

Make the guards and keep lords tougher against bigger teams and easier against smaller teams.

If they change this thing i believe that wvw will be truly epic and people will take it more seriously

And also sorry for the English
I speak 5 languages and its hard to keep track of them all……..

When i read this I took it more as redesign of how you gain items. At the moment you are forced to do fractals for items even if you hate pve. I know you can get the items from laurels but it just take more time. There should be a equal fast way to get the items in wvw to.

Blizzard lisens to the playerbase at some point yeah, they are also smart that they let people deveolp addons that they implement later as official addons. But the main reasons that wow is so big is that it’s an endless grind sucking you in like a drug. And thats the reason i play gw2. I dont want an addcting game that you NEED to play 10 hours a day. Anyway i agree with the op that some things really need to get redesigned. And A-net should lisen to the players here at the forums cause there is a ton of forum posts every day that have really smart opinions.

Ill give them a cupple of more months

So the main goal of Arenaet was the you should be able to do whatever you like and get rewarded for that.

I loved that and i had a blast leveling up to 80, doing whatever I wanted exploring, doing events, crafting and so on….

But when the game hits 80 your main motivational mechanic disappears and that is the XP.

Now you are forced to do certain different things if you want to progress.

Why not keep the xp mechanic and make it like a currency at 80 or implement it some other way?

I think this is a good solution that will make people do what they really enjoy in the game and would defiantly bring me back playing GW2

Well arena net said that you should be able to do what you want and not forced to do something just cause its rewarding. This works perfect with the xp. But as soon as you hit 80 the xp is almost useless and game over. The xp should be the MAIN rewarding this in the game cause it enables you to do whatever and get good rewards….

People are so ignorant. Do you think the person that made this thread want the mount for the speed buff?

Then he whould make a thread more like: More swiftness spells in the game

The people that want mounts want it mostly for the cosmetic thing.

And why is there a problem on adding this ?

Its not about having good gear in the game its about to be able to use the good gear for at least something. Why have a ferrari when there is no roads. If you make wvw equal there is almost no point of getting gear for people that like pvp, this will result even more people quit the game

They want you to explore all aspects of the game. When you’re done with your daily, go run a dungeon or join some WvW.

Why not have mounts if they got a swiftness buff only. Then it becomes almost pure cosmetic….

raise the laurel’s required to buy stuff.
Make the daily reward 10laurells.
Make you get 1 laurell when you fill up the xp bar so you get rewarded for doing what you like!

XP at lvl 80

I dont want the lvl cap to be raised i just want to keep the feeling of progression you have when you lvl up but use it as a karma rewarder instead. Every time you max the xp bar you get a karma reward visable. This is a great thing that makes you feel rewarded when exploring and killing random stuff.

Well the thing is that getting xp is a main thing of the game.
The feeling when you get xp is amazing when the things fly down to you xp bar and light up.
This was the main thing why i played and now its gone.
Toning down karma points from other places is easy.
I just think that players that just hit 80 needs to get compromised for the loss of play motivation when the xp thing disappears. Maby you will disagree but this a psychological thing that put many players off the game.

Getting xp for kills and discovery at 80 feels stupid and worthless.

This should be replaced to karma rewards when you kill mobs and discover stuff. It dont have to be allot of karma but it will improve the feeling of the game by miles.

Your suggestion was based on the idea you got less than before as you do not get experience. This is not correct. You are not getting less than before. As a result I think the idea is simply “I currently want more karma so if you could double it that would be great, thanks.” I just do not think it is a very thought through idea that try’s to solve an issue that doesn’t exist.

I am saying that the main goal in the game before level 80 is the xp. When you get to lvl 80 you do the same stuff but without the xp part. In that way its less rewarding. And it needs to be backed up with something else at level 80 as a karma boost.

Fun, what ever happened to doing things because you enjoyed it? Even then you get rewards, you get karma, you get experience, you get gold, you can use all these things to your benefit.

What does this have to do with my suggestion?

The feeling that you are doing the same this as before but less rewarding is not good. Even if you just want to have fun or if you want to grind like a zombie. And I am convinced that my suggestions is one of the best ways to fix this

Not really. You are suggesting removing experience, which you will need, just to double something you currently want more. That is not really thinking about the long term.

I am just saying that being level 80 should give some benefits. The so called carrot is still there cause the best gear is really expensive, its just that the way there is not fun if you do the same thing as before but less rewarding-

Gosh waht is ist with all those peopel needing “a carrot”? Go look up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operant_conditioning_chamber and be ashgamed of yourselfs. It is really amazing how the mmo industry of the past and espacially that 3 letter game has conditioned some mmo players into zombies.

You know there is someplace in the middle its not just everything or nothing.

Dubble the karma is a small thing, gw2 will still have gear cap. Its not like its wow all over again with endless griding for gear with new patches every month

You still earn experience, it is just used to earn you more skill points rather than levels.

Even if its does my point still stands

Its like going to work donig the same stuff but your salery is 50% lower. its a horrible feeling.

Being max level should be rewarding!

First of all sorry for my bad English

So when you are leveling 1-80 your main goal is the leveling process,
the main reward you get is experience.
And suddenly you hit 80 and you are going to do the same stuff but with no xp reward.
It just removes a carrot, who want to do a event that feels like its half as rewarding as before?
1 solution to this is just to double the karma gained from events when you are 80.

Just my opinion…

So wvw is about winning right?
So what do you get when you server wins? nothing?

My suggestions are
1. Make a big firework in lions arch when you server win.
2. Make a big statue that you can /kneel and get a good buff, the statue stays in 1 week until the next game is done.
3. Make a server wide buff that last some hours after the win.
