Set FPS limiter to none
When i limit my fps to either 30 or 60 sometimes the game refuses to give me more than 15/45 fps respectively
Restart the game after you remove the limitation and it should be fine
If this does not fix the issue make sure your motherboard is not configured to save energy at the expense of cpu performance.
Check both the bios and the software Asus AI Suite (in case you installed it)

My agressive attitude is due to your implication that Anet SHOULD do something to fix this, when that is not the case. If you would like them to try and do something about it, how about you ask nicely and maybe approach the Support team in that manner rather than being insulting about their first level of support personnel. No company is going to man the phones with a network engineer…..you are going to have to jump thru some hoops to get escalated in ANY support situation….that is NOT unusual.
Sorry if I ruffled your feathers, but the attitude that this is something Anet should be fixing sends the wrong message to everyone that reads these kinds of posts. I did not mean anything personal in my comments and sorry if you took it that way.
I never said anet “SHOULD” do anything neither did I insult their staff.
There is nothing wrong with asking them for help on the TECHNICAL SUPPORT sub forum.
My knowledge about internet routing is very limited, I dont know whether they can do anything about this issue or not but It would be very nice to get a response from them.
So how about you let Anet eventually (or not) handle this instead of coming here to harass me for no reason. Scroll up and read what I wrote, you will see that I was respectful and fair.

I fail to see how ANY of this evidence points a finger at ANet…..or makes them responsible for fixing the problem. No doubt they should contact Level 3 about the issue (but so CAN your ISP….to whom YOU pay money).
Level 3 is at fault and your only recourse is to show this evidence to YOUR ISP and demand they report this issue to LEVEL 3 for correction (they either have an internal route issue or a bad piece of hardware). Since ALL of Anet’s US traffic goes to the Anet datacenter in Dallas, this is NOT a generic issue or EVERY player in the US would be reporting this issue (and they are not….).
You really should read the thread properly before replying with such an AGRESSIVE attitude.
I did not say it was anet’s fault nor did i “point my finger” at any point, I merly asked for their help.
The level 3 router is very close to anet’s data center, I do not live in the USA I doubt there is anything my ISP can do about it but maybe ANET can contact them (Level3) and have traffic re-routed because anyone else getting directed to that lossy router is bound to have the same issue I have right now, its on anet’s best intrest to have this issue sorted out.

I have been lagging for 2 months, The lag started about 1 month after the mega server was first implemented.
At first I thought it could be my ISP but recently I ran some tests using PingPlotter and the map IP provided by the in game chat command “/ip”.
Ping and packet loss are fine until the data goes through Dallas1.Level3.net servers when that happens I get a massive 33-100% packet loss.
Sometimes I get lucky and I’m placed into a map that does not forward data through one of their lossy routers but most of the time the lag makes my connection miserable
I’d like to know if there is anything I can do besides paying a monthly fee for a VPN that may or may not help me fix the issue.
This is the full address of one of their lossy routers “ae-2-2503.ear1.Dallas1.Level3.net”
On this website you can see a full report on the router’s terrible performance http://www.dslreports.com/routerwatch/ae-2-2503.ear1.Dallas1.Level3.net
I have a question about the refunds.
I assumed duplicate purchases made with gems bought with gold were not elegible to recieve gem refunds so asking for it never crossed my mind until today when somebody told me I was eligible.
Can somebody confirm this? I have a few duplicates that i bought using gold to gems conversion, am I eligible for a gem refund?

first of all thank you for the feature patch
You guys have been very flexible in the past, could you please re-think this move
We trust you anet, you can find another solution, something that does not involve turning items into tonics.
Make the un-available town cloths slots on the locker invisible for people who do no have the items or put them back for sale on gem store in a bundle to save space…
Fingers crossed
Hey there Sab team
I just wanna point something out, next time sab is around you guys might want to think about new ways to reward players, as better rewards will likely motivate more people to play.
Back in april, when sab’s first iteration was released, there wasn’t alot going on in game, living story was taking it’s first steps into this new 2 weeks format and open world farming (orr) was nerfed so sab came along as very pleasant surprise that was both fun, different from anything we had previously seen and rewarding for those working on legendaries (baubles -> ob shards conversion).
Since april the game has changed. It introduced a couple new “long term” goals and rewards like 500 crafting, ascended weapons, champion farm, scarlet invasions, world boss daily chests, account wide magic find etc.
Meanwhile sab took a step back in regard to loot, obsidian shards were removed and no effort was made to reward the portion of the player base that is curretly working on legendaries, crafting 500, ascended weapons and account magic find
So let me wrap this up by thanking you guys for creating sab, this is definitely my favorite content with or without loot, personally i don’t mind, I wish you all the best
P.S Thank you Josh Foreman for being such an outstanding developer and person
wow nice to see all 3 of you outside the spvp subforum, thx for the sneak peek, all the qol changes are looking great
Can I share links here?
I hope the answer is yes because here it is hehe
Just remember: higher hp doesn’t necessarily = more challenging content
I agree. Unfortunately damage and defense scaling reaches a point where it no longer conveys a sense of progression and challenge. For example, once creatures start one-shotting every player, it doesn’t matter how much extra damage they do. We’re also looking into how to meaningfully extend the scalability of FOTM.
Hey Anthony what are your thoughts on cliffside?
That one is, imo, on par with dredge in terms of lenght, whenever my group gets that one they always complain “it’s too long”.
If you guys could reduce its lenght without messing too much with that specific fractal’s concept it would be awesome.
Cliffside might be my favorite dungeon of all times, it is both beutiful and epic.

Can we have an answer for why is this system in place?
I believe the intention was to make it more difficult to get the bauble achievements, part of the super adventure box was to make it like it was back in the early platform days, hence why there is no mini map or any achievements with noticeable progression.
No no, not really.
They wanted to put the fractal prompt system and bauble counter in but couldnt due to techinical limitations.

Hey there guys,
I was wondering did you forget to add the iconic banana dance to the “super banana” mini?
The banana from W2 Z3 does it right before it attacks. It would be awesome if the mini did it as well.
By the way thanks for the last update Josh and Vince you guys are awesome.

There were 5 trunks instead of one and none of them had the Glove symbol that alowed me to hit the trunk and ring the bell, they did not seem to have collision/hit boxes either.
By the way I ran both zones solo from start to finish.

The darts by the ramp at floor 2 are going straight through the gong, killing me everytime I get to that point.
I did it multiple times and i can guarantee im not lagging at all.
Thanks in advance
Your video only proves Spirits need to be redesigned badly
Most GW2 BOSS encounters are built around aoe/cleave/cone damage.
It won’t matter where you position your spirits on most fights as they will be dead pretty quick. (archdiviner, cof p1 last boss and p2 last boss, dredge fractal, bloomhunger and pretty much anything with high aoe damage).
Watch your own video closely, pay attention to the party window! Your teammates were out of the spirits range most of the time because you had to place them so far away from the action. That specific enconter is an easy one without aoe spam so on most cases it only gets worse.

Dont forget jaguar’s maul was nerfed, add it to your list
Hey there guys,
I wanted some input on this topic
I use jaguar most of the time but honestly I never pay much attention to numbers.
Has maul really been nerfed “again”?
The op of the topic below states it was. He has some data but I would really like to hear from more people what they think.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/ranger/Cats-rangers-you-re-not-gonna-like-this
By the way the reason I created another topic is because his topic title wasn’t very clear, likely for this reason it did not get many replies.

Thanks.
Also it may be pretty close to medium. My point was that the norn heavy looks pretty medium to my eye, which is part of what makes it cool to me.
hey Anthony this is pretty cool, this guy is the first npc with Unique looks is’nt that right?
it will make him stand out more.
We tried giving them reduced damage from AOE/attacks, and it opened up other problems – mainly that a team of 2 rangers could take on almost any boss in a dungeon by smart swapping of pets and letting the pet take aggro. It’s unfortunate, but we can’t just increase and decrease numbers until pets are perfect – we’ve tried really hard, but numbers are not going to fix pets without letting them break everything. We have to look deeper into mechanics, AI, player actions, and skills.
As much as they seem vestigial, the “attack” and “return” keybinds are really the only thing that can give the player any control, and they can be a bit unwieldy. I would recommend though that if you have never tried using those keybinds, try them out the next time you’re in a dungeon, your pet will thank you for it.
Also, I find that a ranged pet does better in dungeons. My typical pet setup for dungeons is Hyena (because having 2 knockdowns and another hyena is super good), and a Drake (almost any). I know this is contradictory to what I just said about ranged pets being good, but I use the keybinds a lot and that dramatically increases survivability when taking 2-3 hits is all you want the pet to do.
Spiders and devourers can be really good to bring because of the fact that they are ranged. Devourers have an escape from melee ability as well, and spiders have CC, which helps keep them alive while you reposition and pet-swap (or return) in a more favorable place. Tankier pets require more management, but once you get there and know how to use it (in combination with pet swap), you’ll find you’re not facing the death cooldown as often as before.
That and you can name your spiders “Cuddles” and your devourer “Citizen Snips” and get a good laugh out of people’s reactions.
Thanks for breaking the 4 month silence on the ranger’s forum Rob, you and John Smith (trading post dev) are the best.
It’s nice to know you guys have tried reducing AOE’s damage received by pets. It’s too bad it didn’t work on GW as this seemed to be the most obvious solution used on games like WOW where pets takes reduced damage as long it or the owner aren’t holding agro.
I hope eventually your team figures out a way to improve pets on dungeons.
(edited by danikaix.4670)
It’s bad when even the staff can’t stick to the topic.
I think its worse when staff doesn’t say anything at all, but I can see where you are coming from. Figured I’d post it here since there have been a few threads and posts about it throughout the dungeon forum.
Hey Robert,
Thanks for keeping in touch with the community. You’re one of the most active developers on the forum, keep up the good work.
People can be pretty tough on the internet mostly because of anonymity.
Don’t let destructive posts/thoughts disencourage you.
Patch notes are out, sadly
Ranger
- Guard: Pets will no longer guard areas that should be inaccessible to them.
- Crippling Talon: Cooldown of this ability has been reduced from 18 seconds to 15 seconds.
- Empathic Bond: Fixed a bug that wouldn’t apply transferred conditions to pets. This trait now transfers three conditions to the ranger’s pet every 10 seconds rather than all of them.
- Hawk and Eagle now have their own unique icons instead of sharing one.
- Path of Scars: This ability’s damage has been normalized between traited and non-traited versions. Damage has been increased by 85% when not traited.
- Icy Screech: The White Moa activated ability now applies 3 seconds of Chill, and the skill fact has been updated appropriately.
While Colin is doing a good job providing a face in general, I believe they are not in the professions because they don’t have a lot to say at the moment. Core game is obviously not prioritized over monthly events. I mean, you got to pull them off or you wouldn’t be able to market on oodles of free content. I honestly don’t look for a lot of stabilization and balancing in the core game in the near term. I think monthly events and fire drills (Laurels) have taken up the development resources since 11/15. I do hope they get to the professions and core systems soon. I notice they are hiring and that’s a good sign. I logged into my necro last night (lvl29) and just decided to wait for them to address condition damage builds…just not worth the effort leveling till then.
I do get your point I can’t help but to wonder though if keeping quiet is a better solution than giving us a heads up about what is to come, how they feel about hot topics and major concerns regarding professions balance and bugs.
I do understand the concept of “backlash” but is it a good enough reason to justify almost 4 months of silence?
Instead they could be more open, discuss the hot topics and mitigate the “backlash”, that would likely be caused by the gap of time between acknowledging the issues and fixing it, by explaining the nature of software development, prioritization, etc.
I wish we had more initiatives like the “State of the game”(spvp) interviews hosted by GW2GURU. That’s an excellent format that could address professions, dungeons and WvW on a monthly basis.

Well guys its It’s about time we do something, bring this discussion outside this thread.
The balance team is doing a good job engaging the Spvp community, but ironically the profession section is completely ignored. Almost 4 months without a single word from them on the ranger forum I believe the other professions aren’t doing much better either.
We can do something to change this situation I created a Thread on the “general discussion” to raise awareness for this issue. Please stop by and share your point of view and opinion on the topic
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Community-Engagement-feedback/first#post1467426
Hey there,
I’m creating this thread to raise awareness about an issue.
Some sections of this forum could use more attention from developers.
For instance the profession section has been collecting dust for a long while.
Last time we had an official word on the *ranger forum was almost *4 months ago.
The balance team is doing a good job engaging the Spvp community, but ironically the profession section is completely ignored.
Please post your positive/negative feedback about “community engagement” and keep it constructive, the point of this Thread is to improve developer/user communication.
It can also act as a permanent STOW as long you dont need to jump

I will give you an honest advice go to Heart of the Mists (spvp area) and test it by yourself.
People love to make claims without presenting any evidence at all, for all i know they could be right, but why should you take their word as a fact?
I ran some personal tests yesterday, i know exactly which are the best dps-wise weapons which ones are the most reliable across the board as well as their strengths and weakness.
That said grab a stop watch and notepad time your performance with different weapons and builds against dummies, write down your damage and make your own conclusions.
Glass Cannon is the only viable build IMO.
Its not even close to being viable, evasion tank and trap ranger are the only real viable builds. We can pull off melee ranger but its still squishy, and other classes melee better.
How does trap ranger build works, build and gear stats?
Hey guys as the title says I was wondering, can anyone point out a good guide for CoF path 2?
I did it for the first time today, the so called “kiting event” felt really stupid, my party sacrificed itself over and over again in order to go through it.
So far I checked a few YouTube videos nobody has done it on a different way tho.
It seem like farming CoF gear will take a while, any advice i can get will be much appreciated
Planetside 2 reminds me a lot of WvW in more than a single way. I think you guys should give it a try it might spark some good ideas for GW2 WvW.
I know it is a FPS but the similarities lie in the “capture the keep”, “siege weapons” and big consistent maps that both games employ plus PS2 has a pretty solid system to reward players for supporting, destroying enemy siege and defending facilities that encourages engaging on defense and support activities.
Hey guys let me know what you think about this Longbow build. I will use it mostly for
WvWvW.
Pros, cons and any further advice would be much appreciated
I’m not really sure what you are trying to prove by showing other classes doing the same thing.
Just showing that pretty much every class can run a glass cannon spec with high dmg/burst, and almost every other class is also more viable while running full dmg builds, a bs thief can just down (Blowing all his stuff for the combo) one squishy or low hp target every 45 secs, and sometimes can’t even stomp it because he’s going to die if focused with downed skills (Wars dealing 1.5 2k dmg just throwing rocks…seriously? Not talkin’ about vengeance or necros dealing dmg while healing self, channeling on stealth targets)….so i can’t get the point about raging only on thief’s section… You hate glass cannons? Hate them all…but without high dmg specs bunkers would rule the world, well they already rule pvp…i mean they’ll rule even more…
Good point, imo they need to tone down high burst and bunkers to allow balanced specs to stand out. Spamming 2 skills to kill someone isn’t what i would call a skill based combat system.

1. There are pros and cons about downed state, i’d rather no downed state at all on SPVP because it would make pvp a lot more cleaner, 8vs8 right now is a big messy zerg.
2. Diversity and freedom of choice, yes always its a good thing. Big cap circles are easy to understand for spectators. GW2 Dev team has to decide are they making this game for actual players or their imaginary ESPORT spectators?
3. I haven’t anything to say on the topic, i guess its a good thing.
4. More diversity again, its good
5. Improve it instead of removing for instance give a small penalty for deserting.
6. I agree the game should be more rewarding for those doing SPVP.
7. Duel! Yes
8. Pvp Crafting is THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING for me regarding SPVP.
My character is level 40 (rank 12 pvp) I love my level 35 cultural gear.
It’s sad that I won’t EVER acquire it on SPVP due to the the fact it takes about 7.500.00 glory to reach the required level.
This linear gear progression is way too grindy. Guild wars 2 offers different ways to experience PVE and WvW content and character progression, this is not true when it comes to SPVP tho. SPVP is repetitive (lack of game modes, arena and duel) and grindy as hell

What armor rune?
i never managed to do more than 9k (mark of the wild+ rampage as one+ mighty roar)
(edited by danikaix.4670)
I’m still new to this game when i said “shortcut” I didn’t mean glitch or bug, rather a faster, legit, way to get a specific piece of gear instead of going all the way to glory 80 to get the only armor i like since 7.5 mil glory is way out of my league.
But its alright i guess we cant always have what we want right?
Thx for your replies you guys you are great.
isn’t that 7,500,000 glory? http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Glory_Vendor
is there a shortcut? Maybe doing tournament spvp?
Anyway thanks for your reply.
Hey guys I’ve been wondering what rank is the Spvp cultural gear, Is there a relatively quick way to earn it?
I play Spvp moderately (@ about 300 games played so far) I doubt i will ever reach a high rank as even rank 10-11 is feeling a little bit grindy to me.
As a norn ranger I love the thick leather and fur that the cultural gear provides, my character doesn’t look like a norn wearing anything else (in my opinion ofc).
Any advice, on this topic, you guys can give me are welcome, thank you.
Okay guys first I would like to ask everyone to be polite, let me know your opinion and more importantly pros/cons/improvements to this suggestion.
Jumping puzzles, dungeons, entire map or area completion, character story, crafting and related achievements are all things I enjoy doing.
I cant help to feel tho that, some of them, could have a nice unique reward for instance, completing all jumping puzzles rewards you an unique mini pet or a non-consumable item that, on a long cool down, transforms you into something nice like an wolf keep in mind this is just an example.
I miss being rewarded with something other than green/blue gear (jp chests) or nice looking gear from dungeons , which are fine but a little more diversity wouldn’t hurt.
Con: I’m aware that giving unique rewards for specific achievements could make some players feel forced to do that kind of content even tho they don’t particularly like it. This is a big con but this kind of “issue” already happens with, for instance, dungeon gear, if you like it you have to run a few runs until you acquire everything you want.
Pro: Further encourages players to explore game content, gives a sense of rewarding for accomplished feats.
(edited by danikaix.4670)
I love the bell choir mini game, yesterday some guy beside me was playing Morrowind from elder scrolls (Skyrim/Morrowind), it was really cool i would love to have this mini game for good with a less Wintersday theme as the op suggested.
Personal opinions and experience aside, the op does have a point
The snow ball mayhem achievements do not encourage team play unlike most of the game tasks, achievements and dynamic events.
Keep in mind that feedback is something important, there is no such thing as a perfect game but it is possible to keep improving and learning from your own mistakes so you can provide a better event next time.
Hey guys this question might sound a little silly, is Tixx’s Infinirarium, The Grove an one day event?
I’m confused about it because Tixx will visit every major town from 15th to 20th december, so does it mean once he moves to the next place the previous dungeon/instance will be unavailible?
