Capping ruins give participation?

in WvW

I have been seeing players standing around Bauer’s Estate for the past few days, capping ruins and wait for it to become neutral and then capping it again. I decide to test out once for my daily monument by capping it at +0 reward point and it actually shoots up to +25 for me.

New way to farm reward track without getting involved in actual WvW content.

What do you mean by not enough people? Isn’t there Iron Triangle and RKO and Chronic Insanity and Thousand Lake Alliance(?) thingy? As far as I recall most of them has left to deso just to get easy zerg there

What happend to SFR?

Also in SFR they are frequently outnumbered, even on their own borderland! Plus the newest addition with the auto-upgrade-to-fortified-cause-no-one-caps-it-back-at-night features makes it even harder to cap back, provided that it’s already hard to get a full group to roam to begin with.

And because of that no one would totally bandwagon to desolation or something as such!

I could be mean and tell BB to “adept to your current situation and stop kittening crying over it” and to “depend more on the skills and not on the population” stuffs but no, I’m not going to say those here since I’ve been on a full server crisis before that, and I can somewhat relate to that.

All I can say is to try to endure for a few matches more, though I’m not entirely sure about the exact way on how population works. It might be available eventually but until then just try not to be too upset over it, and of course those who stayed through the “full server situation” deserves a load of cookie too!

Talking of freaking people out: I often make temporary characters, and because I know I’ll be deleting them soon I like to have fun with their names and appearances rather than spend ages making something lore appropriate.

One re-occurring one is Mr Pinkay, the charr Mesmer (see pic below).

One day I was playing Mr Pinkay in the Plains of Ashford when someone I’m pretty sure must have been new ran up (starter gear, starter dyes, no guild, no title). As often happens when playing a Mesmer one of my skills created a clone, and the new guy kept running between me and the clone, presumably wondering what the hell was going on. Then the fight ended and the clone disappeared in a cloud of pink butterflies, as they do.

The new guy literally backed away, said “wtf?” turned and ran.

(I did try to whisper him to explain, but he didn’t reply. I think two huge pink charr, one of whom turns into butterflies and disappears may have been a bit too much.)

Is that you, brother?

Deso and FSP teamed up against SFR. Usually both Deso and FSP attacking at the same time without hurting each other obviously.

Thanks for the advices, never expect this kind of a question to get such good answers. I managed to tag along with a small group of people just now, managed to complete almost all of the Blue Borderline map completed. Also it’s an advantage to wander around at night, noticed that there are lesser zergs at that period of time too.

P.S. that map is very useful, thanks :)

… … except for WvW maps. What’s your way for getting your map mastery in the EU WvW maps? Because I’m left with most of the POI from the opposing team and it’s literally a battlefield here. I only want to get 100% for my map, totally no rage over WvW stuffs intended for this post.

P.S It’s Seafarer’s Rest vs Kodash, after all.

The world selection thingy that you see when you started out is only applicable towards World vs World maps, you may only need to consider that part deeply if you are planning on raiding and stuffs with your guild members in the same WvW map… otherwise for anything else the Megaserver system will comes in. You will be in a map with players from all over the world (WvW server) now so you can always play with everyone else!

Now get back to work, and do it double-time!

I’ve always thought that the current game uses megaserver system, which means all the world are merged together into one when you explore around the map casually. Those that you picked at first only applies to World versus World maps, but otherwise you can always get to play with others on dungeons and stuffs I suppose.

You still can join guilds with Nury I think, it will not hurt that much as long as that guild isn’t too involved with WvW activities. No one can help for the time zone sadly :P

p.s I have very less friends

If there were no Charr there will probably be people trying to dress up in Charr clothing…

And we got ourselves a CHARR-latan!!!

What’s going to be good if we didn’t get to experience perspective from a race that hunts you down in the previous game anyway?

Charr is probably the main purpose for most players to be here… like human again?!?! I’m better off playing some (insert preferred gane name here) instead cause it would get really typical, right?

The map completion features and the rest are mainly account bound, so if one of your character managed to unlock it, the rest will get to enjoy that benefit too even if they are just level 2.

Best to seek Astral Projection’s advice and toggle everything up on your map, in case you are really missing something.

How would an Ash Legion Ranger work?

in Charr

Posted by: dgzsl.3568

dgzsl.3568

I would figure that they are more likely to be able to hide well as compared to the others. Like what they always say, Ash is all about the art of stealth, so the better they are the more sneaking they are able to do. So when you mentioned about the greatsword the only thing that comes to mind was “Oh you see me? I’m going to hit you with this sword to knock you out then” (bonk) It would be interesting if they have greatsword for their last resort, just to make sure no one can tell tales of your embarrassment in case you get exposed. Oh the Charr-esteem.

Also, nice Glint Mask you have there! Thought I’m seeing Glint for a moment!

I’m somewhat a newcomer myself too, so I might be able to answer for your question here but yes, if that’s your first character in history then it might take a while before it gets unlocked. You will only get 1 feature unlocked each time when you level so you have to see which level actually gives you that.

But if you create another character after you have an existing one with level 80, everything will still remain available even if they haven’t reached that level yet. That’s probably for the case of your friend if he’s a slightly long time player by now.

I have not tried experiencing with Reeva yet, but anyone who can fill this in with anything Reeva would be great!

I would say that Dinky has a different approach of thinking that makes him funny in a way, like how he would mentioned stuffs about turtles and turrets, Inquests and their quill handling issues, and also the mysterious no-dinky code which wasn’t the thing he was thinking sadly. Hardly anyone can ever understand Dinky logic as far as I know.

As for Maverick, he seems more like a hero-to-be kind to me, those that dreams to be the main protagonist like those found on video games… well-known and respected.

P.S. If you like something funny for your personal story, try to negotiate with the scrappers when you have reached level 20… you will not regret anything for doing that ;)

I choose Dinky for my Enginner, just because Enginners are mainly ranged attacks, make a perfect balance for ranged and meelee attack for me. He’s also good since he’s a… … guardian I guess :P

Also you will be recruting Luccia since you are going for an Iron. Not exactly a Spoiler but this part is out of your original question.

Question about equipment at middle lvls

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: dgzsl.3568

dgzsl.3568

If you are new I would recommend sticking to mainly equip from drops. You will also get better equips as reward when you level up, so that was one problem down. But you might want to start investing on them for wardrobe appearances only when you reached level 80, probably that’s the main reason for why it cost so much in the first place!

In short, yes for earning gold and karma, yes for level 80 character earlier so that you can get rare level 80 equips instead of lower level ones, and leave your looks aside for the time being… we all probably have this experiences too when we just started ourselves.

Aaaaw, such a lovely story!

But where did the fierce charrrr go??

Fur makes the manliness out of the Charr, other races have no fur and are less fierce than the Charr, risen Charrs have dropped all their fur which makes them ended up saying stuffs that hardly make any sense to any being.

That story was made up on the spot just to let the visual story mood continues, any inaccurate indication of said personality was unintentional as a result… disclaimer here if the fur logic up there isn’t working :)

Can a Charr wield Ebonhawke weapons

in Charr

dgzsl.3568

The Charr are pragmatists above all. If a human-made rifle turns out to be more effective, more reliable or even more aesthetically pleasing than other options, the Charr would not let pride stop them from using it on the battlefield.

But before that they are going to need some good excuses to cover up their own pride. Claim to be using those to see how bad human technology can be, and then secretly cherish that baby like a treasure when no one’s looking.

Excuse my post for that word illegal up there, have been reading up Ascalon history for too long recently and exaggerated things a little too much as a result :(

No need for that.

I self-groom.

It just seemed like you have just taken the entire spotlight for yourself and your miniature Tybalt isn’t quite happy inside.

The hair was the best part for my opinion (laugh)

Tybalt’s not too happy about the tail.

Kids love him/her, though. Here’s a shot of Tybalt trick or treating the little children of Lion’s Arch whilst I threaten to stab them if they don’t give me my cut of the candy play a jaunty tune on my harp.

Poor Tybalt must be thinking that everyone like his tail so much that he gets all the good stuffs each time, unknowingly that there’s some edgey business going on behind f they don’t give out those candy corns.

In general, get Miniature Tybalt, go trick or treating with blade pointing at them behind, and finally profit. That’s the Charr way of Halloween can’t blame it on us

You guys might have probably know by the title itself, Mad King Thorn has just made a joke about charr with dandruff everywhere!

I know it’s supposed to be a joke and should be taken lightly (in fact, this is probably my top favourites after hearing it for the first time) But what secrets do you guys have for all those silky smooth dandruff-free furs? Get one of those things called “Shampoo de Kyrta” that was selling out fast in Divinity’s Reach? Or I should probably soak myself in a small lake in Maguuma Jungle with herb bath? I have been thinking about this thing every night ever since, wondering if everyone will flee right after shuddering off conditions during boss battles… or the Labyrinthine Horror might find dandruffs to be the real horror instead. (laughs)
