With the same reasoning, i can go afk in the field and come back 10 minute later and see a dead zerg at my feet?

Seriously though, stealth and evasion are the two core mechanics of thief gameplay so of course they are going to have access to it. Please leave your QQ elsewhere. This can go for pretty much everyone else that complain about thieves.

You do realize I play a thief almost exclusively in wvw right? I spend most of my time roaming solo looking for solo roaming and dual roaming builds and kill them.

Yesterday I solo’d a necro/engi team, thief/engineer team, thief,ele,necro team, thief/necro team

and myself with a same thief build friend killed a team comprised of an engi/necro/ranger/warrior/ele and an upscale thief (which doesn’t count).

Edit “I did lose a fight to two shatter mesmers and a stun warrior”. That was definately a bad fight to get into.

What other profession has the capability to do such a thing? None.

I love to win, but going back to the character comment that one thief player made…. I am all for fair play, so compare me to someone like himself and others who want free wins. The lack of character is most assured not my problem.

Reveal should be changed to 6 seconds.

I play a thief main. Have since launch. But for about a 5 month period I played necro. I 1vX’d with my necro just as effectively as my thief. I have warrior and guardian friends who can 1vX, and a ranger guildy who can 1vX. Thief isn’t the only class that can.
Revealed at 6 seconds is ridiculous. I’m sorry if you have troubles with stealth thieves, or dislike the stealth mechanic, but it isn’t as OP as you seem to think, and if you were at all decent with stealth, you would know this. Any good player can counter a thief. Doesn’t matter on the class. You seem to think that our main source of Condi clear, our only real defensive aspect other than high evades, and our primary class utility is broken because it makes us invisible. I garuntee is we were visible but invincible instead of regen in health, people like you would not irrationally complain so much.

Any profession played by a player that understands the strengths and weaknesses of their class vs. the others they are about to fight can win 1v2s.

This QQing about thieves is mostly a ltp issue.

Not at all, spoken like a true Thief.

It takes lil to no skill to play a Thief profession well in WvW, even at a loss to a skilled player results in not a kill but an escape. A player that understands the strength and weakness of other professions playing a Thief is gg op.

This is nothing new though Rogue, Thief, blade, Stalker pick and choose any mmo w/an open world pvp environment and you will always see these kind of players play these kind of classes.

Except…I main a warrior…
And have no problem playing against them as I understand my weaknesses and strengths vs them. Beating them IS a ltp issue. And yea, you won’t always get a kill due to their mobility as they escape, but so what.

As to the prospect of buying guilds… that always leads to a negative perception of the server buying the guilds, which in the future leads to less guilds wanting to be associated with that server.

Getting the Most rewards Season 2

Before I talk about my home server, let me make it clear that the intent of this thread is to figure out what would be a good option for me to earn the 500 reward points at the end of the season.
Please do not derail this thread as I am sure that will lead it to be closed.

So currently I am in Blackgate and we started really strong, I was hoping we would get 1st place this season and I could acquire both Mistforged weapon and the new minipet.

But this week we faced JQ and TC who are very organized and stronger than I had imagined, with the way the scoring is done, here is what the score will look like end of the week:

Server—-Score after 3rd Wk
BG———- 11
JQ———-11 or 9
TC———-11 or 9
SoS———11
DB———-7
Mag——-5

So basically Id like to stay in Gold league and get max points.
BG was looking strong but now JQ or TC will tie it up and considering the way things are going I expect BG to come 2nd and possibly 3rd.
Unfortunately it seems like most people I talk to, seem to not want to allow BG to win season 2 since they won the first one already.
Would you recommend that I move to JQ or TC?
How about SoS?

Does anyone else like me care to get the max 500 points?

Stay in BG. They will be fine. Certain WVW guilds got a bunch of humble pie this week, but they are still a strong server.

I like how the major argument against different maps is “one Bl will inevitably have an unfair advantage somehow”…because, you know, tactics play such a huge part in WvW when most match-ups are coverage and/or Blob Vs Blob.

There is tons of strategy and tactics in wvw. blob and coverage all you want if you aren’t playing the supply game.

I just want the matchups and final rankings to be fair to all servers involved. Any one server should not be punished in final rankings because they were up against tougher competition for most of the season.

Wait…are you complaining that since because you are in T1 and are going to finish 4th this season, that’s not fair because you had to fight JQ and BG while SOS got to mainly fight T2 servers?

Here’s a suggestion. Win. Beat BG and JQ and stop QQing.

To avoid ‘Stacking’ Servers as was done in seasons 1 and 2, I’d suggest lowering the Server Cap. As it stands, There are obvious differences in coverage from tier to tier. To fight this problem and to allow rebalancing of the servers, I would suggest lowering the number people allowed to be on all servers (which wont hurt the PVE Crowd with the implementation of the MEGA-Server system). This would, in turn, eliminate the strategy of stacking servers for tournaments as well as rebalance the other tiers and allowing for a more competitive tournament/WvW experience.

ANET can still implement transfer sales to lower tier NA/EU Servers prior to season 3 which will clean the Full Servers out.

Any other Ideas to help fight the “Stacking Strategy” would help as I think we are all tired of fighting against stacked servers as well as fighting in one with its enormous que times.

Sigh…coverage doesn’t come from server population. It comes from having people spread out a different time zones. If you had a full server and they all lived in the US, you’d have huge coverage gaps.

I’m on a T1 server and we already have issues with queue times in wvw and overflows in pve. No thanks.

This is a horrible idea. The t1 servers have high queue times. If you change anything, keep the cap the same but make the maps far larger.

The issue I have with the leagues, is that a server that can’t compete with TC is going to place above them in the standings due to a bad scoring system. gg ANet

This from the server that took 3rd by being carried by another server?

I think the blood price of every other week with BG and TC makes it work out as even Stevens.

The true highway robbery is that TC is going to take 4th behind SoS and JQ; two servers that they could beat every encounter.

I don’t see TC finishing 4th…

The League structure is definitely a problem, it’s pretty obvious who is going to win really, not the better players but the ones with 24hour coverage. Appears as if the devs don’t really care about it, they have often said WvWvW is not supposed to be fair and I guess when your whole server zerg = 20-30 players to cover all maps and your opponents can field 60+ zergs per map, then yes I guess their stated intent of it not being fair holds true…and yes this is happening to us this week. The server got hit by the lower/free tier transfers and what was a stable tier 2 environment is now completely skewed. Wonder what will happen to these lower tier servers once the league is over though…

It’s not all about coverage. In a certain match this week “up there”, all three servers were full at reset and yet within 2-3 hours one server was behind by 1k+.

What WvW should change:

  • Honestly I think the WvW should be rewarded according to the time that the strengths or spots are maintained and not every time you take, it’s like going in circles all the time .. really stupid, it has nothing of pvp.

Clearly you understand WvW better than does ANet. It should be patently obvious that if you create a competition based around your team holding objectives to win … and then you offer better individual rewards for a totally different behavior (i.e., flipping objectives back and forth) … that you are going to undermine your own game. How ANet cannot grasp that, especially in the face of a classic prior example in the form of the Conquest 3-faction PvP mode in Rift, is totally beyond my comprehension.

Definitely. It needs to be scored like COD’s Domination and BF’s Conquest. You gain points for how long you hold the objective.

No it doesn’t. You can get the pieces needed for that in less than 5 minutes. There are tons of champs and it’s not hard to get what’s needed. People just want to kitten just to kitten.

Plus, anyone can join a party to run the funhouse with someone who’s done it. Funhouse takes less than 10 minutes.

When I first played the game(Beta Weekend Events) I feel that the world map was so big that the events had to be spread thin. Its just painful see the amount of effort the devs put on making hundreds of events and huge maps go to waste. Now they just rely on the Living World concept to keep the game alive since nobody does events anymore.

A lot of that is their own fault. They keep making things that require extremely rare drops. Drops which come from certain types of mobs. So of course no one wants to do the other events. One example is to look at Straights of Devastation. How many of those WPs will be forever contested?

Jade Quarry, Tarnished Coast and Blackgate are the best PVE servers. They are also the most populated servers which isn’t a coincidence.

I think Infusions & Agony especially should just be taken back out of the game…

yup AR just makes jade maw annoying. At higher levels most agony attacks would most likely kill you if you get hit before the agony starts ticking

I disagree. I think Agony is an awesome game mechanic (except the way Maw uses it) and should be used by bosses outside of Fractals as well. World bosses should use agony and AR should be available outside of FOTM.

Longer paths giving more gold is the best improvement to this day,along with the new champion drops.People skipped those paths because there was no incentive to do them,they just gave the same stuff and the easiest stuff did.Now players will feel extra rewarded for giving more effort

I think this change was shortsighted. All you have done is make people just wait to go to Jormag and do other world bosses while a few get the event to the end and get the same reward as those who did the entire event. How is this far?

What you should have done is either reward people for doing the entire event from crystals to end or pause other world events when Jormag spawns. This isn’t fair to those who do the entire event.

*Note: Sent while I’m waiting on the SB to spawn and then go to Jormag at the 15 min mark.

The easy way to fix this would have been to still have the effigies but make it 10-20 and have them guarded by a champion or even vet from the ceremony story. That would have made it seem like you were actually doing something.

The vets/champions were put in place to help prevent the ceremony and continue the story from the instance.
