Win = 0 PIP [Merged]

I encountered this bug today, too. I won my third ranked game of the day, I did not receive any points, but did receive other rewards (3rd ranked daily achievement, reward track, 30 silver). The game does not show up in the ingame game history or the API.
The game started today at about 19:00 server time (EU, elona) and ended at 19:11, so about 30 minutes ago from this post. I also submitted a bug report via the ingame form.

I was playing with a friend through the story, but when we arrived at "Sign Cutting"- I found the first trail, clicked it and continued. Sadly he was not able to continue. "Follow Rox’s trail" is marked as completed. There is no marker on the map whatsoever.
Reloging, changing the story, reloging, again did nothing. neither when it occurred 2 days ago, nor today.

and continuum sounds great if you’re having trouble with jumping puzzle use it, jump, fail, use it again and you’re back where you started

The changes sound amazing for wvw and pvp, but with the lack of phantasms, on x/shield setup, which are a major part of mesmer’s pve damage, I wonder if the wells and shield skills pack enough punch to compensate. Otherwise I dont see myself running Shield outside pvp or wvw.

But… But… Wouldnt you go back to before the jump, even if you succeeded?

When you use Continuum Split, you’ll sacrifice all your illusions and will split yourself off from the normal flow of time, based on the number of illusions you shattered. When this duration is over, or when the mesmer activates the follow-up skill Continuum Shift, they’ll revert back to the location where the skill was first activated.

Awesome!
But what happens to portal?
Am I allowed to open 2 portal entrences? Do effects vanish after the setback? Will I only get 3s of Portal/TW/ Massinvis?
This might be extremly powerfull or confusing, depending on how it’ll be.

For me a “whitescreen” with an error popup. (same as the screenshot above). And the game client is restarting after clicking ok.
More detailed:

1. Loading screen for Legacy of the Foefire, IP: 206.127.159.139
2. MapLoadCompletition and ModelLoadCompletition stay at 0%
3. After exactly 30 seconds whitescreen with error: 5:11:3:159:101
4. Game restarting.

After this, upon login (after selecting a character), one of two things happened:
Instant Error: 19:9:19:1718:101, with whitescreen, “ok”, restarting
Or
entering HotM, nothing unusual, queue pop window, and again starting above at 1.

And some additional info: The loading screen is (for me) exactly 30s, and 0% Map- and 0% ModelLoadCompletition upon getting the error.

Just having an extra line providing us the ability to input a custom amount of gems or gold? (see attachments)

We would still have the QoL of just pressing 1 button to buy bulk amounts and an improvement over the old system (which was convoluted, as I had to input gold to see its conversion to gem, then if that wasn’t the amount I was shooting for I had to tweak my numbers)

It’s your new nice UI, nothing “confusing” and another feature for veterans ( choosing amount of gems to buy)? And everyone will be happy.

I finally fixed the problem with the missing items, recipes, events from the previous reset we had about a month ago. I was hoping they would get re-discovered, but as people noticed this wasn’t happening in a timely fashion. It wasn’t a trivial thing to re-seed this, but it is done now. Let me know if you are still noticing anything missing. Thank you.

Some items seem to be missing. For example “Hero’s Dagger”(64288), seems to be missing while “Hero’s Axe”(64287) is there.
But “Mists Stone”(67007) and “Resonating Chaos Orb”(66983) seem to be missing, too.
Additionaly “Master’s Salvage Kit”(23043) is nowhere to be found.
Did I miss something, has nobody “discovered” these items or is there some kind of error for getting the IDs (via wiki)?

Yes.
Staff clones deal at least the same damage (not halved by standing still) and PU will be nerfed to reduce survivability.
It might be a bit strong, but can be toned down by changing cooldown/attack speed of clones if needed.

If this is reading GW2s memory it is, based on the user agreement, not allowed. If they would introduce a new API allowing this, we would surely be informed of it. (And there is no update on this, see sticky post API Documentation )
There seem to be some applications that do something similar, and even more. But it’s not allowed to use them (EU/ NA), since they “read areas of computer memory or storage devices related to the Game”.

tl;dr: NO, there is no currently existing, allowed in EU/NA, application that does this.
PS: No idea about china, but guessing it’s similar.

But what if I like my energy/ strength sigils with every stat (wvw)?
Should I buy 10 of them for the stats I might use?
Changing it to “unlocking Sigils” per legendary could be a whole lot of work. UI/ translation/ storing EVERY sigil in a single Weapon? I guess thats not easy and would need a new/ different way to store weapon information.
Completely unlocking sigils ( like traits per char? ) might ruin the ( sigil related ) economy, at least I have bought 3-4 force/ strength/ energy/ bloodlust/ …. Sigils, not just 1. And I might even buy more in the future.
Maybe there is a better way ( less effort/ more gain).

For example: Reusable Sigils.

What do you think of “Reusable Sigil”s?
Once you slot something else, you get the sigil back. You can reuse it as often as you like on every character you have ( given he can use the sigil ).
This could be an QoL buff for everyone, not just legendary owners. The reusable sigil could be terribly expensive, just like all the other nice things from the gemstore, like infinite gathering tools. This would not change how most play/ buy, but give those who own too much gold another QoL change.

For 800 Gems you can now buy the Sigil enhancer.
Ever wanted to reuse Sigils? Tired of slotting the 10th force Sigil into your 10th 2h slaying Weapon? This is the solution! Use this on a Sigil ( or weapon with a Sigil ) to get 1 Reusable Sigil!

It could also be a recipe for the mystic forge, using skillpoints, the sigil, wine and whatever (vision crystals?). This would limit the amount of reusable sigils you could have, be cheaper for cheap sigils, boost selling of Sigils, give an ( expensive ) solution to unsalvageable WvWvW/ Karma Weapons and draw some money from the rich.

New Mystic Forge Recipe: Combine 10 Sigils, 1 Eldrich Scroll, 20 Elonian Wine and 1 Vision Crystal to 1 (Accountbound?) Reusable Sigil.

Lastly there could be a recipe for crafting professions, this might not include all sigils, but could be controlled by recipe distribution ( 100WvW badges, 10g, 200.000 karma and your firstborn per recipe).

Other ( possibly negative ) effects reusable sigils might have:
People complaining about its cost. They just have 1 FIRSTborn.
Fewer exotic/ asc. weapons bought/ crafted.
Probably short-term higher sigils selling prices, but on the long run a bit [] cheaper ( or even still higher ).
Like everything else in the gemstore: Gold to Gems exchange rate. Fewer gems for your “hard-earned gold”.
About 50% less upgrade extractor buyings, going from 2 a month to 1… ( I’d really like to meet you, strange buyer )

PS: currently mobile, ignore any formatting/ autocorrect errors….
PPS: Nice “kitten” filter replacing “bit [nothing] cheaper”.

The latest Black Lion consumable Upgrade Extractor being a very useful consumable,especially when one goes for a change of build,is currently less worth for the money at a cost of 270 Gems.Not even a single upgrade(Sigils and Runes) is worth of being extracted at such a cost.The current exchange rate for 270 Gems is around 18g-20g,while the most expensive rune costs about 10g-12g and sigil ,10g.
The upgrade extractor is clearly not worth for a single use , but if it is given a charge of 6 uses makes the purchase and use of the item justifiable. Even a raise of the cost to 500gems will be reasonable with multiple use charge while maintaining the item account bound.I think such a change will increase sales of the item too.

Maybe we’ll see some of these become needed in fractals, maybe some new “upgradeable-stats-infusions” will come.

I wasnt really looking for a perplexity debate, that debate already happened and the devs said theyre looking to change it. I was looking for “how” and “when” can the community expect these improvements.

About “how”, mind to re-read my post?
“When”, there was no date mentioned, and it’s currently not gambreaking(imho). Either they will come up with something creative, in the next days, and we’ll see it in Dec. If there will be no change til feb, I wouldn’d expect a change, unless interrupts would be changed.

Srsly? Perma 25 confu stack what hits for 7k+ on every action and you say it isnt problem? I am sure you forgot take your pills today because there isnt any other explanation how you can write something so absurd.

IMHO the problem is not the rune. Since a long time people complained about confusion, and it was reduced in PvP/ WvWvW. They continue to complain now.
You can not demand skill > everyting else, when everything, that requires skill is nerfed, and there is no need to learn how to counter confusion.
I was never hit by confusion for more than 2k (without beeing zerged, and either way dead). With avg 20k, it’s not worse than bleeding/ torment.
If somebody manages it to get somehow 25 stacks of confusion up, with a decent duration (I can but you’d have to help me), he’d deserve that kill. If you however take 25 sacks of confusion, it’s most likely your fault, for spaming abilities, which has to be punnished.
This rune is only annoying in 1v1 (or general smallscale WvW), and stun-lock & 100blades warriors are by far more, than confusion.
tl;dr: Don’t nerf the rune. Get a decent 1v1 build. Look at your conditions and think.

PS: They might reduce the duration or add an internal CD (1s or sth) but this wouldn’t change much.

You’re not the first to notice this. His attack behaves like a projectile, the circles only indicate where it will end. Just do what Milennin suggested. It’s not a bug, it’s working as intended.

My guild just tried to finish the bounty hunt (tier 1). We searched the targets and could not attack one but the other.
I’m sure we had every guild-permission (even the guild-leader could not do anything).
After we noticed this bug, we went to kill the other one, everyone could start the fight and received a reward after killing him. But we still weren’t able to attack the first one.

Chef is the crafting profession I enjoyed the most. It’s not put these 2 parts and an inscription together and get a weapon/armor. It’s fun, even at 400 to figure out new recipes. If you don’t like it, buy the stuff and make your way to 400 (to get the title or the gift you seem to desire).
About the drop rate, I explored the world, and I bought nothing of the TP for cooking. It’s just fine if you want to have fun, it’s an nice addition. But if you need it for something and just want to hurry, it might be hard, indeed.

I’ll go first

  1. 5, not ready to be played yet.
  2. 8, nice idea, but still needs some work.
  3. Yes. When it was first announced i was amazed, right now it’s not this way. “Endless and scaling” well up to a (low) limit.
  4. Yes. I’s is easier to help guildmates/ friends to get up (a chest for every level, for skipping odds) and I receive an additional reward (karma).
  5. No. They should have said: “We’re sorry, FotM was not ready to be released. we’ll keep the maw as it was, but you can access only to (including) level 50 now”. So you could play it without agony-resistance but it would take skill (or rezz orbs), maybe make the agony dodgeable?
  6. Yes. I would definitely like more, and a way to choose, until all are equal in time/ reward
  7. No. Currently I’m just helping guildmates to reach 10/20, and hoping for change.
  8. No. To farm/ grind a month per character is plain boring.
  9. No. There was no reason to increase the stats beyond exotic.
  10. Yes. It is something different, that just increases your loot, not your chance to win a fight.
  11. Yes. I would really like to see some new stats.
  12. I would really like an official response or someone from ANet to care about our opinion and answer (maybe not this, but at least) some questions about FotM

ArenaNet recently changed fractals and ascended gear and since I have not seen any gathered feedback about it, I would like to ask you to participate here.
It seems that some liked the recent changes, some not. Some would have never visited the fractals, some would not even think of completing the monthly without ascended amulets.
But there was nothing representing.
I created an online survey, you can easily answer. Post your opinion here, if you want to discuss or keep this up, so more might answer.

If you want to do everything solo, why do you play an MMORPG?
Play a single-player game if you want to, don’t try to ruin the fun for everyone else.

They did something. The karma sink, Orrian Jewelry Box, you have a chance to get lodestones.
Not enough to forge your legendary, but enough to reduce the TP-price for charged lodestones from 4g** to 3g15s. It’s something, they might continue to add new ways to get the lodestones you need.

Since I’m not perfect, just human and I might have missed a post/tread/tweet/whatever that might has answered one of my questions, please post a link.
First, when the Fractals of the Mist where introduced, i was amazed,. The idea about a scaling dungeon, that gets tougher and tougher, is great.
But since the last patch, we have to grind for infusions, there is no other way (without this). Why?

Something in general about the ascendant equipment. That agony and infusions are a way to scale the first difficulties and make it easier for many, is a solution. But: Why has ascendant equipment higher stats than exotic?. Just add a “infused” to an exotic item, and everything is fine (guess like some said it was in Guild Wars (1) ). You promised, even before pre-selling the game, that there will be no grind, that always your skill decides how good and strong you are. And not how much time you spend, grinding for the best equipment. Doing Fractals of the Mist again and again seems (to me) to be grinding.

Are there people testing your patches? Especially the last one 28.01.13. If only one party would have encountered the Ice-Elemental (Dredge fractal) they would have noticed: Instant agony? Something must be wrong… If not every other MMO i know (admit i have not played that many) had a test-server where somebody, either employed or just playing the game, could search for bugs, without affecting anyone who just wants to play a good game. Is there a test-server? And why not?

And last but not least: When the Fractals of the Mist were introduced there was no (real) cap. Some made it to 80, and asked if that is an intended cap. This was about a month ago, no answer. They made it this far, by using their brain and the game mechanics, 99% ress, ress orb, Rangers SaR, there were various ways. Is proceeding to higher level fractals an exploit/bug or is it intended to be able to find a way?

Feel free to add more questions, I’m sure they won’t get answered either.

Maw just kills you without AR-gear, thats what the new patch brought and many are complaining about.
The problem might be to find someone like you, Patrikan. There are only few who did it up to 80 in time. And i guess ANet will soon keep patching it. FotM was never finished, no cap at launch, and terrible cap right now. Maybe they’ll figure out something like agony when entering FotM to force you to grind for gear…

My guildmates just wanted to try it, 4x 0 AR ( and me 25 AR), they all did it up to Lv 8/9, so they knew the basics (pre-patch). We tried it for about 1 hour to kill the Ice Elemental. This is just ridiculous.
You have to start with something to get your rings/ back and infusions (if you don’t want to farm Laurels…). The lowest is 10. Some got ONLY hit by agony and couldn’t heal enough to stay alive.
It should be fun, to be able to learn, how to survive, its just plain stupid, to KILL everyone at the beginning. It might be not unavoidable, but everyone has to be perfect reacting in less than a half second.
Please everyone employed by ANet, if you can prove, that a group of you can kill the Ice elemental on difficulty 10, without AR, I’ll stop complaining about anything.
Just add a 1-5 sec animation, and make it dodgeable, so you can learn how to avoid it.

Maybe next time, before you patch something like this, let your playerbase try it, add a “try new content” or something. I’m sure there are many out there who would love to try it and help you fix it.

And at very least, please please say/ post something, are you looking into this? Do you want everyone to spend 100g/ a month farming for ascended gear?
If thats the case it’s farming, not fun. Being killed (at some point) in FotM is not skill-based-progress.

Missing Patch Notes

I just noticed that ArenaNet is still not telling us all the changes they made, with the patches. I always thought, that patch notes had the purpose to tell everyone what has changed in the game, so we don’t have to figure it out on our own.
I still hope ANet will keep track of what they change and tell us.
Since that was not the case:
What was changed/ fixed, without being listed in the patch notes?

28.01.13:

  • Mesmer’s Trident #1 stacks now bleeding instead of confusion
  • Mesmer’s Trident #4 Illusionary Whaler now inflicts confusion instead of bleeding.

You get the rewards for the lower one your level, or the current difficulty your playing.
Since 34 < 40 you’ll get rewards for lv 34 in 30-38, even if you succeed in lv 40.

So you got a boon every 10 seconds?
Whats wrong?

Traits are disabled during many transformations. (But not any skill based transforms, I believe.)

Is that an intended mechanic?

It seems to be broken on some servers, but there is a workaround:
You have to complete the same pattern, all the time, look them up somewhere, it works.
But still, i’d like to see this fixed, too. It’s not fun to look a solution up somewhere, but to figure it out on your own.

Just as idea. You finish the JP 5 min before the reset (maybe with guild/friends/everyone with the same idea), get the loot, wait 5 min, get it again. Double loot with same effort (and some time waiting).
Since this would be something ANet might have to take care of, they might choose the easier way: do nothing.

PS: the daily works different, since you have to do more, than just open a chest.

On the other hand, some not-combat improvements/ addons would be nice. Since there are just few options to customize things. (E.g. Guild-mate logged in/ a clock with seconds/ something was sold on the TP/ whatever just few players would like to have and would spend their own time to get it).

All rare and exotic dungeon specific runes are account bound.

Are you sure they are? Are only new ones not soul-bound or ALL?
Because I still have a (never used anyhow) Major Rune of the Monk/ Noble, both soul-bound. And I received a new Superior Rune of the Monk (combined 4 major runes in the Mystic Forge), that is soul-bound, too.

Thanks for the headsup on this. I’ll be sure to let our items folks know about the rune being soul bound. That seems odd to me!

More than 3 months have passed since you (might have) told the item folks about this.
Was there a response? Or maybe they have simply forgotten it, or whatever.
It would be nice to get an update, if it is at least on the list of things they want to take a look at, or if it is intended that way and nobody cares that we don’t like it.
