inb4 everyone tells me to “get over it” and to stop being a kitten & people telling me “don’t PvP then.” Can’t wait to hear those.
and don’t forget “get a thicker skin”, “it’s just smack-talk” and “it’s normal on the internet”. Some people are very fierce in defending their “right” to insult others. It is a very bad attitude in a team game imo.
And I agree with everything you said. I have made the same experiences. Nobody ever gets punished for insults or afk-ing.
That map is one of the reasons I haven’t tried the new PvP system yet. Deathmatch is terrible. No tactics, no strategy, just stomping. I really hope they put that game mode away again, it had a good place in custom arenas, it should stay there.
:D
welcome to the internet. if you want to walk away from bullying on the internet you have to walk away from the internet. just bully back. call his/her mother names or something, be creative.
That attitude makes me sick. If you don’t change, then nothing will ever change.
This is supposed to be a team game, yet if someone insults their own team, that is not “dishonorable”, if I leave because I don’t wanna play on a team with people who insult me, then it is and I get punished? I hope they rethink that.
Were you in combat? Because in combat mode there is always a chance for ruined ore, no matter the mining pick, and that’s not a bug.
Actually, for the order of whispers at least, all the undercover agents regognize you and give you insider information. I think that’s really neat. Dunno about vigil and priory, but some npcs say they know you and such…
If you don’t want to play the game, then don’t play the game. Really, exploring the maps is part of that.
I have 10 level 80 characters, and the one I play the least is the one with map completion, because I can’t explore with her anymore.
I would totally love a marriage kinda thing in game! But without all the gameplay advantages, that’s not needed at all. Also not restricted to rl-couples. Just for fun.
The conditions will act as if the necro applied them. However, one dodge from the opponent and either your condis or your brother’s epidemic will not apply. Also it will help nothing if you are in a 2v1 or 2v2, only on big teamfights. Also remember that some classes have aoe condition removal. I think it would be much more useful if the necro just applied his own conditions, at least in PvP, I got next to no experience with WvW.
He got banned in game twice because of acc security or something. Basically he rage quit after that. Wasnt really a loss for the community tbh. At the beginning he was alright but then he went down a path of anti meta propaganda and bashing of other players because of differing opinions.
You mean, he didn’t want to change his builds to your wishes and then you and others told everyone he sucks. Which you appearantly still feel a need to do.
I still use his hybrid build on one of my necros, just with traveler runes instead of divinity runes. It’s still great for almost everything, except if you wanna go dungeon speedfarming. Then again, necros are not great for that anyway…
I dind’t even know she had a disease until I read this. I missed out on the last part of season 1, and they never comunicated it again I guess. I thought she was just injured from her golem being destroyed.
Oh gosh, guys, misandry does not exist. Feminists do not want to cut off your kittenes, trust me. And giving females the same rights and respect as males does not make you any less of a man.
And really, this game challenges nothing about the status-quo of male-domination. You really think someone like “I am naked all the time, drunk, and talk like an 8 year old” Kasmeer is a feminist role model? Or even shows females in a good light? Think again.
I wouldn’t call Charr society a dictatorship. I don’t think any Charr would consider him or herself oppressed by a tyrannical government. Charr society is more like one big army, with one general. The monarchy in Divinity’s Reach is also formed by the ministry, who are always bickering.
And still, normal citizens do not have any influence on political descisions in charr society. In fact, parents have their children taken for military indoctrination at a young age.
What about charr merchants, artisans, workers etc. They all have to follow the orders of the military leader.
And it is exactly the ministry, the part of Kryta’s government not absolutely ruled by the queen, that is shown to be, just like the asura council, inefficient, power hungry, arrogant and petty.
I don’t know if I am right with the Arcane Council actually being republican, I just was given the impression they are somehow elected…
Could you elaborate that a bit? This mostly got to my attention with the whole “world summit” plot. But it is also in the personal story. The Asura council is shown to be ineffective, petty and power hungry, while the (unelected) charr and human leaders are shown to be benevolent and wise.
Staff is terrible for conditions! :o You mention mark of blood for necro and that is also terrible for conditions. I always had more success with conditions on ele with either scepter/dagger or dagger/dagger setups.
Making that suggested change would really be bad for PvP and change a lot more than just QoL.
Now I know this is somewhat political, but I found it a bit odd and frankly alarming how the different racial governments in the latest story part are portrayed.
On the one hand we have the monarchy of Divinity’s Reach, and the military dictatorship of the charr being shown as absolutetly great, happy, and efficient. On the other hand, the republican organized Asura are shown to be petty, corrupt and all in all not being able to properly govern themselves.
In fact, groups like the White Mantle, who wanna abolish the monarchy are probably going to be the villains in the near future. (I know their role in the first game, but without the Mursaat and Khilbron, there isn’t much evil left in them)
Is anyone else bothered by this?
I am getting more and more the impression that the target audience this is written for is somewhere around 14 years old. This entire group of “b-iconics” is just a bunch of oversimplified clichees. We are suposed to take them serious like adults, yet they all act like immature teenagers. Except for Taimi, the wunderkind of Asuras. Smarter than all the grown ups, right?
And our character is their “friend” and appearantly starts to share their mannerism.
Makes my head hurt…
But at least the instances this time (and last time too!) were a lot of fun. Just have to wait through those dialogs and try not to think too much about it.
I’m pretty sure they want some NPCs to just have a unique appearance compared to players.
Besides, it’s really not that exciting of an outift. Looks pretty similar to most of the light armor for humans actually…
You have to remember that some people just randomly dodge around and it is very possible to evade a boon corruption that way. Also the reason necros get focused in teamfights is exactly because they are so strong then. Those fears and conditions can quickly turn a fight around. A power necro can shred weaker classes. That is why positioning is so important. Never stand in the middle of a team fight, always on the edge. Berserker stance you just have to wait out, it’s only 6-8 seconds though.
And I find the wurm to be an excellent escape tool once you get used to it.
More bullying in the dungeon forums. I am going to report this one, in the hope that this is not actually wanted here.
And to the OP, as you can see here, bullying people in dungeons is something that seems to be in style with certain people. And just like bullying in real life, most others stay quiet and just hope they are not the one’s being bullied next. It is a real shame that this is acceptable behavior in our GW2 community now.
Some think they are the kings of the dungeon forums and others rally around them to bully everyone into submission…
Besides, what you don’t realize is that ranged can be more rewarding than melee if the gameplay demands it. It is a pity that appearantly the gameplay in dungeons will never be adjusted again however.
Why such a complicated mess, that needs a PvP/PvE split? The advantage of conditions is that they ignore armor, that’s also why vulnerability shouldn’t work for them. Simplest solution would be to increase enemies armor and decrease enemies health. That’s why conditions work better in PvP.
Then there’s still the problem of weakness, poison and chill not having all effects on monsters that they have on other players, but that’s not about damage.
Life Blast is the 1200 range power weapon… :o Meh, greatswords are overused in this game imo.
That’s only working if you go into a fight with full Life Force, which you rarely do in PvP.
There already is a deathmatch mode in custom arenas, isn’t there?
I find this whole topic bullock when you have a dodge button. I have a 100% zerker, so nothing but the default armor/health and I rarely die because I have a dodge button. Practice using it, stay mobile and equip mobility enhancing skills.
That’s nice, but I was more talking about the new enemies being unforgiving if you make a mistake. I unfortunately do not have the reflexes of a teenage boy, sorry. Also no reason to be rude.
Thanks for the detailed explanation of the enemies. It helps a bit. I swithced to the “Strenght in Numbers” trait and it seems I survive a lot longer, as do those around me. The biggest problem for me are however not the normal, “white” enemies. Veterans+ are what always kills me. And I still think these do too much damage. It really seems mistakes are not allowed to be made.
Just to clear this up, I am not actually running full berserker gear. I am currently with my Guardian in this new area, using mixed gear/stats, having the signet that makes me take less damage and eating mango pies.
I still find it very unforgiving. It’s not that I die every few minutes, but every mistake takes me almost down, and down state has no meaning because it’s almost impossible to rally. I also see a lot of people dieing out there and if I try to res them, it is certain death for both of us. Speaking of PvP tactics, blinding has barely an effect on these enemies, it is either over before they attack or they have multi-hit attacks. I often try to use my virtue of courage for ressing others, but that blocks only one attack and the protection reduces damage, but that barely matters when enemies hit for a few thousand damage plus conditions.
And going in with my PvP cleric support build would be terrible. Events count participation on how much damage you do to enemies, and I wouldn’t be able to do any.
Besides, no enemy in PvP can do that much damage plus conditons, plus cripple, plus leaps on 2 second cooldowns, plus damageing trails.
I actually think the trails are the worst of them all, because it is entirely possible to dodge INTO a trail or have no room to maneuver in a big battle. Not to mention that we have to protect NPCs/Dolyaks that don’t walk out of the trails at all…
Huh? Isn’t that already in there in the form of the xp-scrolls? You can get to level 20 instantly and skip most of the unlocking if you got a character that’s at least one year old. Finishing the personal story gives another 5 levels (tomes) and a piece of leveling armor.
Why would you think I am not using dodges and defensive skills? What I meant was that these enemies are way to punishing if you make a mistake, no matter your toughness/vitality. Getting caught for 2 seconds in a Trasher’s trail is certain death no matter what, and then you can’t rally because you just die so fast.
Don’t do condition Necromaner without terror and scepter! :o Terror does more damage than burning if you have another condition on the target, and Scepter has poison on auto attack, that’s the best condition of them all!
Indeed, if you removed down-state, all classes would have to get more health/armor to compensate. This is really a problem of people who come into PvP to “gank” people, instead of enjoying the strategies and tactics. BTW, these also count as skill imo. It’s not just all in the execution of burst chains you know.
Necromancer is only bad for dungeon speed runs. Everything else is fine. With that health pool and all the condition damage (power too, cause mobs don’t dodge), most PvE content feels way easier than on other classes to me.
Marjory looked like a total babe this patch.
Cause that’s the most important thing, right?
To me, she looked like she is way younger than I thought she is. She looked like she is barely 17. Well, at least that fits her teenager-like behaviour.
I understand the need to make endgame content harder, but these Mordrem are not fun to fight at all. There is no margin for error at all, massive damage, trails that instantly kill you if you get downed in them, constant poison makes it impossible to heal, torment makes it impossible to run. And to top it all off, everything that’s not a white mob has tons of health.
Harder should mean smarter enemies that use player abilities like a player would, not overpowered monster abilities that one-shot and have no cooldown at all.
Fighting the Mordrem, no matter if open world or in the story instances is no fun for me at all. Even the Risen with their constant poison and one-shot suicide bombers weren’t as frustrating to deal with. And I mean “frustrating”, not difficult.
This seems to still be the general direction of PvE content in general: Make enemies hit harder and have more health, so one missed dodge is certain doom. And as I said, it just makes content more frustrating.
What do you guys think about this?
Living in a world where males decide what to be “feminine” means. And you wonder why we don’t like that…
The world has moved past that decades ago.
You say that, but at the same time exactly what I said is going on right now in this thread.
Please no more reduction of terror damage, it’s the only unique thing necros still have. Also balance shouldn’t just be done for the top 100 players, there’s us normal people too and we are actually the majority.
It’s an excuse to defeminize them. That has been an ongoing theme since they butchered the running animation.
Living in a world where males decide what to be “feminine” means. And you wonder why we don’t like that…
Just give us the male animations for a quick fix. The last remaining idle is my character brushing her hair aside from her face. She is wearing a helmet btw.
metal stockings? why?
Oh yay, more armors that magically transform into dresses that just barely cover up my nipples as soon as a female wears them! All the princesses in the game are sure to be very excited about this!
You should really get unyielding blast in there. With the right positioning the piercing is so powerful! Also, why not well of corruption instead of corrupt boon?
Not to mention I then just flame my team for their disability, but it’s not their fault…
This is one of the reasons SoloQ is so frustrating, people raging and insulting their own team. This is not necessary and totally under your control, so stop it.
If men are displayed as strong, muscular and powerful is that not the same kind of sexualization?
Strong, muscular men are a male power fantasy and not a female sexual fantasy. The problem here is that appearantly female characters are allowed to be anything, IF they are also “beautiful”, “feminine” and “sexy”, while male characters are not expected to be anything like that. They can just be powerful, strong, etc.
Already most of the female armor in the game is vastly dfferent from the same male armor in that it fulfills certain male fantasies, but even if I put on other armor, my characters are still animated to fulfill the forementioned requirement for females.
It’s not that everyone is asexual that’s the issue, the issue is if females can be anything but sexual. We are actual persons and don’t exist to serve male fantasies and needs. And so should my character.
Just because it’s worse in other games doesn’t mean it is alright in this one. And there is no reason at all why player names have to be visible to the opposing team.
In general people get way to worked up if they lose a match, no matter the reasons. I turned chat off for most of the time when I’m in the match already, because it is just very distracting. But that also means I don’t get to read any kind of tactical suggestions people of my Team write, so I’m playing blind basically.
Oh I have a Norn, I just wish we had a choice of animations. Seems the models are rigged to support both types of anims, hmm maybe they should add another category in the wardrobe for that!
ugh, feminine and beautiful? I’m a death dealing machine of destruction and sorrow, I don’t wanna be “beautiful”. I wish I had the Norn animations on my humans tbh.
None! Cause they are both not willing to support the war effort against the Elder Dragons. You know, the really important stuff.
Also I’m not even a citizen of Lion’s Arch. What do I care about their city council?
Chill of Death already does something very similar. Also what is it with the attitude “It would ruin necro in pve, but who cares?” Most people play pve, they all care.
The trait needs to stay as a duration stacking damage condition. And those are Burning, Poison and Fear with Terror. Thats why they made it Burning even if it doesnt fit thematically for necros.
Wow. How about some pants for female light armor for once? I’m so sick of dresses, lingerie and knee-highs. I want normal armor or robes. You know, for going into combat. I’m a powerful mage and want some dignity.
The biggest problem is that this nerf will once again destroy pve. If they could just lower terror damage in pvp i wouldnt care but in pve that pitiful damage will make terror all but useless.
Also terror is one of our signature abilities. Burning is not. I really wish they had never added Dhuumfire. But now that they have i doubt they will remove it again or nerf it just one patch after introduction.
There is a Champion Risen Broodmother right at that spot in the water. You have to kill it for Blubloop to start moving again.
