Windows 10 reboots after changing maps

This bug happened twice already in the past few days. It happens when I switch map. First, black screen and then after a few second PC reboots without warning.

I can play other games just fine, so I’m guessing it’s something related with guild wars 2. My graphic card is Asus R7 360, 14BG of RAM & Phenom II X4 945 processor.

Related issue: when loading maps, desktop will flash for a split second just when you’re about to load map 100%. I think this started happening with Ember bay update.

I encounter this bug at the start of PvP game and it goes away when I use celestial avatar. It’s really annoying because I dont know how much endurance I have.

As of today, I’m stuck on GW2 client with connection error. Anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: after 5-10min of waiting the launcher finally conencted and seems to be working.

The best thing about staff ele is aoe damage, CC and healing. I enjoy playing staff ele for roleplay reasons (mage using daggers seems off to me

When I’m fighting 1v1 on point I can easily kill pretty much any class, I guess it all comes down on your experience with skills and rotations.

Celestial amulet, pirate runes & Bloodlust/strength sigils. Traits are standard – water, earth, arcana, cantrip build. When you stack up your bloodlust in those initial fights you transform into godmode- amazing dps with lots of survivability. The downside is, that smart players will spot your bloodlust and focus on you

Maybe try switching Endure pain/Balanced stance for Throw bolas or Bull’s charge.
That would help you land eviscerate or 100b + you could root some annoying kiters in 1 place.

Here are a few games:

1. Personally I’m waiting for Skyforge open beta, which starts on July 16th. The game looks promising – the ability to switch classes, removed lvling system, the ability to transform into a god! … Everything about it looks cool and I hope it lives up to the hype it created.

2. Next MMO I’ll at least try is Wildstar because of it’s combat system, though I watched some vids and I already hate grinding :p

3. Archeage – Installed it, played for a few hours and uninstall. Your typical korean mmo grind. When I played it low lvl zones were already abandoned, which is sad. Maybe the endgame is good, idk, but I couldn’t force myself to play it.

4. Bought ESO at launch and stopped playing it because it was still in early beta stage imo :p Animations were bad, bugs everywhere, lag, … Started playing it again after they released Tamriel unlimited and I have to say that devs fixed almost everything/added new features players were asking for. The game is much better now and is probably worth the money.
Somehow I still dont like combat though. The combat system is ok, but the characters feel clunky when moving around/fighting, combat doesn’t feel responsive to me and jump/dodge animations just looks ridiculous imo.

5. I was watching vista near a bridge and when I crossed the bridge I died.

8. After I used wp some strange things started to happen.

I coudn’t use elementalist staff skills, my Signet of air passive was turning on and off on buff bar, 2-3 min later while walking near bridge (on land) my staff weapon was replaced with trident (I was holding underwater weapon on land ) with no 1-5 skills available, all I could do was switch atunements. At some point everything slowly went back to normal.

If it helps, a few ppl in map chat said that insta death also happened to them at the same time as my death, and some of them couldn’t interact with vistas.

No clue why everyone runs D/D: it definitely is strong and the fire trait-line fits a bit better on main-Dagger, but IMHO, S/D is way better in teamfights and as a more tanky option.

No clue why everyone runs S/D or D/D. My staff ele can easily kill almost every spec out there

Try staff ele with arcana/earth/water (DS, cantrips) with celestial amulet, privateer runes and bloodlust/battle sigils.
Since new patch everyone is bursting down each other so you’re almost guaranteed to have full 25 stack of bloodlust after a first few initial fights, and that’s when the fun starts.

Plz anet don’t nerf bloodlust, I’m having way too much fun. \o/

Hi,
while I’m in blazeridge steppes Spectral flames are spawning all around me and following wherever I go. I got careless and I got killed by a group of 4 spectral flames, and more keep spawning around.

I didnt notice flames spawning around any other players so it’s strange. Are the flames supposed to be in the game after the LS ended?

I recently decided that I’ll craft exotic celestial armor for my ele, but since I discovered you can basicly craft 1 piece or armor every 5 days i abandoned that idea.

So I decided I’ll craft valykrie armor and guess what: It took me exactly 15 sec to purchase T6 mats/globs and 3-4 minutes to craft complete exotic set. Something about this doesn’t feel ok to me.

I guess I’ll just skip exotic celestial and go straight for the ascended wupwup.

Entire Timerline Falls map had terrible consistent lag yesterday. When I changed map, lag was gone.

EU server, look at my bug report for screenshoot with /ip in chat.

maybe you cancel the skill just before animation finishes?
for example, you use arcing arrow but just before the animations ends you try to dodge and accidently cancel the skill

I noticed weird bug in charr story area where ascalonian ghosts had gotten new name → Ascalonian Fighter (new string)

I know a bit or two about programming and it lead me to believe that anet is separating ascalonian ghosts beetween story instances and general ghosts in open world. The only conclusion I can think of, is that anet will remove or alter all ghosts except ones in personal story instances.

The story I played is called Ghostbore Artillery, part of Iron Legion personal story. -> I choose to create ghostbore turrets from previous mission.

It was a while ago while I played a charr Iron Legion personal story but there were some weird things happening which I didnt notice the last time I played it.

Ascalon ghosts had text (new string) added to their names and I also noticed that you could see red dots representing enemies on map, which I dont recall seeing anywhere else.

Anyone else noticed weird names in story or is this glitch in game since launch?

To be honest guardians doesn’t really need damage buff. Maybe they should get some better spirit weapon AI or better traits to make a few more viable builds.

If your server is even slightly organized, then most of the bigger guilds from your server should know each other and have some sort of internal alliance beetwen them.

Note how there is vines entangling around a vigil/pact outpost in a green, grassy area.

An area like that isn’t that close to drytop at all…

yes, I posted bug report with combat log in it, too bad the log isn’t storring missed attacks. I have a lot of experience playing on skyhammer as a engi, so it was quite surprising to me.
Either the ai is broken, I was a victim of hacker, or I had a really terrible match, where everything which can go wrong actually goes.

As a side note it was interesting to see when I charged into skyhammer and unload all my skills on unavare ranger who was shotting laser all of my attacks missed him, saying it’s Obstructed. I tried shooting him from every possible angle, even using Supply crate on him and nothing….

Let me clarify: we were playing on Skyhammer, I was a rifle bunker engi with rifle & rocket turret + elixir gun. When I went to skyhammer to kill a ranger camping there I found out I can’t hit it no matter what ability I used.

That player was using sword/warhorn and I KNOW you can evade a lot of attacks using that weapons but the fact was that the only way which I was even able to hit him was using jump shot, and I actually managed to hit him only twice or so with jump shot during whole match.

I thought this player skills are OP but what convinced me otherwise was when he switched to Longbow. My attacks still had no effect on him and he was just happily standing on 1 place and slowly bring me down. When I switched to combat log I surprisingly found out that the log is full of data of he attacking me and my hits were very rare, if any at all.

The game kept telling me he is either “out of range” or “Obstructed”. It’s kind of weird to see me used “Overcharged shot” standing right next to him and then the message pops up: “Out of range”.

And yes, I placed both turrets and Suppy crate and none of that hit him either.

Since agony resistance is unlimited, there’ll always be a value for every encounter that fully negates agony damage. If you balance “challenging, high skill demanding” content around it, you get nothing but a gear gating; if you balance around a smaller value, you allow players to bypass the challenge through gear grinding.
I can’t figure what the benefit of using AR is. If gating end-game content behind some kind of grind / time sink si the idea, there are actually much better ways to do it.

Anet incorporated wide variety of obtaining ascended ites which partially negates grind/time sink. Iff you add some sort of instance-based persisting map through LS journal, players could completely avoid AR requirement at a cost of some restrictions to rewards. This system is already in place in Fractals- you dont need AR to play it but the rewards get better if you do higher levels, which require huge grind/time sink.

Balancing challenges would be through small AR requirements. Let’s demonstrate:
Players with 25AR would get 5 ticks of 6% agony damage on a time span of 1 min, which would damage them for 30% HP which can easily be healed up. Players with higher AR would always get 1% AR damage so they would lose 5% HP. It’s good to have higher AR but you cant bypass the challenge through AR, especially if boss has interesting mechanics or if a few agony attacks can bypass AR completely and it’s up to players to dodge them.
You can either dodge or suffer small HP loss. Players with higher AR would still get beaten by other attacks.

The idea of AR areas is to further extend the mechanics of combat in normal pve, just like they did with Toxic Pollen Effect.

new map could require around 25AR which is easily obtained if you do guild missions and make a few fractal runs to obtain ascended rings and buy versatile agony infusions.

I dont see a problem for a new player gaining access to map, if he’s willing to play fractals or craft ascended armour. Even if you dont have AR you could still access map from LS journey system, you just woudnt have a chance of fighting new bosses and some other stuff.

Hey all, I just wanted to share my idea of integrating Agony resistance & damage to new area which would act as a hardcore map for players who actually grind for ascended armour and trinkets.

Possible lore which would allow adding new AR area:

I dont know much about Dessa experiments in the Mist, but she could open a new fractal dungeon for us which would take us to battle Risen in Orr, possibly even see Zhaitan in his last dying moments.

Since the Elder dragons are creatures of magic Zhaitan could just before he died somehow discover that there’s something wrong (Dessa messing up with mist). He could use that window of opportunity to extend his influence inside the mist even after his death (some crazy story how Dessa from future changed Zhaitan death). Zhaitan would still be dead but that would explain how the Risen have not been weakened after all this time + Tequatl is growing even stronger.

With his magic influence he could tear apart Mist (LS season 3?) and create bridges between mist and Tyria on a specific new location – perhaps a new map in Orr (Arah city). This would allow Risen creatures from mist crossing over to Tyria or the existing Risen in the area would became corrupt with Agony, thus having agony attacks.

Map mechanics:

  • When player would enter new area agony attack would start ticking (no AR – instant death and WP outside of map)
  • lvl 80+(80-85) mobs with unblockable agony attacks
  • Introduction of new hardcore boss or more of them, with every one of them using agony attacks and would take a lot of skills to bring them down
  • Players would be able to obtain Fractal relics as a reward and maybe some crazy RNG for new skins
  • adding a merchant inside a map who would exchange relics for Fractal weapons and various other rewards
  • Perhaps parts of the map would require to have more AR than others or create separate areas for specific AR.

Note: The map would be filled with experienced, somehow grindy players and that would allow to create hardcore content and maybe even introduce grinding for precursors (It’s allowed to have dreams )

Benefits from new system:

  • A lot more players would start crafting ascended armour and playing high lvl fractals in order to obtain acces to new map – they would have a incentive to continue playing after they hit lvl 80.
  • All players who crafted ascended armour would be rewarded for doing this
  • This would be Anet way of introducing pve endgame content and creating a bigger and more stable community.

Let me know what you guys think and what would you change/add/remove.

I don’t know what others are saying but so far I had 2 Tequatl hoardes dropped when I buffed my MF to around 250%. I also got 2 other ascended chest at tequatl when I was buffed.

And no, I don’t kill Tequatl every day.

I tried to duplicate this bug but I couldn’t do it, so it’s not really a problem if it happens very rarely.

At least this bug offered me a chance to add this screenshot to my collection of weird/hidden places ingame.

Fire elemental extra boss bugged

I charged up matrix cube key and after we killed fire elemental I used my key and open a passage for steam ogre boss. The thing is, when I jumped into the portal I ended up below thaumanova reactor in a water. When I looked up I was directly below the middle area of reactor.

Since I didnt have matrix cube key for quite some time, I dont know if this was suppost to happen or it’s a bug.
