I think they need to stay account bound.

I’m not a huge fan of having everything purchasable for gold, because of 2 problems:

1. Pay 2 win. There needs to be things that I can’t obtain via gem conversion.

2. The problem that arises when you make every piece of content directly or indirectly reward the same currency/reward (ie, gold) is that people start comparing which one is the most efficient to do. And since its impossible to balance it all you’ll have dead content everywhere.

I know that the market will balance itself out, but that take time, especially given that people have huge stacks of ascended materials stacked up ready to sell at the start. Even after that, you’ll go through periods of high (prices are good, people doing metaevents everywhere), and low (prices are at the bottom, no one does events because there’s not enough people). That’s a very disruptive effect.

I am in favor of giving them a mechant value however, providing that its a sensible value.

1. I wouldn’t call it ‘Pay 2 Win. Ascended gear give you suck a minor stat boost above Exotic that it really doesn’t matter.

2. there are already dead zones everywhere. and when it comes to zones that drop the ascended mats, the people that want the mats will still go there so they don’t have to buy them anyways.
Buying anything is an Option. nobody is making people buy them. you can still go farm it. and for those who don’t want them but still get them as random drops, it would be nice that they could sell them.

the whole reason those items exist is so that there is a small portion of getting ascended that is not circumvented via gold.

when they unbind them, that will no longer be the case, and a great many things will serve little purpose again

having people with banks full of ascended crafting mats they will never use serves very little purpose as well. let them sell those mats so they can make some gold. binding crafting items is just making them worthless to people who don’t craft.

With all the new thing coming in the feature patch, the only thing I Really want to see is the unbinding of crafting materials. Mainly the Ascended mats and blade shards

There are players (like my wife) that don’t craft but have a bank full of ascended mats because they don’t want to throw them away. And then you have players like me who craft a lot and would love to have more.

ANet wants us to ‘play how you want’ but then they bind things so you have to grind content out for mats that you should just be able to by from somebody who likes grinding out mats.

So please ANet, unbind crafting mats so we can play how we want.

if you have friends that play make sure you get on the same server as them before you go and make a bunch of characters!
as for classes; if you like melee go warrior or guardian. a more ranged attack can be ranger, engineer, elementalist, Mesmer. or conditions with necro or thief.
of course any class can be spec’d out to do different things.
as for race; mainly whatever you think looks cool.

all these suggestions can be summed up as “More PERMANENT CONTENT”
I think most players are like myself and tired of doing an event for 2 weeks then It disappears to be replaced with a new 2 week event.. The nightmare tower was a step in the right direction with it being destroyed and then littering the map.
Included in the Permanent Content idea is more customization. most lvl 80s look about the same, same bodyshape and some dungeon armor. more armors and body customizing would go along way in making players feel like their toon is unique.

I like it. Stone Dwarves would be a good way to add Primordus as the next elder dragon to face. They need to look like STONE tho. with like glowing cracks and runes covering them or something. not just short/fat norns
Tengu and Largos are kinda stupid looking. and making armor on them would be a nightmare. o the clipping…

That’s personal opinion. I think the Tengu and Largos look great, as do a LOT of other players. Dwarves look stupid and are possibly the ugliest race to ever grace fantasy…
Regarding armour clipping – not true AT ALL. Tengu use the Charr model and their bodies are thinner, they have nothing protruding from their body other than a tail so armour clipping is likely to be less of an issue than it is with Charr. Largos are humanoid which means fitting armour on them would be relatively easy – Look at the Sylvari, Human and Norn – armour has little clipping on them because they’re relatively similar in shape.

yes this is my opinion. and saying Dwarves look stupid is yours. that’s fine. I would be happy with ANY new race. But I would like Dwarves first. Or they could just add them all together. Now Tengu wouldn’t clip as bad as char since they don’t have horns or tails.. but they have feathers and inverted legs. And Largos are human shaped, but they have giant wings that will clip with any back item/large shoulders/2h weapons.
As for Lore; Dwarves and Tengu have a good background to bring them in. While largos as much. and we musnt forget the Kodan.
Based on a chart ANet showed earlier this year Charr are the least played race. I don’t think Tengu will be much better since they look about the same.

what if my guardian wants the sweet helm that only a warrior can have? that’s not fair! I want the devil horns too!

Its just like cultural gear but instead of by race its by class. It helps people stand out and be individuals. Which is the whole purpose for have such customizable options in the first place. You pretty much see every class of the same armor type wearing the same armors anyways and nobody really stands out except for the dyes that they use.

yes I understand that. and I would love to see more customizable options. im just saying that you will see a lot of complaining with examples like I gave if they do make class specific armor. its like the cultural armor now, there are a lot of posts that want cultural to be open to all races (which I think is a dumb idea).
just more armor options in general would be nice.

Being able to show both weapon sets at the same time. maybe clipping has to be reworked if you have 2 sets of 2-handed or 2 sets of 2 1-handed weapons- For this you could actually implement another feature: deciding where your weapons will be when sheated: 1 handed weapons at your back, both at the same side, or maybe swapped? main-hand on the right and off-hand on the left? There would be many ways.

I like this idea as well.
would def like to put my 1h swords across my back!

Please bring back the Flame kissed light armor skin. It was beautiful. Who cares if it looked like the human cultural armor, it looked nice on all races. Please bring it back.

the problem was the flame light armor was 800 gems or around 40 gold… while buying the human t3 light armor was 119 gold. not fair to all those who spend 119 to then let others get a cooler version for a fraction of the cost.

I would be happy if one of the bi-weekly updates was just redoing the customization.
Character

  • Slider for fat/muscle ratio
  • More hair/facial hair options
  • More faces and face customization tools
  • Scars and tattoo options for all races
  • Voice options- Different voices and personalities(tough, neutral, weak)

Armor

  • Switching armor locations (ex: glove from left had to right hand, etc)
  • Armor viewing by piece (ex: hide one side of the shoulder armor)
  • Use Mystic Forge to upgrade armor skins:
    ex: Bloodstone dust, Mystic Coin, armor piece, and Molten Loadstones to create a fire effect to the armor(or some other combination of items). Loadstones could be switched with other items to give electric, wind, ice, crystal, earth, spirit, undead, etc effects.

as long as we’re making suggestions about how to use “excess” transmutation stones…

how about letting players use a stack (250) of transmutation stones to make a “special transmutation splitter” at the MF which would let a player recover a SAB skin (or other one time award skin) from an already transmuted item?

Yup, you got me, I am completely in favor of some encounters excluding small groups. Sorry if you dislike that. If I concede here, the next thing I will be fighting is the thread in which the OP will be crying fowl over Tequatl, demanding they make it kill able by his personal group. These encounters offer gear that we have limited access to, because they are only found in temples. Thus I feel that the encounter should reflect that in difficulty.

Tequatl is a Dragon. Those battles should require an ARMY to defeat them. But a Temple is just one undead priest and some minions. You are saying that an army is needed to beat the same boss type you find in a 5-man dungeon?

Ascended Account Bound

Ascended are difficult to get for a reason and they should stay bound.
However the crafting components for them should NOT be bound.

All depends if you are talking about Ascended weapons or Ascended trinkets. The trinkets are dependent on Laurels which are time gated AND per account. That is you cannot earn any more Laurels per day whether you have 1 character or 10. Making the trinkets soulbound on use rather then leaving them account bound makes little sense when you consider how they are earned.

I am talking about crafted Ascended items only.
Several guild members have tons of dust/fragments, but don’t craft at all. They would like to sell them, and I would like to buy them!
So the base components can be unbound, but once you combine them with something they become account bound.

Cultural armor is race specific for a reason.

There just should be more variety for all classes and cultural armors should be available for all races. They can be gated by quests or x3 cash requirements and such but really, we all want reuse others cultural armors.

Why is it so bad for you people? You really need to fee that special?
Guess what. Special items are those that aren’t available in game and only those.

They call it “cultural armor” but it should be called ‘Racial Armor" because that’s what it is. Letting a Charr wear t3 Asura armor? no. just no.
The only possible way I can see to let other Races wear each others unique armor is to add some kind of Reputation bar, so when you do quests for other races you gain some kind of prestige with that race, and when you get up to some super high lvl you unlock their racial armor.

Wanting everyone to have all the same things with no diversity is Communism.
