Please bring back the ghostly outfit.
Please bring back the Harbinger of Mordremoth outfit.
I will always hope for playable Tengu. According to the wiki, Tengu were a “strong candidate” as a playable race during development of Guild Wars 2. I would be interested to know how far along they got before Tengu were decided against.
As the Devs have pretty much stated there would be no additional race(s) added, I don’t really see the point.
I’d rather other new content was what the Devs use their resources on.
When did the devs say there would be no additional races added?
Here’s one interview, but there are several:
Shacknews: You’ve added a new profession, however you did hold off on adding a new race. What led to this decision?
Johanson: For this one, we looked at what we would get out of adding a new race and what benefit it actually brings to the players from a gameplay standpoint. It’s very limited in Guild Wars 2. A new race adds a racial skill or two and a little bit of story, but it doesn’t give that much meaningful gameplay in the grand scheme of things. The race is more context for the early story that you experience. So we wanted to focus things that would provide a lot more gameplay and address parts of Guild Wars 2 that we felt like we really wanted to be able to make a better experience and grow. So right now, we didn’t feel that a new race was a key need for the game, whereas the other things that we’re adding really provide fundamental building blocks for the future.
Still, one never knows what the future will bring. I just wouldn’t hold my breath.
Good luck.
Thanks for the information. I saw an interview with Colin on YouTube where he said we would “absolutely” see new playable races at some point. Granted, that statement was made before the one you linked and Colin is no longer with Arenanet. Regardless, time will tell.

Any word from Anet how long the Halloween festival will be up this year?
I like this idea. Count me in.
I prefer the open style of the Tyria maps.
HoT maps are a convoluted, claustrophobic, cluttered mess, IMHO.
Totally agree.

Replace “Charr” with “Norn” and you have yourself a fine list!
I agree. This would be a nice addition.
Wow makes content to last weeks, from start to finish- anet makes content to last days, even hours.
I hear ya! What with having to grind out the new lvl cap AND grind new gear that is up to lvl, WoW gives its players weeks of new content! Hell, even months!
Having something noone can get anymore is a great value.
They’re just pixels in a video game, how is it great value? -shakes head- I don’t understand people who get selfish over virtual items…
I am with you. Some players really need a “Special Snowflake” title.
Yes, thank you very much Arenanet.

The real problem is that it was a recap, not a trailer.
Only the last 5 seconds was a trailer.
I concur.
I am thrilled with this. That is all I know to say. /cheer
New reward track in wvw and pvp for tribal armor! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
\o/
(edited by revodeel.2651)
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally!!!
I still preview this armor about once a month, have a little inside cry and live in hope
And I thought I was the only one.
I made friends with someone who has the armor set a couple days ago… I feel like this i going to be the closest I ever get to the armor set :|
I’m still optimistic that we will have a way to earn the set at some point. I just hope it happens before my grand-kids put me in a retirement home.
Melee hammer or off-hand axe.

^^ Dev statement that these sets would be obtainable again in the future (about 3/4 down the second page).
A similar dev statement was made on the first reddit AMA about these sets returning. Something like “we are working on getting these sets back in the game.”
Right now it’s making me do a Picard-facepalm.
Even Jean-Luc is awaiting its return.

I personally love that about city of heroes
Same with Champions Online. I reaaaally want my Necro skills to be pink.
Both games were fun in that regard. Pink necro skills would be a sight to see.
The Tribal armor set and other armor sets that were sPvP-exclusive will be obtainable again at some point in the future. There is no ETA as to when this will happen.
Can we get a dev update?
One time bonus of free character slot and lvl 80 boost
No wp charge
Unlimited Transmutations
Unlimited Makeovers
Mini version of all my characters
Ability to use Jedi powers to influence Anet to make more armor sets
CoH had this feature as well. But sure, I’m on board. The more customization the better.
I don’t mind the matching, except it doesn’t match. Or given that the skin tones vary over the body, it selects the absolute worst part. My dark brown bark guardian who wears creams and golds has a dull grey across the torso of her T3. My lemon green/gold warrior gets a muddy brown down the middle of his T2 which just won’t blend to anything other than reds, oranges, and browns. Happily he looks good in dull greens and silvers on outfits.
So yes, I’d like it to be optional since it really impacts the overall look but I want leafy gear for most of my sylvari.
Yes. Again, I would prefer it be an option. I get that some people really like it so I certainly wouldn’t want it removed. I would just like to see an option to disable it.
One of the reasons I stopped using Silvary racial armor, I really hate how my character uses its skin color for the armor bleh! It even happens with the twilight armor one, funny thing is, other races can use the TA armor, yet they don’t use the skin color
Agreed. I think disabling the armor/skin color matching would be a nice option.
I would like to see an option to disable my Sylvari’s cultural armor from matching his skin color.
Bottom line is they’ll be coming back at some point, as stated by devs.
Not really sure why people are arguing against their return.
Not at all doubting you.
But mind linking where this was stated?
I tried to find it and couldn’t.
Sure.

A summary on dulfy of the dev AMA on reddit, look under the items tab:

This unusual silence about it is a bad sign. That they released an advertisement for it makes me more concerned.
Can’t blame them for being silent as they are chastised for virtually every decision they make. Not to say some criticisms aren’t warranted. Just to say that people will complain regardless of what they do.
kitten ed if you do, kitten ed if you don’t.
Bottom line is they’ll be coming back at some point, as stated by devs.

I personally don’t enjoy spending my playtime traveling.
This. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
Word.
Everybody, yeah
Rock your body, yeah
Everybody, yeah
Rock your body right
Backstreet’s back, alright
Oh my God, we’re back again
I’m very proud of my title “Been There, Done That.”

“Combat Healer” is the bestest!
The bottom line is that devs have stated the tribal armor set will be attainable again at some point. That statement was made over a year ago.
A dev update on the issue would be great.
7 days ago, on Reddit
Post about the Apostle and Tribal skins
Good question! Last I heard was they were going back in a long time ago, will try and track down what happened here.
Thanks for posting this. It’s good to see that Colin is aware of the issue.
Your post is predicated on conjecture, straw-man arguments, anecdotal evidence, and other logical fallacies.

Game. Set. Match.
All non-ascended karma armor/weapon/accessory items are soulbound on acquire. It’s been that way for as long as I can remember, and I don’t see them changing it anytime soon.
Karma accessories are not souldbound on acquire. They are soulbound on equip.

Exactly, there’s no argument about whether it should or shouldn’t return, because it’s already been confirmed by devs that it will return.
It’s not a matter of “if,” but “when,” so continuing to argue about that is pointless and a waste of space.
^^ this guy gets it.
I believe that ship has sailed.
To my knowledge, Arenanet has never said when the next expansion will be released. So speculating as to when HoT will be “free” is sort of pointless until we have a release date for another expansion.
As far as a business model, you quoted their plans. If you buy expac #2, expac #1 and core game come along with it.
What is your definition or criteria for “failure”?
“I don’t like it, therefore it failed.”
There is really no way for we players to know the answers to those questions. I’ve seen a lot more people on my friends list online since the expansion came out, but that’s just me.
I would certainly welcome a more broad style of medium armors. I believe it is safe to say we have more than enough trenchcoats at this point.
The bottom line is that devs have stated the tribal armor set will be attainable again at some point. That statement was made over a year ago.
A dev update on the issue would be great.
I am seeing quite a few folks on every map.
There is a page with the locations of all the pets on the Guild Wars 2 wiki. Not sure if that is the sort of help you meant.
Shameless bump. How bout it devs?
As long as I get some Jordans and a pair of Gucci shades to go along with my Escalade mini, I’m in.
Really, just no.
