Reaper is great. Shouts are really good too.

Hey it’s back! I’ll say again what I said before. I crafted this set in PvP crafting. For those that don’t know, the only way you could get this set was to craft it. That was back in the good old days when there was a Mystic Forge in the mists.
So what am I gonna say? Make a PvP track for it. You get one piece per time completing the track. It was pvp only back in the day and should remain that way. Most people just want the shoulder pads anyways.
They said they were gonna re-add this back in the game ages ago, but I wouldn’t hold your breath. ArenaNet can’t even be bothered to put in a sufficient amount of earnable armor sets for 50 dollars let alone putting a set back in for a pvp track.
It’s pretty awful how they treat their playerbase these days. Everyone who bought HoT should have gotten all the new faces and hairstyles for free. They should have been included at launch for 50 bucks.
I am honestly surprised there wasn’t a pvp track for it with the expansion. But still hoping a dev will at least chime in with an update.
Unless I am mistaken, you are suggesting rng for armor sets? I’ll pass.
I am all in favor of new armor sets. Hell, at this point I wish Anet would just start making armor sets for the gem store again since the expansion only added 2 or 3 sets.
But no, not a fan of rng to get new armor sets.
The Tribal armor set and other armor sets that were sPvP-exclusive will be obtainable again at some point in the future. There is no ETA as to when this will happen.
A year later, any dev update?
A fun game that was worth every penny I spent to purchase it. I got that and then some.
Although the context isn’t clear, anyone who would talk to you like that isn’t your friend. I would suggest forgetting them and finding a new friend.
It has already been stated by a dev that the tribal armor set (and other sets) would be obtainable again at some point. Trying to convince them not to is pointless (and selfish).

The “best” way to farm silk is to do anything you like in game and use the coin you earn to buy it on the TP. This maximizes the amount of fun you have, while minimizing the grind/tedium. The game is designed to favor this method.
Second best if buying up containers that drop silk and selling the rest of the contents. (Best tool for this: wiki + GW2 Shinies’ Breaking Bag .) This involves some time researching to identify the applicable bags and choosing carefully the ones that can be bought in bulk for relatively cheap compared to the value of their contents.
Third best is doing stuff that generates these bags or light armor directly: Silverwastes chest farms, Orrian temples, and Silverwastes event farming (in that order, with chest farming almost always being the fastest method).
Since everyone differs in their definitions of “fun” and “tedious”, your mileage will vary.
tl;dr buy on TP, so you don’t burn out doing stuff you don’t like. Let others farm it for you.
Solid answer. Thank you.
Thanks for the link.
I decided to start making ascended armor and I am in need of tons of silk.
What is the best way to farm silk currently?
With the pre-purchase of HoT I got the Revenant finisher. Will other professions get profession specific finishers as well?
Since other professions have PvP titles like Champion Phantom, Champion Paragon, etc. I was wondering what the Revenant’s PvP title will be.
Any word?
Yes, you need to do it again.
When PvP tracks were introduced, they didn’t retroactively unlock for people that had already finished the story mode paths, and everyone had to do them again.
Thanks for the clarification.
I’ve done the story and all explorable paths, but it has been quite a while since I did any of them. So would I need to do them again to have it unlocked permanently?
Recently I decided to work on the Arah reward track in PvP. I had to wait for a couple of weeks for it to open up and now it has around a week or so left.
The entire time I was waiting, my girlfriend had the Arah track open and it is still open now with no “time left” countdown.
So why is it that her Arah reward track has been open for over a month now with no countdown, while mine is only open for a of couple weeks?
Dev response about tribal armor, about halfway down the first page:

Any dev have an update as to when we can obtain the tribal armor set?
Sorry, no update. It will come when it comes, but we’re not able to give a date at this point.
Sorry to hear there is still no update. But thank you for the reply.
Any dev have an update as to when we can obtain the tribal armor set?
Am I the only one who thinks this argument is incredibly stupid and pointless?
If you believe in a deity, fine. If you don’t believe in a deity, fine.
Maybe we could, I don’t know, go with whatever makes sense to us and leave everyone else to do the same?
When it does come back, please make it an armour (not an outfit), so we can mix and match! :-)
It’s in game as different pieces and people that earned it use it as different pieces. I’ll be super kittened if they bring it back as an outfit. It’s not my fault they mislabeled the armor so we didn’t know for sure if we could unlock it in the first place (since it was originally called masquerade and the icon looked like masquerade).
It is in the light armor category in the wardrobe. I highly doubt it will return as an outfit.
I do hope we are able to acquire it soon though.

You honestly made my evening. /cheer /highfive /brohug /handshake
How many more threads do people need to make about this? There are plenty already.
As many as it takes to get the set back.
kitten right.
Daily is stale. Anything to support getting people out and discovering the nooks and crannies of the game is worthwhile.
Agreed. But I still do dailies on a regular basis as is. Gotta get that laurel! Nevermind that I’m up to over 200 now…
No. Whining is whining. The fact that people keep “QQing” means they like to whine. There is a difference between QQing and constructive criticism.
Constructive criticism is something I’m sure Anet welcomes (as they should).
Yeah, the attitude referenced in that line of thought is what gives the so-called “fan-boys” a bad reputation for a number of reasons:
- It’s biased heavily on the dubious position that Devs & game companies can do no wrong, truth is, they get a lot wrong all the time if you pay attention to gaming history
- It ignores the specific merits of the issue by discounting criticisms and bottling all the “whines” into “one bottle”
- Constructive criticism sounds reasonable, but often is not even applicable; example: in the case of the gold/gem conversion change…I guess don’t FREAKIN’ change it in the first place would have been constructive, but that’s about as close as you can get.
- Calling other people who take the time to explain their opinions and back them up with reasoned points should not be called “whiners”, especially when it is rather plain that the name callers show no interest in understanding the problem people are having.
Devs and games companies do get it wrong, agreed.
If there is merit behind a criticism it should certainly be considered. Again, agreed. That said, there is a difference between valid criticisms and whining.
Constructive criticism IS reasonable and, more times than not, is applicable.
People who take the time to explain their opinions and back them up with reasoned points should have those opinions considered, for sure. But again, mindless whining should be dismissed for what it is. I’m willing to bet the devs can tell the difference just like we can.

Anet promised to end world hunger.

Not sure if you’re trying to be funny…
I’d be worried if people stopped posting messages. It would mean people stopped caring about the game. When people stop caring about the game then that is when the game is truly dead. The fact people keep “QQing” means they still have some glimmer of hope that there is someone on the other side that cares as much about the game as they do and wants to fix things to keep the game from dying.

ENOUGH!
there seems to be multiple of these put up every day.Its already in the game, very easy to add it back… its an amazing army set (and we need more of them) thats why you see it, its not yet been addressed.
yes and i’ve said repeatedly that as a pvper i’d feel cheated if they re-added our only unique past reward but pve-ers dont get their (far more than pvp) exclusive past rewards readded.
it’d be better if they added more sets rather than bringing past content back.
Cheated? Let’s be melodramatic about it, shall we? Nevermind that the tribal set is something many players were working towards when it was just arbitrarily made unobtainable.
On topic, this is an armor skin that is clearly desired by many players, myself included. Most requests don’t really seem to even care how we unlock it. I’m also in the same boat. Pvp reward track, karma vendor, gem store, new dungeon skin (two birds, one stone), crafting, etc. I don’t care. Just let us earn it.
(edited by revodeel.2651)
Waiting for a legitimate answer to this question is akin to taking a long bath in a pool of sulfuric acid.
Considering how many threads there are about the tribal armor, I agree. Multiple threads on a somewhat regular basis and no response from devs.
The one good thing I see is that since devs say they read the forums often, they know that the tribal armor is something a lot of players want to be able to acquire.
Craft it, pvp reward track, karma vendor, gem store, random drops, whatever. Just give us a way to earn this armor.
http://www.guildmag.com/guild-wars-2-interview-part-1-general-game-living-world/
Just three things I want to talk about:
1. Two years into the game’s release, no word on pre cursor crafting or even going back to a possible scavenger hunt. Something that has been asked for repeatedly over the last two years, and we have received little to no information.
2. Super Adventure Box – A nice break from the real game and something that many people enjoy, if only for the awesome skins. According to this interview, it doesn’t fit the “narrative structure” aka Living Story and does not sound like its coming back. Another way that Living Story seems to be killing things that people love about the game.
3. Immersion breaking – Living Story has changed the face of Tyria and when newer players traverse the world, they feel like it is destroying immersion. Arenanet is taking a “shoot first and ask questions later” approach. Break immersion, and then evaluate it? Really?
What do you guys think? Or if you have watched the interview, thoughts on other pieces?
1. I agree players have been asking for this and to my knowledge, no real response from Anet. So can’t argue with you there.
2. There are breaks between the living world. To assume that because they aren’t reintroducing SAB right now then they are never going to bring back doesn’t make much sense. It just means they aren’t bringing it back right now. Also, how is the living world killing things that players love? I’m interested to hear.
3. This is ridiculous. The living world is changing the face of Tyria and that “breaks” immersion? Really? What exactly do you think the living world is?
Guild Halls and new races were never promised. They’re on a list of things that might possibly happen, but they certainly weren’t promised. New legendaries were mentioned. They’ll be out when they’re out.
The thing is, I strongly believe if everything was in the game that you listed, there’s be another list of things not in the game a couple of months later.
New playable races were confirmed to be in the future of the game by Colin in an interview with mattvisual. No time frame was given though.
I agree with you on everything else.
Colin said that we’d definitely have new playable races?
Yes. If memory serves he went on to say they weren’t sure which race they would add first and whether to add via the living world or some other route. I’ll find the video after work and rewatch it to be sure.
But if you’re interested it was on mattvisual’s youtube channel and I believe the interview was at PAX or PAX east (not certain though).

After the end of the tournaments, the game will be the same since it was released!
…..Sorry, I call BS….game has many significant changes since 2 years ago.
You might not like them all nor they might not be what you “wanted”, but it HAS changed and LOTS of content has been released.
Blatant exaggeration in these complaint threads are half the problem with “communications” around here. If you are going to post a “rant” try starting it without building your entire post on a flat out lie.
Nope. The content I wanted wasn’t added. Therefore, NO changes have been made. How dare you suggest otherwise!
Seriously though, completely agree with you.
I decided to get the chaos greatsword skin and then sell it. Should I sell it now or wait?
On one hand I think I should sell now as each day there will likely be more of a supply, but on the other I wonder if the prices will go up after the skin costs more tickets.
Advice?
I want this set oh so bad for my necro. This is a somewhat regular request in the forums, I’ve made a thread about it myself. That said, the devs surely know about our desire to be able to unlock this armor set.
I don’t care how we unlock it; pvp reward track, pve karma vendors, etc. Just give us a way to earn this armor!

Where are the new features? Where are the new skills? New weapons? the third heavy armor class? Judging from the posts on this forum this features are continuously requested and no one are listen. And the worst thing is that no one of the developers are saying nothing. The only thing we might assume is that we will never see this things implemented. Can we have some official statement? Can i hope for some change?
p.s. And on the new living story, we have buyed GW2 no SUPER MARIO BROS! More dungeon less jumping.
Let’s whine and complain. Ya wanna? This is what happens when people have no idea what they are talking about and mindlessly complain.
Back to reality, there have been interviews with devs stating that there will be new skills and weapons for existing professions. No time-frame given though (and who could blame them?). As far as a third heavy profession, from all the interviews I’ve watched and read, this is a “maybe” at best and is definitely towards the bottom of the to-do list.
P.S. Please don’t try to speak for everyone. I enjoyed the jumping mechanics in this chapter of the living world and so did many other players I’ve talked to. But I do agree, I also want more dungeons.
I’m expecting mindless QQ posts, multiple “I quit” posts, and maybe a few insert upcoming MMO title here is going to kill Guild Wars 2 posts.
I also expect that I will enjoy season 2 and so will many other players.
I noticed a lot of people are hyped up about the July 1 update, and that’s great and all, but for the love of all that is good, do /not/ hype yourself about things that have no basis.
To address each issue individually:
1. Races: ArenaNet never said we’re getting new races, nor have they dropped any hints at it, at least not for this update.
2. Maps: ArenaNet has definitely implied we’ll be getting new maps, but the number of maps and at what rate we get them is up for debate. There’s no telling if we’ll get a new map the second July 1 comes around or whether we’ll have to wait a little bit into Season 2 to see the new maps.
3. Dungeons: We’ll likely get new dungeons, but nobody should even think to assume we’ll get them right when July 1 rolls around. We got new dungeons during Season 1 as well, but they were temporary. Namely, Aetherblade Retreat and Molten Facility (the rest are actually classified as mini-dungeons, such as Scarlet’s Playhouse).
4. Other: I know I haven’t named every expectation I’ve seen, but please, if you try to expect something from an update in which there’s no evidence it will happen in that update, you will only disappoint yourself. There is a lot to be hyped about, but not necessarily in the way some people are hyping themselves.
1. Yes they have. See mattvisual’s interview with Colin at PAX. He never gave a time-frame but did clearly say there will be new playable races in the future.
2. Agreed.
3. I think most people would agree that at some point we will get new dungeons, no telling when though. So again, I agree with you.
4. My only expectation for this patch is new content that I will likely enjoy. Anything else will be a pleasant surprise.
Add my name to the pot; I didn’t get a coffer either.
Class change? I don’t see that happening. Race change? Maybe.
I suppose if they ever implemented that (race change) the only way to get around the personal story issue would be to completely reset your personal story and allow you to re-choose the race-specific options from character creation? It’s a stretch, but I would think seeing a race change option would be MUCH more likely than an option to change the class of a pre-existing character.
Hey all. So I am about to hit level 80 on my ele and could use some suggestions on a build. I’ve already leveled the other 7 professions and had no problem figuring out a solid build on my own. But as for Ele, I’m still not sure.
So I am looking for suggestions on a complete build for my ele. I will mainly be using him in WvW but may, on rare occasions, take him into a dungeon or other pve content.
My only real prerequisite is that I like the staff and would prefer to continue using it. That said, I’m open to ideas on armor stats, runes, sigils, traits, utility skills, etc.
Welcome to Guild Wars 2! When I first started this game I hadn’t played an mmo in over 10 years, so trust me, if I eventually wrapped my head around this game you will too.
My first character was a guardian. I would say the guardian can be very survivable in the early stages (when I wasn’t being a total noob) thus being a little more forgiving to new players. It is also one of the easier classes to learn IMO. But of course that’s just based on my own experience.
I’ve leveled 7/8 professions so far and all of them have been fun. But if I were you I would just pick one that sounds interesting and go with it. Being new to the game there will be a learning curve regardless of the profession you choose.
If you ever need any help/advice/someone to say hey to, feel free to message me in game.
Going off of past interviews I’ve read and seen, new races will be coming at some point. I believe Colin said something along the lines of “we’re just not sure which race to add first.” Of course I am paraphrasing but that does imply they have plans of adding multiple new races.
As far as new professions, from what I gather that’s towards the bottom of the to-do list. Again, going off of past interviews, I believe their priority is to add new traits, utility skills, and weapons to the existing professions.
Yes Anet should include this armor in pve.
Sell it via karma merchant, in the gem store, etc. Just let us acquire this armor skin. There have been numerous threads about this armor skin (I made one a few days ago) and it is very clear that many players want this armor in pve.
I’ve heard Anet devs and employees say that they read the forums on a regular basis. That said, this must be something they are aware of. So please Anet, take our money/gems/karma and let us acquire this armor skin in pve.
Supposedly you can still do this from the new tab in the bank. Since all the skins are shown there, not just the ones you’ve unlocked. I haven’t tried it though, but you could give that a shot.
This is correct. There is new bank tab that allows you to preview all skins, whether you have them unlocked or not.
Can someone tell me if the tribal armor skin (formally know as masquerade in the pvp locker) can be unlocked via pve or if it is still only unlockable by doing pvp?
Guild Wars 2: About Freakin Time!
Seriously though, I suppose it depends on the theme/setting/details of the expansion. There are already some good ideas in this thread. =]
Here’s an idea. Kill the Queensdale champs whenever you like. The champ train doesn’t run Queensdale. If you wanna ride the train, nothing wrong with that. But if you want to kill any of the champs on your own or with your friends, feel free.
Let them get mad, call you names, etc. Meanwhile, enjoy playing the game however you like.
As of now ascended crafting material is account bound. Has there been any word from devs whether or not we will ever be able to sell these materials?
