minios are the only utilities that do damage in RS, took the ranged mininos so they have bigger chance to stay alive.
why soldier gear ? for the power, just pop RS and you get 4k power with 25 might.
may not be optimal but hey is pve. try fun things.
edit: aah yes i take 10 sec to fill 50% of your LF, so pop out before 50% so you dont miss the 5% extra damage., switch to dagger warhorn, locust+aa, swap to gs, death spiral , and back to rs aa. the spectral grasp is for the “oh kitten, need more lf” moments

No, not to get ascended gear. To get exclusive rewards (skins, etc). Which seem to get locked out now not only behind skill, time and organizational check, but also behind a gear check on top of that.

GS might be better even above 50%. Would have to do coeff calcs for gs rotations without gravedigger spam to confirm though.

coulld you also calculate vampiric, vampiric presence and locus swarm for dagger and grave digger on cd,vampiric and vampiric presence for gs above 50% ?

Gravedigger can be very good but as the same problem of attack speed, the Dagger AA can deal exactly the same amount of damage, expecially if you use the vampiric aura (that’s sad).

  • Dagger auto 2.1s total time cast time. 2.8 total coeff. 1.333s coeff a second.
  • Gs auto 3s total cast time. 3.6 total coeff. 1.2 coeffs a second. ( this doesnt count putting grave digger whenever you can for a dps increase. )
  • Grave Digger spam 1.8s cast time. 3 coeff. 1.66667 coeffs a second.

dagger auto cant make up for 0.3 coeff especially since thats 0.3 is effectively 0.69 because of crits, which siphons cant do.

TL;DR Gs is good.

I’m not sure spam is the best word, and it depends on traits. I think zerker dhuumfire autos > dagger. I suspect it will be something like Focus 4, dagger auto to build LF. Swap to GS and enter RS, RS to auto. Below 50% you will want to drop Nightfall (with its 1/4 cast and 3.5 damage) then spam grave digger between night falls.

May omit the RS phase/part in certain builds and under 3 targets.

i was wondering that, at 50% spam grave digger between night falls seems the way to go, but that mean that after 50% you will be playing a 2 specialization necro cuz we wont return to shroud until the boss is dead.
not sure, wish we could have some dps meters or target dummies for pve.

If this is a “ideal case” PvE question then… yes, dagger does more DPS. RS does cleave though. One thing to note, with reaper if you take soul reaping, you can take dhuumfire since you already max crits with decimate defense. This gives a mild DPS increase of RS AA.

If this is a PvP question: RS AA is quite more powerful because of all the traits applying on it (Unyielding Blast, Reaper’s Might, Death Perception etc…)

Really? Even with dhuumfire and the 15% attack speed traits? That’s a little disheartening ._.

I haven’t made the calculations, so maybe this is enough to make up for the DPS loss. With 25 might, the burning tick is not bad. In general, reaper shroud is still great because it ensures a very easy 25 vuln. Ideal situations always assume 25 vuln, but reaper is actually one of the best (if not the best now) class to apply them in the shroud and make that “ideal situation” an actual thing.

So I think the ideal rotation is:

  • above 50%: RS AA
  • below 50% gravedigger spam

i was thinking the same thing but in a decent party 25 vuln is really easy to reach so i dont think that focusing a reaper to be the one to stack the 25 vuln is smart, knowing that he will leave RS and spam grave digger at 50%. thats why i think that soul reaping is a waste. im not sure if 5% for having more than 50% life force is more dps than a 5 man party with vampiric aura.

Yes, actually. For one, Dhuumfire can be applied much more quickly (and to multiple opponents) in Reaper shroud than Death Shroud. The other biggie to me is the whirl finisher on four, which you could easily use in an ice (RS5) or poison (Staff 3) field. There are smaller things, like the ability to apply chill on RS2, etc.

But in the last BWE I loved Reaper Shroud for this exact reason, that I could now go on the offensive in shroud as a Condi necro. Try it out next week, I think you will like it.

dhummfire is on shroud, after you are out of 50% LF you switch to a LF generation weapons like dagger and warhorn and you go down in dps cuz u r condi necro and you arent doing condi damage + imo you have to take runes to improve the duation of burning to reach 6 secs burning to make it decent, so no might duration from runes.
it feels clunky imo.
if you have a build will love to see it.

as a condi necro you jump in shroud , pop 2 skills and out.
with the reaper is the same thing, reaper shroud is for zerker gear. reaper in general feels power oriented.

am i missing something ?

i will love to see a change in the core mechanic. make the shrouds skills replace our utilities when we jump in and let us keep our weapon skills.
shroud skill 1 could be a passive that gives us a bit of extra damage, the effects from traits and cancels any lf generation from weapons.
will that make us op ?

just sad that after 3 years and a new exp coming, condi necros still have the “the class mechanic” of get a second life bar and loose all your damage.

I can see why epidemic was capped at 25 stacks tho, it will be too op lol just imagine 5 necros in dungeons @ 25 stacks of condis, easily 1500 stacks of conditions w/o cap

it wont help necros in pve imo. bosses are usually alone, and if they spawn mobs, those die in a instant, giving no time to cast epidemic on them. andi f you think about it, there is nothing op in pve. mobs dont complain.

anet shouldnt nerf burning, that will just pull back condis to where they were.
they cant buff bleeding cuz all the pvp community will cry.
maybe increasing the stacks and attack speed of scepter help ?, 1 stack, 2 stacks ,2 stacks + poison on auto attack and 3 or 4 extra stacks on all the other skills ? (talking about necro here, all those proffesion with burning dont get anything, cuz burning)

311 Spite is better for a Sinister Condi build since you know you’re not using an Axe nor a Focus.

I would agree that 211 is better is you plan on using Dhuumfire but honestly I find Dhuumfire really bad even after this patch.

again If you are going Dhuumfire 323 seems like the right way to go. I personally didnt go w/ Dhuumfire so went Bloodmagic instead.

Signet of Spite is for power builds, use Corrosive Poison Cloud instead.

Signet of Spite is superior to Corrosive Poison Cloud in boss fights. But I can see Corrosive Poison Cloud uses w/ trash but w/ Epidemic I don’t think it all that useful.

The focus and axe traits don’t require you to wield the weapon to get the bonus.

ingame its says only axe skills get the 10% increased damage :S

Are they the same as the cds for the focus skill, utility? and wth is a lesser signet ?
does the new Lingering Curse says scepter skills, so offhand weapons and utilities are ignore, what about death shroud ? does it will still affect the shroud skills ? is not scepter.

the change in CC says that we get 10stacks of vuln AFTER using it not after healing so is like pushing ur CC key, instanlly get 10sVul and then heal consuming them ? it have a 1,25sec cast time.

does the damage part of life siphoning is still uneffected by vuln ?

not sure if this is the right forum
I was looking at some weapons in the garderob and i found the pinnacle weapons. They make me feel sick when i wield them in the preview window and rotate my character.
This happens only with them and this is the first time somehting like this happens to me in a game.
I have all my graphic settings in low, native and LOD is the only box active.

Is there a way to fix it ? dont want to see them again, cant imagine how sick i will feel if while stading in a bank while zoomed in and someone with one of those stands next to me and halv my monitor looks like that.

So they’ve talked a bit more about it, using Druid as a template.

Johanson: Specializations is a new system that allows you to take each of the professions we have in the game and grow them almost into a new sub-profession or secondary profession. An example of this is, a Ranger can become a Druid. Once a Ranger becomes a Druid, they have the ability to use the powers of the jungle and that gives them new skills, new traits, they can use a new weapon that a Ranger could never use before, and they get new profession mechanics that fundamentally change the way a Ranger plays when they become a Druid. Each of the professions will be getting one of these Specializations and this also is a framework that we’ll use to grow the professions in the future. This will be the way we add more skills, traits, and abilities to the game moving forward. That’s how we’re growing our existing professions.

So that is what we can expect. Necromancers will get one specialization at HoT launch, with more on the way at some point later down the line. We’ll get a greatsword to use, a new heal, utility set (4 skills), elite, traits, and profession mechanics. At first this will be literally just an upgrade from the sound of it, later on when they release more it’ll actually be a more meaningful choice.

right now the utilities i got are the best imo for condi necro. i cant imagine new better utilities for a condi build without making totally useless the ones we have, BiP, SoS and my personal favorite skill in the game Epidemic (pve necro here)

im really worried that condi necros wont get nothing new, condition been just bad, no usefull elite skills.

More players means more of the stacks get consumed, meaning more damage.

The active is fine now.

yeah i now but my point was that if a stack is consumed it should heal the necro not the player consuming it. right now in pve (only place to use it imo) its a 2k heal +3 might stack with a 28 sec cd if traited. you se the stacks fly disappear in a group of ppl that gets a tiny miserable heal.

i stopped playing after the Escape from LA patch (i think) and wanted to get back and see who is gw2 doing.
-did Anet fixed the condition problem ? when other players with lower condi damage messed up the dps from dedicated condi damage characters.
-is the pet AI still bad ?
-is warrior still the king in pve and thief, mesmer op in pvp ?

gear up for 50% crit chance, get life force from a safe distance with staff marks and spam wells on the zerg. you can change some traits but wells are a must. i use resing signet cuz its fun to safe ppl.

No sir, that trait only applies to Scepter 1 and Scepter 2 skills directly.

is it affected by condition duration from traits and food ?

i will just be happy if our #1 DS skill gets affected by condition damage as it is affected by power and if toughness affect DS will be great (if its not doing it already)

if i put a earth sigil in a scepter and use the +33% duration on scepter skills is the proc from the sigil affected by it ?
