Will Arenanet be attending Gamescom 2016 this year?
(And bring their adorable Quaggan plushies…..)
We visit them each year so wouldn’t want to miss out
I haven’t had this feeling in a while…. I .. I want to go home from work and play GW2 …
I’ve been avoiding HoT maps.
I’ve done some Verdant Brink and I really like the events, but I’m worried I’ll spend too much time in the other maps for nothing. Especially because you need to invest so much time.
I can make time for spending around 1,5 to 2 hours in a map, if I knew the maps were stable and I wouldn’t waste my time being kicked out of maps because of the megaserver and loose participation. I’ve heared too many ingame experiences from players ingame, on the forum and guildies to avoid these maps.
I’d love to hear news about this from Anet so I can go and look forward doing the Auric Basin, Tangled Depths, and Dragon’s Stand events. I haven’t even touched those maps yet…
This is a great idea!
About the ‘griefing’..
If a player tells someone he’s comming to help, and he doesn’t show up. The dead player will always be able to just use a waypoint.
If a person get’s trolled too often, and thus refuses to wait when te message pops up that someone is on their way.. Well that’s unfortunate, but it doesn’t really matter in the end because everyone can continue playing witouth any harm.
The person that offered the help and was actually going there to help can continue watever they were doing.
If a person offers actual help, and keeps showing up to people who already waypointed, they might also think twice before offering help a next time.
People will always adjust their playstyle to their own experiences be they good or be they bad. That it just the way it works and it does not make this any less of a nice idea.
People will use it, people won’t use it.. As long as it doesn’t do any ‘harm’ to anyone it will be fine and people shouldn’t worry too much about ‘what if’.
Nothing about guild managing improvement… Makes me sad
- Seperate the ‘Admin Lower Ranks’ permission into: Invite, remove, demote and promote permissions.
- Add proper guild mission permissions to the guild permissions. Not just who can active the consumable, but also who can accept credit and who can start the missions at location for example.
Also, guild missions in general need way more love……
Alright so I haven’t read all the posted in this merged topic. But I notice a lot of discussion about the prize. So I googled a bit and found these (and a lot more):
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestion-Add-5-slot-Account-Shared-inv-bags
“Five slots, make it a gem store item, even an expensive one. I’d buy it.”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Create-a-Special-Account-8-Slot-Bag
“and id pay 2000gems for such a thing whilst i never spent any gems at all for some bank acess things”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Character-bag-slots-1
“I would pay 3 times the price of a regular bag extension to get an account bound bag extension.”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Make-bag-slot-upgrades-account-wide
“I’m simply voicing my opinion that I WOULD DEFINITELY 100% WITHOUT A DOUBT BUY extra inventory slots if they were account wide and cost the same or slightly higher than buying another character slot (currently $10 I believe).”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/A-Bag-Slot-that-all-Characters-can-use
“I would easily pay ~2000 gems for this feature, maybe 600 gems per character or something similar (price of a new bank tab), and on top of that Id spend a lot more for all the stuff i can now easily use on all my characters.”
“Think of all the people, like myself, who would be willing to throw down $100+ just to buy all the bags at once for all their alts.”
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestion-Account-shared-Bags-1/first
“These shared bag slots would cost ~600-800 Gems.”
Seems like people have been asking for this a lot (there are a lot more posts about this but I can’t possibly link them all :P) And even though there are people who said they wouldn’t pay as much, there were people happily telling the forum that they’d pay a lot for them. So I suppose I can see where their price indication came from….
Personally I’ll wait till they’re on sale.. or at least I will ‘casually’ get the gold together to buy a slot. And I’ll probably start saving for the 2 remaining harvesting tools I need.
Where should i find some “rules” about macro?
to avoid Mouse destruction.
And RSI for that matter. In the 3 years I play Gw2 I started feeling pains in my mousehand after a night of Gw2. Way too much excessive clicking in general. (Double-click to open this bag to get that bag to get this bag which gives this consumable, and then double-click to use that consumable).
Instead of people having to ask to use Macro’s I suppose Anet could take a look at an ingame solution?
The ‘Consume All’ option is already available and could perhaps be implemented more often.
These screens look awesome! I’d love to have one of these as my desktop background.. Can I .. pleeeaaaseee?
It was a merged topic:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Super-Adventure-Box-merged-1/page/58#post5888039
It’s on the first page at the moment :P
So sad, many of you have absolutely no idea, or perhaps just don’t want to admit the reality of what I am talking about. That’s fine, I have no problem getting through the content full Zerk, but the sad truth is that it doesn’t matter if you run glass cannon or tank, the spamming of hitpoint sink mobs with excessive cc and condis just doesn’t equal engaging gameplay for me , and a lot of other people. So please continue to tell me it’s a LTP issue, when in reality is it’s a game design issue, one where Anet took a very lazy path….
You’ve continuously failed to provide a counterargument to the suggestions people have been providing.
- bring stability
- bring condition cleanse
- learn what to dodge
- use class provided mechanics to counter cc (reflects, blurr, distortion, teleports, etc.)These skills are more than enough to get you through ANY HoT content no matter if solo or full zerg. Some classes have it easier, yes, but every class can cope and manage the content. (notice how I didn’t mention toughness, since it’s basically useless in open world content. Also a l2p issue if you did not know)
This is a clear learn to play issue if others can manage but you can’t.
Is this fun to you? Maybe not, but that doesn’t mean it’s not doable or unbalanced. It simply means you do not enjoy this type of challenge.
Without actually going into this discussion (I personally have avoided Maguuma, been busy with other stuff), I think people are not getting what he is saying. he never said he can’t, he said it’s not fun to do so.
With everything I read sofar I think the part I bolded in his previous comment is the part that bothers him:
That’s fine, I have no problem getting through the content full Zerk, but the sad truth is that it doesn’t matter if you run glass cannon or tank, the spamming of hitpoint sink mobs with excessive cc and condis just doesn’t equal engaging gameplay for me
I got ‘stuck’ inside a bugged map a few times. (At the end of 30 min the map they wanted to place me in was ‘full’ so I stayed with an 0:00 timer)
I noticed something different that made me able to complete the JP a bit faster.
The snowflakes at the start seem to appear and dissapear on some sort of timer normally. So you might have to wait 3 seconds for the snowflake to appear at the start so you can start the JP.
When I was on the bugged map the snowflake at the start was Always there.. it only dissapeared when I jumped on it and then appeared again immidiatly. It made me able to start the JP instantly without the 3 second wait at the start.
I don’t know if it’s intended that they only dissapear when someone jumps on them, but then again if you’re alone in the dungeon no one will jump on them so they won’t dissapear at all..
I know it saved me a few seconds everytime when I was alone. I’m definitly not a pro tho so it didn’t do me any good :P
Targets don’t move.. randomly dissapear to appear further down their route. Not able to interact with them while bounty is active.
I could use a gold eater.
I have so much of that stuff because its so easy to come by and i have very little to spend it on.
It would be great to be able to feed it a couple of hundred gold every day and get account bound mats and currencies in return.
You just made me set a new goal for myself…..
In Lost Precipice I’ve noticed the rubble clearing up while upgrading the hall and gaining levels.
However it would be nice to have the option to ‘clean up’ some stuff ourselves
This is one of the reasons why I’ve stayed in Verdant Brink and haven’t even explored the rest yet..
You see I got this ‘ragequitting’ issue and I’m afraid my pc won’t survive if I get kicked out of a map (may it be because it’s getting empty or just because of.. reasons…) in which I’ve build up my progression for which I had to play 2 hours to get it.
So +1 for me!
I completely agree with your post. +1 for your suggestions!
I’d like to add something to the list. I hope you don’t mind, otherwise I’ll delete my post. I’ve tried to bring this under the attention of the forums before but it always sank into oblivion somehow, even though it is repeatedly posted by others aswel.
Guild Permissions in combination with Guild Misisons
- Make it so guild leaders can decide which rank is able to start missions on location / at the flag. Too often the ‘new guy’/ troll / person not listening starts up the missions when we specificly asked everyone not to and wait for the others.
- Make guild leaders able to decide who can accept credit after a mission. (I’ve read there is an NPC at the end of each rush now, can just anyone talk with him/her and accept credit? Or just the leaders / those with ‘guild missions control’ permissions? However it counts for the challenge and puzzles aswel..)
On another note: Split up the ‘Admin Lower Ranks’ permission already.. I’d like to see seperate permissions to either invite, kick, promote or demote.
Thank you for reading
So with everything going on and all…. this is something you decide to post about? And you’re proud of it?
Interesting…
It is an interesting factoid and very likely also him holding up his end of the bet.
I’m glad he’s holding up his end of the bet then, seems very important.
Oh im laughing all right, all the salt. This thread is why, evidence of why devs dont post on dorum right here.
Clearly you haven’t been reading anything at all. Or you’re really narrow minded.. pick one I don’t really care
So with everything going on and all…. this is something you decide to post about? And you’re proud of it?
Interesting…
Excuse me sir, but if they posted those reddit posts on here instead, the atmosphere here wouldn’t be degrading every day.
They obviously have time to post about issues on here if they are currently doing so on reddit, so do it on their own official forums, show support to the customers who paid for their game, and are on here looking for support and direction.
They need to consolidate their posting on gaming issues to one forum, if they want to post somewhere else about non game related stuff they feel free to do so like anyone else. This forum is suppose to be the direct gateway between the company and it’s customers, so start using it. You think it would be ok if Apple started replying to customers over on the Microsoft forums instead? Hey maybe Dell should head over to the Newegg forums to reply to customers.
It’s too uncomfortable for them? well I’m sorry but that’s on them, communication is a two way street, their customers are on here stating their concerns, it’s up to Anet to reply. You don’t throw up a post like Mike did about communicating more with us and then go back to being even worse than before.
They like the up down voting system? then implement it in here on the boards. So bloody stupid how badly this company handles communications and marketing. The atmosphere degrades here no matter what they do. It was degrading during CDIs when Anet was communicating more with us too.
The problem is, here anyone who bought the game can post, even if they no longer play the game. They can post troll posts with impunity and as long as they stay within boundaries, their posts will remain up.
On reddit troll posts are quickly downvoted and so the place doesn’t carry the same weight.
I’ve seen these forums when Anet communicated more. If they don’t like what Anet has to say, they’re as bad as they are now. People don’t want ANet to communicate. They want to hear what they want to hear.
How can you speak for the whole forum community / all the people? I for once don’t want them to tell me ‘what I want to hear’. The answers they are giving on Reddit are in my opinion perfectly fine and clear answers. The problem is that people in here are looking for those answers… They are looking on the forum of the game they bought to find help and understanding in how things work around here.
I’d like to refer to my previous post here (about events needing to fail for precursor collections). People are making posts about how ANET can possibly encourage this gameplay and they conspiring about ANET intentions to let people fail event with whatever reason they can come up with.
And then I go to Reddit and I see this:
https://np.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3qveea/rant_can_we_not_have_precursor_collection_depend/
How many ‘negative’ post did we have on the forums about the failing events needed for precursor crafting lately? How many you think we would have had if this Reddit dev information (which is a month old) would have been right here on the forums? Regardless if they are doing it ‘from home’.
It’s only speculation of course, you can fill it in for yourself, I know I do.
“The problem is, here anyone who bought the game can post, even if they no longer play the game.”
You’re kind of blowing my mind here.. Yes, when I bought the game I bought the right to post on the forum aswel, and yes, even when I no longer play the game. (Hence F2P cannot post on the forums) See.. I bought the game, I payed for the game.. I put the money I work for into the game.
I don’t have a clear view of the people who are posting on Reddit, but I know that when I created my Reddit account they did not ask me if I actually bought the game or have it in my possession. So I suppose they asked no one who’s posting on the Gw2 sub either.
“On reddit troll posts are quickly downvoted and so the place doesn’t carry the same weight.”
That’s Lazy, that’s really lazy. They are letting the people (every random person with a Reddit account) ‘decide’ what needs addressing and what doesn’t. And with ‘decide’ I mean they let the people do their ‘dirty work’? I am sure they are perfectly capable of deciding what’s important on their own forum, they just refuse to. They go to Reddit because it’s ‘easy’ and not because there are less trolls, but because the Reddit community does the filtering for them. At least that’s what I see then.
Like Xenesis.6389 said: If they like it, implement it here. I sure don’t care, especially not if it makes them use their own forums instead.
Then there’s the ‘Code of Conduct’
‘You agree that ArenaNet may take whatever steps it deems necessary to maintain a suitable forum environment at its sole discretion and without notice to you.’
(This is what you need to accept before posting on the forums)
This basically gives them a free-pass to ‘clean’ up the forum the way they want. Why not make use of your own rules?
My conclusion and suggestion
Let Anet implement the down- and upvoting system on their own forums. If that’s really the issue here I suppose there are enough reasonable people on the *official * forums (like there are on Reddit) who can down and upvote posts that are either important or trolling.

Your wording is probably way better than mine.. I can’t agree more with your post.
For those of you who don’t know it (I didn’t until recently), Reddit also has a dev tracker:
https://www.reddit.com/r/gw2devtrackIn the past few days, some devs posted many interesting comments on reddit.
I find this sad… very sad
If I’d use my official title outside of working hours (read: ‘my own time’) to communicate any information about my company in any ‘extern’ way I’d get fired…. But I suppose this works differently for Anet, so anyway…
I can’t believe the argument: ‘Too much negativity here, they are absolutely right in prefering to post on another forum.’
Personally I think they have nothing to prefer.. They should ‘grow a pair’ and start taking some responsibility in actually talking to their actual costumers on the forum created by ANET themselve to communicate about their product.
Now I’m not saying they should respond to every thread, that’s ridiculous. I’d ignore the ‘loads of kitten’ threads aswel and that’s what they should do. But there are also a lot of constructive posts here sometimes adressing the same issues over and over again. Heck some of them are even [merged] which, in my opinion, means they even acknowledge there is a ‘problem’ but without a repsonse. (Or is there a Reddit link I haven’t seen yet?)
Anyone noticed these kind of post for example?:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Why-do-we-promote-this-behavior-Nevermore-IV-Merged/page/2#post5823323
It’s about events needed failing, a topic that has been adressed a LOT since HoT release. I’ve been following these threads and my experience is this in this order:
1. People start asking questions about if it’s intended that events need to fail to be able to retrieve a certain collection object
2. People are still asking why, and some are suggesting how to obtain the item in a different way or how else the event can go (yes these kind of posts excists)
3. People post ‘angry’ threads about how Anet can be promoting this kind of playstyle..
But wait… what’s that comment there in the topic I linked???:
There is a thread on reddit discussing this issue that has a developer response to the effect that they are removing requirements for failed events in these collection progressions.
Take heart, ANET agrees with you.
I mean.. seriously ??!!
How many angry and negative posts could have been avoided on the ‘Offical Forum’.. I wonder….
Edit: Grammar and stuff
Btw: The input Reddit has is not bad. It can even help, but it’s not the place the devs should ‘hang out’ in their spare time.
(edited by shaquinna.2869)
What if….. we don’t hear a lot (or any) about HoT fixes or get any answers because they are working too hard to surprise us with Super Adventure Box for christmas? :O
jumps on the hype train
This has always totally ground my gears aswell.
THIS is the supposed official communication point for GW2- a year or so ago there was some sort of massive tech hitch and the game was down for sometime – the first all the hundreds of people heard about a possible solution was from some guy who had just been in Reddit, nothing on anything formal just a reddit post and FB post – another time there was some sort of bug issue that we only heard from by another forum poster who had had to TRANSLATE the Portuguese Anet FB comment into English and post on the forums.
I don’t give a rats kitten where you ‘prefer’ to post – have some professionalism.
+100
Remove all Waypoints → Add mounts
grabs popcorn :P
We already had ‘Hide and Seek’ events and ‘Hide the decoration’ events inside the guildhall… We’re still figuring out what to do next… It keeps us (and the guild hall) busy at least at some times
You do not have to stay inside the instance or wait for the rush timer to finish. I’ve seen people confirming this on the forums.
However, rewards are bugged. So people might not get any anyway
Fix these first please:
- Guildies NOT getting rewards for guild puzzles even though they actively join and finish aswel. (Make this a priority!)
- Guildies not getting rewarded for the Guild Race (Make this a priority!)
Again: Make the Guild Mission Rewards a Priority !!! Just a shout-out because it is highly frustrating!!
- Gathering in the guild hall for the missions.. Still everyone scatered around megaservers with no option to join other maps having to leave and re-enter. Beginning guild hall capacity is too low.
- Message to accept credit for the guild puzzle kept popping up in the end room for some guildies. Some of those did not get a reward even if they chose ‘accept’.
- Guild puzzle mini maps are bugged
- Guild puzzle waypoints always contested (even after activating on location), when we have the one in Plains of Ashfort all WP’s near are contested and we have to run from a WP at quite the distance.. Is that really the ‘convinience’ of the guild portal? On another note guildies are still scattered over megaservers after joining together from the guild portal in the guild hall.
What’s the ’use’of a guild portal if not more convenience? Seriously just Waypointing to the location is more convenient.. (Well i suppose we don’t have to pay the 3 silver waypoint costs, but believe me most of us rather pay..)
- When the guild rush starts people get messages that the guild started in another instance and if they would like to join that mission. It ,again, seems to scatter people all over megaservers. We decided to ignore the message now, that does not mean it does not need to be fixed.
- Guildies not transforming after the Guild Race having to do it again. (Not even after running to where the chest is supposed to be or running back and forth)
- Guild Hall visual bugs. Lost Principice Rock piles stay behind after market restoration 2 blocking spaces and covering NPCS’s
- I once entered the guild hall (Lost Principice) and it looked like it was fully upgraded, every building was build and everything looked ‘finished’. Spoilers
Suggestion: Make Guild rushes instanced like the challenge and the puzzle.Small guild can temporarly ask for help inviting people and ‘kicking’ them after.
I’m just really frustrating at the moment, guild missions are not fun this way. Especially not if people participate activly and don’t get a reward. So I’m asking (nearly begging) stop rolling out new content until you fix the current one..
Edit: another one to add to the list
Another guild activated the same bounty as we had (Poobadoo). While we were fighting the bounty suddenly failed. Supposable the other guild timer ran out.. so our bounty failed aswel. Just … how… is this logical? We had 4 minutes to kill Poobadoo which is more than enough.. and just because another guild with a smaller timer activates our bounty has to fail aswel because their timer ran out? Seems like a bug to me.. Hopefully
(edited by shaquinna.2869)
Everyone ofc could be anyone with proper role, but on the other hand… why guild would like to block any member from using scribe? At least as long as they need to use their own mats since all they do for guild then is increasing its scribe lvl which is good i think.
But yeah, make it being permission is a good idea.
If people are only able to use their own materials they can use watever they want to make watever they want. But if they can acces the whole guild material storage (being it the guildbank or the treasury or however it would work) I’d rather see it as a guild permission. But you already sort of mentioned that
What I believe is BS is that its GUILD profession and yet only 1 person uses it. So either your guild helps that single person and then cost is quite fair but what if said person stops playing/anything and your guild is left without scribe OR you level it alone which is way too expensive.
I’d like to see scribe being leveled as guild profession meaning that EVERYONE in guild could use scribe reciepes this guild has unlocked, and no matter who crafts it makes progress for whole guild.
Just want to add that I think the ‘EVERYONE’ should be: the ones with the guild permission to do so.. otherwise I agree with your post. That would have been more fun in my opinion.
Just a quick addition to my previous post.
I know what ‘suppression’ is, i was just indicating how much I was actually mailing :P
As a guild leader, communicating a lot with my guildies trough mail, I find the suppression highly annoying. Still voting for a system that allows more mails being send (before the suppression kicks in) between guild members. But that’s not what this topic is about so i won’t go into that any further
I use the ingame mail a lot. Specially for mailing my guildies
I got a subscription on a weird pop up called ‘mail suppression’ though.. seems to come with it..
Just because there’s a category for it doesn’t mean people will use it. I’ve seen alot of FotM posts in open world lately – despite there being a FotM section already.
Such a pessimistic person ….
I like this idea. The open world event tab is too crowded at the moment. With parties filling up quickly leaving a random spot in the list open to be filled again by a new party. Players have to keep scrolling up and down hoping to see the right party at the right time… before it fills up again that is.
I’ve seen a lot of people asking for this on the forums lately. It would be a nice addition to make (at least) a ‘HoT’ and a ‘Central Tyria’ section.
Could we not have race instanced like challenge?
+1
Happy Anniversary!

2.) Normal Bank access is missing
Please add that by default with guild bank access. Yes you can currently use the scribing station to access your bank. But there should be real bank access.
A specific bank NPC is indeed missing, you can however acces your bank trough the scribing station.
Just in case you didn’t know yet
“We are rolling out a beta version of a 64 bit client today if all goes well – please give this a shot if youre having crash issues and let us know if that does the trick!”
I got a few points
1. Crashes in new HoT content (for example during long lasting map events)
2. Crashes in Lion’s Arch
3. Crashes in Silverwaste
4. Crashes in Queensdale
5. Crashes in the guild hall
6. Crashes while opening the Guild Panel
7. Crashes while opening the Hero Panel
8. Crashes while opening the Gem store
9. Crashes while opening the
10. Crashes during Shadow Behemoth
11. Crashes during Guild Missions
12. Crashes during Tequatle
13. Crashes during dungeons
Just … crashes
Ever since HoT release.. crashes everywhere. Not just me, a lot of others.

To point out the seriousness of these issues and the time span it should be fixed in.. see point 8.
(edited by shaquinna.2869)
Why should they? You just found a fix.
GW2 has had this kind of problem from the start and all they have to do is wait for players to find some sort of middle ground where they still keep playing. You just found it, which makes it almost like “It’s ok Anet, I found a partial solution which does satisfy me, as I can still play”.
So, why should they work on a fix when we ourselves found one and are still playing (and paying).
So Anet is telling me that the pc I worked hard for to build is too good for their game?
Awww.. stop it you!
You cannot honostly tell me that Anet considers it to be a fix to just play on ‘potato settings’, if your pc is ‘too good’.
That’s plain ridiculous and false advertisement. They always show off their games at the best settings, just to tell everyone afterwards you can’t play on them because you’ll have severe crashing issues.
I’ve spoken to a lot of people ingame who have the same issues, guildies, friends, random people in the map who call out ‘another kitten crash’.. In Silverwaste it’s no longer “looking for group anti-dc” it’s now “looking for group anti-crash”.

Everyone complained about the mini Gwenn.. (I always spell that wrong) dropping at a ridiculous drop rate from ToT bag last year. This year the vendor sells it for 100 cobs.. which is a lot.. but it’s not gated behind RNG anymore.
There’s a huge difference between the two. Gwyn was requiring well over 100k bags to obtain. Now, it’s down to 1 in 10k or so. Which is a slap in the face to those of us that worked all year long for her. If they make it a simple recipe for the Endless Batwing Brew that would be a slap in the face to those of us who have obtained it.
So many complaints about this yet, all I see are people playing on the new maps instead of farming the heck out of Halloween.
I’m not sure if I’m following your post corecctly. But I just want to mention that i’m not complaining about anything. I’m just telling what I’ve seen on the forums last year (the complaining) and what happend this year, with Gwynn. So I won’t be surprised if the ‘slap in the face’, as you’re stating, will happen again next year.
I don’t complain if they bring anyting back, I don’t complain if they don’t bring anything back either.

No thx, I’m making a ton farming bags.
In all seriousness let the leets get their shiny first and have a year running around feeling special. It will probably cost 10 candy corn next year or go on sale at the gem store.
You read it here first.
Everyone complained about the mini Gwenn.. (I always spell that wrong) dropping at a ridiculous drop rate from ToT bag last year. This year the vendor sells it for 100 cobs.. which is a lot.. but it’s not gated behind RNG anymore.
Seeing the Nightfury shoulders are an actual recepi in the Mystic Forge (like many weapon skins are aswel), I don’t think they’ll let a vendor sell them. Perhaps the endless bat tonic will be available next year for 100 cobs?
However I’m not really /suprised (hehehehe) about anything anymore..
Well yes… the whole Pact crashed in the Maguuma Jungle, and you see often choppers crashing around. The whole expansion is one giant crash site.
OH.
You where talking about client crashes. Mmm. Never got 1. Maybe lower you settings? Upgrade your PC? Might help…
Have you even read this thread, or are you trolling?

It would be a lot easier to donate if I didn’t have to know ahead of time what was needed. Put it in my inventory. Then jump over to the guild hall, speak to the NPC and add the donation.
What would be better. Have the donation panel on the guild UI at the top of the screen. I can be at the bank in LA. Open the donation panel. Pull stuff out of my material inventory and put it in the donation panel.
Or if that’s too immersion breaking (or whatever). When I go to the guild hall, opening the donation panel also opens up my bank and it’s material inventory.
I agree
I find it annoying that I have to run back and forth to see what we need and what I have.
Your second suggestion I find to be a good one. It would work like it works with the Mystic forge and exploring crafting recepies. You’ll only see the items you have in your inventory and on the bank that you can actually use. And therefor only those items you’re actually able to donate. I’d like that.. I’d like that a lot.
I feel like the butterfly wings are a bit ‘small’ to be able to glide with them. On my (huge) male norn you have to look twice to see them from the front.
However it would be amazing to watch him (being a huge norn dressed as a dragon) glide with those tiny wings xD
And I like the idea of the broom and carpet aswel!

If you’re unaware, those potions are for the PVP tracks regardless of rank being maxed. Your guildie is giving up fairly serious loot turning those in.
I suppose I am unaware. I do not play much (read ‘any’) PvP myself.
All the more reason, in my opnion, those potions should not be included…
Thank you for the info! I probably need to change the ‘thanks’ to a ‘very very very big thanks’ now. Confirms that we’re very lucky to have such dedicated members.

Also, i was wondering… I see some people saying guild hall progression should be based on a guilds size, as in how many members it has. So that smaller guilds need less materials to build upgrades.
Wouldn’t that mean that guilds would be able to ‘cheat’ easily? Like telling everyone to leave (perhaps to a temporary alt guild), leaving about 10-20 players. Capture the hall, build the upgrades letting people donate stuff trough guild banks and mail. Inviting someone who has account bound stuff to donate to the guild temporary ..
And when the progression is far enough just invite everyone back bringing the total member count back to, for example, 400?
Even if Anet would implement progression in a way so it would benefit smaller guilds, they would have to let you select a ‘member cap’ when you create a guild or something.. Or adjust something with the guild license to increase your guild..

Although I haven’t resorted to being a beggar (yet), as a guild leader I do agree with what you’re saying!
My guild roster has 300 players but the reality is that we have about 40-50 active players. As far as I’m concerned, what is being asked in terms of the materials is extraordinarily excessive. Not only do they want standard farmable mats, they also want players to give up their LUCK & PvP Reward Potions. IMO that is just plain ridiculous!
I agree with the PvP reward potions and the luck. I think they should not ask for account bound items in any way. We were lucky we had someone who is a fanatic PvP’er and stacked up on the potions because he already maxed his rank. (Thank you if you’re reading this!)
Asking members to give up their progress in game for the guild hall is wrong..
Yes, I know materials also count as progress towards crafting and making stuff in the Mystic Forge etc, but in my opinion asking for account progress like PVP rank or luck for magic find is something different.
In my guild, as a leader, I record all the donations that are coming into either the treasury or guild bank. The list is growing longer and longer but at the same time, recording it is important because you will know among all your members, who are the one who cares and the one who don’t.
This is universal truth to all guilds, there are people who cares and people who don’t. Though it is noble for leaders to want to take care of everyone, but it is also very important to know the members who care and the members who don’t.
I do the same thing. As a leader it’s nice to know who helped us towards guild hall progression. I’m not saying those who don’t don’t care, but I’d still like to know who actually helped.
We’re lucky with the members we have who’re helping us towards our guild hall progression. We’re not ‘rushing’ our guild hall, but ofcourse we’re all very excited and we do want to see all the new stuff!! o/
I’m having the same trouble as OP.
I’ve had more crashes this week than in the 3 years I’m playing GW2. I can play any ‘heavy’ game (like Witcher 3) on high settings with no problems whatsoever.
Reporting every crash I had sofar (if they let me, sometimes the box to report just disssapears), this is getting really frustrating. I’m constantly loosing progress in events as Silverwaste. And I haven’t even started to explore the new maps yet.. I’ve only been enjoying the Halloween events and some Silverwaste for the guild Halls.
Like I said I NEVER had any problems with crashing until after HoT. This is an issue on Anet site. I hope they fix it soon!!
