Problem is that during busytime it’ll be harder to get to a hologram to fight them. There will be more ppl going out in small groups to hunt them, I suspect.
Gawd, I’m gonna get you-know-whated-like-Wethospu so hard. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Thank-you-ANet-23
Players Against Stacking and Skipping, EU Edition? (PASSÉ?)
Pretty sure Zhaitan created a man-zombie and a woman-zombie for a reason, and it wasn’t to make lesbian-zombies.
Who shot JFK?
/stares at the Asura
They should follow Zhaitan’s will. Maybe he wrote some kind of zombie-bible for them.
I usually try dredge until my armor is fully broken + 1 naked try for lawls then alt+f4 . Protection is ridiculously overpowered on PvE mobs , u cant damage them and they almost one shot you.
Faith in hilarity of thread restored.
Social and non-social have very little to do with elitism.
Whoa whoa whoa. Next thing you’ll be telling me is that zombie-man came from zombie-gorillas.
We, the players, were given a choice. While we were all split pretty evenly, the choice was made to go with one over the other. ANet’s intent is to show the players they can make choices that actually affect the story/world. To go back on this would be to defeat that idea and turn the Players’ Vote into a sham.
im just looking for the real reason behind the hate behind rangers as well! but if you played a ranger and understand the mechanic of it maybe you can come up with some ideas and builds to make it a good profession to run with.. and instead say its a profession not needed
The real reason? People hedge their bets. They don’t want to deal with the chance of getting a player who won’t pull their weight as equally as they feel they do in a party. You can consider this prejudice, because it is. However, you have to wonder where this prejudice came from – and it comes from past experiences. You getting kicked in the future is based off of other rangers’ performances in the past.
Rangers have a reputation. That reputation is that they contribute less in a party than many others. This comes from people choosing to play rangers as long-range characters. The problem with this has been stated several times in this thread. Can’t share buffs, loves to blindly move monsters out of position thus lowering overall group DPS, is out of range of helping fellow teammates up if they get downed.
When ANet gives you items…
… Make item-ade?
Now, I shall break you.
They’ll make a Gem-Fed Transmut-o-matic.
Personally, I hate to label a person lazy because they find something a Grind. I myself could do FotM and be entertained by it for a good long while. If I tried to do something like Fishing as WoW did it, I think I’d be bored to tears and I’d never want to Grind the levels. It’s not because I’m lazy (I run my own business in RL along with an evening job for fun). It’s just that some things just aren’t entertaining to some people. I think I can respect that.
Edit: Of course, I dislike when people feel Entitled to things. But that’s a whole ’nother issue. >_>
If the mechanics existed, and was just altered, a better description would have been: 20% bonus chance at additional ore mined is replaced with a chance for sprockets.
Reminds me of a Monty Python sketch.
Imagine a guy who played ice hockey and was the goalie. Now he plays basketball. There is no goalie in basketball. But he wants to use the goalie skill set and feel like he contributes. How much respect do we have to give to his ideas to revamp the rules of basketball to allow goaltending?
That last analogy is actually in accurate. The healer in this case would be the catcher and Baseball definitely has those, there are also catchers on each mound on the way to home. So yes there is such a thing as a goaltending process in Baseball, even if it’s not like the rest Baseball is a complete picture of rules to handle all situations.
Don’t automatically close an instance when the party leader leaves.
Party chat should remain in the chat window after leaving a group.
Blocked players should not be able to join your groups through the LFG system.
Party chat and blocked players I totally agree with. I think the party instance owner issue is a lot deeper and way more entangled than we suspect and not so easily resolved.
An update that would require less effort but would improve gameplay is perhaps upgrading the mechanics of NPCs and reducing their ridicolously high health pool?
Any ideas on specific mechanics that could be upgrades?
ANet wouldn’t have been the first to eliminate the “copper, silver, gold” schema. FFXI did it (they only had 1 currency, named “gil”), and I’m sure other MMOs have done so as well. (Fond memories of some items being worth 30,000,000 gil.)
Honestly, the copper, silver, gold (and in some places, platinum) schema is well established. Yes, it may take a little while for first timers to understand that 100 copper = 1 silver (like 100 pennies = 1 dollar) and 100 silver = 1 gold, but once you have it, you should… have it.
Sadly, there isn’t any foolproofing that ANet can do to prevent a person from sending away their money. The universe can always build a better fool. Can they add confirmation screens? Absolutely. And people will still confirm that they want to send all their gold to some complete and total stranger. The question comes down to how much effort and inconvenience are they willing to build into the system versus the amount of complaints they’ll receive and have to deal with.
Edit: Consider this merely a life lesson that didn’t cost you anything more than some imaginary currency in a game. Always check twice when you mail/sell/purchase and item – whether in game or in real life.

I like watching for his right hand. It moves forward just before he kicks. Watching his right hand is also useful for his uppercut move in phase 2. For the uppercut, his right hand moves waaaay back, then bang!
Edit: Review some solo videos on Youtube. Watch for a kick, then replay those 5 seconds a few times over just so that you can pick out the tell without stressing yourself about dodging it. Then you can go back in game and test yourself out.
I’m guessing you just read the thread I just sadly participated in.
And yes I’ve been tempted too. Especially the dual wielding legendaries guys.
Yup.

On a funny and semi-related note, about two weeks ago I joined an Arah P1 group that asked for “Experienced Only!”. When I got in, they asked me, “Do you know what to do?” And I responded yes, so they said, “Okay, can you lead the way and explain the strats?”
I was like, “…”
I like the concept!
I believe a bounty could be abused, so I would say that would be nixed.
Would players be named or unnamed?
but from all my experience ingame i have imo, the best way to make someone understand, is to make fun of them and provoke, so they avoid being the joke.
Just me speaking here, but I personally feel like this is the worst way to communicate and make someone understand. I usually think that being well mannered and positive works really well… OH and knowing when to just walk away from a conversation well before it comes to butting heads.
For people that you walk away from, it’s best to just let them experience things on their own… far far away from you.
Really not your fault, Lilith. The post I was quoting wasn’t from you, and her reaction is merely based on this fragile thing humans have called ego.
I don’t think you should be sorry. And I don’t say this to be mean to Sarahfull. In a sense, I pity her. I think that she is over-reacting and I think that feeling sorry is merely feeding into her over-reaction and teaches her that throwing a small fit will get her what she wants. This kind of behaviour should not be patronized.
exactly.. And who’s say these people aren’t? Just because they don’t follow suit and make themselves dps machines. Run with one of these people who really know how to play the build correctly..Im sure you will be surprized..
I am always surprised… that it takes 3 passes to kill evolved destroyer instead of 1. Then I find out that only myself and the engi is zerker.

Thank you, colesy.
Destroying items doesn’t remove gold.
Removing gold removes gold.
The sky is blue because it’s blue.
Destroying assets which have value also removes the gold those items could’ve been sold for from an individual’s portfolio.
If I own 4 paintings and light them on fire….
Let’s say that there’s 100 people in an economy with 10 gold each, meaning there’s 1,000 gold in the system. Let’s say that each person also owns 4 lvl80 rare swords. (400 rare swords.)
If 50 people throw their swords into the mystic forge and get back a single lvl80 rare sword back, how much gold did the system lose?
Edit: Bonus question: how much was each sword worth (assuming they were the exact same sword) before and after the 50 mystic forge attempts?
Double Edit: The sky is blue because of Raleigh Scattering.

Pic #3 is a really good shot, MastaNeenja!
I don’t need to have any authority to judge anything, and I don’t need to be anybody. I have every right to judge everything in this game, like anybody else.
True, you don’t need to be anybody to cast a judgement, however, you should judge things based on evidence founded in reality. Your opinion
You are not “given” a choice to skip, it’s an unexpected loophole like any other
is not founded in anything. It’s just that: your opinion. When you make judgements based on only your opinion, you’re being prejudgemental. You’re being prejudice.
If you actually read Hrouda’s post, they actually DID consider that people would skip. It’s not a loophole, it was a careful calculation on their part about what they wanted to have optional and what they didn’t want to have optional.
Lastly, I noticed that you chose not to respond to one of my previous posts. Mind giving a thoughtful response to it?
Next Engineer Update: Due to popular demand, Engineer grenades have been rebalanced to 600 range to make them more realistic.
I like to think that the general populace tends to make things worse when they bring up issues like this.
It’s like Kralkatorrik swallowed an adventurer and a rainbow then farted you out o___o
How do you get auras to stack, btw? I’ve had it accidentally happen to me a few times.
waypoint zerging the bosses continuously until you wear through their stupid amounts of HP 15 minutes later
With good team synergy you don’t have to waypoint zerg.
My thought is that five people focused on doing their own thing – for topic’s sake, let’s say five zerker/signet warriors – will have a harder time getting through a dungeon than five people who each bring something to share with the others. Like a guardian that shares protection, or an ele that spams buffs on attunement swap, or warriors that use shouts/banners.
This is not to say that 5 signets is valueless. I think it has its right place and time, I just think that in a group setting, the power of your group buffing abilities is more powerful (even with the cooldowns) than signets which are more powerful when in a solo situation.
o_o; That sounds rough… he’s a super fun fight. We do him pretty regularly on SBI, usually right around daily reset time. (Not sure if they do that on weekdays, I can only catch him on weekends due to work.)
There is zero room for error if you run a DPS build
Isn’t this just a truism of a DPS build? You give up survivability to deal more damage. If you want survivability, you must put it into your build somewhere, whether it be vigor for more dodging, or passively in more toughness/vitality, for example.
Perhaps it may behoove you to have 2-3 pieces of knights or soldier’s gear that you can quickly swap into before you start that section of the dungeon.
Additionally, if possible, consider what your team composition is and what assets they might be able to use differently for this fight. Guardians are always valuable in fights like these.
Best of luck!
I too really love GW2, and I agree that there is a serious flaw in their game design. I love piloting huge mechs. Like, awesome mechs equipped with LRMs and Lasers, chainguns and autocannons. I want the destructive power of being able to level cities. I want to play how I want, too.
I wish they would have mentioned that such features as mechs wouldn’t be in the game. All they mentioned was that the traditional trinity wouldn’t be in the game. Why have I been so misled into thinking I’d be able to pilot mechs in this game?
Ppl with their cool photoshop skills :P

Me and Jormag having a little photoshoot.
I have A LOT more awesome pictures if any of you would like to see, just let me know and I’ll share a few more.
I like the middle picture. Very pro.
I play for fun. I don’t want work hard, absolutly not.
Even with 70AR, FotM 50 would be the wrong place for you. If you can’t equate hard work with fun in your mind, then you shouldn’t be there.
This is by design, though. If there aren’t players willing to fight to hold the land from the undead, the undead will reclaim it. It’s the dynamic in Dynamic Events.
You can always go and fight to uncontest the waypoint. You could even ask in /map for people to help out too. I’m sure there are people that want those waypoints to get uncontested too… maybe they just need a point person to rally around.
I enjoy GW2. So do my guildies. I find that the game is 10x more enjoyable when you surround yourself with people with great attitudes.
Aside from complaints from people being kicked, I’ve actually never heard from a person who did the kicking actually say they did it so they could sell the spot.
Perhaps I’m looking at the situation through rose tinted glasses, but I think situations where two people already have the intent to kick their party members before a dungeon starts is very rare. More likely is that during the run, people do something that really upsets the controlling party, and then they decide to kick the person.
Thanks for setting up these challenges, Lilith, they’re a lot of fun!
The influence is spent. It’s gone if you cancel.
I applaud your efforts. I believe that if you believe in something, keep standing up for it.
Why not just do random dynamic events, hunt for gear, participate in living story, do WvW to level up?
Hmmm. There are people who have been asking for a while that armor stop removing charr horns. Looks like they’re working on it.
RemiRome is pointing out a very small, but significant difference. One that’s easily confused.
It isn’t the act of leaving a party that wipes chat. It is the act of changing zones that does (if you aren’t in that party anymore). But since when you leave party while in a dungeon it also auto kicks you from the instance, they happen at the same time.
As a quick experiment, party up with a friend, say something in party chat, them break party without changing zones. Your party chat remains. Change zones and it will disappear.
