Well, the drill sent out a surge that went westward into the Maguuma jungle, and we saw a huge, scaly mouth open deep underground there. Marjory spoke afterwards about investigating the “roar” that was heard, and her Seraph sister mentioned heading into Brisban.
So, altogether, I think chances are good we’ll be fighting the Jotun in their icy mountain lairs in S2.
I think your sense of humor was lost in this thread. ; )
One of the things I love is the (usually) fast pace of content release. It’s great to have something new on offer to do every couple of weeks. No waiting months and months for some new content. I think the anticipation is almost as good as the release. =)
I also am most appreciative of the dye system. I can change my look on a whim at any time.
Hey, Devs! Thanks for all your hard work! =)
You say everyone uses and knows UTC. I don’t think that is true. It may be wherever you are from, but I can’t say it is worldwide, as much as it maybe should be.
Many, many computers use Windows Vista or higher, and it comes with an automatic time zone converter, right in the corner. =)
First off, no one said the ‘Features’ patch will be April 2nd. Secondly, I don’t think there will be a new zone, or new dungeons. Colin just stated what kind of things to expect. Your expectations may be too high.
I wonder if the ‘stupid, spineless carebears’ purposely accept the party invites just so the ‘trash-talking PvPers’ end up crying on the forums. Wouldn’t that be the ultimate ‘trash-talk’? Lol.
I’m not interested in playing the TP, but that replica is super cool! Well done!
I’m not sure a sequel lore-wise is the same as a sequel mechanic-wise/gameplay-wise. Guild Wars 2 is an MMORPG, where GW1 was/is a CORPG. One persistent (mostly), the other instanced (mostly).
The game becomes extremely child-orientated when every zone is perfectly balanced for my demands and my comfort – which is completely separate from the actual reality of true MMO gaming, which is all about levelling up, becoming strong and becoming the best. If you uproot these elements, you risk turning a game into a beautiful theme park resort.
so you’re comfortable when you’re getting 2shot by trivial mobs even considering level scaling? ok
I’m a mesmer. I’m not worried about receiving damage.
Then, I’m truly confused by your OP. I thought the whole premise of the thread was lamenting about how much damage your ‘Mesmer’ took.
It’s much cheaper for someone to earn the rewards now, than it was when I earned them. I think that’s enough bonus and incentive for the so-called ‘non-GW1’ players.
Besides, (and this is an actual promise ArenaNet made), it was stated that the Hall of Monument rewards would never be available by other means.
I’m sure you could earn your own rewards if you put your mind to it.
Good luck.
New Player, Sad Player. Expansion ruined it.

OP, you might try Dry Top and The Silverwastes (and/or Living World Season 2) before venturing on to the Heart of Thorns maps. That might prepare you a bit more for the increased difficulties.
Good luck.
Hmm…I always hear the ‘Level-Up’ sound effect. It is quite noticeable. Maybe adjust your sound options?
It seems odd to me that so many players see the bottom disclaimer, ‘This mail was sent by another player. It is not from the GW2 Team.’, and still post and question if it is legitimate. What more can the Devs do to assure others these are just scams?
I’m not trying to pick on you, OP (because many others have noted the bottom disclaimer, and still posted, questioning it), but as a self-professed IT professional, what more can the mail state that would convince you, beyond a doubt, that it is a phishing attempt?
And, if you suspect it is a ‘scam’, why post the nefarious link, where others may visit?
No to Open World dueling.
No to inspections.
The riding toys aren’t very popular, even the hovering ones; but, if someone wants a motor bike, ..ok, I guess.
OP, you could always try the Dolyak Express. =)
Why are the arguments for more choice ‘bogus’? You want fewer ‘tasks’ to achieve, and others want more. You, too, have a choice. Remember, you expressly agreed (by accepting the ToS) that you had no issues that would cause you distress when playing the game.

If it is any consolation, I was playing Pong as a seasoned adult. I’m sure you can do the math. Lol.
And yet, time and again, we see threads and posts begging ArenaNet to bring back this or that content (have you ever seen the Cantha thread?) from Guild Wars, often with the statement, “Take my money!!!”
I’m not sure where the ‘2000 Gems’ comes from, seems an arbitrary number. Of course, no one is forced to purchase anything, sans the game itself (and any expansions for added content). Actually, with Play4Free, one is not even forced to purchase the game, come to think of it.
(edited by Inculpatus cedo.9234)
One-day offerings are usually only on for 24 hours. From 9am PDT one day to 9am PDT the next day. (Or PST during the fall/winter season, of course.)
You could try the CS Team; they might accommodate your request.
Good luck.
Recipes are often (or always Account-bound). Learning is character-bound. It always has been. Only one character can learn a recipe.
From the Wiki:
Crafting
Crafting recipes must be unlocked or “learned” before they can be crafted. Recipe unlocks are character-based: learning a recipe on one character does not unlock it for other characters on your account. Recipes can require between one and four distinct ingredients, and quantities from 1 to 250 of each ingredient.
There are three ways to learn a recipe:
Automatically
Most basic component and refinement recipes are learned automatically by increasing your rank in a crafting discipline.
Discovery
Most other recipes are learned by combining ingredients from the discovery tab at a crafting station.
Recipe sheet
Some special recipes can only be unlocked by consuming a recipe sheet.
The forums:
‘Give us new stuff, ArenaNet, we never get new stuff’
ArenaNet adds new items.
‘OMG, ArenaNet is trying to kill its own game! This stuff is OP (or soon will be)’
and
‘What junk! This isn’t enough! We demand more!’
Poor Devs. =(
Um…a new map, new mechanics, new items, new recipes, new stats, new mobs, new events…..and more.
What were you expecting?
Unless the purpose is to encourage players to log-in, of course.
Odd how every person posting in this thread, except for the OP, has never posted on the forums before.
No.
I didn’t claim your opinion was invalid, just your statement of facts.
I said that what you wrote, in fact, was opinion, and not shared by everyone. If you have proof there is major disinterest, by showing metrics, your claims will be justified.
Otherwise, it is an opinion, and some will agree, and others will not. =)
I think (<—my opinion) that many are looking forward to the beginning of Season Two, if for no other reason than to see what awaits us…good or bad.
This would not be a ‘bug’, rather a suggestion.
No to changing the size of Asura.
Communication isn’t only hearing what you want to hear.
I think your expectations were a bit misplaced. Players have wanted a place to ‘PvP’ in PvE gear for ages.
I believe there are custom arenas, or some such, for practicing PvP with PvP gear available.
Good luck.
I’m afraid I didn’t read the ‘rant’, but I’m sure it was most apropos considering your Display Name.
Best of luck!
Well, not according to the Devs.
But, no one believes anything the Devs say…just what posters say, of course.
Anet said a couple years back that they were thinking about ways to sell LWS1 in the Gem Store, but they’re busy with making new content. Something about a problem with how S1 was programmed that doesn’t work like S2 and on.
I know you are familiar with the forums, and thus, Dev responses. I’m sure we can expect LWS1 to be available sometime after new Legendaries.
In the meantime, again X + (y – y) will never equal X + y.
I don’t know…if no one posts their disagreement with a suggestion, then, perhaps, ArenaNet would feel that’s what the playerbase desired. /shrug
I, for one, really enjoy Gliding in all the maps.
I’d rather not have Armor Sets added back to the Gem Shop. I’d prefer they stay in-game.
I think the Devs already ‘heard’ players desires about the design of HoT maps with the release of Bloodstone Fen. I guess we will see in a couple of weeks which way they go with Ember Bay.
I’d rather not have any more Stat/Gear progression; it took me a long time to get (almost all) Ascended gear on one character.
Still, good luck.
I have been waiting for someone to create a thread about this.
I think the new Level-up Rewards windows are great! Lots of information, and a much better sneak peek at what’s coming up.
I will never understand why ‘clicking’ is considered hard work, though. But, that’s just me.
Great job, Devs! I like it! =)
While you wait for ArenaNet to fix it, you can always minimize your loading screen, as your task bar will signal you when the game has loaded. Nothing to irritate you that way. =)
Good luck.
Ha ha. Priceless!
Personally, I think it’s easier to acquire the Gift of Exploration than to acquire the Gift of Maguuma and other Maguuma Gifts. I have most of the Gifts (or the required items to craft the Gifts) for a Core Legendary, and I’ve not tried to acquire a single item. Just things I’ve picked up in play. I have nowhere near any Maguuma Gifts, with the exception of, maybe, Aurillium, if that’s even an item/material needed.
Of course, just one player’s opinion.
Perhaps, ArenaNet is valuing ‘old players (Vets)’ by listening to their pleas to bring back Tribal and other armors long since unavailable.
Now, there’s a thought. ; )
I’m waiting for the threads/posts lamenting missing the BWE because there was no reminder in-game. =/
Yes, it is very fair. Just like when PvE has skins that those that prefer PvP could not easily acquire.
I don’t PvP, but I certainly don’t begrudge those that do their shinies. Geez!
A day or two ago I saw what I thought was a very clever pet bear name:

From the articles you linked:
“We don’t need an expansion to pay the bills, and we’re not focused on an expansion right now. I won’t try and predict the future, maybe someday we will do one, maybe we won’t…." Nothing about costs associated with expansions, but pay once to play what you paid for, indeed.
http://www.pcgamesn.com/guildwars/guild-wars-2s-future-we-dont-need-expansion-pay-bills
“We haven’t ruled out the possibility of doing expansions. The things we’re doing now is this big feature pack and the living world content….” Again, the article speaks about Feature Packs and how the author feels it was equal to an expansion (we all know many forum-goers felt that it was just the opposite). Nothing about costs of GW2 expansions, but mention of paid ‘expansions’ (campaigns) in GW1.
http://www.usgamer.net/articles/guild-wars-2s-april-update-a-paid-expansion-without-the-paid-part
We can all pick and choose what parts of articles to quote. =)
Good luck.
I’d like the option to choose Status before entering the game, like we had in GW1. Along with this, if one chooses ‘Invisible’, to actually be invisible to all tracking in-game.
In other words, for the game to treat the account as ‘Offline’.
Just a note to the Devs: Thanks for all the QoL updates we get, some not even posted in the patch notes (I’ve noticed these sneaky ones..lol). Some Devs go above and beyond, like with the Pet Name change…very nice. =)
I like the Living Story and its delivery cadence. I do hope ArenaNet knows many people enjoy it, and don’t post on the forums very often, if at all. It seems like, for the most part, only those dissatisfied like to come here and make sure their opinion is heard.
I am looking forward to the next Story arc, as well. =)
Yes, the cocoons were empty last time I did this event (in the last 2 weeks). Please fix.
Thank you in advance. =)
Well, let’s see. You need 126 HoT Mastery Points to fulfill every HoT Mastery Track. There are 164 HoT Mastery Points available. Adventures give 30 Mastery Points total.
164 – 30 = 134. Looks like there are enough Mastery Points available to max out all tracks and never touch an Adventure.
Better choice for you, not so much for the rest of us.
With this Episode, approximately 20 new skins were added…in-game. Perhaps, you missed them.
I can’t say I’ve seen but possibly one thread clamoring for marriage or apprentice (not even sure what that would be?). And I really can’t see a mini-game such as poke-pet or shooting gallery bringing back hordes of players.
But, maybe I’m just not ‘with it’ being so old and a ‘baddie’. Lol. =P
Oh, but I have seen a few threads about people coming back since Season Two. No idea why they came back. It might have been because they heard about new content, or…..just a wild coincidence. /shrug
(edited by Inculpatus cedo.9234)
If the Devs are ready to announce an expansion or some other large content release, I suspect it would be almost ready. I mean, that is their policy….don’t announce until the verge of readiness.
Thus, it may be too late for any ‘large’ wishful suggestions. /shrug
Do I need to farm all the heropoints 9x now?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Definitely will be through Hero Points. You can always save your Hero Points by not unlocking every skill and trait; only those you use regularly.
Good luck.
Here is a picture of one of the official statements released by ArenaNet regarding extended unattended play: https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/22768/report.png
If the CS Team finds any fictitious accounts in violation of this statement/rule, they will action the account. (Fortunately, the fictitious account in question only received a Suspension rather than a Termination of the account.) Another of the game’s rules is that they do not accept appeals for administrative action taken in connection with in-game behavior. (See Conduct Breaches and Outcomes.) That the CS Team even considered an appeal from any fictitious accounts was above and beyond their duty. Thus, any fictitious accounts should consider themselves lucky, and accept the ‘warning’ (again, see the aforementioned legal document).
