Lol… this kind of bugs are so amateur… offering interface options not compatible with all your modules… amazing.
That UI is for US Tax, VAT is added into the price. We pay 20% on all transactions from Europe.
well no, basically, the players pay it.
Asking for free cool features in a game with micro transactions is like asking for free coffee at Starbucks.
It makes sense that this birthday thing is quite a disappointment. Guess we have to forget about expecting something for your characters birthday like in GW1 (yeah those random minis were worth much more than minis in GW2).
I would pay to get her removed from the game and let the story of Tyria continue.-
If she IS the new story of Tyria… then I’m finally understanding the harm done. God she is evil… she ruined a game.
Working Pet > No Pet.
You have other classes that can bow people down if bow is what you like.
Many (like me) chooses the ranger exclusively for the pet, and if anytime in the near future ANet make Ranger’s meta without a pet, it will be us who will be crying in the forums.
plastic spiders was a good test devs, now add our pets some dodging AI.
I’m sure that everyone complaining here are playing in coordinated groups, using skills that has synergy with your party members, using combo fields wisely, support skills and have a “balanced” set of stats instead of glass cannon build right?
If not, then it’s your fault if you fail.
Zerk is the average Joe build. Don’t pat yourself in the back too hard.
QoL and Logistic Management… why do I foresee just a UI update and some mechanics and tons of disappointment?
When people say they want guild changes, they refer to guild halls and GvG. I don’t think you are connecting properly with what the community really wants. Please don’t deliver another trait system in exchange for skill hunting.
Commander Tag should be free for all. It’s a very usefull tool and anyone should be able to use it.
Here’s how things should be (IMHO) :
Introduce a new item “Tag coin” available for 1000 badges of honor or as a PvP reward track.
Blue Tag should be free for everyone.
Green Tag should cost 100Gold + 1 Tag coin
Yellow Tag should cost 200Gold + 2 Tag coins
Orange Tag should cost 500Gold + 5 Tag coins
Red Tag should cost 1000Gold + 10 Tag coins
Limit Tags to 10 per maps.
If there is already 10 Blue Tags When a Green Tag want to activate, the latest Blue Tag is desactivated. It should require a minimun pvp rank to wear first of all.
Commander Tags can be used on PvE Open World Map, I don’t see why PvP should be required for that. You can earn Badge of honor with achievment points so anyone can earn Badge of Honor but nobody can buy them. Seems to be the best compromise.
because PvE should be a different shaped tag and acquired by different ways. Lazy ANET placed them all as the same with a simple 100g req. only.
it is the one reason that stopped me from getting this set… no beard, no norn.
One Shot skills plus time limit is lazy design… please en light me how a Cleric-build character can L2P to kill her? Oh yeah… Clerics are bad because Cleric =/= Zerk.
So tell me, did they fail here? or while doing specs? Because evidently, they failed one place or the other if both things created by the same team have a conflict with each other.
Besides, I can easily say that if she didn’t kill me in the time limit I win, not her. Why should it be backwards?
ANet should get their game straight.
Warrior is the most balanced class overall… They should revamp every other class to be as fun as the warrior instead.
I was shocked and dissapointed to see Scarlet’s annoying face again at the end of this LS.
No please… if anything the MMOs as a general don’t need is more glowing armors like WOW. Everytime I see someone full full COF it makes me wanna throw a water bucket at them.
power rangers stay out of my game!
In Guild Wars 2, the monsters raid you.
Also, check out Guild Missions
No, no… “Raids” not zergs.
Raids like in a MMO way of saying Raids. Like having an interface to help us organize groups of people to have at least, once in a while, the illusion that the blue names spamming 1 next to me are other players and not just NPCs.
People need to get out of the mentality that they think they are “the best players” and simply cannot be that they need to improve if they cant clear an encounter. My party make up consisted of 3 DPS classes (full zerk), full cleric ele spamming water auto attack heals, and a guardian support. By no means is this an optimal dps party but can still clear it. Ele provided us with heals to stand in the red circles w/o having to waste dps time to dodge them.
If you feel that you are as good as you believe you are, you will clear this encounter as others have not only cleared it, but carried dead weight through it. There’s always ways to improve, its a matter of wanting to and accepting it.
make it with 2 support, 2 control and 1 dps zerk (range) player and I’ll buy what you are saying. Otherwise you are part of the big numbers = skill which is plain wrong.
Game advertised that holy trinity was over and players will have new roles to play… funny how it all turns in pure dps for this fight.
IMO, a simple fix would be to remove phase 1, and maybe extend the stealth from 1 minute to 1.1 or 1.2 minute. That way, even if you have lower dps and takes you longer you can still do the fight.
Just a quick question. is this the only topic for collaborative discussion or are we getting other ones for the other hot topics (e.g ascended gear, guild systems etc)?
No, this is what we got. I hardly believe living story beat class balance (and the many way players have to call it) but oh wel… class balance doesn’t sell on the gemstore. Living story does, so lets try at least to get this one right.
You kill a champ: 20 secs = 1 exotic bag
You complete an event: 5 minutes? = 1 silver.
There goes your Orr.
If events on high level maps, spawning lvl 84 vets and elites rewarded as much as killing a lvl 15 champ people would go more often to those maps.
The extremely low RNG to get a worthy (above a silver) drop from a lvl 84 NPC make it pointless to go there.
Also, more chained events and less time gated events are needed…. reward more and more as you progress through a chain of events instead of waiting for a timer and spam 1. One leads to immersion and helps the game environment, the other destroys it.
Im starting to see a pattern of ‘Grenth’ – or ‘Dwayna’
Can we have Melandru, Balthazar, Abaddon, Dhuum and Lyssa please?Preview this Datamined item
[&AgFFwQAA]Balthazar PvP Carapace
(Backpack)
I think they need more flames on their flames… their fire is not on fire enough.
No.
Don’t do it.
Keep the aesthetic of the game please. If possible remove the fairy wings and neon signs gloves (or give me an option to remove them from my screen, its looks like playing Mu Online, horrible). On your way please don’t forget to remove all the fire skins as well, they look childish and ridiculous
thanks!
It’s not that I don’t believe someone could make a legendary 5 months after release… But I don’t believe he didn’t farm for it.
Unless he is talking literally and he didn’t planted and seized any seed on the soil to get a legendary, we all know that getting stacks of ectos, T6 mats, lodestones, its not something you ‘accidentally’ get by doing random different things.
5 months have (aprox) 3.6K hours… how many hours do you have to play to get that without any real farming? do you also believe him?
300g?
why should a pvp feature cost gold when gold is best gathered through pve?
Are they still that clueless about their game?
please change, horrible armors are horrible
Ever heard off Transmutation crystals??
yes captain obvious…
Even heard of last best tier of item being better known for hiding/transmuting than showing off?
Well you are about to hear it here. World first game where this will happen
How come I died so much quickly as Bear than in regular shape?
I’m a Norn Warrior and whenever I switch to Bear form not only I loose my utility skills but also I recieve more damage, loose all my regens and mitigation and my HP Pool (even thou its bigger) drops considerably faster…
If Norn Racial transformation are as useless as they are, and just there for cosmetic,… can ANet please move them to Social Clothing instead of elite skill and let us have fun with them?
Also, all Norn NPC transforming and charging into battle (during personal quests and promotional videos) are nothing but false advertising.- you have worst dps, worst mitigation, worst movement,… you get a bigger clumsy weaker form and die almost instantly as you use it…. having it in an elite slot is a huge trap!
do you guys understand that you can craft a skill from mesmer ?
its like you can craft a skill from necromancer, for example an item that can fear
or i dont know an item that spawn a turret or something
its a very powerful item in my point of view so i can understand the price to make it
you can also buy swords, axes, maces, etc from NPC heart vendors… Would you pay the same price for a usable bola like the warrior skill? also Ranger Pets can be bought for 1.04 silver at an NPC and you have a whole class mechanic for 5 minutes. This portal thing is way over its price.
Warrior (Focus – Main Hand)
1- I Hit You With this thingy
2- I Hit You With this thingy
3- I Throw You this thingy
Full set of ascended is almost as hard to craft as a legendary (without the stupid precursor gate).
I think it would be fair and would be consistent with their idea of sharing ascended between alts.
Conclusion for this thread:
60 Skill Points – Gain Stealth a few secs.
I’m sure that’s what all of you imagine when you read about shapeshifting norns… gaining stealth for a few secs to run away. Impressive…
Will I get my second legendary? Hell yeah. Do, take in consideration that to do that, I will have to plan 3 months ahead of time to:
1) Do champ trains for 2 hours or less
2) Do one Scarlet invasion
3) Do fun stuff or just sell stuff and log out.In 3 hours of game play i can make between 10-25g including mats that I save for gifts
Don’t expect to get a legendary any time soon by doing things which do not contribute towards it.
Don’t want to take it personal against your method. But that is not toward a legendary. That is toward a fat wallet and if you think about it, conceptually, they are both two very different things.
Your method is the clear proof that legendary weapons have nothing legendary after all and are not the reward of someone who did much in the game but rather grind much the same 1 or 2 things.
Again, your method seems pretty effective but it would probably be better if the weapons were attained by doing a variaty of things instead of plain farming.
Its so funny how everyone who wears zerk thinks that being elitist means they are elite and consider themself good players lol
Funny note, majority of them are part of the bad players who THINK they are good using zerk.
Consider youself good at zerk gear? go solo Lupi… can’t do it? then go get something else dude. If you exceed at dodging, you can solo him like some others did
Ultimately, i really don’t see why you had to complain about it.
Nobody is saying that more is less (at least not for this particular case). We are simply implying that while having so much to do on one side, resources were spent on another area. Unless of course, next week’s communications reveals something on the same level of impact for the vast majority of players (those who already bought the game and have being playing for 2 years already waiting for new content ¬¬ )
favorite thing I miss from GW 1…
Immersion in the game.
Every content is zerk-it and leave-it. Nothing to stop, think, enjoy, play.
General GW2 strat guide: skip, stack, (if fail, repeat).
Multiplying their HP by a million and giving them even more CC abilities don’t make them fun. It makes them tedious and annoying.
Revert the changes.
This is objective fact and not subject to opinion.
That is all.
no its not objective fact and it is your opinion.-
I, myself, find logical that a huge dragon will force you to change your strategy and use other set of skills such as stability buffs, break stuns (aoe if possible) to counter their impressive roar.
Standing on a side and auto-attack him to death is objectively speaking a bad designed fight and this one is better.
I fail to see why melee would somehow change the issue where most bosses (and non bosses too by the way) have too much health.
Many npcs in this game just take too long.
I agree on bosses taking to long, I’m saying that playing melee usually makes it faster because you deal more damage and at the same time, most bosses in that particular dungeon are more fun at melee cause they have at least one or two mechanics to dodge which kind of awakes you from time to time
All I wanna know is this:
Who decided that Snow Leopard was the 30pt Elite Skill?!?!
My spirit animal is BEAR, kittenThe fact that Snow Leopard has Stealth is what bumped it up to 30pts. It has the advantage of making the Snow Leopard form actually useful. Highly situational mind you, but useful.
I belive it was the fact that it was the only one finished and not in beta.
I Will Avenge You
PLEASE!
It shouldnt be removed from beta
This move does not make sense to me. The art team of ArenaNet has incredible talent, I think we can all agree on that. It seems a little far fetched that they couldn’t design a new armor.
This seems like a decision solely made by the marketing team with the effects added by an outsourcer or a sole employee that is not necessarily connected to the art team.
Also, what is the point of having a “cultural” armor if it is available to anyone and everyone? The logical fix or make-up move here seems to be limiting the armor to humans, at least. It’ll still undermine the effort of people having gone through the trouble of farming the (arguably less cool looking) set, but that is personally fine with me.
They have to make money, so if one has the choice between farming it and giving money, I think that’s fine as long as it is for cosmetics. ANet has been oddly silent though, not a good sign… Then again, they haven’t deleted the thread and they’ve even merged it, so perhaps they will address the issue.
Wait and see.
When you refer to ANet Art Team, I think you are talking about a looooong time ago when this game was being made and real art was on the table…
This makes it sounds more like toughness and vitality has no place in higher level end game, and that is why its not ok because… (fast forward to your point about no gear diversity)… its exactly the reason why there is no gear diversity, because there is no significance to toughness and vitality in higher level end game, as much as dps is significant.
Why it is not ok? Toughness and Vitality have a role. They are learning gear in PvE. Why everything must be good at high level end game? Look at it like F1 racing. They put everything in the speed. In F1 the perfect engine would broke 1sec after the car pass the finish line. Why? because tough engine that last longer are bigger and have more material on them. Thicker side, thicker engine part to be more resistant. But the weight of a more resistant engine will cost you speed and the victory.
Same thing here. In the high level end game, you want to have as less personal survivability as possible, because that cost you some dps. Personnal surviablity only profit you and only you. Its not like the support i talked about that profit all the party and improve the overall capability of the group. That’s why survivability is rarely included in meta, but support is. And I think its a good, no great thing.
Also, if you can come up with a good way to make toughness and vitality the best way to go in a game. Tell me, i never found one.
Since you touch a racing game, let me answer you with another racing game example:
If Mario Kart is designed the same way GW2, everyone would be using Bowser and Kong cause they were the fastests (with bad driving and acceleration, but still the fastests). All other characters would just be learning characters but once you knew how to play, the races would be just lots of Bowsers and Kongs in very straight courses.
Since the guys designing Mario Kart knew better than ANet team, they made a game where even slower characters had their advantages because the courses were also designed in such way.
Currently our dungeons have no “curves” so we can all play Bowser and think its fine.
They don’t need to be more difficult, just not skipable. Skipping mobs kills the inmersion what kills the fun for me at least.
No. Anet is fine with people skipping mobs and it’s faster and more profitable not to fight them.
Because that’s EXACTLY what they want. To be more profitable and fast. That is ANet’s goal. All the other mobs wondering around in the dungeon was an accident with the mob spawning machine, it went crazy and they couldnt stop it so the extra mobs has to be skipped! Last thing I heard is that they are still developing a way to just single hand things to players without even logging in.
My god the kind of things you read online.
Never heard of that logic.
For me, it depends on the character I’m creating.
My warrior is an elder (old face, gray hair, long white beard) Norn. Tough in body, not max tall but tall enough to cause a reaction.
My ranger is a human elonian hunter. He is dark skinned, big body, rasta hair, and wears leather and bones armor (mix n match). Perfectly dressed for the time Elonian Deserts are here.
My necro is an asura, ugly as I could possibly make him… gray and black stained skin, small red eyes, horrible nose lol, it is so funny.
not worthy to tell you about me engie or guardian… but the idea is that depending on the character, I try to make them look different and fit a concept in my head.
This design is based off of GW1, where you actually capture elites. In essence this is what you are doing for your character. Think of the Traits as Elites you need to capture – not much difference.
Doing with a new character and all the complaints I have read in this thread, it is not as bad or even the same as you are talking about. It is still pretty easy-peasy.
they did such a poor, poor! and lazy job representing what we had in GW1… it is horrible.
Transformations are bad. Period. They are a bad designed feature in the game. There is not a single transformation that comes handy in the game.
They tweak Rampage and it is still a horrible HORRIBLE elite skill and that is in the best scenario the “stronger” version of our elite transformations.
There really is no hope for our elite skills.
besides, its impossible to argue with people who “Leopard is fine for stealth”. ANet really needs to query their database and check how many people uses it and get some scorecards. Its not that hard to notice with solid information that the whole set of 4 elite skills that costs a total of 90 SP are a total waste.
The good thing about ANet and this patch… I don’t need quotes. A picture says more than a thousand words.
The crafting system is not bad
This change alone is not bad
Both together are horrible… Silk price is way over its head and now its going to be even harder for heavies and leathers out there to get on their own.
ANet, please stop being inconsistent with your own game. It’s either you expect us to gather a variety of materials or you either narrow us into one type of material. Not both.
It is mostly cosmetic. Racial and Elite are not even worth of reading the tool tip.
What story?
Scarlet is the anti-story. It destroys stories… the molten alliance had potential.. until some lazy writer put scarlet on it too.
Don’t be so self centered.- For a portion of the player-base, “sitting on chairs” is real game play too.
Even if at the end an Elder Dragon was behind Scarlet
Scarlet is behind the Elder Dragons.
Ha.
That would be the end of GW2 for me (and many others) at least lorewise. I will just play the arcade then.
A whole year after liberating Orr from Zhaitan’s menace and it is still the same place… you take a walk in Orr and it feels nothing changed.
