Why I can't use other kind of armour skins

e.g : A thief wants to use light armour skins because he believes they are awesome while medium armour skins are just terrible.(exception ofc.)
I don’t understand why this isn’t in the game, in WvW where this could be a problem (it won’t tho ) everyone would understand that that guy with light armour is a guardian when they click on him

Oh trust me, they will play this card when they are bleeding players again.

I currently have no plans to limit players interaction with the world of Tyria in anyway. I believe it would be damaging to the economy, to the game experience and to the players overall..

We are already limited in the other interactions you mentioned. Some simple examples:

  • one jumping puzzle reward per day per character
  • one world boss chest reward per day per account
  • diminishing returns on dungeon tokens after the first run on each path per day
  • diminishing returns on farming mobs (mystery algorithm used here for security)

I’m not disagreeing with you on your response — just highlighting that we are already subject to restriction in the game to limit wealth that enters the economy.

The TP really doesn’t inject wealth, rather it removes it. So lack of restriction makes complete sense.

This ^

This is one of the most limited games to play… after an hour or an hour and a half you already have nothing else to do online cause most of the activities have already been hit by one diminishing return or the other.

They are horrible.

Their “wings” looks like bad science fiction from the 80’s. We don’t need another burning crusade with demons all around.

I’m glad they have little to none participation in this game (except for that part during the personal quest but we have Thrahearne to hate already)

Why is there so many emo players wanting to be demons?

Besides, like it or not, Tengu are more GW representative than this oversize fish

Wait a minute… does ANet still consider they have “drops” on their mobs? I thought it was perfectly clear already that there are no “drops” in GW2 and everything that falls from mobs are salvage material

I mean,… are they really aware of what’s going on in GW2? do they know that to craft heavy you need light? maybe this idea was tossed out by a new hired and approved by a senior who never logged into the game… its the only reasonable explanation

Umm…I crafted a full set of ascended heavy without ever touching light or medium. In fact, I don’t have any levels in medium or light.

Zerker is fine

The gear is fine.

The content being designed solely around it isn’t fine.

looks around for content designed solely for berserker gear

>.> <.<

can’t find

If you can solo it as berserk, then it was designed on a berserk standard since its the weakest (in terms of survivability) you can find. (Disclaimer: berserk meaning pure dps build and not exclusively the set p/p/f).

Different would be if by no mean a berserk could survive said content and requires the constant assistance of a support character, either buffing with aegis, vigor and cleanse or a control character to keep his rotation up to interrupt un-dodgeable attacks.

Then we will have content that is not fit for berserk only.

One hit, dodge or die PLUS timer on bosses = designed exclusively for berserk, aything else is a waste of stats (and I don’t find this fine in any mean from a game design point of view. I find this to be the biggest flaw in GW2).

Exotic, Ascended and Legendary Ranks

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Mesket.5728

Well, you do grind after level 80 anyway, so what’s the deal? Rather give players prestige if they spend a lot of time. Casual players don’t need ranks or prestige.

You don’t rad this forum much, do you?
Most complains I read here is from casuals complaining that they need to grind to get the prestige stuff.

About your suggestion, how those ranks would increase? Like I have 8 toons at lvl 80, if the rank up was by level individually they wouldn’t be high, but in general my account would have a high rank.

You have to earn prestige. You don’t get it by doing casual content.

I don’t think you know what casual means…

the content is the same for both… the only difference between a casual and a hardcore is the amount of time dedicated. How many hours a day do they play… Focus in game and how well they play is another different thing… (hardcores tend to play better because they practice more but its not a rule, casuals do hard content and some times even play better than hardcores).

Don’t even try it… he still thinks that Simin requires skill,… look at his last reply to me. He didn’t catch what I meant with a unique mechanic a compared it with things/CC’s you regularly do ingame.

I understand what you say, my friend and I both play with our GFs so we go Warrior/Guardian more tanky support (pow/tough/vit with group buffs and defensive skils) and they go ele/ranger for range safer dps lol. It’s a pretty solid group and we could beat any boss/dungeon except Simin, go figure… can you imagine trying to make a group like this work there? Even if we PUG Balthazar priest from the meta event as our 5th we would still not be able to do it…

Point is, this boss breaks all GW2 group potential as it doesn’t need anything the game has to offer and only takes max dps and mob herding… Yeah, real skill here guys!

Yes, running sparks apparently requires skills.

well it doesnt.

The only difference between a succeed and a failed attempt at Simin in my experience was that 2 guys needed to respec to full dps builds and change our gear, utilities to maximize dps. Sparks are out of the problem even with all their bugs. Come on, you can only run that fast, almost double the spark speed so moving them is not rocket science.

Even if the sparks move by themself as fast as they go right into the circles, you still have a DPS barrier to break and THAT is what makes people complain. Its an impediment for certain groups/classes. Nothing else in this game cuts you out if you dont have enough numbers and numbers =/= skill

Even though I agree with you,… most bosses in this game has to much HP making fights boring; you also have to consider that melee damage is so much higher that range damage that i can build myself full tanky and do much more damage than you at range, meaning I can melee all fights (including that first boss you found so boring) and have more fun, and do it quicker.

A lot of full zerk players get bored at fights cause they range while they could’ve built with more toughness and vitality and survivality traits and do more damage at melee.

I find that boss and the wolf boss in path 3 very fun to melee the whole fight

Commander Tag should be free for all. It’s a very usefull tool and anyone should be able to use it.
Here’s how things should be (IMHO) :
Introduce a new item “Tag coin” available for 1000 badges of honor or as a PvP reward track.
Blue Tag should be free for everyone.
Green Tag should cost 100Gold + 1 Tag coin
Yellow Tag should cost 200Gold + 2 Tag coins
Orange Tag should cost 500Gold + 5 Tag coins
Red Tag should cost 1000Gold + 10 Tag coins
Limit Tags to 10 per maps.
If there is already 10 Blue Tags When a Green Tag want to activate, the latest Blue Tag is desactivated.

It should require a minimun pvp rank to wear first of all.

I agree, stacking and using LOS is kinda cheap but it also make it easier for most players. Also, it is not an exploit. Using LOS against brainless mob is a legit pulling tactic that must have over a decade now, applied in many MANY games. One should think that devs in the year 2010+ would’ve come to a solution but they didn’t find one yet.

IMO AC is pretty decent and fun and its one of the few dungeons that shares some lore with GW1 (which sums a lot in my book).

If I have to call a dungeon boring or not that entertaining I would say TA gets my award: Hitting small explosive mushrooms… the engine is not as polished as they think to make that a pleasure experience… it is glitchy and deadly with lag; besides the place looks like a bad trip of acids.

If the prisoner Zommoros is so chaotic and random with some combinations, why do others ALWAYS work? I get it’s a game, but the 100% recipes should have been handled differently (like another NPC legendary craftsman or djini).

Even though I agree conceptually with what the OP says… I disagree that the patch itself isn’t an issue.

Some changes they are proposing are bad. Simple as that. They will impact the game in a wrong way (I’m looking at you loot by profession). It’s concerning that they implement things like that (and others in the past). It shows we know more of the game than they know, no matter how many “statistics” they want to mention. I don’t buy it anymore. It’s simply wrong, in theory, in math, in practice.

I really hope they get their heads into the game and do things positive for the players or at least be honest and confess they have plans for the future that don’t include us vets.-

Sorry I don’t judge if something is bad or good till I’ve tried it and played it. I know some people think it’s bad. But no one really knows…and won’t likely know for some time.

“I’m going to kick you in the crotch…” Do you need a test to know its bad?

Some people can do math in their heads faster than others that’s true, but those people already explained a thousand times why even on paper those changes are bad. Besides, it’s not only this time they are including things without proper analysis or not being honest with the real intentions behind the change.

Bad Economy

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: Mesket.5728

Mesket.5728

I really don’t get why people are against an economy… seeing from the forum posts it seems that people actually want a game where every item has a fix prize… let’s say 1000g for high end items and every enemy you kill grants you 5 copper. Now you know exaaaactly how much time you’ll need, there are no random loot drops and no other kind of drops…

What? Does that sound boring to you? Well guess what: people actually like loot. They actually like the ability to sell things for a price they seem fitting. But are people that understand the market evil? Is it a bad economy if players can decide prices THEMSELFS??? I think not..

Another example of “evil” market players: if i bought 100 ectos at 14s ea ( ~ 5-6 months ago) in order to craft some exotics and my exotic armour. But then i decide that i like dungeon armour more and i start farming it. Well surprise 5 months later i still have my ectos and they are 40s now. Am i an evil market manipulator now?? Because that is basically what market flippers do… this is neither evil nor a bad economy.

It let’s you a lot of freedom but appaerently that’s not what players want…

Well just like RL, the poor like to hate the rich for the sake of being rich. They seem to think that the poor class deserves as much wealth as the rich, but they don’t want to make the sacrifices that the rich make.

The big difference is that “the poor” here, are playing a game, by the game theme and think that “the rich” who just make rich by staying the same place (LA) the whole day are not.

In an epic fantasy game where dragon spread terror and villages get raided by centaurs… who deserves the reward? the Hero? or the Merchant?

This game made a wrong turn somewhere…

Damask silk can be crafted via heavy armorsmith. The cloth materials are not limited to light armorsmithing (tailoring), but can be made with all the armorsmithing trades (light, medium, and heavy)

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Armorsmith
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Leatherworker
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tailor

Yes there is some overlap, but one is not dependant on the other trades.

I think you don’t get it…. without salvaging light armor, there is no other way (other than bags which is unreliable) to get cloth materials. Get it? You can’t craft a heavy armor without salvaging light armor. Cloth doesn’t grow on trees and can’t be gathered and it would be a terrible mistake to limit this to the TP.

GW2 was not about RNG

1400+ hours playing. Best drop so far was a 1h sword 5g worth skin.

Know this guy from my guild, less than 300 hours played, around 750 AP… got a precursor, instant 650g injection to his wallet for a guy that barely touched the “end” game.

And another one that 7 months ago already had 4 precursors dropped to him in different scenarios… (switched guild so I don’t know if his luck goes on)

But is all fair! it’s not like we bought the same game, did the same things or anything

Fair is relative. It is fair some people live in areas with terrible internet and so they can’t compete in skilled content? Is it fair that some people can’t afford better systems and so they lag and can’t get rewards? Is it fair that some people were born into the video game generation and find all content too easy where people who came to it later are struggling to figure out how to strafe?

RNG equalizes things and makes them fair from that perspective. In theory, everyone has the same chances. It doesn’t mean everyone will get the same drops.

All the things you mentioned are on our side. I have to deal with a poor internet connection because I live 16.000 km away from the servers and my average ping is around 500-800. Yes, that is near 1 second delay from pushing to a button to actually making it happen but it is something I can understand and simply deal with it; it is not up to them to balance all internet connections or personal rigs…

RNG is here because they didn’t “finish” the game. Instead of designing a way to get the precursor (or some other rare mats) they just placed it in the world with a lottery chance of getting it. This creates unbalances beyond repair and the ball is entirely on their side.

A plea to nerf Dwayna (Arah p4/Seer path)

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Mesket.5728

Mesket.5728

Robert, as it was said in the previous post, sparks are not the only problem.

Simin mechanic is out of this game. Regular players have no idea what to do, even when you explain to them and show them graphics… this fight is still out of this game as it is unique in everything you have to do.

No other boss in any other dungeon require you to herd anything. No other boss in the game has a dps check as this one. No other boss in this game goes uses timers in this way. No other boss requires a specific location, dance, syncronization to be done. Not even Lupicus.

This sum together makes the boss a huge pain for the vast majority of the player base since they are not used to, and don’t know how to deal with a fight like this. Also, don’t forget that to reach her, you need to run 1-3 hours depending on how good the group is since some trash pulls are very hard and there are a lot of bosses in this path. Many groups skip mobs but others preffer to kill all in their way. (different story if Simin were the second boss in the dungeon, players wouldn’t be so stressed and tired and might put more effort into it).

Like I said, all together makes this fight something else rather than what people plays at GW2.

It is doable, by certain groups, certain party composition with certain builds (lol at that group mentioning 2 necros with blue, greens… I dare them put them 2 on Simin dps and the warrior and guardian on tears/spark duty, lol) and this irritates most players.

Simin fight beats your willing to play before it beats your character, as the fight its not even hard, you can’t die at her but man you don’t want to log ever again for at least a few days after this event.

Definitely definitely prefer something specific to soon. I mean, if you give us an estimate and then notify us that its changed, that’s twice we’ve heard a real honest answer. :-)

Gayle, I think he nailed it.

It’s better to be frustrated at errors found in development than being frustrated against you guys.

This is one of the most single players MMO out there.

It’s just a bunch of zerk players (everyone one is a copycat of the other) doing things the fastest they can (like if they actually have something important to do in life) then leaving the zone.

Since there is no concept of team play, communications are not needed. Thus, people don’t eve say “thanks” when you rez them… you barely read a shortened “ty” every now and then.

(Most) People want to feel like they earned their legendary, not bought it directly with gems—>gold (or massive farming) or just got super lucky with drops.

I wish we had some sort of long, solo, hard, instanced quest that just couldn’t be zerked to victory.

It’s good that they are letting us craft them finally, but if it is going to cost as many t6 (or 7) mats and/or lodestones as a legendary that doesn’t really solve the problem.

Didn’t you hear? Thor had to check with his broker many times and stock animal parts like crazy before he could wield Mjölnir

42 pages and they ask for more feedback… I think they miss the troll face at the end of the post.

instead who will use it, you must first define how would you use it.

Using the warrior as example since he is the “master of arms”

1H
Mace (defensive) – Defensive, very low attk spd, nice dmg, high cc
Sword (offensive) – mobility, high attk spd, medium dmg.
Axe (offensive) – Very high damage, good atk spd, no cc

2H
GS (offensive) – High damage and mobility, no CC
Hammer (defensive) – High CC, very low attk spd, nice damage.
Great Axe – ?

If you can fill the blanks with an idea (not skills, forget about skills and effects that comes way much later…), a concept for the great axe and why it is needed beside its coolness… then a dev may or may not start thinking about it.
